The Long Years Ahead: Ch 2. Moving On
Leere looked down to the spot they buried Sunny. It was traditional to be buried in Hyrule. The Royal Family was even kind enough to have her buried in the castle graveyard, an honour for princesses and princes. None of the nobles dared complain. But none felt the need to. Around Leere were grieving souls, family, friends, and those that respected the Ingo family legacy Sunny had built in her career. Despite all the people, Leere barely noticed them. As some started to leave, she merely stayed still over the patch of dirt and the grave stone built for Sunny.
"Come on, you old fart." Ralnor approached Leere from behind, putting a hand on her shoulder. His beautiful blonde hair was now solid white and there were many wrinkles decorating his once youthful face. He walked with the best posture, but still had to use a cane to help with balance. Yet, his attitude never changed... except now, he had more humor, even if it was rather dark. "I still have a bottle of that wine you like in the cellar, but you're going to have to go and get it. Stairs and I don't really agree that much anymore."
"I don't feel like drinking." Leere's voice was devoid of any spark.
"Well, it's either wine or it's chess to keep you occupied." Ralnor asked her again, "Which is it going to be? You're stuck with me for the evening, so you might as well make the best of it."
"The last time I drank after a funeral it was for mom... I don't think I want to relive that again." Leere looked up to the sky, watching a hawk fly over. Her attention turned to the layout of the castle. She pointed out towards an arch that was under reconstruction. "I'm going to outlast every life here. Even the castle will be a new model."
"You're probably right." Ralnor was never one to sugarcoat any dire situation. "New castle, new town, new port, everything will be new at some point. But... you want to know the one thing that makes me laugh about this whole situation?"
You find humour in this? Do tell.”
"That water dragon of my dearest brother's wife will be here to annoy you." Ralnor grinned at Leere, knowing how much she found Ba'puu to be the most irritating creature on the planet... next to Malik. He was doing his best to get a laugh out of his sister. The old prince knew she understood his dark humor. "And check on you every. Single. Day."
“Maybe he can kill me.” Leere looked back down at Sunny’s grave. “I can’t even bring her back. Her time is done. She lived and loved a full life.”
"Please, Ba'puu might be a giant pest, but he'd never harm you." Ralnor waved off that notion of Leere's. "You don't want to bring her back. Would you want her to be ripped away from those she's already lost?" The prince corrected his sister, "You did not lose Sunny, just like I did not lose Cass. They're simply waiting on the both of us, and, unfortunately," He shrugged a little, "Sunny is going to have to wait a little longer."
Leere’s shoulders sank, and with it her desire to stay. Turning, she faced Ralnor. Black lines of stained massacre and bags of little sleep filled her eyes. “Ralnor. I appreciate what you are trying to do… but I don’t see the point. My sunshine is gone. The only reason I’m not burying my daughter is due to a technicality.” Leere took a quick glance to see Joy speaking with Skyla. “Joy’s opted to be cremated when she passes.”
"You can't say I didn't try to cheer you up, but at least you know that's not exactly my strong point. I'll leave you with this," Ralnor patted Leere's shoulder gently, but had some tough loving words for her. "I'm not long for this world. Neither is anyone else you've loved or known for a while. Yet, none of us want you to despair." He told her, "Travel the continents. Learn what you want to know about other cultures. Research history and keep it from falling into nothingness. Watch our descendants multiple and grow. And lastly," The old prince took a moment to pause, "If you cannot find your sunshine, then you can always enjoy the moon. Both still give some light."
Leere gazed up, trying to see the moon. "Yeah. That's true. I don't think I can bury any of you though. I can't... subject myself to that pain over and over." Looking back to Ralnor, Leere had her first look of faint emotion. A plea. "Do you understand?"
"I won't ask you to bury me." Ralnor did not want Leere to have to relive the same pain as today. "Just... maybe visit. Share a bottle of wine at my gravesite with the old snake. Make sure all of our hard work doesn't go to waste."
"I won't..." Leere let out one more sigh. "Is your liver even good anymore for drinking?"
"Leere, I'm older than the word fuck itself, if my liver is shot, than so be it." Ralnor snorted at her inquiry of concern. "Let's go drink."
Leere frowned, her eyes gloomy. She didn’t like the way he was so casual about throwing his life away to possible alcohol poisoning, but her resolve to push back against her brother was gone. “Fine. Cass would be disappointed.”
"Dear sister, let me let you in on a little secret," Ralnor put his arm around her shoulders, using the other hand to support his weight on the cane. "Orana could outdrink many, but never my dear wife."
Sitting in his chambers, Leere gently and slowly dipped from the wine, taking the time to let its contents dull her senses. Part way through the drinking, Leere reached into her bag of holding and pulled out a glass on Lon Lon Romani. It was a milk like alcoholic expresso, created by Sunny. Popping the cork, she poured herself a glass, then silently looked to her brother to see if he wanted a glass.
"I will decline the specialty, Leere, you keep that bottle for yourself." Ralnor carefully sipped at his small glass of wine. "Have you spoken to the snake?"
“Not recently.”
"As much as I hate to say it, you should probably speak to him about what to expect in the upcoming years." Ralnor was old, he was definitely wise, and as always, had very good points. "He has been there, done that, for lack of better phrasing."
“I suppose so. Given his long life span, and my magic inclinations to stay young…” Leere chugged down the milk. Her head was already spinning.
"For now, though... I would suggest learning how to get your emotions on track first." Ralnor told his sister with a sad smile. "Living through the ages with grief... will not be easy."
“Ralnor…” Leere set her mug down, a long look in her eyes as she gazed at him. “In my first one-hundred years I have experienced being set up as a sacrifice, loss of innocence, war, demons, monsters, loss of friends, colleagues, our parents, and my wife. I’ve seen things that would even shake you. To be honest, fate has nothing on me. It can’t get any worse. Maybe… maybe in time it will get better.”
"My dear sister, I'm not saying look for the worst in the world in the future nor am I saying focus on the past." Ralnor told Leere, wise beyond his years, even in old age. "What I'm saying is... don't give up hope."
“I’m sure I’ll find something to do to keep myself preoccupied…” Leere took a swig of the mug again. “I could be Queen, you know.”
"Queen? Of Hyrule?" Ralnor gave a loud laugh at that suggestion. "Leere, as much as I love the idea of you terrifying your subjects with necromancy and having harems to put any others to shame, you've never been on for such a life. Besides," He added more wine to his glass, "You wouldn't do that to our brother's descendants."
"I'm not going to take over or anything. And I wouldn't want to be Queen of Hyrule, per say. I could just Queen it up elsewhere."
"Leere, you always hated doing paperwork and anything with diplomacy," Ralnor snorted at the idea of Leere trying to build her own kingdom. "Your love was archaeology. History. Culture. Go and do that."
“Oh god. I’m going to live long enough for you to be ancient history.” Looking at the wine, Leere took another drink. “Maybe I can get rich digging you up and putting your mummified remains in a Museum one day.”
"Nice try, but I am going to be cremated." Ralnor chuckled at the thought of Leere putting him in a most undignified pose as a mummy. "Cass was cremated and her ashes spread across the Gerudo Desert. I wish to do the same to be with her."
“I suppose there’s peace in that.” Raising her glass, Leere smiled. “To our wives. Strong willed women who should have outlived us both. To seeing them again.”
"I will drink to that." Ralnor took a final sip of his wine and then gave a small sigh, overlooking the kingdom. "Do promise me one thing, though, Leere." The prince then admitted, "I would like for you to come back here when you feel ready. Check in on our descendants. Make sure Covarog's and Zarazu's hard work did not go to waste." He gave her a small smile. "I'm sure they would appreciate it, as would I."
“I will. If anything threatens our descendants, I’ll be here. Who knows… maybe I’ll see the next Link.”
"... maybe there won't be another Link." Ralnor said with a tint of hope in his voice. "Or Papa. Or Mama. Maybe, just maybe... they can finally rest."
“Maybe… but not every Link has been the same reincarnation. Sometimes, like a Diamond in the rough, Hylian tradition to name their children after heroes can mesh beautifully with heroism in times of strife.”
Finishing her drink, Leere steadily got up. “I suppose I should go find Modoc.”
