#Maybe I'm just a sucker for redemption and forgiveness arcs

I'm curious if you have any thoughts on what Ben Paul would look like if he was alive years after S1 of TWDG :> I honestly prefer to imagine both him & Kenny going off on their own adventures after S1, because Idk if I'd've had Kenny as part of S2, it felt like when he returned it became less Clem's story & more his. That might be controversial among fans but it's how I feel :s I like to imagine Ben, Kenny & Sarita forming their own little family in fact <3 I'd expect Ben would end up with shaggier hair after a while but I wouldn't mind knowing what he'd look like with short, spiked up hair ;>
IM SORRY BOTH THE ASK AND DRAWING ARE OLD- but I came across the sketch I had eugeugeh. I do not have many headcanons but behind the cut is just a rant about. Kenny mostly. Too much should I warn? But yah I'm sorry it took me like 5 months lol
Tumblr media
The only headcanon (regarding Ben's appearance) is that he'd keep his school jacket for as long as possible. Until it thorns apart. Or until he dies.
I'm big fan of Ben lives possibility btw I've gotta draw sum about that sometime (I say, about every twdg character i like,)
And dude, do I agree about Kenny. Man doesn't belong in season 2. The character they made him to be in the second season is not Kenny, it's just a nostalgia element. Don't get me wrong, I love the guy, I'm biased as hell, I break that hug choice every time. But it made the character development in the first season just.... pointless. "For some reason, I saved that piece of shit Ben", man, that quote just disappoints me. Kenny lost everything. Father and husband of none no more, which was pretty much the arc of Kenny on the first season?? I think? . Everything he loved and he had he lost, and he killed the person responsible for it. But not as revenge, he killed a kid out of mercy. He saved the boy from suffering a painful death, and that was forgiveness, to the reason he hadn't any. He took a decision he would be fully responsible of, when it was time for him to go. And he was perfect.
Hell, if he had appeared during season 2, I do prefer the Kenny as Carver idea. Clementine wasn't even that close to Kenny in the past, the player was, so even then it feels... off, off to be forced to care about a man that says so much he wants to protect you. (They're not really family, but is as if Kenny tries to protect and have Clem on his side, to have Clem's loyalty through and through. Though he does let her go and is proud of her on her individuality... hm.) But still, I mean, second season Kenny is not first season Kenny, and it isn't even a change that made sense. If he had been antagonist (which pretty much feels like it in the Canon story already), he should have had some other background story, no Sarita or company. Maybe then the cynical view he has would have mattered. The violence and anger and whatever else. For him to change that way was a consequence of him losing what he represented, protection of family? Wasn't failure and grief and acceptance meant to be important after all?
But otherwise yea I think it would've been pretty cool if Ben survived :3 I am a sucker for tales of redemption, forgiveness, and found family. And I hadn't thought about Kenny, Ben, and Sarita, but hell yeah. Man, even if they appeared in the second season, it would've been interesting if the choice wasn't between two individuals, but between two families. Ben already had a relationship with Clem! He appreciated her and calls her his only friend during season 1, he did leave her behind during that scene, -but the point of Ben was that- He was a coward all the season, until when he wasn't. He wanted to help Lee help Clem. They would've had an interesting sibling relationship-? also Ben had a young sister before the apocalypse so ooooh projection and parallels and shi. And if Ben had lived, he would've completed his development to something close to bravery-?
Well, I don't know, at least I think that'd be one interesting way to bring back old characters. Otherwise, Kenny should only be mentioned on dialogue maximum. The way I see it.
(I repeat the same thing over and over when I talk about something I'm sorry
(I've developed no language skills whatsoever in my life

Evil Sparrow AU
Look, I adore Sparrow as a goofy little human just trying to make friends with all the non-humans he’s happened to come across and learn how to be like them…but I also am a sucker for AUs where characters are actually evil or sinister so I bring you this:
In this AU Sparrow basically still wants to obtain powers and abilities of his own, but his method of doing so is far more sinister than canon. Perhaps at one point early on in his quest he pursued his goal with pure intentions...but failure has driven him to the point of madness.
He starts out friendly, acting like some goofy and friendly human that just wants to know how to powers of his own and is able to befriend some of the strangers in this land which will make it so much more easy to eventually steal them away.
Eventually he learns that the magic in this land brings one back upon death, but it's not always something that is certain and so he does not wish to use that method to gain powers since no one really knows how many times a person can die and he doesn't know if it actually works on humans like himself (in this AU, lets pretend the other humans are hybrids).
