I didn't think I'd be posting Op.5 lyrics this soon, yet here we are. ajslrkgjalskrj I just could NOT get this song out of my head. This is just transcribed by ear (no official lyrics yet), so I'm sure it has its errors. Still, I just couldn't not translate it.

It's basically the song during the Fall. Description of the song at the end to avoid spoilers. Just know, I love this song A LOT.

The song: It starts out powerful as they fall, and then it switches to a sweet tune when William finally lets himself have this...little bit of happiness. ;A; I also love how the song ends on a cliffhanger. 生きて俺たちは... We don't know what they'll do after they live (except if you're a manga-reader hehehhe), but it's nice to have that open-ending. It's like an assurance that they don't die here.

The way they staged the whole thing too........ Basically, after years of watching them reach for each other and never touching, THEY FINALLY TOUCHED. AND HUGGED. I will never be the same again.

ALSO??? HELLO?? All the references to Op3's "wind in my heart" I just. Op.5 is so wonderful.

Slight spoilers for Moriarty the Patriot op5

1: Obviously Sho and Ryo are acting flawlessly. But DAMN! Kenta (John) and Ryoki (Fred) really went all out. 110% emotion

2: Sherlock’s hyperventilating in the beginning during the prison scene was actually really great acting and very realistic. I love this detail. 👌🏻

3: William’s whimper during the bridge scene was a great addition as well ❤️

4 Sherliam’s high five was *chef’s kiss* adorable (They’re both adorable) and Yes I said this already in the last one

5: Unfortunately my attempts to translate Shogo and Ryo’s 3 end speeches have failed(miserably) If anyone could send me their translations that would be so very much appreciated. I can do without subtitles for the musical but I really need them for the end speeches since I don’t know Japanese. Obviously when the cast laughs something funny was said and I’d like to know what it was lol I know this is a strange request and I’m sorry.

6: Oh yeah. And Louis’ physical reaction(I.e his hurt look and running away) to the people when they sing about William being the Lord of Crime is great. I assumed it expressed something like: “he’s not the monster you think. How could you all say he’s a demon, he’s my angel.” Obviously I don’t actually know what they’re all saying but I love his reaction. Very genuine.

7: My heart clenched so hard at the end when everyone looked so defeated and depressed. And especially when William (pretty much the whole time) looked so exhausted and defeated.

8: This musical in particular did a fantastic job at being more realistic (I.e my points about Sherlock and William) and gave so much more feeling and emotion to the characters and story.

Will there be another? Maybe if I watch it for a 3rd time and find more things to say lol

it’s so good to see them all back, and these little teasers are really exciting to see. they all look so happy.

haven’t seen pictures of shogo or hiraryo there yet, both have tweeted about it though, and it makes me a little nervous to see what they might have in store.

Hi! I am a huge musical theatre fan who stumbled upon Morimyu by pure coincidence a few weeks ago. Thank you so much for all of the hard work you have put into these translations! As an English speaking fan they are a lifesaver. I am consistently blown away by how poetic and beautiful these shows are. No pressure, of course, but is there any way you could explain what happens in the 'bench scene'? I wish I knew what they were saying. Thanks and hope you have a great day!

Hello there!! AAAAAAA I'm so happy you stumpled upon morimyu. It's such a beautiful series of musicals, isn't it???

I'm assuming you mean the bench scene from Op.5? It's spoiler heavy, so I'll leave it behind a cut!

Soooo the scene shows that they both survive the fall. (Based on the manga, William survived the fall, but his eye got injured, and will wear an eyepatch. Thus, the deliberate angles to hide his eyes.)

Now that William's accomplished the plan that he'd been working on since he was a kid, he's lost. He doesn't know how to atone for his sins (killing so many people etc). He doesn't know what to even do with his daily life. As one lyric says, "my life is a blank piece of paper".

And Sherlock responds, then let's think about it together. Let's worry about it together. Let's "live" together, because isn't that what living is? No one has their life planned out in detail.

(Above is the basic gist, below is just spaz tbh haha)

And the most beautiful part of this, in my opinion, is the way they sing "kono sekai wo" (this world) together in the end. The harmonization is perfect, yes. But most of all, it's a lyric William has sung alone in Op.2, and again in the beginning of Op.5 (acapella!). The way that they end the entire series with this lyric ("this world") and in a few notes that sound so hopeful, I believe it shows just how much "this world" has changed. Where William once sang alone in despair, he can now sing about it with hope with someone else, with Sherlock.

Three hours of Morimyu. I do wish I could go back to sleep now, but time for work I guess.

The way that scene went. Oh. And the last scene. Oh. All the scenes before it. Oh. The acting was just great. The set was great. Kiiiinda disappointed that the big thing wasn't actually where the bridge scene was, but probably too hard to do logistically.

The music was, as always, amazing. I think there was more a cappella segments in this one? Anyways, so good.