"If anyone names their child after me, I will haunt them." Ralnor retorted dryly, giving his adopted sister a hug. "Go terrorize the snake."
Leere hugged him tight, a part of her afraid to let go for a moment. She didn’t want to lose him. However, she knew life had to go one. Disembarking his room, Leere waved goodbye as she went to search for Modoc. Oddly, she had a sixth sense now about where he would be.
~
"Are you going to return to Omisha?" Napochi was speaking to his uncle as Joy rested inside her mothers' home. It had been a long week for her and she was exhausted. While he was too large to fit inside the house, he was comfortable with Modoc inside of the barn. "Mother has been wondering when you will come home."
"Perhaps after things settle here." Modoc told Napochi with a small sigh, "I can't exactly travel without drawing too much attention. I don't really want to anyhow," He shifted slightly in the hay, "I'd rather go back to Omisha and live out my days watching my nieces and nephews or training the next shaman."
Leere supposed she should have found Napochi and Modoc at the barn. It was the only place for them that could fit their sizes. Dismounting her horse, she settled next to a wooden in the barn, politely waiting to be noticed.
Hearing the horse approach, Napochi slithered near the edge, looking downward.
"Mother-in-law," He was always so formal with his speech, "Joy is in the house if you're looking for her.”
“I-… thank you Napochi. I’m sure she’s resting. I’m actually here to speak to Modoc.”
"Oh, shit." Modoc grumbled under his breath, figuring that Leere was going to chew him out about something else out of his control.
"Very well, I will give the two of you the barn." Napochi slithered out of the hayloft, "I will wait on the porch until you are finished speaking."
“Thank you Napochi.”
Leere waited until her son-in-law made his way out. Silence fell between her and Modoc. When she finally spoke, Leere did so with conviction, but it was clear her energy was sapped. “Modoc. We need to talk about our future.”
"What future?" Modoc asked with a drawl to his voice, leaning over the hay loft to look at Leere. "The one where you wallow in grief for hundreds of years, cursing me? The one where I try to forget the past two thousand years of Prama's influence on my mind? The one where we hate each other until the goddess of death eventually comes for my soul once more?" He gave a small scoff, "Let's be honest, Leere, we can't kill ourselves. Zarazu would be pissed at us for taking the easy way out and a worse punishment might be waiting. Not to mention, if we hurt each other, then we're only going to be hurting ourselves. There's no way out of this deity-forsaken trap."
“No. There isn’t a way out of this for us. But that doesn’t mean I’m going to suffer in despair in that time. And I don’t want to fight with you either. What would the point be?” Leere let her arms plop against her sides. “However, I am going to grieve. In my own way. I’m going to leave Hyrule. And, I want to know if you would want to come with me?”
"Leere, there is no possibility that I could travel with you." Modoc gestured to himself, thinking she had hit her head. "Look at me. I'm a giant snake man who scares the ever living shit out of people." He then told her, "Even if I challenged magic to alter my appearance, it would be very draining. Mother has need of me back in Omisha, so I will return there."
“Okay…” Leere took a deep breath. “I just wanted to ask you. You are, and will be forever now, my longest relationship in my life. And I hoped I could go on this journey with someone I care for.”
"Leere, you have to be honest with yourself," Modoc knew how she was feeling. He could sense it. She was merely trying to spare his feelings. "You can barely stand the sight of me right now. While I will always care for you, I believe you need time to sort out how you feel."
“Modoc. I don’t hate you. You aren’t responsible for what has happened to me. I am. I made that choice years ago. Maybe… maybe I thought you could help me sort it out.” Leere took a seat on a barrel of hay. “I’m sure Mother has her hands light with Napochi and Sadon there. Maybe we can both just… escape Hyrule and Omisha for a bit?”
"If you truly believe those words, then why are you mad at me?" Modoc asked Leere, not understanding. "Why do I sense that you feel such bitterness?"
“Because-!” Leere finally felt some more flare come back to her. “Because when Joy was born, I was never the same after the tower while Chaos was still dwelling in our world. It made me paranoid, and an asshole towards my monster friends. I wanted to protect her from everything, even when I knew you’d never hurt her, or corrupt her. And then, we never just took the time to sit down and sort our shit out after I forcibly brought you back to life. I’m bitter because I wasted time between us. Fuck it. That’s why.”
Modoc almost wanted to laugh about Leere mentioning how much time she had wasted, when now, she had more time than any mortal her age. Yet, it did make him feel a bit sad, recalling how Leere had all but ignored him, not to mention Blue and White. She even refused to visit Mother in Omisha. True, part of this situation could be his own fault. Modoc was incredibly angry with Leere for bringing him back, for breaking her promise to him, but... now, once more, he had resigned himself to his fate.
"And now... I think you realize that time is the one thing we cannot protect our loved ones from."
“Yeah.” Leere looked down to an open spot beside her, silently gesturing to him to join her. “Do you remember Hades?”
"... yes." Modoc felt that sharp twinge of pain in his chest. "I... really wish I could have brought back his species for him. But Prama wouldn't let me."
“I know you had a close relationship with him. I know I didn’t have as much time with him, but I did consider him my friend. He was grounded amongst the wackiness the rest of the hive could get up to. He was encouraging, always listening and giving sage advice. Then he tried to kill us… I never felt a betrayal like that before.” Leere held onto herself, silence filling the room for a bit. “Modoc… I’m sorry. I let that experience twist my trust again. I let it hurt my relationship with you for a long time. And I thought I could help repair it by bringing you back. But I only made things worse. I don’t want to have this strain between us. I love you. As much as Joy, my family, or Sunny.”
Once again, Leere fell silent. Part of her felt stupid. Even if wasn’t angry with her, he wouldn’t feel the same.
"Before Hades made his choice, he was my oldest friend." Modoc told Leere, thinking back to when he met the Lionel. "He was just a kitten, starving and lost. I watched him grow, just as I did you." The Anagari could sense that Leere's apology was heartfelt and sincere. She truly meant those words, but it was hard not to have doubts after so long of Leere's dismissal. "Sometimes, those you love the most are the ones who hurt you the most."
Rolling over onto his back in the hayloft, the shaman sighed heavily, conflicted, "I understand why you did what you did, Leere. I truly do. I just..." He ran a hand down his face, "I know you wanted me here, partly because of selfish reasons and the other to help you protect your family. I understand that, I do, I know the why, I know the reason, I just..." He groaned softly, thinking of his own family, his beautiful mate, his sweet hatchlings. It pained him to think of their faces. "When you are at peace... true peace, and then suddenly yanked away from it, it leaves you feeling so hollow for a time. While I was angry at you, I do not hate you."
Leere’s grew a little solemn. Steady, she got up, walking over to Modoc. Best she could, she did her best to hug him. "You sure we can't just take time to get close again?"
Modoc was a touch surprised at the hug. Leere had avoided him like the plague until now. It felt odd, but... somewhat comforting. He had lost many of his friends. Hades betrayed him. Silver lost his life in the war. Black had his final rest granted by the goddess of death. Red was still running his brothels, but he rarely saw the incubus. Blue and White were still alive, thankfully, but now had lives of their own. It was so painful to watch those he cared for suddenly vanish from his life.
"... we do have plenty of time." Modoc spoke softly, "Anagaris can live up to a thousand years, Leere. Before I died, the first time, I was in my mid three hundreds... so we have quite a while."
"And who knows how we'll account for my lifespan and magic." With a sigh, she patted his chest with her bare, almost tender hand. "Are you sure I can't convince you to join me? I'm sure Mother has plenty of help in Omisha. And if you do have to wear a disguise, I know spells that can help take away the discomfort. I could use a friend on the road. I'm thinking of going to Danjur first, but if you can't join me, maybe I would visit Fayruz in Al-Daida instead."
"From what I know, Mortuus usually lived a normal human lifespan unless a deal was made of some sort with hellish magic." Modoc felt her hand trying to give him a source of ease with the tiny pats. It made him think of when he used to carry her around. Years ago, Leere used to demand he be her personal chauffeur. It used to make him chuckle when she'd just hold up her arms like she was a kid again. "... I am not one for traveling, Leere. Those who know me as a host still hold resentment. But I will go with you to Al-Daida before Omisha," He thought of the matriarch, "She, at least, will not banish me from her country."