On the surface, it appears like he's just trying to make due with the resources at his disposal and live a humble life, but unknown to the many others in this land he's actually advanced quite farther than he has in canon. Underground he has a whole lab and many, many ways to figure out exactly what makes hybrids what they are.
Of course, when he does his experiments on the hybrids he tricks into his grasp, he wears a disguise so that they don't know its him and Sparrow can maintain his persona.
Maybe some of the hybrids die during his attempts, maybe once he gets what he wants he kills them himself. Sure they'll get new abilities on death, but that only means he can use them again and again.
Deep down, a part of him knows what he's doing is wrong, but another part that is desperate overshadows it and all morals.
Some amount of time later and Sparrow is still very much human but he does have many powers that he's learned to replicate from those he experimented on so he's technically able to do things humans shouldn't be able to actually do.
I'm sure eventually someone figures it out; either by accident as they stumble upon the lab under Sparrow's area or just by piecing things together over time. Regardless the method of discovery, the truth gets out.
In the end, perhaps all the hybrids that are left unite against him.
There's many ways this AU can end for Sparrow of course, some better than others.
1. Maybe he realizes what he's become and is scared and horrified by what he's done. He flees never to be seen again or goes into hiding and is found by one or more people, who he begs for forgiveness; whether or not they forgive him is open to debate.
If he is forgiven he tries to make amends with others and gets a redemption arc. If not, he's left to wallow in his misery until death.
2. Maybe he's told that he doesn't need powers to be special, that all the hybrids loved him as just the silly human living in their lands. Again, a redemption arc follows and things start looking better for him.
3. Maybe, those that unite against him take all his lives in one fell swoop and he dies a villain with no hope of redemption.
4. Or maybe, he wins and becomes the most powerful human to ever live and returns home with his newfound abilities. The hybrids of the land he crashed into are no more and their powers are now his to exploit.

Gethen and Oralie have similar physical traits: azure/bright blue eyes and blond hair. Gethen was recruited for the Neverseen due to his Washing skills. Gisela needed an Empath for Nightfall. What if Gethen and Oralie are siblings or cousins? When Gethen became a full member, Gisela got him to recruit Oralie so Oralie could help Gisela with Nightfall. Oralie's a powerful Empath, sneaky, has a disregard for rules, and is a Councillor, all of which could help the Neverseen. (1/2).
Gethen tried to recruit her, but Oralie refused to join (and maybe tried to turn him in?). Gethen erased her Neverseen-related memories, but he didn't forgive her. Later, the Neverseen killed Kenric to punish Oralie for refusing to join. Gethen threatened, then tried to kill Oralie in Lodestar bc he still holds a grudge. But after he killed Mr. Forkle he realized that he just couldn't go through with it, because they used to be friends, so that's why Oralie survived Lumenaria. (2/2).
Oooth, this is a fascinating theory, anon! I'm always a sucker for one sibling is evil one sibling is good type vibes, and this would be an absolutely heartbreaking one. Both Gethen and Oralie know that the world needs changing, that things can't continue the way they are, but Gethen thinks that the only way to do that is the destruction that the Neverseen inflict, and Oralie aligns herself with the Black Swan and the Council. Oralie thinks they can change the world without destruction; Gethen follows Fintan's ideals of burning it all to the ground and starting over.
It would be interesting to have them interact & Gethen shout at Oralie about how she 'betrayed' him by not joining the Neverseen, and how he thought she wanted to change the world, and Oralie is like 'I don't know what you're talking about' and Gethen tells her he tried to recruit her. Could even potentially segue into a Gethen redemption arc if he realizes he can't keep a grudge against her and she manages to talk him out of his loyalty to the Neverseen- or could lead down a far more tragic road if Oralie gets angry and he lashes out in return, swearing that he's actually going to kill her the next time around...

Hiya fellow TF enjoyer! I saw that ask game sooooo...
16, 25, 30 , 35 you can choose any of 'em!
Yay! From the 35 questions for fanfic writers
16. I am a sucker for the hurt/comfort trope. Maybe because of my own personal hang ups and traumas, I just like the idea of someone helping another when they are in pain and being by their side. It's not a fix all, but it's the start of just getting better and having support and not being ridiculed for having emotions or feeling pain.
This is starting to get a little too personal. MOVING ON!
