In Noisrev, is it considered offensive to pretend to be another species or lie about what kind you are?

Hmm...well, if you are honest about it, dressing up as another species is often seen as quite flattering! Very much in the vein of "Oh, you want to be like me? What a compliment!"

BUT if you are caught pretending/lying about what species you are, I feel the only real offense taken is to those the same species as you.

For example, take my OC Kira, a cat who lies that she's a tiger. If anyone found out she was pretending, they'd be like "Oh...why are you pretending so hard? Does it matter that much to you?"

If a tiger found out she was pretending, they might laugh a bit and even pity her, like "Ohhh, you wanted to be one of us so bad! I'm sorry life's not fair."

If a cat found out she's pretending they'd be like "Wow, what the fuck? Are you embarrassed to be one of us or something? What do you think of me then, huh?"

This is a.... hard question.

Like obviously IRL it would be toxic. Anything with Yandere type stuff is toxic. But like. They are cute. And he wouldnt hurt Mary atleast. It wouldnt be toxic towards her. Idk how to explain it. But like I ship it. I didnt ship it at first but eventually i kept seeing more and more art from arcadekitten and more and more of them together in games and it grew on me. Sometimes I feel like I shouldnt ship it, but like I cant help it. I would obviously not be okay with it if it were real, but like where its fictional its fine.

New Challenge for writers who are also fans of games made by arcadekitten! ~ ✩

I’ve notice that way too many Ao3 fics on the Crowscare, INMIMB, etc. tags are smut and…. Let’s just say it’s not a very nice place \(˚☐˚”)/

I don’t want people who enjoy Noisrevverse games to have to scroll through insane NSFW works to find a rare gem that’s actually interesting (•᷄- •᷅ ;) (not to say NSFW is boring, but when 98% of it is parent-child incest…)

I’m currently trying to write lots of Noisrevverse fics before posting any, so people have more options other that smut! (Fluff, crack, angst, etc.)

The only rule for this challenge is to not write smut! You can write ships, AUs, anything that isn’t smut!

intro post time!!!! probably temporary for now though.

hi. im Viper. my pronouns are he/it. this is my blog where i mostly post silly things, mainly drawings of my interests.

Both games have supernatural and horror elements. The first is murder mystery thriller VN, while the latter is more of a traditional puzzle horror RPG.

Hehe, I will always take the chance to recommend anyone Arcadekitten's works.

Though, I will give you a small heads up.

Not to spoil too much, but her games take place in a sort of multiverse (dubbed by her as the "Noisrevverse", "Noisrev" being the name of the species of all her characters), and some of the games, despite taking place in different timelines, are connected. So, for the best experience, I recommend playing Cemetery Mary before Blackout Hospital.

Here's a more in-depth explanation of the playing order:

I'm gonna leave it at that, since I could ramble on and on about the intricasies of Noisrev lore, but I want you to experience it yourself. Also, if you end up liking these, do consider playing Arcade's other games! She has plenty. :3

AN EXPANDED VISUAL NOVEL UNIVERSE??? I love that kind of stuff. I know of very few of those (the most I usually see is x game is a piece of media or some merch in y game) but there's a lot of possibility there.

I've seen the games in passing (visual novel osmosis) but never anything too much. I shall add them to the list.

(i know a lot of people dont know about the existence of pathospires but theyre really cautious idk)

They could totally do that! In fact, I think some pathospires already do this!! Usually it's not for throwing people off though (which you're totally welcome to explore if you'd like of course!) but rather because they think it's cute and fun to do so.

In Noisrev, no one knows exactly what animal someone else is, unless they go full-animal mode. People just have estimations/assumptions of what animal someone else is! So for example, someone could look at Ingram and get the vibe he's some sort of bird, and they'd probably assume he's a crow, but they'd also keep in mind he might be some other type of black bird instead.

One of my own characters in fact is an orange-striped cat who tells people she's a tiger!

All this to say that if a pathospire wanted to pass themselves off as an animal, they'd be able to and it could be a fun story to explore--so go for it!!
