Some days ago I watched Ranking of Kings. I recommend it, it's definitely worth to watch, but I need to rant about it.
First of all, Domas.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The lovechild of Martin Septim from Oblivion and Elliot from Stardew Valley.
This man deserves so many punches in his beautiful stupid face. But he also reminds me of why I love the way the whole story is written: good people making mistakes and unforgivable choices. Despite what he did, I still like Domas. He'll try to redeem for all his life, that's enough.
Second thing: Bojji is a treasure. He's my son. He's smol. I love him and thinking about him makes me cry all kinds of tears.
Alright... there's other stuff I need to get out of my system but there will be some more details so
SPOILERS AHEAD!
Something that doesn't really sit right with me is that Hokuro ended up paying with Domas despite not really doing anything bad. Like, he was just irresponsible, he didn't try to murder anyone - but I like that they team up to be better men together. I love their slight bromance. And another thing that puzzles me: the fact that Miranjo literally tried to destroy an entire kingdom, but she gets instantly forgiven... because she had a tragic backstory... and also apparently Daida is in love with her? He wants to marry her. I hope we'll get a season two to expand on this stuff bruh.
I also really hope Despa and Desha get to cure Ouken from his curse of immortality. I love that man and his stupid little moustache, it's a shame he became an effing psychopath (he went down the Baldur route😭 became hollow like the Undeads from Dark souls😭)

Until we meet again, you pure corrupted soul.

A very special day - Bonus II
Desha x Fem!Reader
First - Table of contents
Tumblr media
Credit : Oreskis
Hello! It's me with the second bonus out of five! I'm having a hard time writing the next fanfiction so I'm posting this instead 😜.
You still can read this as a one-shot, or read the first one, or even the whole fanfic Welcome ^^
Warning : NSFW
Desha was tasting the bitter feeling of anxiety, it was worse than everything he had to do until now. Without exaggerating. Not even a tiny bit. Proposing you had been the top one until today. On another hand, Despa and Ouken had been overjoyed when hearing the news, and now they were giving their all to do of today an unforgettable event. Maybe telling them had maybe been a bad idea, he should have gone with his first idea: to marry you in secret somewhere quiet and hidden. However, he did have some pride (a sane amount of it), and after everything that had happened, he wanted to be sure that everyone would know that you were his, and no one else.
At first, for him, making your relationship known had seemed like a threat to your well being, though now he thought about it as a way to tell the whole world that he would kill anyone mad enough to try and hurt you (or to try asking you out, but that was another matter).
“I’m hurt that you did not go with my wonderful ideas !” Despa pouted dramatically while brushing his brother’s hair.
“We really don’t have the same vision about the whole ordeal”, Desha smirked, glaring back at him through the mirror, "proposing in a restaurant, eh, what else ?!"
Really asking you out in a wealthy and handsome restaurant with around a dozen people who would have had a really good time glaring at him and you? No thanks. Anyway, Despa’s remark seemed to have been more spike than bark, and his eyes were strangely softer than usual toward him. A nice warmth spread across Desha, and he averted his gaze to hide how happy that made him.
“Don’t pester him today Despa, it’s a special day after all”, Ouken pleaded with a gentle smile.
“It’s him who’s being rude when I’m only being nice !”
Desha instantly turned toward him, angry but it made him tug on his hair and they began to argue like two idiots. Ouken thought for a second about stopping them, but then he had a reminiscence of his two brothers being once again children a bit less tainted by their hard lives.
“I think I outperformed myself!” Despa proudly claimed after a moment.
Desha inspected himself in the mirror, his hair was tightly combed in a ponytail, his naturally curly hair letting the back of his neck apparent. The rest of his outfit was elegant and carefully chosen by Despa. However, the more he was looking at his reflection, the more uneasy he felt. Dark shadows began to lurk in the corner of his vision, a cold grip even seized his chest while a heavyweight was felt on his shoulder.
“Is it…”, he started before lowering his voice, “...really okay for someone like me…?”
His demons were over dominating his vision, making him see only darkness until two soft and warm weights were felt on both his shoulders.
“No one deserves more happiness than you, big brother”, Ouken swore heartedly.
“He is right”, Despa nodded, “now stand up.”
Desha obeyed without thinking.
“I have spent too much time on your outfit and your hair for you to give up now”, Despa pestered him while putting a purple rose in his tee-shirt pocket, before gently patting his chest. “You have done enough, now it's time to live for yourself too, big brother. “
“Despa…?” Desha gasped, shocked.
“You're too slow Desha ! Hurry”, the blond demigod suddenly urged him toward the door making it impossible for the other to say anything. “Do you want your wife-to-be to wait for you on the very day of your wedding ??”
*
Now it was certainly too late to turn back, Desha realised when the door opened toward outside. The garden had been totally transformed to welcome all the guests. There were two lines of chairs, facing an ornate and flowery altar, with a decorated arch passing over it. A lot of people were already gathered, sitting while chatting lightly and happily. That sight made the king freeze because he had not thought for a second that there would be so many people willing to come for his wedding.
“How much did Despa pay them ?” He asked discreetly to Ouken, without taking his eyes from the crowd.
“Nothing”, the youngest demigod shrugged off with a laugh, “he simply sends words around about it. I heard that he even had to ask the guards at the door to stop more from coming because there were too many.”
“Non-sense…”
He could just not bring himself to trust his brother's words, it was too unbelievable. Why would they want to be a part of this? He stood, stuck on the stairs, nobody had noticed him for now since they were all facing the altar, where Despa had already taken his place. By the way, he was staring at Desha from there, pressing him to move.
“Let’s go, big brother”, Ouken tried to encourage him with a soft pat on the arm, “everybody is waiting for you.”
Desha blinked. The vast majority of the crowd was from his kingdom, either they were part of the Underworld’s guard, or from the people leaving in the town. He could easily name every one of them, but was it really enough to deserve their attention? He took a hesitant step, and before he knew it, he was walking down the alley. The guests quickly detected him, and they started to shoot acclamations, praise or congratulations in a warm and excited mix. He found himself answering them without thinking, and Ouken noticed that his brother’s face ended up loosening and he even started to smile genuinely.
He finally reached the altar, and while Ouken stand beside him, Despa look at him with a taunting glare before announcing :
“The bride !”
Immediately, everybody turned toward the door to see you coming through. You froze, pretty much like Desha had done a moment sooner, and your cheeks went really hot and red. As a guard of the Underworld, everybody knew you, but not like this and a lot of comments began to spread through the crowd. You were dressed for the occasion, with a dazzling white dress; your hair had been elegantly groomed while you had some light make up. Obviously, you were embarrassed and awkward, not used to your outfit nor that kind of attention. At least you knew everyone here, and it made you a bit less stressed. At your side, Apis was lending you his arm to rest on it, and the both of you started to walk the alley.
The sensation of Apis’s arm helped you to anchor yourself and not drown in the overwhelming attention and situation. Everybody was sweet and only made gentle and flattering compliments, but they were so many! There were also people from Boji’s kingdom, and to see them made you feel also better, it was as if the two parts of yourself were one again.
You finally reached your destination and noticed only then Desha’s presence. He was staring at you, hard enough to make you blush even more.
“Am I not looking good ?” You taunted him, not even able to smile normally under the pressure.
“I guess you’re okay”, he scoffed without thinking before Ouken stabbed him in the ribbed with his elbow. “I mean you’re breathtaking.” If there was a day he had to be honest, it was this one, no?