25. I mean, this question I'm technically already addressing in my fanfic with the unpublished chapters I have on the shelf, such as the Hizuru chapter. But there are some other items, like what if the Survey Corps ended up in TFP instead. It probably wouldn't be as much fun. The Decepticons would try to kidnap Eren, obviously. Levi has it out for Megatron. Hanji just dies from shock. TFP Kids and 104th just get along swimmingly. Fowler has too much paper work. Although the Scouts would not be as close to Optimus as they are in AOP.
Although I do have this headcanon that Hanji and Shockwave don't get along because she takes one look at Shockwave and says "For a guy who managed to fuck with god and create the most adorable lizard ever (referring to Predaking), not building yourself a new arm and face just seems...illogical."
Shockwave wants to kill her after that comment because he refuses to acknowledge her logic.
30. Tooth-rotting fluff vs merciless angst? I think you fail to understand how well these two can work in tandem. Because the Fluff is the stuff that you want to add and see that isn't shown in the show. Like I write certain fluff moments like the Survey Corps and Optimus dancing and Optimus showing the bioluminescence to them because it's character building. It makes them happy. They have this moment of peace in the chaos of their lives.
This makes the merciless angst all the more heartbreaking because as you reflect on the moments of peace and happiness, the angst solidifies the fact that those moments will never be the same. You can never get them back. They are gone.
35. What can I ramble about without spoiling too much?... *Snaps fingers* Got it.
Megatron's characterization in AOP is...challenging. Back in 2013 when I first started the story, I wanted to add Megatron for a while but I just wasn't sure how it was going to work or even if it would be popular. The poll that I did on fanfiction.net in chapter 4 all those years ago was really to see how popular Megatron was going to be. Although, Grimlock was an unexpected lead at the time. I think he was first.
But I wanted to take the challenge, not just because Megatron dipping in the series finale left a lot to be desired, but also because I'm sick of the way redemptions arcs are going. I can go on for days about the writing in regards to Catra, Hordak, whatever was going on in MLP.
*Glares at Steven Universe* the Diamonds.
Redemption requires people actively growing and becoming better people. Not continuously defaulting to toxic behavior even after they've been completely accepted into the fold. It's not about getting a slap on the wrist for war crimes that violate the fucking Geneva Convention and beyond. It's about recognizing the consequences of your actions and trying to fix it the best way you can, even though there is a high possibility your victims will never forgive you and they have every right not to. And even if you are pursuing forgiveness, it cannot be just to make yourself feel better, because forgiveness requires the other to let go of their pain and release. Grow to become better, change for the better, no matter how long it takes, because wallowing in your sin and self-pity will only get you so far.
There's only so much that I can do with Megatron considering his heavy war crimes, but I do hope that what I've written with the 16 chapters I have left, is enough for Megatron's character development into a better person. I do use redemption lightly for his scenario because even if he does become a better person, 'redemption' for his crimes is nearly impossible. It can really only be paid for with his life. As to what will be Megatron's fate by the end of the story? You'll find out when I finish writing the last few chapters.

I hope I'm not bothering you, so feel free to ignore this, but I yearn to know: if you had full creative control of the show, how would you run season 5? You can pick and choose whatever leaks you want to include.
