Thinking about autistic Riku…

Riku who wasn’t diagnosed until after he became a keyblade master, and that was only because Merlin took one look at him and was like “oh my sweet summer child.”

15yr old Riku at the peak of his masking having actual fits of physical rage in his bedroom that he doesn’t really have an answer for other than “today was hard” that are actually meltdowns. We’re talking throwing things, braking shit, rocking and hair gripping. The whole nine yards.

Riku who struggles comprehending why his friends make plans and then don’t follow them through. Like building the raft. They said they were going to do it, so he was doing it. Why was he the only one taking it seriously?

Riku who’s grasp on humour and sarcasm is good up to a point. Meaning he knows how to do it himself, but if it’s directed at him it takes him a hot second to sus it out. He usually ends up giving actual explanations to people for their sarcasm, even though he’s registered what it was, and then gets told “I was joking”. Which fustrated the hell out of him because he KNEW that!!

Riku who has really bad light sensitivity and it’s part of the reason he keeps his hair long for such a long time. Sometimes he kind of wishes he could have the blindfold back.

Riku who despite purposefully keeping his hair long, spends nearly every day tying it back because it’s too much, then taking it down because that’s too much, then putting it back up and taking it back down until he seriously considers taking a pair of scissors to it.

Riku who doesn’t like to be touched unless he’s initiating the touch. Sora is the ONLY exception to that rule, but even then Riku has days when he moves out of Sora’s hold because it’s too much.

Riku who’s special interest is Gummi ships and is VERY happy when they go to see Cid and the RGRC because Cid is the only one that can keep up with his 1000mph rants about mobility blocks and rotation weaponry.

Riku who values silence, and no one can figure out how he deals with Sora’s constant stream of chatter, until he one day moves his hair back to show Mickey the earplugs in his ears. He felt guilty about it for a long time until Sora told him he already knew about the plugs and didn’t mind, he just like being with him.

Riku who likes to play with kairis hair but can’t abide having his own hair touched.

Riku who will usually eat anything but if you give him avocado he will have the biggest sensory ick moment you’ve ever seen. Same goes for mushrooms.

Riku who steadfastly refuses to sleep in fuzzy PJ’s because “no thanks I’d rather be flayed alive, it would be less stressful.”

Riku who, at aged 8, told kairi that if she put that scarf around his neck he would “absolutely start screaming” and then did when she insisted he’d catch cold. Scarfs are demon cloths.

Riku who would rather sit at the back of squalls office in the corner while the other man works, than sit in the science lab with everyone else because Squalls office is quiet and he likes that Squall says what he means.

Riku who ignored his own emotional, physical and sensory needs/wellbeing for months while looking for sora and ended up having a meltdown in front of Mickey and master YenSid.

Riku who now has an app on his Gummiphone that Cid, Squall, Even and Ienzo designed to help him build routine and regulate/track his emotional well-being.

He relies of the breathing exercises game a lot in Quadratum.

Riku who is the reason chip and dale created dark mode in phone settings because nobody could figure out why he barely used his phone until he admitted that it always felt like he was looking into the sun.

Riku who has keyblade related Stims, like tapping the flat of the blade with his nails or messing with the key chain when he’s stressed.

Riku who also has stims such as: flicking his tongue inside his mouth while he’s thinking; twirling strands of his hair incessantly; scrunching his nose; clicking his fingers when he’s distressed; tapping the toe of his boot against the opposite heel when he’s stood still; imperceptible swaying; holding his thumb knuckle gently between his teeth; soft popping noises with his mouth; tapping his palms with the tips of his fingers.

Why not: He's fuckin' dead, dude.

Technically, Zack has already appeared in KHΨ, but only in that he was murdered immediately after Sephiroth grabbed him in the credits of Birth By Sleep. Zack was originally from Radiant Garden, and died in the strange Sephiroth-dimension that Seph-dawg drags Cloud, Tifa, and Sora into during the KH2 flashback in Loose Ends. You could say he has a cameo role, since he's discussed amongst the RGRC and Aqua, and he definitely played a role in events prior to the series proper, just not a large or all that important one.

KH DnD: Between Dawn to Dusk Session 18 Summary

Two hours after leaving Radiant Garden, Blank shares his concern for Kairi and the others, questioning if he should have come. The others assure him that everything is okay.

Jason notices that his gummiphone starts ringing. When he answers it, the phone flashes a bright light and Chirithy appears.

Chirithy explains that the situation at Radiant Garden has calmed down. They explain that Leon had asked the guild for aid with a Nobodies situation that the RGRC was having but due to the Vanitas situtation, Leon never recieved the aid he needed and the Nobodies managed to burst into Radiant Garden. Kairi is currently doing damage control as the incident hasn't put the guild in a good light to the council and the Radiant Garden residence.