“Thank you…” Leere hugged him again, before letting go. “I should go talk with Joy. Need her help in getting my affairs in order.”
"Take your time and grieve, Leere." Modoc told her, a solemn expression on his face. "I... didn't have time to grieve when I lost my family. And I should have been able to. You do what you need to."
Nodding, Leere made her way back into her house. Opening the door to the inside, she paused, looking at the bench she and Sunny sat on for so many days they were married. Going inside and up the stairs, she passed by too many photographs for their lives, with Sunny getting older and older. Finally, reaching Joy’s bedroom, Leere peered in. “Joy?”
Her daughter stirred awake from the sound of her mother’s voice, a little tired in her voice. “Mom?”
“I’m sorry. I can come back later if you like.”
“No. It’s fine. Come in.”
Leere made her way in, crawling on top of the bed to lay beside her daughter. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine. But I’m far from okay.”
Leere felt the hollowness in her daughter’s voice. It was understandable. “I know. I feel the same now she’s gone.”
Joy turned to her mother, taking a deep breath to keep her emotions in check. She had a long day of crying already, and she didn’t want to start again. “Mom’s going to be okay. And in time, we’ll see her again. It’ll just take a little longer for you…”
“Joy. I need to tell you something.”
Sending some hesitation in her mom’s voice, Joy took her hand gently, giving it a squeeze of encouragement. “What is it mom?”
“I’m going to leave Hyrule. My way of healing, my best way-“
“Is to adventure.” At this point, Joy was sitting up on the bed. She knew her mother well, more so the older she got. Leere loved the sense of travel, the excitement and wonder that came with it. Helping her mom up, Joy smiled with some sadness, but also understanding. “Mom. Sunny would want you to be happy. Mama would know that you can’t stay cooked up here. And I know that too. You’re a free spirit, and I think you need to see the world to let it help heal you.”
“Oh Joy.”
“Go out there. Be wild. Just… just try to visit? Or message me once in a while? I can look after the house here.” A little more serious, Joy put on her doctor's face. “Mama and I won’t, wouldn’t, care if you look for intimacy. But please. Don’t go on drugs again.”
Leere flinched at hearing that. She supposed Sunny must have told Joy at some point of her mom’s troubled past before she meet the farmer. Nodding, she made a vow here and now to Joy. “I won’t. Nothing hard or dangerous ever again.”
“Thank you. And be safe. I love you mom.”
“I love you too, my Joy.”
Hugging her, Leere prayed for her daughter to have a long and safe life.
~
A month of preparations was in order for Leere. She took time to cry, to celebrate the life Sunny led with remaining friends and family, and to plan. If she were to leave Hyrule to travel the world, she’d need organization, at least to a degree. Identities to go by, magic items to bring, and how to live happily.
With a step in her speed, Leere made her way to the castle. She needed one last goodbye and to make some arrangements with the royal family. Donning a pair of red tinted glasses, she wore a nice leather jacket and traveling pants for the occasion.
"Didn't Mother always tell you not to skip in the halls?" Ralnor chuckled as Leere rounded the corner. He had been waiting for her. "She was always so worried you'd break one of her antiques."
“You’re just jealous I still have the figure for it. Besides, I was always a good child. Anytime I slipped up Rinku and Skull Kid were happy enough to take the fall.”
"Those two never grew up and therefore have a valid excuse." Ralnor followed Leere into the throne room. "You know, you don't have to go. You're more than welcome to stay here."
“I know. But if there’s one thing I shared with our late sister it’s that I could never stay in one spot for long. I did so for Sunny. But now that she’s gone… I need to go. Hyrule’s just a sad reminder right now. In time, I’m sure that will change, but I do need time to work that out.” Leere took her brother’s hand, smiling. “If I do stay, I’m pretty certain I’ll go mad and turn all of you into children to have you grow up again.”
"Leere, if you make me go through puberty again, I will bite you." Ralnor shook his head, understanding her need to leave. "Go off on one of your grand adventures yet again. It will do you good."
“Yeah. I’ve already said goodbye to Orana and Tebby. As for Kanisa, I’ll figure something out. All that’s left is you and little Lui-Lui.”
Leere gave Ralnor a pat on the back. "Let's go find the little red head, shall we?"
"That little redhead isn't so little anymore." Ralnor walked alongside Leere, going into the throne room where Luimaya and Xidoren waited. He looked at the pair, standing side by side, talking to their children. The old prince gave a small sigh, a smile creeping onto his face. It was rare to see him be so relaxed. "... I'm so glad that she had a chance to be happy too."
"Indeed." Leere walked in, and, with a flick of her finger, she made a few wrapped boxes appear. With a full smile, she shouted out to the kids. "Who's your favourite Aunt!"
It was indeed an odd sight to Ralnor. Long ago, Luimaya had told the prince that she thought she would never have a family after learning of her fate to be the host of Balance. Now, here he was, watching her laugh as her children greeted Leere. Luimaya and Xidoren were parents to five beautiful daughters and two handsome sons.
"Goodness, you'll never stop spoiling them, will you?" Luimaya gave her aunt a smile. "Then again, I suppose that is what aunts are for."
"Shadow Sage---I mean, Princess Leere," Xidoren was as formal as ever with his speech, "You are too kind."
"Not kind enough I think. For all of you. Books of adventure and lockets of beauty and mystery. Enjoy." Ruffling some of their hair, she made her way up to the Queen, giving Luimaya a hug. She was in a much better mood since the funeral. "Hello dear. How are you doing?"
"Aunt Leere, I'm old, I'm here, I'm still a bit fabulous, and I've somehow managed to keep the kingdom from falling apart, so I'd say I'm all right." Luimaya returned the hug and then added, "But most of all... I'm happy." She had her hand holding Xidoren's, still very much in love despite all that had happened.
"You don't look at all a day over thirty-nine. It makes me happy to know that you have this full joy in your heart." Leere smiled at them both, a twinkle of sadness in her eyes, but with a blink, she pushed it away.
"It seems that we were both able to master our fate in the end." Xidoren gave Luimaya a smooch on the forehead. "Are you sure you wish to travel? We are more than happy to accommodate you in the castle."
"Xidoren... I can't stay. I don't want Hyrule to feel like a prison of time. If I stay for the hundreds of years I have left, it won't feel special anymore, let alone a home. I need to journey outwards. If I do so, the moments I do return will make Hyrule feel all the better." Turning to Luimaya, Leere cupped her niece's hands. "Do you understand?"
"I understand." Luimaya never wanted to think of how hard it would be to live on and watch her family die. It was a curse she'd never wish upon anyone. The only way to live with this type of pain was to try and outrun it. "Just be careful."
"I will. You know I will check in on our family line right? Keep them safe. And, if need be, keep them honest."
"I trust you to do so." Luimaya knew that eventually Leere would return to Hyrule. Probably not in her lifetime, but, at least here and there to check on the descendants. It was a heavy thought, but one that gave her a bit of comfort.
"Hey." Leere lifted her drooping chin up. "No sad thoughts. Not for you. Not anymore. You have a long, happy life ahead of you now. Hyrule is going to flourish under your care. You don't have to worry about me."
"I know." Luimaya grabbed Leere in a tight hug, and whispered in her ear, "Kaksa said Modoc will take care of you and you'll do one better for the world. Just... don't lose sight of the light."
Leere's eyes flashed with sadness for a moment. Her heart would miss her family heavily here. The deep loving hug from her niece didn't help make the leave easier. Hugging her back, Leere nodded. "I won't. You can't cast a shadow without light after all."
Saying her goodbyes, Leere was led to the castle gates by her family. Smiling, she gave them all a wave goodbye as she set off. Taking a breath, she looked up at the Sun. She hoped she would feel Sunny's warmth once more.

Fall of the Faerens Finale
Tumblr media
The night before had been more of a nightmare for Stephen. Gardenia made it personal to keep him on a tight leash, starve him for the sake of amusement throughout the day-she even tried to pick out his outfit but he actually stood up for himself and showed he had an eye for fashion. He paid for that one but at least during the festivities, he was able to sneak away, into the gardens where he met with Ralnor.
