Xenk groans beneath him, calloused hands desperately pawing at Edgin... needing to touch and be touched in turn. Those lovely hands. Generous, sure and strong.

Edgin lets go of Xenk's hip, earning a whine in response, and takes one of Xenk's hands in his own. Pressing it to his chest.

There's something that's been on his mind for some time now, but he’s unsure how to broach it. Xenk wouldn't reject him harshly if he’s not interested. He takes a chance. "Look, I'm not into choking, but I wouldn't mind if you grabbed me by the neck every once in a while," he says. Watching Xenk as he waits for his response.

Xenk stares up at him, flushed and needy, his face slack with pleasure. He can see the wheels turning behind Xenk's eyes as he works through Edgin's request. His pleasure-hazed gaze keeps falling to where his hand lay on Edgin's chest. He nods.

Edgin grins, excited. He lets his eyes slip closed and continues thrusting within Xenk's tight heat. Licking his lips, he feels Xenk's hand slide up to his neck, dragging across his mating glands. A slight pressure to his touch. So smooth! So good! Gods!

With his free hand, he grabs Xenk's thigh. Digging his fingers into the firm, thick flesh there. Pleasure tingles through him as his omega groans lowly at his touch.

His lover's hand reaches his neck. Edgin leans forward, giving Xenk a better vantage.

Xenk then cups the back of his neck like a friendly greeting between friends. Firm but gentle.

Edgin opens his eyes and looks down at Xenk, his movements faltering.

The legs around his waist tighten as Xenk's wriggles in his grasp, displeased at the pause. "Edgin..." His mate gazes up at him pleadingly.

"That's-" Edgin stares at Xenk, trying to work out what was happening. He takes a moment.

Xenk's squirming ceases.

Edgin quickly realises that there has been a small miscommunication between them. Not uncommon, certainly not the worst. "That wasn't exactly what I meant, honey," he says softly, reaching up to take Xenk's hand, cradling it gently.

"I'm confused,"

"Darling, I wanted you to choke me," he says, "Just a little."

"You explicitly said that you were not into choking." Xenk frowns, "That you wished for me to grab you by the neck. Is that not as I have done?"

"No. Yes. I mean..."

Edgin sighs.

i'm about to be so controversial rn but chris pine is just not a good actor

genuinely no hate to you, everyone is absolutely entitled to their opinion and allowed to enjoy whatever they want (i'm not about to be like the cody hate people lmao)

but chris pine has never acted a day in his life

every role (that i've seen him in, and i've seen him in a lot because my mom is in love with him) is just him as himself, saying things that writers have written for him to say, and making the same four facial expressions

like yes he's objectively attractive, and he can pull of witty lines and sad scenes not horribly, but i don't think i've ever seen any emotion from him other than vaguely confident or vaguely upset

from my perspective he's kinda just mid, kinda doesn't actually do much, but i'd be interested to hear your pov on this

i can see where you're coming from. he for sure has a typecast, and it's not exactly one that asks for top tier dramatic chops. but i haven't seen evidence that he doesn't have those skills, just that the roles he gets by and large don't ask for them.

for me what it comes down to is that he always seems to be having fun with his roles. you can always feel that he truly loves the project and is having a blast committing 110% to it.

i think if you tried to put a different actor in for any of his roles, but especially my favorites of his as nicholas deveraux or edgin darvis, the movies would be significantly worse off for it.

no his typecast isn't one that'll win him best actor awards, but it's one that he seems delighted to play, and that shows in ways that really elevate both the role and the movie as a whole.

tldr, his acting is perhaps not the best, but the roles he plays don't really ask for that, and his performances are always so much fun to watch, because he clearly loves what he does and the acting niche he has found for himself. and i think that's absolutely wonderful
