More Whaling/Whales AU (it needs a name ok), this time with two special guests, courtesy of @melisusthewee. Quinn and Horatio enter the scene, in style. Off to get those whales and make money and glory! (in two. On a rowboat. If you lots don't know how to fish it's not Quinn's fault.) (soundtrack) Aisling will dub him "The Arch-nemesis" because how dare he come near her pod with a gun? Not on her watch!

Adding this version of the science bros via Leyendecker study. Josephine will be added and Aisling's dress changed once I'll commit to a decade.

More than once, I have seen the head canon that Kid Blink will tell a different outrageous lie anytime someone asks about his eye patch. This WIP is a story in the 5 Things format (mad credit to Basingstoke!) based on that same premise, but applied to Crutchie.

One thing about having a disability is it's very tedious to have the same conversation over and over. And why do people you've just met feel entitled to your backstory, anyway? But it's kind of meta, because Crutchie's disability isn't established in canon,* so I'm also that annoying person asking, I giess.

Crutchie definitely has a sense of humor and, as a street kid, he is very pragmatic. He lies to mess with other kids, to impress, or to elicit pity, when that serves his purposes. This WIP is told from the POV of the people hearing the lies.

I started it a whole ago and I probably will never finish, oh well!

*I don't care what any actor says; if something is not in the script, it's not canon. Polio or trolley accident could be the truth ... or those could be lies, too!

"I could perhaps call you by any other name?" Frank circled around Phil in the backyard of his hut, a sword pointing towards him. "Phillipa, perhaps? Or is that too familiar? Your Highness?" Frank tipped over Phil's hat with his sword, knocking it down.

The fall of Phil's hat revealed long, wavy hair. Perhaps too long for a boy for this age and time. Instead of Phil, her Highness, Princess Phillipa Shaw, stood. Perhaps not completely, he still had his clothes.

Phillipa's long hair framed her face, and she glared through it at Frank, who was grinning at her. "So you found out." She started firmly. "Will you kill me? Hold me hostage?"

"None of these things, your Highness." Frank lifted Phillipa's head with the tip of his sword. "We'll get your pretty little face back to your daddy and ask your hand in marriage, or it won't end nicely."

Phillipa turned her head away, accidentally cutting herself on the tip. "Ah!" She cursed through gritted teeth in pain.

"The King is not that stupid to just marry me off to anyone who asks!" She growled.

Frank grabbed Phillipa's chin, pulling her head back to face him. "Oh, but your Highness... that's all part of the plan... your daddy sold you!"

Phillipa's eyes widened, her eyes losing light as the realization sank in.

ok, i just came up with a couple of questions

does laurie keep in touch with sam and rudy after graduation or they also go to backupsmore? where did laurie and jocelyn end up after graduating university?

About rudy and sam:

(for context about these goofs, sam LOVES space and astrophysics and all that jazz, while rudy is a MASSIVE comic nerd)

they don't go to backupsmore, but they get accepted into THEIR dream schools! I'm actually thinking MAYBE sam gets accepted into west coast tech? cause like its all science-y and probably has an AMAZING astronomy/astrophysics course? and from there shed become a pretty well known astronomer/astrophysicist (she wrote a few books!!!)

and as for rudy, MAYBE he gets sent to some random college in idaho cause I'm THINKING MAYYBEE his parents are all like "drawing isnt a job! youll get no where in life!!" or something like that, but he SELF-PUBLISHES some comics and someone finds his work, hired him, and gets a job doing something he really enjoys :D

as for if they keep in touch... they tried. rudy and sam kept tabs on eachother during their college years but the three of them kinda just drifted apart, yk? maybe laurie and jocelyn visited idaho during the holidays or smth and they get together with sam and rudy, but probably after that initial year of being apart they just fell out... friendships are like that, sometimes. (laurie, sam, and rudy are all still bffs tho, like theres no hatred between them. They left on good terms, its just their circumstances that were put between them. laurie is super proud of them and how far theyve come, though. maybe laurie sees one of sams books for sale and shes like "wow... im so proud of her" YK???)

AS FOR WHAT LAURIE AND JOCELYN WERE DOING AFTER GRADUATION:

this is like... 1974? (if i have the timeline right) so theyre kinda like "well, what do we do now?" so i like to imagine they travel around a bit. go to different states, sightsee, stuff like that. they spent a few years in canada, probably something like 8 years? (timelines still fucky, plus im still not 100% sure on lore. its all a wip) but then around mid/late 1985, theyre on their way back from somewhere (canada makes the most sense atm) and they get LOST.

but where do they end up?

honestly I have so many ideas written down somewhere, and keep getting new ones, I need to get to writing some of them lmao but here's just a few that are on my mind the most often lately:

silly little idea involving whatta man and personalized ringtones lmao - basically, Buck has a different ringtone for everyone, specific to what he associates with them or whatever, and his ringtone for Eddie is whatta man and Eddie has no idea for years until Buck misplaces his phone in the firehouse and Eddie calls it to help him find it (which Buck refuses bc he panics and claims it's on silent only to ask Hen to call him, and it's just a ridiculous fluffy idea lol)

pining Eddie post-6x15 bc I listened to two songs and got inspired lol

not exactly a new idea but I need to rewrite what I have bc it sucks - a 5+1 where Eddie calls Buck dorky nicknames (based on 'cowboy' lol) and finally accidentally calls him babe

and one more idea is slowly forming, also bc I listened to a song, tho it's nothing specific yet, but I feel like it's gonna be another smut (which i'm still not great at, wrote like 2 so far, but practice makes perfect right lol)