So it's better late than never. Seriously for don't answer before and make you wait I didn't forget it I just this was more difficult than I expected every time I saw the white page on my computer I didn't felt the inspiration or have the energy to do it but it's 3 am, I can't sleep sooooo
let's started:
*jughead won't be alcoholic *Veronica isn't married *that awful song doesn't exist, that dint happen was just a collective nightmare instead veronica sings "I kissed a girl" to betty bcs I want to. * maybe is unpopular but I'm not excited for the idea of all working on the high school post-time jump give me glee flashbacks and I hate it. * I will ignore all the new interviews, stills, spoilers. I choose delusion. * I use the phrase "rebuild the truth" a lot Even when I hate it I will give more priority to the cheating storyline and the arcs of the characters how this will affect not only their relationship romantic/friendship. I would put a really heart-heart conversation between Jarchie, Beronica, and Barchie; Ba comes clear apologizing bcs they make a mistake and being sincere with JV. Talking about Ba I dig more into their thinking, motivations, and feelings for both, Give to Archie his point of view and give MORE priority to the core 4 trauma and how they deal with it. And then try to figure out how it could move the plot of the mystery like maybe when Jughead finds out about the kiss he tries to distract himself and go more into the mystery as we see before. Archie's having the things clear in the end but Veronica choosing herself first and deciding that break up would be the best even when it would hurt both. I would show a bit of their life's out on Riverdale Just to the end of the episode, there's some reason everybody comes back to the town probably related to the death (I still think that pops will die). Veronica would be a successful businesswoman, she is an icon in New York and dates a beautiful woman called Rebbeca but when veronica decides to come back to RVD they break up, bcs Rebecca wants to take a time to work on herself, and Veronica comebacks to Riverdale to take control again of pops and start to work with Tabitha remodeling pops maybe and maybe try to become it a franchise. I'm not sure what I would do with Archie but the writers either, so I'll keep the firefighter storyline but he would use a shirt all the time bcs I'm tired of seeing KJ on shirtless (at this point is every man of this show) also he will take total control of Fred's construction company. Veronica contracts Fred's company and varied start to spend more and more time together and try to be just friends while finding their way back to each other and obviously angsty, pining, longing maybe a bit more of angsty and Pining Archie fight for V love. I'll give Toni the screentime that she deserves and let her shine for herself I would like that the show makes justice to the choni/Toni storyline this season but I learn don't get my hope up with this show focusing on the Toni family and her backstory more and making her an individual character again. I'll love to see more musicals moments Vannesa and drew singing together, and Toni and fangs being on a band give to me now. I think first I will talk about ba and then about betty. Love triangle: No más eso no sirve. So I will end with that before time jump they will still felt guilty and regretful for hurt JV and lose them. Archie always be the boy that betty dreamed of for too long and Bettys will always have on Archies heart also they don't idealize each other anymore but still, they will love each other but in a different way.I'm not against the show exploring new relationships and least to betty dating someone else I always expected that the writers will explore ba at some point, I just expected something different, so I'm not against ba dating post time jump for any reason that the writers could think but the thing I would do its ba talking about their feelings for one another, discussing how to live could've been if he never rejected her (not so much bcs Jason was already death, anyways) make a what-if episode/ or an Au episode where Archie don't reject betty but ultimately in that episode it is shown that they are better off as friends & that the road not taken still would lead to bugvarchie.
One thing that I love about the s1 is that in a way or another everybody was involved in the mystery the core 6 with Toni and the serpents could be a good way to get information. One of the points of the season will be the redemption and the rebuild of the seasons so I will go to a semi-slow-burn with the friendships of the shows, I never feel what I supposed to feel for Jarchie but one of the things that I love about some fics saw the rebuild of beronica friendship so I would put so much effort on that and put more moments when we could appreciate the friendship of the core 4 to make it feel more genuine.  Veronica will forgive Betty when seeing how much betty misses her and try to fix the things between them.
As a lot of people do I think that bughead won't break up pre-time jump, Jughead will forgive betty and they will try a long-distance relationship I would like to say that they will leave the cheating behind we would see them being happy and walking to the sunset and live happily ever after but a cheating storyline for them breaking up for the distance doesn't feel good to me so the cheating will affect their relationship and they will try to get over it but it will be a little factor+ the distance and all the responsibilities that have on the university combined make them realize that the timing isn't right, time apart for growing individually, met other people, so they talk about and decide that break up is the best and have a friendly break up.
I think that betty would meet a lot of people some serious relationships other not so serious she will meet some idiots sadly wemet some idiots (that she later will tell veronica and they would laugh together about the looser that stood up Betty and didn't see her on that beautiful readdress) and some really nice guys, Charmings that will care about her and he will want her but sadly the things won't work out. Betty being an FBI agent I'm in, betty being a full badass I'm in, her struggling to follow the rules of the FBI I'm in that's the betty that we love. I have not problems with our favs having difficult times I would keep him having writers' block but not one hit writer I will go to him having problems to find the inspiration to write the end of the story that he starts a long time ago. And for Jessica even when I would like to see jealous betty it seems that every relationship at the beginning of the time jump its borrow time and that's unfair for her so they will be together like 2 or 3 eps max, I think Jughead will love her but on a different way that he loves betty and their relationship seems that isn't on a good moment since the beginning so betty being again on jughead life will be just little factor on their relationship I would put betty investigating the disappearance of Polly and jughead with the Mothman they investigating in different paths until the next episode to see that their investigation is related and start to work together. I'm here to see bughead being single for a time, see their relationships as friends then I will go to the undercover/fake dating/kissing for a cover route I will go for angst, the pining, jealousy, Longing looks, and denial of their feelings and there would be conflict both being scare pf their feelings, let the walls that the build after years being apart down until they can hide the fact that never stop loving to each other. Also, I add this of last moment while we explore bughead future I would show more about bughead backstory, go more into their friendship and pre-pilot relationship, they reading together young Jughead pining for young betty I'm a sucker for that.