“I have to leave, Ral. I can’t bear this anymore!” Stephen hissed as they hid in one of the few hiding spots he knew of that hadn’t been discovered. He told Ralnor everything, even of his father’s company trying to ally themselves with not just Gardenia’s family but even that of Ralnor’s own fiancè, Azalea. “At least she’s better than Gardenia.”
“You’d think so, but damn she’s a slave driver.” Ralnor piped in as he hugged him. “But yeah, compare how cruel Gardenia Lestrange is to Azalea’s ambition…” No words were needed as Stephen added, “I’ve been thinking of just going to the seas and being done with it. Or to the forest-Ralnor I can’t take it anymore. The voices are so strong-”
“Don’t. You die then I’ll be alone.” Ralnor had shaken him, causing Stephen to wince and even fear he was about to be hit. “Oh Baby…” He was hugged tightly as Stephen shed some tears. Ralnor kissed him deeply and just as Stephen was returning it-a bright flash from a photographer’s camera went off.
Tumblr media
Gasping, Stephen looked up at Ralnor who had the same look of panic.
And for good reason.
The next morning, Stephen found his father in the dining hall. “Fa-Fa-Father?” He hadn’t expect to see Druindar up so early. And the paper…it had the picture of him kissing Ralnor on the front page. Oh no…
The next thing that happened was Stephen getting the worst beating of his life, his father’s insults-
Tumblr media
CRASH!
Stephen looked to see he had thrown the mug against the wall and gasped. Shaking he then realized he was also crying, and just hugged himself, holding his pendant. He remembered what Amun told him, that if he could have-the Faerens would have been killed that day.
Druindar’s beatings though weren’t the worst of that day. Oh no, there had been more…
Azalea had accused him of corporate espionage after rumors of a merger started. Arrested and for a while, Stephen thought that no one would believe him when he told the officers that he had only ever been to the office a few times to talk to her father about other deals with his father’s company. Plus there was no evidence of Azalea’s accusations being true, but the damage had been done.
Stephen was now labeled a thief and rogue, Gardenia made him pay her damages even blackmailed the family only to turn around and expose them for their illegal practices–it was a huge mess. It was raining that night when Stephen returned after a judge threw out the case. He came back mostly to just grab whatever he could from his room, but oh the insults hurled, the beatings–he had been very lucky to get out alive.

“I’m free.” He said softly and ran to Ralnor’s manor. Surely Ralnor broke off the engagement to Azalea after learning of her falsifying records and falsely accusing him! They could be to…gether? Wait.
Looking inside the manor’s window, he saw them together, toasting. And the words he heard felt like a knife to his heart. “To Vulluin, the easiest of Faerens to fool!” Azalea cackled. “Ugh, a year wasted on him; now that’s something to mourn.”
He couldn’t believe it let alone want to. Knocking on the door, both Ralnor and Azalea answered, then laughed at him. “You were so stupid-did you really think Ralnor…Oh Bran, you did! You really thought that Ralnor loved you!” Azalea cackled as Stephen just stood there dumbfounded. Azalea continued until he snapped at her.
“SHUT UP BITCH!” That took her back as he looked at Ralnor. “You betrayed me…why?! Why the HELL DID YOU DO THAT?!”
Tumblr media
Ralnor looked at him with a cold smirk and that was a punch in the stomach. “You’re a Faeren, Vulluin. If you weren’t, maybe things would have turned out differently. I did like you, you’re a sweet kid. Wasn’t lying about that or what I thought of you personally.”
It was more than Stephen could bear and he didn’t fight security who escorted him off the grounds.
He wandered for hours until Agatha’s voice rang out from the storm. “Vulluin!!” Turning around, he almost didn’t recognize her. Agatha looked so much older, paler-yet she ran to him and hugged him. “Vulluin, oh Honey I’m so sorry! We just got back from the hospital-”
“You were right.” He said. Stephen had no life left, he was defeated and just done. “I never should have dated him…never should have revealed anything.” Stephen didn’t see the anguish in her eyes as she held him. But it was clear-this was all too much for him to process right now. Stephen then was shaken a little by Alphonse helping him into the car they had ‘borrowed’ from their employer. “I can’t-”
“We’re not taking you back there, Vulluin.” Stephen flinched at his name and explained that he no longer was entitled to it. It had been stripped from him by Druindar and Zentha. “Nevertheless, you’ll never have to return.” Alphonse continued when he handed the young elf a duffle bag. Opening it, Stephen to his surprise saw his clothes and those that meant a great deal as well as money and a ticket that would get him out of New York.
“Alphonse-”
“Take it, Son. Take it and never return to this Godforsaken place. Use the money to get out of here, start a new life for yourself.” Agatha spoke softly yet firmly. “Listen to the voices within you, but please never come back here. Alphonse and I never want to see you here…there is nothing left for you. Not even us, Sweetheart.” Now he saw the anguish in her eyes as she spoke those words. “Alphonse and I have lived a good life, and the Gods blessed us once more when you came into our lives. But you must flee from here. We love you and wish you the best.”
The old man sniffled as he added, “Aggie and I love you as our own. We’ll always love you and as far as the world is concerned, you’re our son. Our youngest.” They cried for almost an hour but soon enough, Stephen had to leave the car before anyone else saw them.
Tumblr media
And that was the last time Stephen ever saw the elderly couple. “I miss you two so much…” He sniffled when he felt Yun’s warmth. It was enough for him to break and he cried quietly into the night, falling asleep on his mattress. A white furry dragon was there next to him, though, always watching; always guarding the elf.

You’re never going to be alone again, My Son. That much, I promise.

Stephen's Kinks
Tumblr media
Stephen has a bit of a public sex kink as well as voyeur thanks to Ralnor and having to sneak around for a year. Outside of these though, Stephen is actually very vanilla, he doesn’t know a lot of other kinks or what else he might be into, thus his partner may have to teach him. Encourage him to test the waters, though Stephen will be scared at first. He is into a lot of foreplay and likes to be teased about being put on display.
If you praise him, Stephen is going to be putty and do whatever it is you ask of him. He loves being praised and it can become addicting for him so… OVERWHELM HIM WITH IT!
He doesn’t realize it yet, but Stephen is into playing the prey or even being the pet. He is happy to learn more about these kinks, explore a bit to see if he’s into playing the predator side; if you have fangs he is going to be putty. Stephen loves the growls and playful bites on his neck, thigh, and even his wrist-he does have a bit of an imagination. There is a bit of an oral fixation, he always has to suck on something (he’s still rather shy about giving blowjobs since he’s been out of practice) and he enjoys giving more than receiving so it may take some time for him to admit that he’s horny and wants some. And surprisingly, Stephen isn’t a brat, just a shy bean who isn’t used to voicing what he wants; everything has always been about his partner.
I give you permission to break that habit. Give him love too, make him beg for release and to be loved on!
Get aggressive with him and he is going to especially if his partner happens to have some animalistic growl.

I tend to sketch more than doing any coloring or lining *sob*
So I’m a big ol fan of the “A Tale of Two Rulers” comic and have been since @figmentforms started uploading it. Which then got me REALLY into the Zelda x Ganondorf parade.
Then I saw their children beyond Rinku (best girl) and have read all of fics about them and now I’m even more obsessed.
I drew Rinku in a sleepy blur this morning so she’s a bit messier but she’s my favorite of the zelgan kiddos and such a goblin in the comic and is the best!!
Ralnor and Kanisa are also my other favorites of the kids from that pair which @s-kinnaly has GORGEOUS art of them all. And Vidar is one of her OCs that really resonates with me and I love him just as much. Today I was just using them as warm up practice and ended up liking the super rough sketches enough to post them. I definitely want to give their creators a little more justice with better fanart eventually
Lastly are the OCs I suddenly started drawing while being inspired by them all fdlsdjsf. Two adventuring/on the run sisters from a mysterious tribe of warriors!