“Thank you…”, that time you were able to smile and even laugh without restraint. Hearing your king, as usual, was making you feel better already. “I have to say… You’re making quite the impression on me too…” You admitted with a playful expression before adding, “I hope you’re ready to deal with it, later…”
“Hm ! Hm !” Despa interrupted the both of you with big eyes, “can we focus on the important matter right now, please ?! I would like to stay pure and innocent from everything concerning my brother, please and thank you !”
“Such a fuss”, Desha chuckled.
“I can still leave, you know ?”
“Despa, you promised”, Ouken remembered him.
“I’m not paid enough for this”, he sighed before straightening himself again, “Let’s begin then.”
Desha looked sideways at Ouken but he simply waved him to not bother with their brother’s drama.
“Please, stand correctly”, Despa asked them.
You obediently step in front of Desha, while the two witnesses stood beside the one they were assisting. The whole audience went silent, and everyone hold their breath, waiting for the ceremony to truly begin now that everyone was present and ready.
You too could only barely breathe while staring at your king, you were unable to look at anything else than his flustered and handsome face. Everything felt unreal, except for him. The world was frozen, you could not hear a sound, and you were just basking in that magical moment. You already knew that you would never forget it, that slipt instant, suspended in time. Where nothing else existed aside from Desha, your one true love, and you, just before your relationship would definitely change to become husband and wife, for all eternity.
Despa started his speech, and neither Desha nor you spared a glance in his direction, too focused on each other. The king was living a dream, beautiful but also so fragile, he was feeling as if the smallest move from him would shatter it. But, with each passing second, he was realizing that you would not disappear, that it was really happening. You were here, the woman he loved, and you wanted to be officially his. And make him, yours. And his brothers were by his sides. And his people around him.
At the very instant you said “yes”, he truly was the happiest man in the world.
*
A huge feast had been dutifully prepared by Ouken and Despa, and almost all the Underworld took a part in it. Those who had not been able to witness the ceremony were welcomed to the next parts without any limits. For once, that too huge Castle became very much alive and vibrant with music and laughs. Everybody wanted to congratulate the newly married couple, so Desha and you spend most of the evening hearing them out while trying to eat all the wonderful food (the king was seriously beginning to be afraid that the kingdom’s chests were empty).
Then, you asked your king to dance with you, and despite his reluctance, he finally forfeit and followed you on the stage. Some musicians were performing from the beginning, and a lot of other couples or people were already moving on to the music’s rhythm. However, at the moment they saw both of you stepping there too, the music changed and everybody begin to watch. It made Desha even more awkward, but you were having such a blast that the last thing he wanted was to take away the smile on your face. He forgot about everything, his insecurities (he knew they were not definitely gone but that day was magical enough to make them fainter), his fears, his duties, to focus only on you and the joy in his heart.
The cavern’s lights were beginning to change colour when Desha finally carried you to the bedroom you had been sharing for a couple of years. You had your fair share of drinks and were already kissing him without any restraint. Which was the reason for his preventive withdrawal before you lost your last piece of decency and decided to act on your ardent desire (and you were totally able to do it since you were already holding it up since the moment you had seen your king in that wonderful costume).
“Can you please refrain yourself from doing this in front of everyone?” Desha grumbled between two sulfurous kisses, he had drunk a bit too but he had a way better resistance, while trying to get a grip on your wandering hands.
“I’m sure everyone is too wasted to notice”, you bargained shamelessly.
“You’re the one who’s wasted, you don’t even know what you’re doing”, he tried to reason with you even if his own thirst was making things difficult.
“I know exactly what I’m doing. And I know you want it too…”, you whispered in his ear, making him shiver from everything that you were implying by it.
“Fuck it!”
Desha smashed open the bedroom door with an impatient kick and closed it the same violent way. You giggled, grabbed his head in your, at least, free hands and resumed sloppily kissing his full mouth. Until you suddenly felt yourself fall and your body met with the bed’s mattress. You looked up with some complaint about the way you were mistreated, but you quickly forget it when you saw Desha undressing. He was standing tall in front of you, his hairy and muscular chest was already enough to make you have wild ideas, but his hard and erected manhood was making you wet.
Your throat went really dry, and you squeezed your tights by reflex.
“Like what you’re seeing, wife ?” He asked you with a smirk.
You did not know what was making more effect: the fact that he was suddenly behaving like a playboy or the fact that he called you his wife.
“Always have, always will”, you finally answered, looking up to him with a needy expression.
“Let’s take care of this dress now…”
You could only nod obediently, waiting secretly for him to come closer so you could have access to his totally naked body. He did not take his eyes off yours and finally climbed on the bed, upon you. You could feel his warmth even through your thin clothes, and unable to wait any longer, you grabbed him by his hair to draw him closer. He scoffed against your mouth but then started to eat you alive.
While he was fighting against your dress, you caressed him everywhere you could, especially on his buttocks. They were so hard and nice, it was a real delight to touch, especially since it was making him grumble when he found you had spent too much time on them. Obediently, you used one of your hands to go for something else, something big and hot. The top of his cock was properly fitting your hand, and Desha’s short groan made you bite your lips.
However, before you could thoroughly masturbate him, he finally succeeded in untying your dress before quickly taking it off you. Then he caught your busy hand with an amused glare.
“Are you having fun wife?” He asked you.
“I think it can become even funnier”, you dared him before catching his lips between your teeth to chew it.
Desha’s deep groan let you know how much he liked it. You grabbed his hair with one hand and used the other to press you against him, making his length touch your womanhood. You let go of his lips and made a little frustrated sound, unable to do what you wanted in that position. In response, your king toughly bit your neck making you scream and twitch under him.
But the second after the nice weight of his body on yours disappeared, you looked up and saw him on his knees. He grabbed your thighs, and before you could understand what was happening, he roughly made you impale on his large shaft. You gasped out of pleasure and pain since you had not been prepared for it, but you also liked it a lot. Ignited by his harshed ways, you thought he was going to fuck you hard and dead like he sometimes would, however, he quickly disabused you.
Desha set up a slow and languish rhythm, moving his hips accordingly to make his cock move in and out at the perfect speed for you to feel absolutely everything. The little movement of your vagina’s lips when his length was leaving, the perfect spot it was hitting when coming back… And meanwhile, he did not stop to look at you with a devouring passion in his eyes. You liked, even more, being looked down on like this by your king, his face as exciting as his movements.
“Do you like it, wife ?” He asked you, his wide mouth kept open by his heavy breathing, making obvious his own advanced state of agitation.
“Yes, very much… husband”.
The last word made Desha’s movements jerk and his cheeks went redder if it was even possible. It made you mischievously happy to see that you were not the only one liking those new names. But just after, your king took one of his hands from your hips to play with your pussy. He purposely went around your vagina lips to make you desperately whimper. You contracted and relaxed each time he was brushing past your sweet spot until you were almost sobbing out of frustration. You heard him chuckle, with his deep, hoarse voice while his eyes were not missing anything of your delicious supplice.
He was still nicely fucking you, but now his fingers were working too, and it was just making you insane from pleasure. You tried to reach him but he was too far, you could only brush his knees, which made things even more unbearable for you. You felt totally hopeless since one of his hands was roughly pinning you against his hips, while the other was caressing you. You felt your need and want mixed together making you beg for more. It was being always close to what you knew was the best, without ever being able to reach it.
“Cum for me, my wife”, he authoritatively commanded you.
