I thought Blu-ray’s were the same as dvds maybe with another quality or something. could I know why you don’t like them? (I love physical media so I’m invested in this story lol)

they basically are!! there's nothing wrong with Blu-ray I just have a personal gripe with it cause I was always a dvd collector even as a kid my parents collected DVDs, and we always avoided Blu ray cause it was the expensive version of the same thing, so I just kinda trained myself to avoid Blu ray and never get a blu ray player..of course NOW it's like "well maybe it's worth it" cause sometimes things are only available on Blu-ray (looking at u, criterion 😭) but I still haven't bought any cause I still think it's stupid even tho over the last 15 years or whatever they've become more popular than dvds.