Someday Someplace Chapter 2 Evening Encounters
A Casnor Childhood Romance AU
Just some reminders like 90% of the cast belongs to @s-kinnaly, @ridersoftheapocalypse, and @mrneighbourlove. Also, this an AU of rider’s fanfiction, where Cass and Ralnor meet and fall in love as kids rather than adults. This is fanfiction of fanfiction-seperate timeline going on here. Just to clear up any confusion. One more thing, I edited the bit in the previous chapter about Ralnor’s skin tone since s-kinnaly is designing him with brown skin and I want to keep my works close to what you see in her art. Okay, enjoy the fic!
As Orana sat on her father’s shoulders, she scanned the crowd, hand over her eyes. “No sign of him here,” she called out.
The king shrugged, "Well it was worth a shot. Keep looking, dear."
"Okay, papa!" Orana replied and looked out again into the crowd.
Right next to them, Zelda held Tebanam, Covarog, and Kanisa next to her skirt. “Mama, how come we aren’t yelling Ralnor’s name?” the princess asked. “Isn’t that what we are supposed to do when we lose someone?”
“I can do that!” Orana declared. She took in a deep breath. However, her father clasped her mouth with his hand, silencing her yell.
“It is true. But we are royalty. That adds on other problems in finding.  People could panic if they found out that Ralnor is missing, running around and in searching they might not pay attention and accidentally hurt him. Or people might try to find him, but then hold him for ransom. We are trying to stay as quiet for as long as we can.”
“But I miss him, mama.” Kanisa sighed.
“Me too! We’ve got to get Ralnor back!” Covarog agreed.
“Ral!” Tebanam declared.
“I know darlings. I miss him too.”
“Is he going to be okay, Papa?” Orana asked.
“He will be,” Ganondorf stated, patting her. He then growled, “He will be.”
Zelda walked on over, patting her husband’s side. “Of course he will. We’ll make sure of it. I just can’t imagine what Ralnor is doing right now.
Indeed, with all the Wisdom she held, Zelda would have never imagined her son pulling on a piece of leather with all his might with a Gerudo girl pulling on the other end. All while, her mother narrated the events to a small crowd watching beyond the stall.
“See folks? Resists wear and tear!” Ukuri declared. There were some oohs and awes in the crowd. "You won't find high-quality leather anywhere else!" Then she smirked a bit. "Alright kids, now push!"
Ralnor took a step before straightening up. He looked up at the woman and asked her “What?” However, he failed to look back in time to see Cass ram into him, sending them both into the ground. Ukuri and crowd burst into laughter.
"Well, that's something you don't see every day!” The Gerudo woman chuckled. “So anyone interested in some leathers?”
As the merchant took in some orders, Ralnor watched the little triforce pieces swirling around his head.
“I’m sorry,” the girl lamented, still on the ground and eyes on the ground.
Ralnor shook his head, scattering the pieces away. He smiled, “It’s okay. I’m used to it. Sometimes my siblings and I get excited when it comes to group hugs.”
“What’s a sibling?” Cass asked.
“You know, it’s a brother or a sister.”
“Oh, you sure do know some fancy words Ralnor.”
“Just from books that I read.” The boy blushed, rubbing the back of his head. That is when his stomach gurgled, his cheeks pink. “Sorry.”
“Hey, when your tummy’s hungry its hungry.” Cass shrugged. “No need to blush.”
That is when Cass’s stomach roared, her own cheeks turning pink.
“Whoa is there a monster in your belly?" Ralnor asked.
“Shut up.” Cass mumbled.
“Well looks like I’ve got some hungry little kiddos on my hands.” Ukuri beamed, turning to the kids while filling her bag. She picked up a silver rupee and handed it to Cass. “How about you get us some grub?”
"Okay, mommy."
“Grub? Like bugs?” the boy flinched and twisted
“No, she means food." Cass giggled. "You may know the fancy words, but I guess I know some fun ones. She patted him on shoulder, “Don’t worry, I’ll teach you everything I know." She fidgeted with her belt, revealing a small pouch and slipped the rupee inside. "Any requests?"
“I’ll take some cuckoo. You kids get whatever you want.”
“Yeah!” The girl cheered and took the boy’s hand.
“At least something that resembles real food. Not too many sweets or candy. I will be checking all pockets when you too get back.”
“Ugh! Fine!” the girl groaned.
“Ralnor I think you need to keep an eye on her for me,” the mother commented with a smile.
“Don’t worry ma’am I will.” The boy replied.
Just as the two children slipped out the back, a knight appeared at the stall. Ukuri jumped a bit, then took a deep breath and straightened out her skirt.
“Good day my lord. How may I help you today?”
"Pardon me, ma'am. There is a slight emergency I must announce. There is a missing noble boy and his family is dreadfully worried about him. He has blonde hair and blue eyes and is wearing green clothes. Has anyone seen a child like that?"
The group of customers shook there or murmured no.
Ukuri huffed, “A boy with blonde hair? In this country? Sorry, I think you are looking for a needle in a haystack.”
“Well, keep your eyes open. Any and all information would be appreciated.” The man gave a slight bow and left.
When the crowd left, Ukuri grabbed a rag and rubbed the shelf a little too hard. “Typical. Some rich bastard’s brat goes missing and they’ll send out the guard. Meanwhile, a Gerudo girl goes missing and no one gives a damn.” She then glanced at the door. “Nah, couldn’t be.” She murmured, still scrubbing.
The kids glanced all around at the stalls. Food descriptions.
“See anything you like?” Cass asked.
“I’m not sure…” Ralnor admitted.
“Well, I think I found a stall with cuckoo for Mommy. Maybe there’s something for you here.”
The two children stood in line, glancing at the large black sign with all the foods and prices in white. “Aw sweet! They’ve got onion rings!” the girl declared. “Those are my favorites.”
“Okay…” the boy stared at the sign. His eyes scanning around, not settling on any of those words.
“Anything wrong?” Cass asked.
“Well…I don’t know what any of these things are,” Ralnor admitted.
Cass blinked at the boy and started to laugh her head off. “Aw man Ralnor. You are a riot!" She continued to laugh until she looked at the blank face of the boy. "You are actually serious, aren't you?"
“Yes.”
"Oh, Ralnor. I’m sorry. I mean, I thought you were a rich kid, but wow,” Cass pondered, hand now on her cheek.
“Mama usually only lets us have sweets at fairs or after dinner.” He admitted. “We sometimes can get Papa to give us snacks though when we are working on homework.
“Don’t you worry.” Cass pulled him in, arm around his shoulders. She patted her chest. “I am what you call a cuss-ne-sir of outdoor foods. Just ask me.”
“I think the word is connoisseur.”
Cass smirked, “ Okay smarty pants. Just read off some foods and tell you what they are. I’m sure there’s something you’ll like.”
“Okay…what is…a cheese frit-ter?”
“Oh, that's cheese covered in a batter and all fried up."
“Fried?”
“They take something like grease or fat or butter and boil it, and then they put food into it until gets all nice and crispy. Anything else?”
“What’s a Stuffed Spud?”
“That’s a potato that’s been baked and then put all kinds of good stuff in it. Sour cream, chives, cheese, bacon bits, butter-it’s really good.”
“Uh…I don’t eat bacon…”
“Me neither. Mom says it’s a Gerudo thing. You order your own fixings so it’s fine.”
“Maybe…what are fries?”
“Okay, now I’m starting to get worried about your lifestyle. Fries are potatoes cut up into strips and fried up. They make a great snack and usually come with a lot of meals.”
“So then what’s a grilled cheese?”
Cass sighed, “Let me ask you a question, you do know what a cheese sandwich is right?”
“Of course I do!”
"Just checking.” The girl stepped back, palms shielding her. “I was starting to think you came from like a different world or something. Well, grilled cheese is basically a cooked cheese sandwich. You just put in a pan until you burn the bread a bit and melted the cheese.”
“Well, I think I’ll take a grilled cheese then. With some fries too.”
“Excellent choice! Trust me, you’ll love it!”
The children ordered their food and weaved their way through the crowd. When the two children returned to the stall, Ukuri sighed. “Thank the goddesses! For a while there I thought I had two lost children on my hands.”
“Here you go Mommy, fried cuckoo wings!” the girl offered up the paper box overflowing with wings and fries.
"Thanks, kiddo. I'll go shut the stall and we’ll dine in the back.”