And at the same time, his fingers went right for the perfect place, for your clit. It electrified you, especially in addition to the other sensations. Desha was playing with your whole body, filling you to the limit while pleasuring you in two spots at the same time. Each time he was trusting in you, your button agonized, each time was better than the previous one as if you were taken a little further in your delight. Seeing you twisting on the mattress while moaning to your heart content, your king obligingly speeded his movements, overwhelming you with pleasure in all its forms. You quickly reached your climax like this, coming hard on his hand.
You then saw him roughly grab your hips with his two hands again, and he started to fuck you hard, his movements way more sloppy and eager than before. He was breathing even more loudly, gasping and groaning until he reached his own peak, filling you with his release.
Desha stayed like this for a second, catching his breath, and basking in the sight of his satisfied and smiling wife. He was already addicted to it.
“My wife…” His favourite word for a couple of years.
So what do you think will be his next favorite word ? 😉Let's hear out your ideas !

Prince Ouken x GN!Reader
Well, there aren’t enough of these yet so here I come to help fill the void.
Ouken deserved better!
Warnings: Spoilers, canon violence
Tumblr media
Just like everyone else you were running in a blind panic. Why? Prince Ouken was on the loose. The Underworld knights were trying to protect the civilians but all they could do was slow him down.
Prince Despa was desperately trying to get the people to safety however none would listen, far too panicked to heed his words.
It was bad enough that you yourself had to jump several wounded and dead, soldiers and civilians alike, on the ground but you also had to be alert to dodge every other person running blindly.
Unfortunately for you, you did take a wrong turn. It was at a distance but you could clearly see armored men fighting. One silver armored in the middle of it, dancing around the golden armored soldiers that surrounded him in a very macabre and gruesome way. You didn’t seem to look away as prince Ouken rasped out a few laughs at the attempts of the soldiers that were growing to be more desperate by the minute and he reveled in each hit he was able to land.
All of the sudden however, he looked at you and stopped. The soldiers immediately took advantage of this distraction but Ouken would not move from his spot. Black ooze repaired every hit he took as he only tilted his head slightly as he stares your way.
Finally retrieving control of your frightened legs you turn around attempting to run when all at once… to your absolute horror… you cease to move completely.
Your mind begs your legs to move as you seem to be able to sense his movement. With your back turned you can feel he is coming your way all the while hearing the screams of the soldiers as they are beaten and discarded as if mere inconveniences.
Every step he takes you hear the metal of his armor clanking in a torturous slow pace as your mind goes down in a panicked spiral “Oh GOD! Move! Movemovemovemove! Please! Not like this! He is so close! What is he going to do to me? PLEASE LET ME MOVE!!!!”
Tears streamed down your face as he comes to a halt behind you. He remains there for a while before circling you and standing in front of you. He tilts his head to the side again as if studying you. You look from his bloody helmet to his sword wielding hand and he seems to follow. He raises his sword just a bit voicing out a strange rasp as he sees you shiver.
Despa arrives at the scene with the Captain at his side and his face blanches at the sight before him. He cannot call on his brother Desha for his lightning at how close Ouken is to you. You would surely be caught in as well. “OUKEN! Ouken please DON’T!” he begs but his brother remains unresponsive.
You close your eyes bracing for impact and the pain that was sure to come. As if the Fates were taunting you, you notice you can now move your pinky fingers which meant you were recovering mobility all too slowly. The sound of metal assaults your senses and you tremble but nothing hits you.
You keep hearing metal and you open your eyes to find Ouken removing his gauntlets, his sword left forgotten on the floor. When his hands are finally free from his armor he raises one and timidly brought it to your face wiping away tears from your cheek.
You let out a shaky breath you didn’t know you were holding, eyes wide, still not understanding or trusting what was happening.
Despa and the Captain also look on in awe at this development. To say this was strange was an understatement. When Ouken was himself sure, but as the immortal blood took over he was only known for violence.
Prince Ouken slowly reaches his hands to his helmet and removes it. You are surprised to find his features… human instead of a bloodthirsty monster. Not only that but that of a handsome man. Yet, his eyes… His eyes were…wrong. Void of any emotion. Scaring you as they never leave yours as if he was searching for something. Whatever it was he didn’t seem to find it and his expression changes from blank to confusion.
He raises his hands to your face once more, gently holding it in place as if you weren’t still paralyzed and before you can even guess why he gives you a light chaste kiss.
When he finally parts, his eyes seem to have regained life but before he can explore this further your hand collides harshly with his face. Prince Ouken laughs as he clutches his offended cheek, a normal human laugh and before you can even run away he holds you in his arms twirling you around as he thanks you over and over again.
After this moment, your life was turned upside down.

·        Despa and the Captain approach you cautiously and as Ouken spots them: “Despa? Captain?”
Both of them begin ugly sobbing at this.
·        Despa: “Ouken?” he gently cradles his younger brother’s face “Is it really you?”
·        The brothers share a long and overdue hug. The Captain covering his eyes with his forearm trying to stop the tears.
·        Despa:”But how?” – Ouken looks at you as he answers “I don’t know. I just… Suddenly saw a light and followed it.”
·        Despa takes your hands in his as he thanks you profusely for returning his brother back to him.
·        Then….everything in your life changes….and fast.
·        Despa informed his older brother King Desha about the events as well as plans to heal the injured and compensate the families of those tragically lost.
·        Prince Despa then pleaded with you to go with them to the Underworld as he needed to test a theory regarding this situation. You would be protected as well as tended to your every need in the castle as a most esteemed guest.
·        You were close to deny the request but as your eyes wandered to Prince Ouken he gave you his best pleading look and you relented. How could this man be a menace to your life one second and give the best hurt puppy eyes the next and be the same person?
·        Your family was thoroughly informed about the situation as well as reassured of your well-being and reluctantly let you on this journey. You said your teary goodbyes to family and best friends and followed the princes.
·        The trip to the Underworld was fortunately uneventful. You always got paired up with Ouken since no one wished to figure out what would happen should the prince be separated from you. You couldn’t blame them nor could Ouken albeit he would always look sad when mentioned as he did retain his memories when he was under the curse.
·        As you got to spend time with Ouken and getting to know him a bit, it only increased your confusion at how does such a sweet man turn into a killing machine? And just how unfairly cruel it seemed.
·        Every time there was a problem he was the first to help out. Even if people were still afraid and wary of him, the prince never let that get him down. It was commendable if not downright inspiring.
·        Prince Despa had welcomed his brother with open arms and couldn’t stop taking every moment to remain by his side already discussing a bit of everything he had missed and plans to restore his reputation.
·        On one of the stops before reaching the Underworld, you couldn’t sleep. So you arose from the tent but suddenly stopped as you spot Ouken by the fire. He took a dagger and suddenly jabbed it into his forearm. Your hands flew to your mouth as you saw the wound weeping that same black ooze. It swished around as Ouken removed the dagger and regenerated the wound swiftly as if it was never punctured. The man brought his hands to his face weeping quietly. You may have brought back his sanity but his father’s curse was still there.
·        Despa made his way to his younger brother, placing a reassuring hand on his back “Your soulmate may have not been able to break the curse completely but they have returned you to us. We now have more time to try and solve the rest.”
·        Soulmate? Like in fairy tales? True love’s kiss and all that nonsense? You didn’t know if you believed that or not. It didn’t matter! Your proximity to the young royal seemed to keep him grounded and his heartbreaking sadness right now made you resolute into helping him any way you can.
·        Upon arrival, at the very mouth of the Underworld, there stood King Desha eager to see his younger brother back with his own two eyes.
