physical appearance ––––

HAIR: Dark red, like fire. There are hints of lighter shades of red and gold in their hair too. Their hair extends past their shoulders and is usually adorned with gems and feathers. Some chunks are longer than others as Qesh cuts their own hair with a knife, so it’s not the neatest.  EYES: Light grey-blue, almost white. Missing one. They cut it out to feed to a bird. HEIGHT: 5’3” BUILD: Small frame, lanky with more of a lean cut to them. They are by no means frail but they don’t doesn’t look like they’d do well in a fight…but they are built for speed and agility, not a fistfight. DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Tattoos across their body and face. Almost clan-like, but the lines intersect around gems inlayed in their skin. The tattoos are magic in nature, mimicking the leylines of their body. When they learn a new spell, a new tattoo is added. COMMON ACCESSORIES: Jewelry on their wrists and ankles, bits of feathers hang from their hair and clothes and ears. Sometimes they may wear so much jewelry that it clanks together when they walk. They carry a ceremonial sword. It’s purely just that. It has never seen battle.

In-Depth Details –––-

Aesthetically, I will be pulling from fire, etherial scenes, birds like hawks and owls, some gaelic druidism with some shinto and buddhist inspiration (thanks, dad >.>). Additionally, I will pull from nature, witchcraft, autumn colors, and other things of the like.

Qesh is a seer and druid. They have visions of the past and present and can divine from objects. They have no name for this ability or why it occurs but because of it, they have a specific, special place in their tribe. They’ve always had this divination ability, as long as they can remember. Their tribe is very magic and mystic based, and a lot of their druid-like magic comes from the markings on their body. Each symbol can invoke a specific element. Some can even summon small weapons made from their own aether. They have a small gem set into their forearm as a channel for such magic.

Qesh’s tribe reveres animals as gods, each one serving a different purpose in the world. Qesh in particular has a specific affinity for birds.

With their seer abilities and affinity for birds, Qesh–in a quest for more power–cut out their own eye and fed it to either a hawk or an owl (haven’t decided which yet). With that, they can transfer some of their own aether to that bird. They can use the bird to scout or spy ahead and see through its eyes.

Qesh’s tribe was originally not from the main continent, but further out where the Far East on the map would be in the woods their. Their tribe’s religious beliefs mirror a bit of shinto and buddhist beliefs. However, with the great flood Qesh’s tribe fled to the area around the Rak'tika Greatwood closer to where Tatch’s tribe.

Due to their tribal belief and their own connection with animals, Qesh doesn’t take lightly to poaching or killing of animals. They eat entirely plant-based (they’re vegan haha), and if they come into possession of animal remains, they will deal with them as one might deal with human remains with proper burial. Despite their own beliefs, if traveling with someone outside their tribe, while they won’t eat meat they will make sure that all the parts of the animal see use. Qesh won’t hesitate to hunt down poachers and those that defile and tread on sacred land and will kill them.

Qesh does have a bit of a morally superior, “I’m better than thou” attitude about their view of their world. Their visions, natural gift for magic and “connection to the world” make them believe that they are always right. That they can do no wrong and that they have the answer to any problem–or will be able to come up with the right answer if they can get a moment to think of one.

Due to Qesh’s attitude, they don’t deal with failure well and have been known to be driven to do some….pretty insane things to either stop their bad visions, make sure better visions come true and keep things on or off the path they foresaw.

Despite their prophet-like nature, I don’t see Qesh being very well liked in their tribe. They would be someone who people would go to for an emergency but not because they want to interact with them. They would be seen as very strange. And they are.

Qesh would be the type to randomly wander around, fall asleep in random places. Not wear shoes ever. Their movements would be eerily graceful, almost haunted.

In regards to their tattoos. Since it’s all magic, they’d add tattoos as new spells came to their mind. One spell I want is one that can shift their form to small/medium-sized animals like wolves, dogs, birds, etc. it’d be a difficult spell and one for extreme circumstances.

Anything really, though this is more of a profile post than actually LOOKING for new RP since I am busy IRL. I’d like to delve in to some plot based rp a bit more, make some connections, friends, enemies, contacts. Not looking for ships. I am open to other mystel RPers reaching out for headcanons and plotting, but I am not open for RP at the moment.

14. does your muse usually plan out dates or go with the flow?

For Solenne and Idristan, it tends to be a combination of both. Sometimes they actually plan ahead and go somewhere nice and dress up and stuff. But sometimes “date night” means spontaneous drinking sessions in their own home while they commiserate over how many of their friends make bad life choices. And other times, it involves shedding the blood of their enemies under the moonlight. They like to change it up.

RP!Aden has a heart condition resulting from some RP done early on.  He’s unlikely to see serious consequences from it any time in the next decade, but in the right circumstances it’s potentially fatal.

Merrick suffers from very severe migraines related to his interactions with the Storm.  He also has a number of sensory issues developed after his stint as a POW.