Oh look it’s 4 am, time to talk about Digimon
So I was kinda thinking about the reboot in tri. and how we learned in Loss that the reboot does indeed revive every single Digimon including ones who had been basically permadead from dying in the Human World.
Now obviously that should mean that all of the villians from Adventure should be alive once again although they should probably be just widdle babbies because the reboot was still very recent and none of them should have had time to evolve to Perfect or Ultimate yet.
((Yes, I know, we had Mugendramon and MetalSeadramon in Loss, but these two were extremely shady to say the least, seeming like they were being controlled by Gennai like puppets, similarly to Imperialdramon in Determination (y’know, suddenly incapable of speech and whatever), so for now I’m going to hesitate from believing that those two were infact the original Dark Masters brought back to life))
So, obviously I can’t help but to wonder, could it be possible for the Chosen to just run into Baby!Etemon or Baby!Vamdemon at some point? What about Baby-Level Dark Masters? Devimon? WHAT ABOUT ARCHNEMON AND MUMMYMON, CAN THEY COME BACK TO LIFE?? BLACK WARGREYMON??
That’s a facinating concept, is it not? Of course, considdering all the millions of Digimon that got reset it’d be hard for the Chosen just specifically run into any of these 10 villians specifically, like the odds aren’t exactly in our favor, not to mention it wouldn’t probably be easy for the Chosen to even recognize the Digimon since they’ve only seen them as higher level Digimon, not Child or below.
But that does bring us to an interesting point- the villians should now have all been granted a second chance at life, a brand new begining. In their previous lives they turned out very evil, so how would they turn out this time? Would they be good Digimon this time around with no one to be a bad influence on them, or would they turn out evil anyways, is it an unavoidable fate of somekind?
You’d think that wouldn’t happen to Black WarGreymon since his “evil ways” were just a result of his angst and confusion over his sudden existence, while Archnemon and Mummymon were being pretty much bossed around by Oikawa right off the bat, but what about the others?
Back in Adventure it was stated that all of Adv’s villians gained their powers from Apocalymon, so I gotta ask, did Apocalymon at all influence those Digimon with his powers and turn them evil, just like Meicoomon does with her infection? Because if that is the case, then Apocalymon’s “infection” should now have been cleared from the villians, right?
This is just facinating to me, and I’d die for some answers to these questions because not answering them feels like a huge waste, does it not? tri. has so much story potential here and currently there’s like no signs that they might explore this really (although it is most certainly still possible they could explore this briefly, we do have two more movies to go after all and our two “Masters” in Loss definitely need to be explained one way or another)
#DigiBlogging#tri. spoilers#I'm sorry I am just a huge sucker for redemption arcs and tri. has just opened up the greatest opportunity to redeem all of the villians#And that's just exciting for me. Think of the possibilities dude#At the same time I feel like the reboot concept is kind of being wasted here like. It's an excelent story element but could be used so much#*better maybe?? IDK I don't want to critique tri. too much yet because it's still not finished#Like I just felt like the whole ''Digimon being enslaved by getting forced into being partners with humans'' is an excelent concept thing#that could be explored but like. It lacks all of the weight without the Zero Two epilouge being tied into it. Or Internation Chosen#I could ramble about that subject for like hours but yeah a Digi villian being like ''I don't like the concept of my species being turned...#...into servants for the entire human race'' could be super facinating to explore but tri. isn't really a good place to do it#In a similar way I feel like the whole ''villians get a second chance at life'' thing could be so interesting but needs a different setting#Like imagine if like. IDK Devimon had come back but wanted to reboot the world so that he could be forgiven of his past sins#Because no one would forget what he had done or forgive him so the only way to free himself would be to make everyone forget#((I mean according to bonus Adv. materials Devimon was indeed turned evil by a dark force and he used to be an Angel Digi))#((So let's assume that dark force was Apocalymon's ''infection'' and he was still stuck with it after being reborn once))#((Like dude that could be such an interesting story!! But it's super unlikely that's gonna be what tri. has in mind and I'm kinda sad))#IDK I've rambled enough about this time for me to go to bed