·        At first, both brothers just stood there facing each other but soon the King pulled the prince into a teary hug.
·        Desha: “You’re back!”
Ouken: “Yeah”
Desha: “You look like crap!”
Ouken: “You too!”
·        The three brothers were back together again. Happiness and relief flooded the atmosphere as you looked on with a smile on your face.
·        Finally noticing you, King Desha awkwardly thanks you and welcomes you to the family.
·        Despa begins to panic at your confused yet flustered expression and proceeds to chastise the King.
·        Desha: “Whaaaaaaat? They are going to stay by his side forever so might as well marry him.”
Despa: “Brother please! They just met! It’s a sensitive subject to discuss so soon!”
Desha: “Whyyyy? Look at him! He doesn’t seem to mind! Quite the opposite really! And this way everybody wins!”
·        As the brothers bicker back and forth Ouken gingerly approaches you fully red faced as you and coughs into his hand: “I’m….I’m sorry about my brothers”.
·        Upon arriving to the castle, King Desha relieved his populace by informing them that “The Sword of the Underworld” – prince Ouken – had returned. The news was received with mixed feelings among the crowd but the King was quick to silence every doubt.
·        Inside the castle, Ouken and Despa gave you the tour. Your quarters were going to obviously be next to Ouken’s – a fact to which he spared you an adorable apologetic look and assured you that if you’d need anything all you had to do was call and he’d be right over.
·        That night you could barely sleep, not only from being in a whole different room and bed but also you could hear screaming and crying in the room next door where the prince surely was having rough nightmares. Plagued by your pity you rise from the bed and you go over the prince’s door and knock gently. You blame the military training the prince has had cause he opens the door almost immediately.
·          Ouken: “Is everything alright?!”
You: “Yes I just….heard crying…like you were having a nightmare….Do you…..want to talk about it?”
Ouken: “Oh! OH! I’m so sorry for awaking you. It’s….It’s nothing please-“
You: “It’s not nothing, prince Ouken. If we are to be in this together then we better start trusting each other a bit, don’t you think?”
Ouken gives you a small tender smile: “Then I suppose it is best you drop the title. Just call me Ouken, please.”
You smile back at him: “Fair enough.”
·        The next day you were bombarded by maids fitting you into several outfits for the upcoming party celebrating the younger prince’s return. Everyone in the castle was nervous about it but the people had insisted.
·        After that, Despa took you and Ouken towards the empty training grounds to test the range of the soulmate influence on Ouken. After several tries, Despa finally settled the maximum comfortable distance between the two of you for Ouken to start…losing. Turns out, if you were to be in the heart of the castle Ouken could travel as far as anywhere in the castle. These were good news but- You weren’t quite so satisfied.
·        Once you catch Despa alone, you beg him to tell you everything he knows about the curse. When he asks you why you want to know, you tell him about what you saw at that campfire and that you don’t want to be Ouken’s personified leash, you want him to be free. Despa thought you were the cutest thing ever and of course he couldn’t say no… Of course, you would owe him one, nothing is free after all (he will “request” to become your child’s Godfather when it comes to it).
·         From that moment on you could be found in the library either alone or with Despa surrounded by books that possibly contained clues as to an end to the curse.
·        Ouken would become a bit jealous over your time being shared with Despa. He was beginning to fear that you would be falling for his famous handsome brother over him till you scoff about the very idea and tell him your quest to help him out. Ashamed for feeling jealous and by being sort of a burden upon you, the prince now makes it his mission to make sure you take plenty of breaks and to stretch your legs by going on walks with him.
·        Actually just wants to spend as much time with you as possible.
·        Sometimes soldiers would come look for you. The reason was because their training with Ouken was getting a tad too serious while sparing and either they were afraid he was snapping or they hoped that your presence would distract him so they could beat him. They were wrong on all accounts as their asses were kicked even harder as, with you there, Ouken was ten times more invested so he can show himself off to you.
·        And you thank whatever deity is true and alive whenever this man trains with his shirt off.
·        You and Ouken could always tell where the other was. Must be one of the whole soulmate perks. So you two usually walk back to your rooms together and every time he gently kisses your knuckles wishing you sweet dreams.
·        Certain things just became rituals between you two. Since his training would start early in the morning you would leave him a handwritten note under his door the night prior. In the morning you would find your note with a written reply or poem by him.
·        One night, Ouken was having one of his worst nightmares and you spent the night by his side. In the morning Despa erupted in the room because he had to speak to Ouken when he notices you two in each other’s arms. A big mischievous grin grows on is face as Ouken whispers to explain that nothing happened while trying to not awake you. Despa and Desha tease him about it for weeks.
·        The dreaded day of the party arrived. Despa taught you basic etiquette and dance but it was still awkward for you. Prince Ouken despite not wearing the crown, is still a very sought out bachelor so he found himself surrounded by quite the crowd.
·        You wanted to help him but you yourself were surrounded by a different kind of crowd, the uptight, nosy kind. They began drilling into you, asking you about your origins, upbringing, any single thing they could learn to try and tear your very existence apart. THANK GOD Despa came to your rescue pulling you to the dance floor.
·        You thanked him for the save and he brushes it off: “I know what is like to be thrown to the vipers.”
You: “Just glad you taught me somethings or their teeth would’ve sunk deeper.”
He laughs: “Now, how about we go save my brother, hm? I mean, again.”
·        With a wink and an expert move Despa trades places with his brother. Surprised, Ouken gives him a thankful nod and looks back at you lovingly.
·        Ouken and you danced together the remainder of the party refusing politely to trade partners.
·        His brothers look at the two of you with a knowing smile.
·        What began to be a terrible party, assaulting you with jealousy, awkwardness and even rage, ended with you in Ouken’s arms. Safest you ever felt.
·        Despa and Desha began to aggressively ship the two of you.
·        Sometimes you two could just be doing something as innocent as hand holding that the King would yell “JUST GET MARRIED ALREADY!!”
·        One time Despa had to restrain his elder sibling from marrying you on the spot.
King Desha: “You know what? I’m the King! I decide you two are now lifelong MARRIED partners! BOOM! Done!”
Prince Despa: “OH MY GOD BROTHER!”
You and Ouken: O//////////O
·        Saying the castle is lively again is an understatement.
·        Should someone have the absolute gall to try and kidnap you… Ouken feels something is wrong immediately. They cannot go far without facing the wrath of the three royal siblings and the knights.
·        You and Despa managed to find somewhat of a cure with the help of Miranjo. However when Ouken received the news he was crestfallen.
·        When asked about it, he will embarrassingly admit he doesn’t want to lose you. And he thought that if he is cured, you would move away from him. You swiftly put his worries to rest assuring him he is not getting rid of you so soon.
·        The cure will not completely cure everything as he is still a very resistant demigod but he is now able to go anywhere without you without losing himself to the curse. The two of you almost don’t get to test that out seeing how inseparable you’ve become.
·        You and Ouken travel more frequently now. Mostly between your homeland (your family adores him) and the Underworld but sometimes other countries as well while helping out and making amends from when he was a sadistic cursed being.
·        You even get to meet Bojji and Kage. The boys didn’t recognize Ouken at first but when they did….whoooooo boy… Kage shielded Bojji immediately while you were trying to explain everything. After Bojji calmed Kage down they listened to the whole story happily.
·        You even visited King Daida and his mother Hiling. During your stay you two were watched by them as if they were hawks. Eventually they eased up and blessed your marriage, resulting in shock when informed that you two are still not married.
