Trying a new style
Something easier and more relaxing than what I usually do. Not that I hate my other style but I think there's too much room left for improving that one. This one on the other hand, is less challenging to do. Also I wanted an excuse to use my markers

Once for Halloween, an art teacher gave us all a monster to illustrate. I happened to get Lovecraft’s Dagon, a Cthulhu type of monster.

Day 4 of filling my sketchbook
Ive been writing something new lately, by which i mean i put a new story in an old setting just set years later. But this setting had a certain type of giant monster that's been nefariously hard for me to get out on paper, so i figured why the hell not lets try and somehow i managed it. Honestly thrilled with this, even though it took a lot of finagling. I love how blue acts in the blacklight as a little black hole, and I've been learning pretty fast what i can and can't do with aceylic pens.
I'm also playing with the idea that the photograph of the paper work is "the work", which i know is abstract. But these pieces look totally different under white light/in person, and honestly the process i took (which in my mind becomes somewhat sculptural in the way i "carve" the shape out of the paint and darkness) is really tailored to what i see on the phone screen as i record video of it. Its reactive: I try something, check it on my phone screen, and then adjust or make new decisions accordingly.
The paint on paper (reasonably) looks more painterly or impressionistic (probably misusing that) in person, where you can actually see the strokes and the layers and the "true" colours without the blacklight albedo thay the phone picks up. Honestly, the photo isn't even what it looks like in person under black light. It's something else, but i haven't found the language to describe it yet.
Also, can't suggest enough to spend your moeny on just the black and white poscas if you're trying to save when buying paint pens. The neons were like 20$usd from and work fine, but the paint and colourant don't stay in suspension well. But stack them on posca and its plenty opaque!

So I kinda did the whole thing again
Yes, I know I should've used a lighter background
But I'm happy with the result...ok, almost happy
I added an abdomen and it's my favorite part. I used purple themed color because I love these colors, they look so good and second I wanted to give it a royalty feel, because our lady spider is delusional and thinks she's royalty and that's why she wears purple themed color s( don't ask what kind of fabric she used) I drew the abdomen like a jewel for the same reason
The idea came to my mind for my game (which I have in my mind, I don't know if I ever make it but still, it's fun to imagine) and I think this lady can be a good boss fight

Kasa-obake (傘おばけ) is a Japanese hopping umbrella yokai that usually appears on rainy days, so if it's raining, be on the lookout and don't let it lick you!!