Rotti asks on any news on Webby as Huey, Dewey and Louie had gone to ask them for help. Chirithy explained the boys had come for their aid as Webby is currently ill in bed. When Ven went to check it out, he found corrupted markings on her back. They explained that they will keep an eye in the situtation, especially with Scrooge McDuck on their case about it.

Chirithy reminds the group to focus on the task given to them by the Masters. Chirithy does give a message to Blank from Kairi, saying 'No matter where they go, everyone hear is with them'.

Rotti mentions their food storage to Chirithy. Making the spirit bring them some food supplies before disappearing.

Blank, who has regained his focus, brings up the nagivation to show the options they have. He explains that due to distance are from the worlds, they only have basic for the time being.

A Festive World with a link to the Realm of the Dead.

A Palace within the Desert

The group decide to go to the first world mentioned. Blank mentioned that it will take under two weeks to get there and suggests that if anyone wants to train, they can use the simulation built in the gummi ship.

Durring the travel time, the group use the time they had to do different tasks.

Batty- Hanged out with Levi, practiced his bard skills in the simulator and listened to some of the music available on the ship to gain some new magically abilities.

Jason- Talked with North in regards of upgrading his keyblade. Learned what materials were needed to make the new keyblade and syncing up with the new drive form that North had develop known as Odin Form.

Rotti- Chatted with Blank about whether they made the right choice in Radiant Garden and learnt how to do repairs in the gummi ship. He would spend most of the jounrey providing food to the group.

Arriving on the outskirts of the world, Blank gathers everyone to the bridge to explain how the gummi ship works. He explains that to help keep the world order, the gummi ship will need to be kept on the outskirts of the world and that someone needs to stay with the gummi ship since they do not have chipmucks to fly their ships. He also explains that in order to achieve their goals, at least three people will need to go down to the world.

Jason, Batty and Rotti voluteer to go. Eden manages to beat Levi in voluteering. The four of them gather their gear and head to the world while Blank, North and Levi stayed on the gummi ship.

Eden, Jason, Rotti and Batty enter the village of Santa Cecilia to see colourful decorations everywhere with autumn petals on the floor, stalls being set up and musicians playing in the square. The group do notice a fox when they enter the village but choose to ignore. 

While walking through the village, a few people look at Batty and Rotti strangely. Eden comments to Jason that they should be aware of the world’s order going toward. When a little girl comes over, she asked if she could hold Rotti, who looks like a soft teddy. Eden and Jason play along and the girl gets to hug Rotti before she goes on her way.

As the girl walks away, the group noticed a hooded figure at the entrance of the village with the same two tailed fox by their side. The figure looked a little panicked and lost.

Eden takes the lead and ask the stranger if they could help them as they were new in town. The group and The Stranger chatted between themselves, see that The Stranger was from another world. While Batty asked if the stranger had seen Aithne, Eden suggested that they come with them for the time being, introducing herself and the group.

The Stranger introduced themselves as Enya and their trusted two tailed fox called Blink. Blink showed off its name as it started to blink jump backwards and towards before warming up to Jason. With an alliance made during this time, the group ended to the square.

Batty ended straight to the fountains to watch the mariachi band play, excited to see and hear so much music and celebration. Blink ruins the fun a little by blinking into the fountain to soak the musicians. 

Rotti looks at the stall and sees another moogle setting up a stall.

The moogle introduce himself as Lom. He explains that he is a travelling merchant that goes from world to world selling and collecting goods.

Rotti starts to ask Lom about the crystal and if he is connected to the moogles back at Raidant Garden but tries to be evasive when Eden came over to the stall. Lom, confused by Rotti’s actions, continues to talk about the crystal to the world can only be found in the Land of The Dead. Lom suggests if they want to find out more about the Land of Thea Dead, they should look for a man called Miguel Rivera, as he tend to tell songs about the Land of The Dead.

Batty approach the soaked musicians with Enya and told them that their music was great, showing them his ukulele. They talk about music, eventually the musicians suggest Batty to go see Miguel as well.

The group gather up at the Rivera’s household to see a young man playing his guitar outside of his home. Eden halts as she listens to the tune that was being played and recognized the song as ‘Simple and Clean’. The group asked if they were Miguel and mentioned that they wanted to know more about the Land of The Dead.

Miguel was reluctant at first but when Eden asks about the song he was playing, he explained that he learnt a song from his friend Sora when he was in the Land of The Dead ten years ago.

Batty compliments Miguel on his music, playing a quick tune too. Miguel takes a closer look at Batty, he asks if he knew a man called ‘Francis’ When Batty confirms that is his father, Miguel explains that his father lives on the outskirts and likes to come down to enjoy the festival and music, which makes Batty freak out.

After coming Batty down, the group asked Miguel if he could help them get into the Land of The Dead after Rotti shows him his corrupted marking and that they are looking for a friend. After a few moments, Miguel agrees to help, telling the others to come back here when the sun starts the set and he goes back into the house.