Queen Hiling: “Well then you better get to it!”
·        You two eventually do get married much to the relief of all who shipped you two.

Guardian (King Desha x Gn!Reader) Part 4
Pairings: King Desha x Gn!Reader
Warnings: Violence, Language
Previous Next
It was Desha, he slowly eased the door open, and looked shocked you see you two there.
"Oh my prince! What brings you here?", Miriam asked, quickly standing up and brushing her skirt straight.
"Oh, uhm...I'm here to see (y/n)"he stated shyly, looking around the room, as if to not make any eye contact with you.
"Oh, alright then," she sighed, turning to you," Okay (y/n), you go on now with Prince Desha, but be sure to return for the dinner service."
With a nod you agreed, and turned to Desha, who then led you out of the room, and back down the long hallways of the castle. Eventually the two of you ended up in the back courtyard of the castle.
"Why did you bring me here?" you asked, confused
"I thought you could use some air after what happened today..."
"Of course air is nice, but you know what would be better? If you had never brought me here at all!"
Desha's face turned into a shocked, and saddened expression, he knew that you could have a good life here if you just followed the rules, and stayed clear of his father, but he also knew of the dangers that were a constant in the castle.
And here you were, thinking you were safe, only to discover you had to serve the man who had your family killed, who killed a maid for nothing, who drank the blood of living creatures and treated everyone around him like trash. All these feelings stayed hidden until you were alone, face to face with the person who had brought you here.
"I'm...I'm sorry (y/n)..I wasn't thinking straight, I thought you wanted to be safe..." he grumbled
"Safe? Safe!? This isn't safe Desha!" you shouted, storming off.
Leaving Dehsa with his thoughts, he silently said he'd keep you safe, safe from his father, and safe from anyone else that was harmful. He was unsure why this time he felt any different from the others who had come into the castle before you. Deep down he knew you didn't deserve the same fate as the others, when he got older, he would train to be stronger, strong enough to stop his father, and strong enough to be a great king anyone could count on.
While you quickly made your way back to the servants quarters, seeing Miriam, with that same sad expression as before.
The rest of the day went as any other day could go. King Satun was of course, mean, and everyone feared him. There were reasons for that, the reasons you would soon find out.
The dinner service was going to start soon. All the servants and maids made their way into the line on the back wall of the dining hall, each stood tall, with grim expressions on their faces. And like breakfast the royal family came in and took their seats, then of course King Satun came in, taking his large throne, the dinner service began in silence.
Desha, Despa, Ouken, and their mother were served a normal dinner of basic things, such as pork, vegetables, and cider or ale. While Satun sat there impatiently
At first you just thought they were going to bring out another elephants, or some other large beast, but what they did serve for the king was much worse.
With a loud bang, the large doors opened, and the men lead a horse drawn cart into the dining hall, all the looks on their faces could've told you what was going to happen next, as the cart drew closer, you could see what the main course was for the King.
It was the bodies of the people he had slain for no reason, you could make out the familiar color of human blood that stained the wood of the cart, the ragged cloths that were on all of them were the clothes of poor farmers who had lost their lives.
The servants next to you began to whimper, as tears began to well up in everyone eyes, the royal family besides the King himself looked down at their plates in front of them, as to not get a glance at the horrors that you, yourself were about to witness.
The horse drawn cart stopped in front of the King, and with a grunt, the men left, abandoning the cart, and leaving the hall.
Once the doors shut, the King, with his large hands, lifted the cart above his head, dropping peope into his mouth one by one, as if they were candy, the horrific crunching of bones echoed off the walls, and blood began to ooze out the side of his mouth.
The familiar taste of bile rose up into your throat once more, but you held it in in order to not get anyone else killed.
Once the King had finished with the cart, he turned his attention to you.
"You!" he boomed, "Come here."
You shook.
"M-me?" you barely whimpered
"I will not ask again."
With shaky legs and arms, you slowly scooted across the hall, glancing at the table, you could see fear in all their eyes, especially in the face of Desha, he was unsure of what his father was going to do with you.
When you approached the King, you were hit with the disgusting smell of death and decay.
"You're the one who vomited this morning, aren't you?" he said
"Y-yes..."
"You're probably wondering why your king does the things that he does, aren't you? You probably think this is foul and disgusting?"
"Uhm..."
Before anything else could be said, he grabbed you with his large hands, and held you above his head, as if you were going to be his next victum.
"No! Please!"
Everyone in the dining hall begged him not to, including those of the royal family began to cry out for him to leave you be.
"Let this be a lesson for you young one, I will not hesitate to use the most severe of punishments when it comes to lower class like you. I want no more disturbances in my castle, I hope I made myself clear."
With that he dropped you, Miriam rushing to your side, and dragging you away.
No one could stop him, and that's how it was for many years. No one dared oppose him, no one dared to stop him. Which made Desha's decision to lead a rebellion against his father the moment he turned 18 all the bit concerning.
He opened his hand out to you to help him with his army, and you nervously accepted.
The two of you had grown close to one another in the coming years, sparing together alongside the guards, learning to ride horses with one another. The two of you were best friends, anyone could see that.
However the years, even though you had survived this long, were not kind to you. Miriam had passed at an elderly age, Desha's mother did as well, but that was due to the harshness that was the King. The death of his mother is what lead Desha to become stronger, and with the support of his brothers and you, he gathered enough hands to start his rebellion.
All though war was not kind of course, King Satun had gained an army for himself as well, an army of Gigantes, who were forced into this war against this will.
Desha used this to his advantage one day, allowing his men to torture a baby of the Gigantes, the cries of the baby echoed off the walls of the underworld caves, calling out for help from his people. While the adult Gigantes charged into view, they were set ablaze, and were killed one by one by Desha's men.
Afterward, in an act of mercy to the now orphaned baby, Desha slit his throat, killing the young one.
And there you were in the present time, sitting around the fire with Ouken, Despa, and Desha, overseeing the men of Desha's army dance around the blackened corpses.
It was enough to send anyone over the edge, but you were used to this by now
"Was that really necessary brother?" Despa asked, clearly uncomfortable
"People will understand the sacrifices we had to make in order to take him down." Desha grunted, poking at the fire
"He was just a baby Desha, we gave Gigan, we could've set them both free," you sighed, taking off your helmet
Desha just grunted at you, and turned to overlook his men.
"We need to keep them on our side, otherwise we'd have no men, and no army."
Ouken chuckled at his brother, leaning back on the bench the two of your shared.
"Brother! You're a great man! Surely you don't believe they'll stop their support if you show an act of mercy once in awhile."
"Just stop! You act like I take pleasure in the things we've done!" he shouted, storming off.
"I'll go talk to him," you said, standing up and following Desha to the edge of the camp
You gave him a playful pat on the back, a thing the two of you often did to one another.
"What's wrong Desha," you asked
"I just, want this war to be over with, to stop the suffering, and to free our people."
"I get that, but what's wrong with you?"
"Am...Am I doing the right thing (y/n)? Like, I know I'm doing right by this war, but am I doing it the best way possible...Like are there other ways this can be done, without me looking like a monster?"
"I honestly think, you're the best guy for the job Desha, you have a great team behind you, and I'm sure you'll lead us to victory" you smiled at him, standing next to him, staring out into the under world caves. Your hands were right next to each other, and suddenly you felt the warmth of his hand on yours.
"Thank you (y/n), I wouldn't be here without my men, and I wouldn't be here, without you."