Right after the woman lowered the blind, closing them off to the word, a large stomping rattled the stall. “Yeesh, some customers," Ukuri grumbled. She then turned to see her daughter starting to take one of the hangings off the wall, food on one of the higher boxes, and Ralnor glancing around, checking the boxes.
“What are you looking for kiddo?” Ukuri asked.
“A napkin,” the boy responded.
“What for? We haven’t even started eating.” Cass stated giving the fabric one last tug before it fell on top of her.
“You can’t eat a meal without a napkin. Maybe a snack, but a not a meal.” Ralnor countered.
“Let me guess one of your mother’s rules?” Ukuri asked.
“Yes, ma'am. Plus I don’t want to get crumbs or stains on the hanging.”
“Kid let me tell you something, I learned when I lived with my mama.” The merchant knelt down, large arm wrapping the child close. “As long as your mama is not around, she won’t mind if you get a little messy. I’ll make sure you’re clean enough for her. Plus, Cass and I eat and sleep on these things all the time. I know how to get any stains out.”
Cass popped her head, hanging wrapped around her . “It’s true,” she declared.
“Are you sure? I really don’t want to make a mess.” He gazed up with wide, nervous eyes.
Ukuri sighed and smiled, “Well, I've got some rags upstairs that will do the job just fine if you want one.
"Yes, please. Thank you.”
“No worries hun. You are so sweet.”
As Ukuri left, Cass commented as she laid down the hanging, "Wow you got one of those strict fancy moms.” She then grabbed the boxes off the boxes and sat down.
The boy sat down next to her, he admitted.“She does kind of get mad when my siblings and I pull pranks or bring mud in the house or when we stay up late. But she always makes us feel better when we get bullied and really loves to help us with our homework.”
“She sounds nice, but I think I’ll take my mom any day of the week,” the girl said and then offered the boy his box.
The boy sat the box on his lap, cautiously took the sandwich with both hands. “I’ve never had anything so…wet and sticky…” He mentioned.
Cass chomped down on an onion ring as she spoke, “That’s called grease. It’s what the cook the food in. Just take a bite, it’s gonna not kill ya. Trust me. I’ve eaten this stuff plenty of times.” She then swallowed, a series of coughs following.  Cass pounded on her chest until she started breathing again.
“Okay…” Ralnor glanced at his friend nervously before looking at the dark sandwich in front of him, cheese slightly oozing out of the crust and took a small bite. The gooeyness of the warm cheese and the crunchiness of the bread filled his mouth. After swallowing, the boy said in awe, “This is good.”
"See, nothing to worry about," Cass stated. "Welcome to unhealthy-ish foods.”
“Ish?” Ralnor repeated.
“Because well cheese and bread are good for you, right? But, some people say all the healthy stuff gets lost when you fry foods like this. But I think still think there’s some left. Maybe not that much, but still some.”
Ralnor laughed. “I really like the way you think Cass.”
“Thanks.” The girl admitted, beaming.
As Ralnor continued to eat, he heard something hitting the ground repeatedly. That’s when he noticed the two dogs in the corner of the stall. The large white dog with almost green was wagging his tail, panting at the two of them. The black dog stared silently at them.
“Uh..what’s up with your dogs?”
“Oh, they always do that when it's meal time,” Cass shrugged. “Daddy used to let them have leftovers of their meals, just try looking away and you should be okay."
“Alright,” the prince stated as he turned around and tried to concentrate on his food. However, the sound of panting only got louder. He turned around slightly to see the larger dog right up in his face. "Hi, doggie," Ralnor greeted. Then the tog bit the crust out of his hand, tugging it away. He then sat down and started to chew on the leftover sandwich. “Hey!” the boy cried out.
“You gotta be careful around Noishe,” Cass commented. “He’ll take what he wants without warning. Gotta stay sharp.”
“What about that dog?” Ralnor pointed to the thin, black dog still in the corner.
“That’s Repede. He’s the quiet one. He doesn’t cause trouble much unless you have something you want.”
“Like what?”
Before Cass could reply, the dog slipped over, his head on the girl’s lap. Cass managed to grab her box of food before he could grab a piece.
“Fries for one thing.” The girl muttered as she patted his head. “Come one bro. Mommy doesn’t want you to have too much human food. You are not as young as you used to be.”
The dog growled a bit and started nuzzling her stomach.
The girl started to laugh, “Okay, just one more piece.” And she plucked off a fry and put it right in front of the dog’s mouth. The canine eagerly took the piece and started to eat.
Ukuri walked into the stall, some rags draped over her arm. “Cass, you better not be feeding the dogs cooked food again. You know its not good for them.”
“I’m just showing Ralnor what not to do around the dogs when they want food.”
“Really?” Ralnor asked.
Cass shushed him, “Come on Ralnor, just go along with it.”
“Sure you are, and that is not the sound of the dogs’ chewing.” Ukuri lamented as she sat down handing a rag to her guest. She then reached for her food still on the counter and joined the two children on the mat.
"Well, it's a lesson by trial and error." The girl shrugged.
The woman chuckled shaking her head. “You know Ralnor, I think I might have to save you from my girl. Who knows what kinds of things she’ll teach you if I left you two alone?”
“Like adult words?” Cass suggested.
“What are adult words?” Ralnor asked.
“You know the words that grownups say when they bang their heads on doorways or stub their toes on furniture.” The girl started to beam, “For example…”
Ukuri then picked up her daughter, spilling out onion ring and fry bits and crumbs everywhere, rubbing her hair with her knuckles. “That’s enough out of you!”
"Ack! Aw, come on Mommy! You said it's better to learn now than later! Besides I promised I’d teach him everything I know!"
“I’ll have to put an end to that lesson. For all I know, Ralnor’s mommy might pick me up, put me over her knee, and spank me for letting you teach Ralnor those words. And who knows what she’ll do to you.”
The two dogs eagerly attacked the pieces the food, licking up and chewing on everything they could find.
Ralnor couldn't help but laugh at the scene. He couldn’t help but think, "I still miss Mama, Papa, Covarog, Orana, Kanisa and Tebanam...but Cass and Ukuri they make me feel right at home. I'm really happy I met them. I can’t wait for my family to meet them."
With the sky starting to change into its usual evening red, orange, and yellow, the royal family still didn’t find their missing member. Tebanam napped inside his father’s arms, while the other children clung onto their parents' legs to support them, rubbing their eyes.
“Still no sign of him…” Zelda sighed, patting Kanisa’s bobbing head.
“We will find Ralnor, we can’t lose hope.” Ganondorf countered.
“But we’ve search all over,” the queen retorted. “The only thing left to do is go inside each stall and search.”
“If that’s we have to do, then so be it,” the king commented. “But first, we must take the children home.”
At the mention of them, Covarog, Kanisa, and Orana snapped up. “What?” They all screamed. Tebanam now wide awake by the noise, starting to whimper.
“But we can’t go home yet!” Orana declared. “We haven’t found Ralnor yet!”
“We can’t leave him behind! We just can’t!” Covarog declared.
“We can still help!” Kanisa interjected before a yawn cut her off.
The king smiled, sparing one hand to pat Kanisa’s head. Zelda stroked Orana's and Covarog’s heads. “Yes, but you are also very much exhausted. You need to go to sleep.”
“No, we don't!" Covarog objected with the stomp of his foot.
“Yes, you do." The king then lifted the boy's chin with his fingers. "Don't worry, your mother and I will not stop searching for your brother. We will bring him home. But we also care about you, and you need to get to bed."
“I don’t think that I can sleep…with Ralnor out there….somewhere without us…” Orana sighed, staving off a yawn.
“Well at least, we’ll get you ready and you can try for us? Okay?” Zelda asked.
The three older children glanced at each other frowning. Tebanam grumbled a bit as his father swayed him, calming him down. Covarog sighed, “Okay let’s go home.”
The queen smiled, “I know this is hard. But we will find him soon.”
Covarog took his father’s free hand and the girls took their mother’s. However, just as they started the walk, Kanisa cried out, “That’s it!” digging her heels in the ground.
“Kanisa what’s it?” Zelda asked.
“That’s the stall! The one that Ralnor left for! It’s that one!” She pointed her free hand, bouncing up and down.