Group decides to head back to the square for the meanwhile.

The next bit is for Enya only.

Enya sees Blink goes into a dark alley from the corner of her eye. She follows him into the alley and asks Blink what they were doing, referring to them soaking the musicians.

Enya watched Blink turn back into its Unverse form and starts to talk to Enya with Vanitas’ voice coming out of Blink.

Vanitas asks ‘Why she changed her name?’ Enya explain she didn’t want to grab attention like they had planned.

Vanitas tells her that due to her lack of sneaky skills, it will be better to stick together. He instructs her to stick with them to get the crystals and reminds her that if Blink is here to keep an eye on her and to give support, if Blink falls, Vanitas will come.

Enya nods in submission and follows Blink out, watching the fox turn back into its disguised form

Bio: As the leader of AVALANCHE and a resident of Sector 7 slums, Barret wants nothing more than to stick it to Shinra and his mako reactors, and save the planet. But he also equally enjoys and adores spending time with his daughter Marlene, though that isn’t always the case due to him being needed on the front line. Barret is boisterous, short-tempered, motivated and pro-active, thinking of the greater good of the planet but also looking after his AVALANCHE comrades, as he does consider them his pseudo-family as well.

Note: Characterization and timeline will exclusively be from the REMAKE, not the original ( plus my own headcanons but that’s beside the point ). I never played the original, nor do I intend to one day. This is my introduction to this particular game ( not to the universe, though, as I have watched Crisis Core ) and I plan to keep it to this remake and following games. He mainly helps Tifa around the bar by bringing in the goods or as “security”, but he also is an active protester for the good of the planet, volunteering for cleaning up the trash around town as well as attending protests and making donations ( however big or small ) to the groups that need it.                                -----------------------------------------------

I have this headcanon that the first time Axel/Lea ever met the restoration committee Aerith just really brazenly walked up to him and tied his hair back. Then she goes searching for Clouds biking goggles and makes him wear them like a headband.

And then just stands there looking at him.

Tifa walks in from the bar and nearly launches an entire jar of tips at his head screaming “your supposed to be dead bitch!” And Axel’s all like “WhAt ThE hElL iS gOiNg On?!?”

Meanwhile cloud comes sneaking up with a red eyeliner pen and draws lines under Axels eyes; stares at him expressionless and then just whispers “spooky”.

Nobody ever explains this to Axel. To this day he still doesn’t know what the fuck was going on or why the FF7 gang keep referring to him as the “Reno clone”.

Okay, so it’s far past time I actually wrote up a proper post on this!! I’ve needed to get this down for a while, I’ve only kind of obliquely referenced this stuff before in threads and it needs stated for the record: Ienzo’s feelings on Ansem the Wise and Even as parental figures.

Ansem the Wise was a close friend of Ienzo’s father -- Myrdin Faylis -- and when Myrdin and his wife Cadenza passed away, Ansem took Ienzo in as his ward. It’s official; the paperwork is filed and in Ansem’s office, et cetera, and technically Ienzo is Ansem’s heir and in charge of Radiant Garden at the moment -- something he prefers to simply ignore and let the RGRC handle things, since after what he’s done he doubts he’d be welcome. (Also, the responsibility scares him a little.)

In any case, Ansem the Wise was on paper Ienzo’s adoptive father. On paper. 

Now, I don’t mean to say that Ansem was a bad parental figure! Or that Ienzo doesn’t care a great deal about him -- he does, and feels deeply guilty about what he’s done to the man -- but...Ansem was not a good parental figure, either. He was more...in practice, he was a ‘fun uncle’ type. He’s good with children! He just...was a bit of a child himself, in a way. He was very flighty, and prone to not finishing things he started, and having a thousand ideas and not quite managing to put them into practice, and while he did his best to make time for Ienzo, something else would catch his attention and he’d be off again. He cared deeply for the boy, did his best, but he just wasn’t...present, really. He had a hard time being a parent as well as a king and a scientist, and a lot of the time simply  couldn’t manage. He cared, yes, and was there, but he wasn’t...he wasn’t so much a father.

Even, on the other hand. Even was the one who was given responsibility for Ienzo whilst Ansem was busy, and the disgruntled scientist ended up getting invested in the child’s well-being. He wasn’t good at the...physical aspects of caring for a child, like making sure he was fed and put to bed at a reasonable hour -- that’s where the guardsmen came in -- but he ended up caring very, very deeply. He taught Ienzo everything he knew, and it was him in part who gave the boy his voracious appetite for knowledge, though Ienzo ended up focused more on the more esoteric and magical sciences than Even and his hard science. He basically raised Ienzo and filled the gaps Ansem left, and...

Well, Ienzo loves both Ansem and Even (insomuch as he can understand it, being so unused to a heart), but in the end, as much as Ansem is a father figure to him and as guilty as he feels and will always feel for what he’s done -- Even is his father.