Ouken x Gn!reader pt. 3
pervious chapter next chapter
Poor Ouken got a hit on his head that made him pass out.
Y/n dropped their wooden sword and rushed to him feeling guilty and when y/n reached him. his guards were already holding him trying to wake him up. you suddenly felt a sudden urge to get some cold water and splash it at Ouken's face trying to make him wake up.
so you did get the water from your father's basket "y/n! wait a moment!" he said loudly after them running. y/n wasn't a troublesome child but he didn't knew what got in their head that day. he sighed and went after you. you passed the guards like a feather in the air fast and easy.
you sprayed some water at Ouken's face making him flinch from the cold feeling on his face. the first thing he saw that moment was your teary face redden. "I AM SORRY FOR HITTING YOU SO HARD I AM SORRY I AM SO SORRY!!" You yelled wiping your teary eyes. he woke up in one of the guards lap and he felt the sudden pain there in his head. "It's okay... I let my head down and got hurt. That what i deserve for letting my guard down!! y/n let's train together from now on! you're so fast and strong! please!!" he said with such excited tone smiling. you smiled too at him
"You ARE so strong too that it was impossible to dodge all of your moves!! of course I'll start training with you" you replied matching his excitement. his guards let a relief sigh feel relieved because the prince wasn't hurt. if something really happened to him.. his big brother the prince desha won't let them go  anywhere or leave them rot in the prison! and maybe worse!
Y/n's father came across the two children and felt relieved too because no one was hurt.. and his child is safe, "Papa please can he eat with us?? I invited him to eat lunch with us and he agreed!!" y/n said to their father. and he felt the glares from the prince's guards on him "y/n my dear..." he said then he saw the two kids looking at him with puppy eyes.
he sighed "Sure thing! this way prince Ouken! come on y/n you too" he said leading the two kids way to the picnic place where they will eat the lunch.
he put the basket his wife made for them and y/n sat next to Ouken talking with him not stopping even for a second. and Ouken was listening to her with ears not interrupting y/n just nodding and laughing with them. "oh my y/n you are now big and won't sit in my lap so I can feed you?" he said covering his face acting sad "N.. No papa I'm sorry! I won't leave Papa alone again!" y/n felt so embarrassed and hopped to his lap and they start laughing. even Ouken was laughing at the sight but suddenly he stopped.. he missed his big brother..
y/n saw his expression and knew something was off so she kissed her dad and left him to sit by Ouken's side again talking to him to light his mood. it worked and he smiled again feeling a bit better. your father put the food and you all ate and he gave you and Ouken some sweets to eat. you both liked pastries and sweets especially cakes!
"Ouken try this chocolate cake!" you shoved the cake in his mouth "uhm woaa that's so delicious!!" he said eating the cake "yes my mother is the best! she makes me cakes from time to another! I'll tell her to make us both cakes so we can both eat after our future trainings!!" you said smiling at him and his eyes widening then smiled too "I'll look for it!!"
your father was truly amazed by your social skills.. you are both truly a stars shining in the sky. then after that you had to leave with your father. but you didn't want to leave Ouken alone! but then the guards came to Ouken telling him that prince desha came to take him to the castle. you then saw the boy with grey skin and black hair coming closer. you felt scared for a moment but Ouken took your hand "Brother!! that's y/n! she's my friend" he said happily. Desha lowered himself to your both height. he was taller than you both of course.
"Hello y/n. nice to meet you and thank you for taking care of my little brother." he said in a gentle tone so he would not scare you away. You smiled at him and waved your hand for them when they left. Ouken was waving back to you.
it's now the time to go back to your house. "I don't know from where should I began  when we are home.." he said to himself knowing that was a long day and maybe you both had a lot of stories to tell your mother.

#OusamaRanking #RankingOfKings. This is one of the best titles to come out in 2021 and seeing the finale just makes my heart melt. Unlike other titles, you'd think from it's art style alone that this was a simple series to help the adults keep their kids distracted. Wrong on so many levels. The art style may be simple, cute, and reminiscent of the 90s, but the plot runs so deep. I'd even compare it to how Disney and Pixar integrate adult themes and issues to their stories. Only with Ranking of Kings, there's no sugarcoating. Bojji is a deaf mute prince who's mocked and belittled by everyone in his kingdom. The only one who believed in him was Kage, the last remaining member of the Shadow Clan. In 23 episodes, you'd see how much Bojji struggled from the discrimination to the betrayal to his ultimate comeback, and every step of the way, Kage was there to support, fight, and cheer him up. Must say, I think I cried for more than half of the series just because of the emotional investment I had in Bojji. He's the prince who deserves it all, and even after everything, he still chooses to protect everyone. Also, I got to learn that there really is no one true evil in this series. Miranjo, Bosse, Daida, Ouken, Domas, Queen Hiling -- it's easy to generalize them based on their first appearance and actions, but the series really drew out their characters. Then you have the flawless animation from Wit Studio. They gave Bojji the Levi Ackermann treatment and camerawork!!! Yes, they did, and Bojji deserves nothing less. And just the overall treatment was such a fake out, which helped me appreciate the series even more. Do not be deceived by the simplicity of it all. Ranking of Kings started out as undetected title that was barely on anyone's radar. I'm just happy that there are more people now who love Bojji just as much as I do. And this will certainly be added to my top anime list. Watch it if you can because Bojji deserves all the love he can get. He's the train that never gave up, he's the hero no one ever saw coming, and he's the child with a heart of gold that proved everyone wrong. I can't help but feel proud like a doting parent. 10/10. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cbho7oKpehe/?utm_medium=tumblr

Welcome - Part XII
King Desha x Fem!Reader
First part - Previous Part - Table of contents
Hello ! This is the last long chapter, I really worked a lot on it, it's about 7 pages long 😅I hope you'll enjoy it :) The next ones are far shorter. I more or less finished this fanfic, there are 16 parts, but I think I'm going to do a couple of bonus, not necessarily canon with this story.
He was drowning in a sea of blood and corpses. Each face was known, either had he killed them himself or taken part in their deaths. His clothes were soaked, and he felt things grabbing his legs to drag him to the bottom. The dead were calling out for him, saying that he deserved to die, that it was time for him to give back what he had taken from them. And they were right. He wanted nothing more than just to let himself drown, to give up. But his guilt and self-righteousness would not allow him to do so. He saw the throne shining some distance away. So he began to advance, fighting against the dead and against himself. He had a duty, he had to do it, otherwise, everything would have been for nothing. His life would have no meaning without it.
He reached it and lifted himself on it with difficulty. The wail of the dead was atrocious, but he simply stared at them. He would not ignore them or forget them, as he could not ease his pain by thinking that he had only killed a monster, he had killed his father. The one at the origin of his life and his brothers’.
Ouken was there, looking still crazy and blood driven. He could not stop himself from thinking that it was because of him that he had woken up like this. Immortality could be a part of it, but it was him who had driven him to the war, to the mass grave, him who had given him the taste of blood. The pain in his chest was excruciating. His crown on his head was even heavier when he saw Despa turning his back on him.
Nothing was like it had been.
He was the king of the dead.
But he had learned to live with that. That was not scaring him. Until he saw someone else. Someone he did not recognize at first. Turning his back on him, a little girl was standing atop a mountain of corpses, blood dripping from her tiny hands. He suddenly recognized you, but you seemed younger, at least from what he could see. He tried to call out your name but you did not react at first.
Then, the child turned his face to him
“Father ?”
