van der linde gang as horse breeds

i love drawing horses so i decided to draw all 24 of the rdr2 gang members as horses. i tried to tie the breed or coat to their character in some way (personality or looks) but some were purely random. i don't really explain my reasoning in this post because i am tired but comment or flick me an ask if you want me to explain.

So I normally favor a shire horse named Bully in my RDR2 playthroughs.

I'll branch out on occasion. There was J Edgar (a Turkoman mare. Yes the name has a story), Gentle Buffoon (a Kentucky Saddler I stole off an O'Driscoll. Bonus points if you know why she's named that), Lightning (the white Arabian), Thunder (a big grey Ardennes), Tank (Belgian draft), and a few others but I always come back to Bully.

Well.

Current playthrough I got a handsome looking Andalusian.

And someone earned their name.

Her name is "Sorry Bastard" (yes I modded out the profanity filter)

Sorry Bastard has:

Ragdolled while slowly walking across a bridge

Ragdolled suddenly while standing still

Thrown Arthur down a cliff

Thrown herself AND Arthur down a cliff and then LANDED on Arthur

Went ass over tea kettle near the trapper at Riggs station (I think a pebble offended her??? Idk) and nearly landed on Arthur

Somehow wandered while I was at the trapper in Saint Denis and got into a courtyard many blocks away???

Can and will spook at any snake in a ten mile radius. Or nothing. Usually spooks at nothing.

Because 1) I started this game 11 years ago and still want to know the story , 2) because there's not a single other MMORPG with english riding and celtic tones ( sorry but RDR2 won't even count, I hate everything western themed especially for horse riding) available, only short old short PC games or small smartphone ones that are somehow enjoyable but don't offer the usual MMORPG feeling, 3) maybe that's petty as fuck but I spend enough money on that thing to not let it go and to still expect to be able to enjoy the product they advertised and for what I paid for. So no, it's not like a free-to-play classic MMORPG that you can easily switch for another similar one.

"But we need to be patient.Be positive." Nah, they need to do their job like any other company instead of making stupid candles. Keep your crappy toxic positivity for yourself. See what being patient and positive with them gave us? More bullshit, poor expensive content, bad excuses and false promises.

Not playing regularly anymore ( more like logging for 1 hour per event just to see if something improved then logging off after you received few invitations for groups and friendship) has an advantage: you saved a lot of SCs.

So I was thinking "If I can't look pretty in the game, why not trying to recreate my Albion Online mount?" Good, one of the irish cobs ( the dark bay one ) looks like it and I happens to have the right amount of money.

Go to Valedale, ok.

Pick the horse, ok.

Find a name with the ridiculous options they let us, ok.

Find the tack...

WHY ARE ALL THE FUCKING BRIDLES AND SADDLEPADS NOT FITTED FOR THIS POPULAR GEN 3 BREED ?!

And why did you created "medieval" ( let's say Renaissance fair fantasy instead) bridles if you didn't release medieval saddles and saddlepads/covers ?

Here's what I wanted to recreate:

( the AO character isn't mine, I just have a horse, but as a mobile player it's a bit too small and unpractical to make screen captures so I used the Wiki picture instead. My rider IS Cornelia and has long red hair and is a fire mage warrior wearing blue)

Even a "modern" version is impossible as I will be forced to get a vintage bridle for that one. At this point it's ridiculous, the medieval bridles are on the market since 2020 they had 3 fucking years to adapt it to all their gen 3 models ( the other gens I understand they won't, and it's fair). And guess what? The only saddle which can look a bit like a medieval saddle is the new iberian one (not the weird sheepskin one), released in april 2023 and...

SURPRISE ! I doesn't fit the breed !

Same story for the iberian saddlepad but you already guessed it. So... Here's how you get a player, motivated enough to log on that crappy game, to log off instantly.

See, SSO? You suck at SO MANY levels that even your main focus, the horses, only offers a ruined experience. The breed can be from the last gen on the market, if it's not a horse which was released two months earlier, it won't fit some new gear. And it's not only one of the first gen 3 released I'm speaking about, or related to the specialty of the horse breed either, my other "main" horse is the Belgian warmblood, their ultimate sport horse. Well, guess what? This horse, advertised for show jumping... It can't wear the new saddlepads either.

I swear, if not all of my horses, my RDR2 Belgian Draft can't be left in one spot for a full 2-3 minutes, while I complete missions, without needing to be groomed.