“Are you sure Kani? Looks like all the other plant stalls. What makes this one so special?” Orana asked.
“It’s got the most plants! The others didn’t have that many! If Ralnor didn’t go to this stall, then I don’t know about Ralnor at all!” Kanisa beamed.
The parents looked at each other, “Well it is worth a look,” Zelda admitted and the group headed to the stall. A young man stood in the back, pulling down on the tarp while the old lady still sat in her chair dozing off.
Covarog, Orana, and Kanisa immediately dashed into the stall, calling out “Ralnor!" while going around every pot and ducking under every table.
“Children stop!” Zelda called out.
The young man stopped his motion, staring blankly at the commotion. “Something tells me that you are not here for a houseplant.” He chuckled. Then he saw who he was talking to and gave a small bow, “Uh sorry your majesties. What can I help you with?”
“We are searching for our son Ralnor, brown skin, blonde hair, blue eyes, green clothes. He wandered off earlier today and we haven’t seen him since. We think he might have been here for a while. Have you seen him?” Ganondorf replied.
“Ooh sorry to hear that. Hope you find him. What time of day do you think he left?” The man asked.
“This morning. Before noon,” Zelda answered.
“Shoot. I didn’t see him. Most people don’t want to carry a heavy plant all day, so we don’t do much busy in the morning. I left Ma with the stall while I looked around. She might have seen something. Just hope her working ear is working again.” The man walked toward the old lady and started to yell “HEY MA!”
The woman snapped open, drool slipping out. She glanced around, adjusting her glasses “Who said that?”
“HEY MA! DID YOU SEE A BLOND BOY TODAY?” the man asked.
“Oi tone it down, I’m deaf but I’m not dead. You might raise your father back being that loud,” the old lady gristled.
“Ma, these parents lost their boy. He might have been here. Seen him?” her son asked.
“Boy…boy…boy,” the woman wondered.
The adults continued to stare, leaning closer waiting for her next words. But then the woman's head slipped back and started to snore.
“Ma!” the man called out. However, his mother continued to slumber.  He sighed, “Sorry about this your majesties. I wish we could help out more.”
Just there was a loud clatter. The royal couple and merchant turned to see Orana, leaning forward with her hand's out wide inches away from a broken pot, laying on its side.  Clay pieces and soil scattered on the ground, while a scrub bush lay helplessly on its side, roots exposed. "Whoopsie…" The princess stated.
“Orana!” Zelda called out.
“I’m sorry! I swear I just bumped it!” Orana stated.
“It’s okay, I needed to replant that one anyway,” the man replied.
“We’ll pay for the damages.” The king declared.
“No your majesty, it’s fine,” the merchant insisted.
As the three adults haggled over the pot, the princess made her way over to the little old lady, staring into space. The girl placed her hand on her lap. “I’m sorry I broke your pot. I’ll pay for it with my allowance.” She then dug into a small bag at her side.
The woman turned towards the child and smiled. "Ah what a sweet child. How can I ask money from such a kind soul? After the way you help that little girl earlier too. Don't worry. My son broke many a pot when he was your age."
“Little girl?” Orana asked.
“You know that cute little blonde you ran into. She came in here and you two ran around chasing each other. Then when she was crying you comforted her and took her away. I bet you have been friends for a long time.”
“You don’t think…” Orana glanced at her siblings.
“Can you tell us about this blonde girl?” Kanisa asked.
“Of course! One of the cutest children I’ve seen. Silky blonde hair, gorgeous blue eyes, green clothes, and the loveliest brown skin. Really put my kid to shame.”
"Thanks, mom I feel loved,” the man sighed.
“Where did I…and the blonde girl go?” Orana asked.
“Not sure…just saw you going to the left.” The old woman shrugged.
“Mama, Papa do you think that if we find the other girl we might find Ralnor?” Covarog asked.
"Well, it's the best lead we've had all day," Ganondorf admitted.
“Hope you find your kid soon.” The merchant stated.
“Thank you. Come on kids, let’s find your brother!” Zelda declared.
As the royal family left, the woman adjusted her glasses, sighing “What a lovely family. Mother’s a bit hairy though…”
The merchant laughed and placed a hand on her shoulder, “Ma don’t ever change.”
Ralnor and Cass watched out of the stall window, using their crossed arms as cushions as they rest their hands.
“Still nothing?” Cass asked.
“Yes,” Ralnor sighed.
“Sorry. I really thought we had a good spot and you’d find your family like that,” Cass stated with a snap.
“Well, I’m glad I’m here. If you hadn’t been at the stall, I probably just sat at the stall with that old lady, crying how my family left me. I’ve had a lot of fun today. Thanks for taking me in,” the boy leaned in.
“No problem, what are friends for?” Cass wrapped her arm around him, pulling him closer.
Ukuri stepped in, patting Ralnor on the shoulder. “Don’t worry. We’ll find your folks. I’ve just a couple of things to pack away and the dogs to put upstairs, then we can look around. You two kids head outside.”
"Yes, Ma'am."
"Okay, mommy."
Just as the kid’s reached the outside of the stall, Cass stopped, “Huh…I just realized I never asked what your parents look like.”
"My parents tend to stand out in a crowd, especially my papa. You'd know them the moment you see them."
“Probably, but not all Gerudos look alike. Some are tall, some are really tall, some are thin or fat, but we are all Gerudo. So what do your daddy and mommy look like?"
"My papa…"
“Ralnor!”
The children turned to see Orana and Kanisa running at them, arms open wide.
“Orana! Kanisa!” the boy cheered, opening his arms wide as well.
The two princesses tackled their brother, almost hitting him to the ground, knocking off his hat.
“Oh Ral, we're sorry we left you behind. We thought Mama and Papa knew you were at that plant stall!" Orana explained.
“We’ve missed you so much!” Kanisa sniffled, clutching her brother tightly.
“I’ve missed you too!” the boy eagerly returned their embrace, a few sniffles coming out.
"Sweet! That's one part of your family down!"
The reunited trio turned to the Gerudo girl smiling at them, hands on her hips.
There was a moment of silence before Orana yelled, “It’s a Gerudo girl!”
"Yes." The boy stood up and displayed his hand out.  "This is my friend Cass. We met at the plant stall and she and her mama took me in so I can look for you.” He used his other hand to display his family. Cass these are my sisters, Orana and Kanisa.”
“Nice to meet ya.” Cass offered a hand.
Kanisa gaped for a bit, before hiding behing her brother. She still stared in awe of the girl as she sqeauked out a hello.
Orana beamed and grabbing Cass’s hand with both of her own, shaking it violently . "Hi, there! Thanks for taking care of our big bro!"
Cass, still shaking from the girl’s grasp, tilted her head,“ Bro?”
“Ralnor!”
Just then the group of children turned to see Zelda dashing towards them.
“Mama!” he yelled and ran towards her and jumped right into her arms. Now sobbing, he nuzzled his head against her chest. “I’ve missed you so much.”
The force from her son caused Zelda to sit down, cradling her boy, “I’ve missed you too! I’m sorry we left you behind.”
“It’s okay. Next time I’ll double check with Papa.” He raised his head, smiling.
She beamed and kissed his forehead, “You smart thing you.”
The queen set her son on the ground and stood up. He took her hand and led her to Cass. “Mama, this is my new friend Cass. She found me at the stall and let me stay with her mama until I can find you.”
"I am so happy that my son is making such wonderful friends. Thank you so much for helping him." She knelt down, looking the girl in the eyes, smiling.
The Gerudo girl’s jaw dropped. She tugged her hand out of Orana’s and pointed at Ralnor.  She yelled, “YOU LIED TO ME!”
Ralnor blinked and squeaked out, “What?”
“You said you were a Gerudo. But you are not!" Cass pointed at Zelda. "You can only be a Gerudo if your mama! And she’s not! She’s the exact opposite!”
“Yes, we are! We are just as Gerudo as you!” Orana declared.
“No, you are not! Besides he’s  a boy!” Cass pointed to Ralnor. “There’s no such thing as a boy Gerudo!”
“Nuh-huh there’s Ganondorf!” Kanisa stated.
“Children please calm down.” Zelda ushered.