Desha woke up in a panic, he could not breathe, he desperately grabbed his throat, gasping for air as the terrible image would not leave his sight. He was lost in it, drawing in it, despairing in it.
“My king ?”
He used the mushy voice as a lifeline, grabbing onto it to forget the nightmare he just had. But was it really just that?
“My king ?” You repeated again.
You half-opened your eyes while sensing that the man was not laying down beside you. You noticed that his greyish skin was terribly pale, making you feel alarmed.
“Are you okay ?” Your heartbeat increased slightly and you raised on your elbows.
“It’s nothing, go back to sleep”, Desha finally answered, while he at least took back control of his breathing.
You closed your eyes again, but only to make him feel easier.
“Come here”, you softly said.
You passed a hand behind his head to attract him in your warm embrace, against your chest. He tried to resist by reflex, but being here, feeling your warmth, tasting your soft skin under his, smelling your light scent, made him slowly melt and lulled him to sleep. And without noticing it, he fell into slumber again.
You woke up for good only a couple of hours later. The light from the cave was bright, and you were surprised to find Desha still asleep in your arms. His hair was a beautiful mess while his face was totally relaxed, his mouth half opened as he was a bit drooling on the sheet. Usually, he would already have left before you woke up, so it was a really nice sight. You lovingly stared at him, feeling your body fill with a gentle warmth. At first, you had found him so handsome and strong that you had been totally intrigued by him, then you had learned to know the king he was and began to like him more and more. Now, you had the chance to spend many hours with him, and you had fallen in love with the man he was.
“I love you Desha…” You quietly said while brushing some hair from his gorgeous face.
Usually, he would be really busy with his king’s duties, but later today the both of you had to go to Boji's reception. And you knew that Desha had spent all the days previous, and the night before working himself to death in order to leave the Kingdom in good shape before going away for a couple of hours. So you decided that he truly deserved to oversleep a bit. And if someone disagreed you would happily (and brutally) make them see your point.
You kept looking at him, feeling all your love slowly fill you, leaving no room for anything else.
However, a flickering thought came to your mind, your menstruation was really late now, it had been over a month since Desha had accidentally cummed inside of you. Did that mean that you were pregnant? You knew you should not feel excited about it, but a tiny part of you started to wonder about the child that could be growing in you.
*
The two princes came with you and Desha to the reception. Also a couple of guards like Yvan, but Captain stayed behind to keep guard over the Castle. The journey to the portal was peaceful, it had been paved, and some accommodations had been built on the way and around it. It made you feel a bit reflective to think about the last two times you had come here with your King. The first was still a bad memory, but the second was a bit different. You were proud to have been able to protect him and worried about that Janu.
Anyway, riding beside Desha, and alongside Ouken was putting you in great spirits. Despa was here too, and being around him always meant a good moment. The mood was light, and you did not notice your King stiffening when you finally reached Boji’s Castle.
Despa had insisted that the whole lot of you had to dress to look the part perfectly. Your maids had spent a lot of time taking care of you and your outfit, and you were feeling totally awkward. At least the place had not changed much during the last couple of months and it made you a bit more at ease. The Underworld’s men followed you, counting on you to lead them through that new place.
Queen Hilling was the first to welcome you, she looked radiant and still as prideful as always. Beside her, Doroshe was standing, dressed really elegantly too. You could not help it, and smiled smugly and made fun of him while Desha was talking with the queen.
“You don’t look like a warrior at all”, you laughed.
“You neither”, he grunted with a smile.
“Fair point, urgh that kind of thing is not for us…”
“Wait to see Domas then, it’s hilarious. Apis is the only one who never look out of place.” Doroshe commented lightheartedly.
You smiled too, eager to see your old friends in suits. Desha had not heard what you were talking about but he kept staring at you, strangely not so pleased to see you interact so fondly with people he did not know. However, it was also a fine sight to see you in your homeland. You looked a bit different, more natural maybe? He finally took your arm in his, he was feeling proud to be by your sides.
He then led you to the main room with Hilling showing the path.
“I’m a bit bothered”, you muttered to Desha.
“Why is that ?” He asked with a wry smile, guessing that the next thing you would say would not be serious.
“Despa has done a too good job on you, what if someone steals you from me ?” You pouted, half-jokingly and half-serious.
After all, a lot of people would be gathered tonight, and maybe women far more suitable for a king than a scarred warrior like you.
“Do not be silly”, your king scowled.
You did not press further and grabbed Desha’s forearm with your other arm. Tonight, everybody would know that he was your king. It was making you feel incredibly proud, even if you were still slightly worried that someone else would try to snatch it away. But, you decided that it was just up to you to not let anybody do it.
“King of the Underworld, Desha”, the herald announced when you entered the hall.
The room had been richly decorated, a lot of lights were blinding you, and even more, people were gathered. It quickly overwhelmed you because of the sound, smell and lights. Thankfully, Desha grabbed your hand laying on his forearm and pressed it gently. He was looking right in front of him, but his gentle gesture helped you untense a bit.
King Boji was standing a bit further, talking with his brother Daida. The last one had grown a great deal, becoming each passing day more of a man and less a kid. Beside him, Miranjo was standing quietly. For once she was wearing another dress without a hood, but she kept her head lowered. Still, she nodded when seeing you, and you respectfully did the same. Despa and Desha began to talk with the little king, Domas and Kage were helping with the translation. Ouken was already missing. Meanwhile, you were looking at Domas, trying your best to hold your laugh. He was so stuck in his suit that he had a hard time signing for his king.
The King of the Underworld was making fun of Boji, while the sensation of your hand on his was enough to help him ignore the rest of the room. Or that was what he wanted to believe. They were standing close to the throne, and all the eyes were on the two kings and the people around them. He was used to it, in the Underworld. He had thought about how it would be different here, however, he had underestimated the token it would take on him.
“Did you see them ?”
A couple of rich people were muttering behind their hands not far from their left. Their voices were lost in the ambient noises, but Desha could hear them as clear as if nobody else were around.
“Is he even human ?”
“I heard he’s Satun’s first son!”
“He looks more like a monster…”
“-ha !”
A bit closer, just behind them, a group of men were looking directly at you while making unrestrained comments, obscene looks on their faces.
“She should be ashamed of herself !”
“How can she stand so close to him?”
“-sha !”
“She’s a wench !”
“Do you think they're even intimate ?”
The last one earned some naughty and vulgar laughs from his comrades.
“Desha !”
The Underworld’s King felt like a sudden discharge, and he turned his glare at you with surprise. How long had he been totally absorbed in those outrageous conversations? His clothes were sticking to his skin, he felt sick and awkward. How could he have thought even for a moment that the stain on his name wouldn’t spread and stain yours too? He was a fool for even agreeing to show himself by your side, he was an even bigger idiot for wanting to play by those humans’ rules. Damn! He knew his place, and that was not it!
He rudely pushed your hands.
“Are you okay ?” You asked him worriedly despite his attitude.
“Of course”, he shrugged off, thinking that you had maybe not heard them and that he could just make up for the rumours by putting distance between the two of you.
However, the poison had already started to corrupt his thoughts. He felt dizzy and too hot. His clothes were too tight and made him look goofy. He was a damn jock. A fucking monster in a human disguise, simply disgusting!
But you had properly heard them. And you felt furious. Not for you. But for your king. However, you could not just rush to them and hit them, even if you really wanted it. You did not want to bother your king with uncontrollable behaviour, so you tried to think about the best course of action. Both of you were here tonight to show that humans (more or less) and non-humans could have a good relationship. In almost a year in the Underworld’s court, you hoped that you had succeeded in assimilating how to behave properly.
