Contrary to how he acts, his biting words, his blunt responses....Koun does not hate Julius. While he can come off as extremely rude and sometimes down right callous.....he cannot hate Julius.

He sees too much of himself in Julius to be able to hate the man.

Koun knows...that if his path had been slightly different. If he'd had someone....anyone...that he could care for, and be cared for in return, he would have turned into the man Julius is today. Overprotective, but not willing to bend. Stubborn, but well-meaning. Absolutely set in his ways. Koun sees it all in him....and knows that at some point, that could have been him.

Had Kaena lived. Had it just been them two. Had he been smarter about his power, his blessings.

And despite Koun not hating Julius....

He absolutely hates what he sees in Julius.

He sees a man, so very stuck in the past that he refuses to look towards the future. He sees a brother who has smothered the life of his sibling to the point where it was unlikely that Ludger would ever be able to survive without Julius.

He hates it. Despises it. Because he sees himself in another point in time.

He hates it because he knows that no matter how he explains himself, Julius will never really understand. He's too locked into his own mindset to even consider an outside perspective. So bent on pushing off the inevitable, instead of preparing for it.

He hates it because he hates himself.

Yet, Koun does not fault Julius for his flaws....despite his biting words. Koun takes it in stride, moving forward. He does not hate Julius...for Julius' flaws, his stubbornness and single mindedness......remind Koun that Julius is human. Sure, the man's body may be breaking down...his mind may be shattered in many aspects....but he is still human. He reminds himself of that every day. That Julius will make mistakes. That Julius has his own personality, and Koun cannot control that.

In the end, Koun knows he likely will never stand on equal ground as the other. He knows that they will never completely see eye to eye. So he's striving for a middle ground, something they can both agree on, both work together for, at least in the sense of cohabitation. That's all he wants

He's putting in the effort, even if it doesn't seem like it. Subtle changes, habits broken.....it takes time. And through this, Koun still does not hate Julius.

Annoyed. Bitter. A need for distance, maybe......but not hate.

Because in this world, the only thing Koun hates is himself.

My only criticism of this particular attack was that they all came in from the same direction instead of making a divided attack, however the ineffectiveness of our AA fire, lack of air opposition and the manner in which they pressed their attacks home in this particular instance combined to make the attack practically perfect. These planes were of a yellowish-silver color, low wing monoplanes, with fixed landing gear and appeared to be similar to the Mitsubishi "Karigane" Mk.II, as illustrated in "Jane's All the World's Aircraft". They were subjected to heavy "AA" fire during the attack. After releasing, their evasive tactics were sound, keeping low and constantly changing course. However the attack was well delivered and none of the planes were seen shot down during their dive. Approximately 18 planes participated in this attack, following each other down from the same direction with a considerable longer interval between drops than is our custom. The average release heighth being about 1000', although in some cases releases were made as low as 300-40 feet, indicating that their bombs were armed the instant they left the rack. The attacking planes came in down-sun making shallow dives (about 45°-50°). Shortly after this I witnessed a dive bombing attack on the Navy Yard which appeared to be in the vicinity of Ten-Ten dock and the dry-dock. I informed him of the position of the Enterprise and our mission. Nichol and I then proceeded and reported to the Commander-in-Chief, Pacific Fleet. Inspection of the plane revealed several bullet holes through the wings but no serious damage. I estimate my time of landing to have been about 0835. I could not communicate with the Ford Island Field control tower. My wing man turned away just prior to landing. From this point on until I had landed I was subjected to heavy AA fire from ships and shore batteries in spite of making recognition maneuvers and the fact that my wheels and flaps were down for landing. Hoping that I would be recognized as friendly I decided to make a low approach to Ford Island Field and land - I had no alternative it seemed. I did not have sufficient fuel to return to the ship had I been able to get away from the island. It was immediately evident that I was under AA fire regardless of which direction I went. my wing man was attacked at the same time but was not hit and stayed with me, circling low over a cane filed to the North of Pearl City. The planes that attacked me appeared to be low-wing monoplane fighters with retractable landing gear. My fixed guns were loaded and charged but I had no opportunity to use them.