How are children treated as a whole in the tribe? Do they have schools? Hunting grounds? Playgrounds? Do they work or do they play? 

ooc: In Una’to’s branch of the clan children are rather precious. Steps are taken in an attempt to keep the childhood mortality rate down as much as possible for the good of the clan. Often their mothers raise them to know what they need to know to survive in their area of the South Shroud, or the individual clan hamlets will work to raise the children depending on the their duties and focus as twigs in their branch.

For Una’to specifically as a sickly child he wasn’t expected to live as long as his siblings and generally was coddled by Una until the curse hit him and his siblings all at once. His hamlet out of all the twigs that make their branch was much more focused on religious practice and story weaving. It’s why I have pieces of him saying prayers when he’s worried or doing spell work related to more modern adaptions of casting curses. Though thaumaturgy is frowned upon and seen as an ill omen in the clan it’s what Una’to knew intuitively growing up. Any one with a sense of magic in the clan was raise to be healers, so most of his days were spent studying conjury. His siblings on the other hand were being taught to hunt and survive in the case of Una’a (now Nyr), or how to hunt and become priestesses if not matrons in the case of his twin sisters. Otherwise they were very free to play in the woods and creeks around the hut they called home. Work and learning were often one in the same.

I have it set up in my mind and in a pdf that the clan worked as house cat colonies do. So there is a circle of hamlets that are also set up in such a sense. Hamlets are a microcosm of the space the clan takes in the woods. So the center of the circle made by these hamlets is mostly shared hunting grounds.They also serve as a place to leave excess for those in the clan who are too sick, weak, old, or unable to hunt can have meals. Children work in the microcosmic hamlet in this sense to bring their small kills home or to leave them in their hamlets personal center for those lacking in food. Depending on the hamlet however food may be more scarce than others depending on the season, and thus no stores kept to feed all who can’t hunt at times.

Psychological Archetypes: Mai Takeda

The Warrior

One very essential part of our journeys of self-exploration is to understand the underlying motivations that drive a lot of our behavior.

We have the freedom to pursue whatever we desire, but we don't have the freedom to choose that which we desire. Have you ever wondered why you want, feel, think and behave the way you do? By analyzing your unconscious mind, you can dig to the very roots of why you are the way you are.

Psychologist Carl Jung developed a human psyche theory of "archetypes" (from the Greek words archein, which means "original" and typos, which means "pattern, model or type"), and it was in this theory that he developed the notion that our minds used "universal images" that lead to distinct psychological behaviors. These behaviors were individually acquired but also inherited from the "collective unconscious" (e.g. past life experiences).

Jung proposed that apart from the Universal Self, Shadow, Anima, Animus and Persona archetypes, there were 12 other commonly found ones. Recently, scholar Dr. Carol S. Pearson and psychologist Dr. Hugh Marr developed a system of self-inquiry based on these universal Archetypes in order to help us find ourselves and transform our paths. Pearson and Marr named their method the Pearson-Marr Archetype Indicator® (PMAI).

When we begin to work with archetypes, we can access the meaning we associate with them fairly simply as these archetypes can be found in most Mythology and fantasy stories. Understanding these archetypal inner guides helps us to:

Prepare for our journey of self-discovery by learning how to understand ourselves and our needs.

Embark upon our quest by becoming initiated into the mysteries of the human psyche.

Return to transform our lives as a result of claiming our uniqueness and personal power.

We all possess most of these archetypes, but some of them are more predominant within us than others. Below is a short outline of the Archetype that you tested for. Each archetype reveals its own values, traits and meanings, as well as the lesson that each guide is trying to teach you about yourself.

The Warrior (or Hero)

Tough and courageous, the Warrior archetype helps us to set and achieve goals, overcome obstacles and persist through difficult times. – ten  /  INSPIRATION FOR MUSE.  Decided to try something different with Kaelivh and went the private detective route. There are some figures of inspiration in the fictional world like Takeshi Kovacs in the Altered Carbon books by Richard k. Morgan, Spenser and Hawk from the Spenser novels by Robert B. Parker (RIP) and that is pretty much it in his regards. Some other bits from previous characters like one I had in Guild Wars 2 I never got the chance to flesh out. 

Asande’s main inspiration came from Isabela from Dragon Age 2 (and Origins for a small bit). I found the character interesting and having more layers to her than truly presented. I quite enjoy multi-dimensional characters that have more to them than they present to you which is similar for Kael and Asande both. I would also say Viridiana Sovari from the Night Angel series by Brent Weeks (who was a pretty chill dude when I met him) was somewhat an inspiration since it was a character I enjoyed reading in that series though she wasn’t the main.

The twin concept was me just wanting to try the challenge of a female character in RP and thinking it would be a cool concept after discussing something similar with a past RP partner. Hard to find those you can do these things with so I said fuck it and did it myself.

– eleven  / DREAM JOB. To have my own stories published one day. Only have had some poems published at this point. If I would stop being my biggest roadblock then I would be working on this direction already *smiles*

– twelve  / MEANING BEHIND YOUR URL.  Was the name of the character I originally had on FFXIV and one I go by in other games previously.