“I know a really nice place with a good spot to look at the garden, my king,” you advertised with your most delicate tone.
Desha’s demons froze for a second while he looked at you, your scared indifferent face. Your awkward attempt at a proper smile. Your brows were twitching, and your hand trying to reach his.
“They are really going for it!”
“I’m going to be sick.”
The whispers were only louder and more mocking. Desha roughly pushed you, making you almost fall. The betrayed look on your face was the final blow to make him feel like a total incompetent. The taste in his mouth turned to ash and his will flickered. He realized that he had to take action now, he had to keep face as the King of the Underworld.
“Do you really need your king to hold your hand, Emissary? ” He mocked with disdain. “If you need air, go look for it by yourself like a grown adult !”
You stayed frozen, feeling lost. The remarks just kept parasitizing you, making you furious against them and against… Yourself. You had thought it was a good idea… But you clearly had made a mistake. His cold face, his hard tone, and his mocking words… It was as if you were seeing him for the first time. It was not really pleasant, but you were smart enough to understand that it was necessary. You bit the bullet and nodded dryly.
“My king.”
Desha scoffed with contempt, before turning his attention to Boji
You then started to wander throughout the party, wanting to talk to nobody, and not knowing what to do at all. Despa was busy and Ouken had disappeared, probably having a good time somewhere else. Finally, you decided to go outside. Your old friends were all busy, like always, and did not have the time for you. You hoped that some fresh air would help you think more clearly about what to do. You slowly walked around the flowers, until you saw someone sitting on a bench. You immediately recognized Ouken.
“Are you not feeling well Commander ?” You asked him, sitting beside him.
“Oh? It’s you. Everything is fine.” He smiled at you, but he was looking far too sad, to be honest.
“It’s the second time this evening”, you muttered dejectedly at the rejection.
Were you really that untrustworthy? To the point that nobody would confide to you about how they were feeling? Or was it because you did not try hard enough?
“Please Ouken,” you insisted, “Though I guess I’m not the person you want to see, I still have two free ears and I want you to feel better.”
The young man stared at you, surprised by your sad tone. He hesitated to change the subject, but his heart was too heavy, the last thing he wanted was to make you feel bad too.
“I guess I had underestimated those people’s memories”, he admitted with a hand in his hair. “I deserve it, I know… I killed a lot of people when I was immortal.”
“You were immortal ?”
“You did not know ?”
Ouken then explained to you how when he turned 25, his godlike power awakened, making him immortal and at the same time crazy and blood-thirsty. How his big brothers had to stop him, Desha keeping him locked in prison until Miranjo freed him to kill a lot of people here. The burden of all those deaths was so hard, and he never talked about it. Once he had turned human again, he had fled. It was too hard to see all the people he had hurt. But coming back to the Underworld had been so good. People there had known him before and were good enough to still like him. However, the people here had not known him before. For them, he was only the monster who had attacked them.
“Oh, so it was you?” You understood one eternity later.
You had seen him during the attack, but your mind had been so full of Desha at that time that you had forgotten most of the rest.
“I am terribly sorry…” Ouken apologized tears in his eyes. “I do not deserve to be sad, I have made people even sadder…”
His back was curved, and his face dreadful.
“I think it’s their loss. Too bad for them if they can see how great you are now.” You shrugged. “I get that you want them to forgive you, but you already have a lot of people caring for you. Is it not enough ?”
You took a break, thinking a bit more before adding :
“Do you want everybody to like you ?”
Ouken froze, his eyes widened slightly, then he passed a hand on his face, before laughing nervously.
“Thank you, Lieutenant.” He smiled, and it was more genuine this time.
“It’s okay, I really appreciate the man you are now if knowing it can make you feel better.” You specified, happy to have been able to help him feel even slightly better. “Even if you’re not as handsome as Desha.”
“Talking about my big brother, why are you without him ?”
“I…” You wavered not knowing how to put it. “I needed some fresh air, to cool myself.” You added with assertiveness, “I should go back to him now.”
“Good luck then.”
You stood up but hesitated when seeing a shadow lurking on his face.
“I think I saw Despa stealing all the pastries earlier,” you reminded. “Let’s go see him first.”
Ouken grabbed your hand and you both found Despa. Who in fact was not eating everything but stealing the golden spoons (it was the obvious price to have him at this party, Boji had to know that there always is a price to be able to enjoy his wonderful personna). Once you had reunited the two brothers you decided that it was time to found the third one. A sudden pain in your belly made you frown.
“Y/N?”
You turned around to see Apis behind you. As Doroshi had informed you, his suit was really classy and he was wearing it really naturally. It made you naturally smile, pleased to see one of your old peers and closest friends.
“You look good”, you said without hesitation.
“You too. I’m glad to see that you found new friends.”
“Thank you. Hm… Apis? Can I ask you something ?”

A moment later you resumed your looking out for Desha, it took you a while because he no longer was in the main hall. In fact, he was standing in the garden, but in the opposite place, Ouken had been. He was leaning against the Castle wall, his gaze wandering around. He was frowning, and his mouth was down. Even you could say that he had something on his mind.
“My king…” You quietly called out.
The night was cold, or was it you?
“What are you doing here ?” He asked without looking at you.
“I simply followed my own advice.” You tried with a little wry smile.
He took a quick glimpse at you, and you could see that his cold attitude had slightly melted. But there was something else in him. However, you did not know how to deal with it. Being pushed away earlier had made you feel less assured. How do be sure you will do right this time?
“Who is that guy ?”
Desha had seen you talking with Apis. He had wanted to explain himself to you, but he had recognized the same man from the reception in the Underworld. Who was he for you ? That thought had just finished losing him. That guy was looking more human than he never could. And you obviously looked close to him. He felt foolish but desperately jealous too. The earlier comments, and now that, everything was making him too self-conscious. And his anguish and insecurities were taking the best of him, while his pride would not accept him to show or admit it.
“Apis ? He’s my friend.” You guessed that your king wanted to know more about it so you kept going. “He’s a very precious friend. He’s the one who taught me how to talk and read.”
Your eyes softened when you were talking about him, Desha could see how much he meant to you, and it extremely bothered him. He knew deep down that he was being foolish and inconsiderate, but right now he could not stop himself. There was too much to lose. He had wanted for your relationship to be simple and out of trouble, but it was beginning to spin out of control. He needed to take the control back. He already had done a terrible mistake, and he still did not know if it was too late or not. He could not keep going on that thorny path.
“Desha, it’s okay”, you suddenly caught up to him.
You had felt his intense anguish grow out of control, but more importantly, you had seen the pain in his eyes, hidden on his face.
“I’m here, and I won’t go anywhere. I’m sorry for earlier, I’ll do better next time.” You apologized, trying hard to get him back from where he was mentally going.
“Where did you go with that man ?” He abruptly asked, knowing he was only just looking for more things to be angry with.
It was true, you had left the reception for a while with Apis.
“He helped me with something that should make you relieved.” You explained without looking embarrassed. “I have my menstruation. Apis lead me to Miranjo so she could help me with it.”
Immediately, a huge weight disappeared from Desha's chest. He blinked a couple of times before scratching his neck and finally laughed nervously.
“Right ! That's really good news !” He smiled widely.
He was happy. It was obvious. You should have been too. So what was that ache in your heart?
See you soon for the conclusion of that "short" fanfiction ;)