“Ganondorf’s not a Gerudo! He’s just a monster!” Cass roared, stomping her foot.
“Ralnor!”
The arguing group stopped to see Ganondorf stomping towards them, Tebanam still on his chest and Covarog trailing behind. The king scooped up his son and started to kiss his face.
“Papa!” The boy eagerly wrapped his arms around his neck.
“Cass this is our Papa, Ganondorf.” Orana declared. “So we are just as Gerudo as you!” Orana folded her arms on her chest.
“Yeah!” Kanisa agreed with her hands on her hips.
At the mention of his name, he looked down and saw the Gerudo girl. His jaw dropped slightly and eye widened with joy.
The same couldn't be said for Cass. She started to turn as pale as a sheet. Then let out a blood-curdling scream. Once the royal family could hear again, she slumped over on the ground.
“Cass!” Ralnor cried out. He climbed down his father’s front and knelt next to the girl. He flipped her over and patted her cheek, but she still didn’t wake up.
“What’s wrong with her?” Orana asked.
“Cass!”
The group now saw Ukuri, standing a few feet away from them, holding her head in her hands. She dashed over and picked up her daughter. “Cass, monkey, sweetie. Please wake up!” She shook the girl slightly, but still no response.  The mother twisted towards Ralnor. “What happened to her?”
“I don’t know!” He replied anxiously.  “She just looked at my Papa and screamed and fell over!”
“Papa?” That’s when the Gerudo woman noticed the king standing before her. She, too, turned and slumped over, still holding her child.
“Mrs. Ukuri!” Ralnor cried out. He then looked up at his father, tears clouding his eyes. "Papa…did you kill them?
"What no!" The king declared but it was too late. Ralnor now bawled his head off.
"We can't leave them like this," Zelda commented. "We'll take them back to the castle."
Ganondorf picked up both Gerudo women in his arms. All along the way back to the carriage and in the carriage ride to the castle, Ralnor kept glancing at his new friends. Hoping they would be alright.

Was leere ever in the running to rule hyrule and if so how would she have done has the ruler of hyrule
Despite being the oldest by age, Leere was never going to be in the running to rule Hyrule due to a number of various factors. As an adopted child that wasn't even of Hyrule, the opposition of the religious and noble factions would have been fierce against the royal family. Secondly, despite being loved by her father, Ganondorf would never put her on the throne before his own first born, and if anything happened to Covarog, Ralnor would have taken his place, and so on and so forth. Finally, the idea of ruling just never appeased Leere. The pressure of being charge of a kingdom of various cultures of people is something she'd never want for herself, not to mention the feeling that the unlucky tragedies that followed her would somehow bubble up to effect all of Hyrule.
Despite these circumstances, Leere did learn the education required to rule just like any of her siblings to lead not just from throne, but as a princess in general. She did have responsibilities that she took on for the betterment of Hyrule, and if anything tragic would have befallen her parents while the rest of her siblings would have been too young to rule, Leere would have taken the throne with great humility until her siblings were ready themselves.
Now if Leere was crowned the leading monarch, I imagine her rule would have been a hard road ahead of her. The most realistic conditions to be made Queen would have had to come from incredibly tragic circumstances by losing her family. For this example lets use the War of Fire with the Kikai Empire and lets say the end of the war was far more costly then how it would have ended normally. Zannah's kidnapping of Kanisa was instead a successful assassination of the entire royal line of children. This would have lead both Zelda and Ganondorf to be far more ferocious in their response, but also more reckless. The end result of the war is a final conflict that results in the fatalities of the entire Hasai race, Queen Zelda, and King Ganondorf. As the flames of conflict come to an end, Leere is left with a scarred kingdom and a broken home.
As the last family she has left and being less of a princess than even Leere, Rinku would help her adoptive sister in ruling where she could. Leere would take the throne and title of Queen, burning a fire under the asses of any who would object to the title without her being married. For the Necromancer, she would insist that what Hyrule needed was to project any image of strength they could, and her being labeled Queen would go a long way to do so. Next, would be allocating resources to rebuild the damage to the kingdom, both physically and spiritually.
Leere would create a policy of the living respecting the dead to a further degree then Hyrule already does. Pacts would be called upon that the dead would serve the living in a time of crisis, and in return the dead would receive constant tribute of respect and love. Heavy crimes would be punished with swift severity, and brutal examples would be made to anyone who would harm children.
Whose to say how key events like the conflicts with Vul'kar, the Frost King, or Chaos would go isn't exactly black and white. Leere would have an interesting fight on her hand as Queen with Vul'kar, but being allies with the Lorliedians could turn the tide. She might even be able to stop the Abyssians from being unleashed from the trench before they were ever released in the first place. The Frost King would either win outright with the Direnor's not wanting the help of another Necromantic ruler, or Leere would have in engage in very brutal and very even conflict with the Frost King. By the time of the rise of Chaos, unless a different host for Balance were to rise, it would most likely be the end of Hyrule under Leere's rule.
As far as succession would be concerned, Leere might be the first ruler of Hyrule in a long time to either A. Not be married. Or B. Have many, many concubines. To the disappoint of many nobles of the old era, most of these concubines would be women. Unless Leere learned the techniques to shapeshift her form, she would not be able to sire royal children of her own bloodline, not that wouldn't stop her from adoption if need be. Although unlikely, there is a possibility of Bonegrinder or Sunny being found and married in this timeline could happen. With Zannah dead, the smartest choice Leere could make politically would be to offer marriage to Queen Annuciata of Danjur for a union of their kingdoms.
From the outside looking in, and even with many of her own people, Leere's popularity would be low, especially with her openly supporting the dark arts and the spirit realm. The only true friends she'd be able to count on would be the likes of Rinku and the Skull Kid, with the likes of Ghirahim and Vaati being dangerous but powerful advisors, the former having little reason to follow her lead with Ganondorf dead outside of a curiosity at how his King's protegee would last, and the latter constantly being given favours to stay and give his help. Despite this, Queen Leere would give her all for the kingdom, even if there may be little happiness for herself, or thanks received.

Stephen’s secret and ex-boyfriend.
Unlike the Faerens or those in their circle, Ralnor is a dark moon elf being one of the few born males with the lavender skin tone. He is the eldest son in his family, poised to take over. He was raised to take revenge on the Faerens and was left to do it however he pleased.
Described as a combination of Disney villains Dr. Facilier and Scar, Ralnor is seen as Stephen’s foil. He had genuinely liked Stephen, maybe even having fallen in love while getting to know him throughout their relationship; unfortunately still chose revenge and used Stephen to do so. He did however make sure that the abuse was exposed to the world, wanting Druindar to pay for what he had done to Stephen.
He is methodical and said that if he had lived in the times of Sparta, he would have easily made it to general. And though not any better than Azula or the others, Ralnor ‘s abuse method on Stephen was through emotional manipulation and gas-lighting the other. Actions he does regret and hopes that in time, he maybe forgiven. He is rather though toxic when with his now wife, Azalea so it may not happen.
If he and Stephen meet again, it is very likely that he will meet Yun which might be A VERY BAD IDEA.
Ralnor does employ the Faerens’ former servants including Alphonse and formerly Agatha, who passed away a few months after Stephen left New York due to heart failure. He later learned that Agatha had made a deal with the Celtic Gods that involved her trading her life for Stephen’s freedom. Since then, he takes it easy on Alphonse without Azalea noticing aware that the elder man may not have much longer to live.

"She has her reasons to stay here, and so long as I could still visit her then I don't truly see a problem... unless it will negatively impact my own health to be in Hell?" Because getting sick himself would cause a whole other array of issues that he was sure neither one of them wanted to deal with.

"Dat a good question and Da or Papa are the ones we'll need to ask. And as fer visitin' her, I see no problem with it since Régime will be askin' fer us to come back fer the same." He had a feeling that Aki would be alright, his fathers would cast something to protect their son-in-law. "Ah, I should also let ye know dat me siblings are wantin' to meet ye in person when it's possible."
Now, all four have heard Aki on the phone, but meeting the cat who has stolen their brother's heart is another thing. And Ivory, the one who looks nearly identical to Yun, was rather insistent on it. Apparently they donna trust too easily after they learned what happened to me and Ralnor.