my passenger did not have sufficient time to man the free gun. Recognizing the insignia of one plane that had completed a dive on me - I immediately dove toward the ground zig-zagging. At almost the same instant I was attacked by Japanese planes from the rear without warning. At a point mid-way between Ewa Field and Ford Island I noticed considerable "AA" fire ahead. Army pursuit planes I gave them a wide berth, decreasing my altitude to about 800 feet and continued toward Ford Island Field. At 0820 passed Barber's point to seaward and at this time I noticed approximately a squadron of planes circling Ewa Field in column. At about 0810 I passed Kaena Point abeam to port distance 20 miles. Continuing on my track of 090° I sighted and passed the U.S.S. Bromfield Nichol, USN, Tactical Officer attached to the staff of Commander Aircraft, Battle Force, who had been ordered to report to the Commander-in-Chief, Pacific Fleet immediately after my arrival at Ford Island.Īt about 0720 I sighted a tanker to starboard, proceeding on an easterly course, which upon investigation proved to be the Pat Doheny of Los Angeles, belonging to the Richfield Oil Co. Pretty overcast day! It was a nice hike out to the point. Not too hot. Not too sunny. Misty, but not a rainy mud pit. I thought of my dad, Po Po, and Goong Goong. As I walked on the edge of the land, the very end rocks of the island, I was kind of muttering to myself that although I was the only one in my family not born here, I still feel a strong connection to the land and that perhaps since I'm from people that were born here, lived here, and died here, that maybe I too could be still considered from here. Right when I said that I heard heavy breathing behind me. I turned to see what it was and it was a sea lion swimming up to me and looking up at me from the water less than 10 feet away from me. Kita ga akan pernah bisa membuat semua orang menyukai kita ga sih. Even orang terdekat kita pun pasti akan menemukan beberapa karakter diri kita yang bertabrakan atau ga sesuai dengan karakter mereka. Pun sebaliknya. Dan itu ga papa banget kan. Karena memang kehiduan ini majemuk. Manusia diciptakan beraneka warna karakternya. And dealing with the differences is a key.

Well seems like too much blabbering yang ga on point. Jadi sebenarnya, barusn banget aku pengen doodling or coloring ya semacam art therapy gitu kan. Tapi tetiba aja si pikiran random ini keinget ma temen yang dulu pernah sedekat nadi dan kupikir akan selamanya demikian, namun kaena ada crash kerjaan hubungan kami, at least yang aku rasa, jadi ga sedekat dulu. Lucunya lagi, si pikiran aneh ini beranggapan deket atau engga nya seseorang diukur dengan saling mention di media sosial. Jadi si temanku ini juarangg banget mention aku di storynya dia, yang padahal aku mention dia di postingan medsosku ya meskipun sekali doang sih. Terus makin ke sini kek ga pernah aja gitu saling mention. Duh mulai ruwet sepertinya pikiran hamba hanya karena masalah mention apa engga di mention wkwk. Tapi sekarang gaya bersosialisasi masyarakat masa kini udah bergeser jadi kek gini  ga sih. Kita cenderung memposting sesuatu Bersama seseorang yang dekett dengan kita ketimbang yang biasa aja, ya ngapain juga kan wkwk.

Sungguh tulisan random yang beneran random haha. At least bisa nulis hati ini sudah plong. Biar isi tumblr ga melulu tentang nasib secret admirer yang gini amat ye kan. Sekali-sekali nulisin uneg-uneg yang meskipun ga berfaedah tapi ngasih warna lain. Warna lain yang tetep ambyar haha

While our youngest son was in high school and the year following, we were involved as adult leaders/volunteers in Aloha Council's BSA Venturing Crew 808, based in Mililani. Scouts BSA/Boy Scouts is a tremendous organization, we've all learned so much and gained lifelong friendships. I have bad knees so I never made it on many of the hikes, except Kaena Point, but one of my favorite outings was when we explored historical sites and walked ALL over downtown Honolulu on a BSA National Historic Trail, the Hawaii Heritage Trail Honolulu. More info about this trail is at this website. Someday I want to do the one on Big Island as well. . In Crew 808, it's been a diverse mix of kids from all over the island, from as far away as Hawaii Kai. There have been kids from different schooling backgrounds - public, private, homeschool.
