The popular music from the late noughts on made rock quite popular as you can hear. Sure, a couple of cognoscenti dislike a fact that their favourite Pitchfork-approved bands don't get the numbers of, say, Imagine Dragons, but this doesn't mean rock is dying. Speaking of the collective – they became the next Nickelback, though I would dare to call them the next Killers, had the latter tried to mix Van Halen from the 80's, which wrestled in their spare time, that is shadowed by an A.I. bot trained on Max Martin. Something gets lost in the translation here, yet you have to admire their audacity to make such a melange. Sure, they are basically Spinal Tap without a laugh track for the TikTok age, though – isn't one of the points of rock also to be willing to make a fool out of yourself?
