Epstein's flight list is being released in parts and there's already some misconceptions about it.
Being on the list doesn't automatically mean that they had sex with children. It's always possible that there are people who just used his plane to get from one country to the other.
Some people might not have even known about the island since it didn't get out until like, what, 2006? The people who did know but continued to have a relationship with Epstein should be looked into, definitely. We just don't know who those people are yet.
We can probably guess who did based on their previous actions and connections to Epstein. Like Donald Trump, obviously. He made comments about the victims before many times. Probably Bill Clinton too, since we know for a fact that he used his power at least once for sexual pleasure. He probably gets off on that.
Right now people are mostly focusing on the fact that Stephen Hawking was apparently mentioned. The only context I could find was an email that Epstein made to somebody saying that he will pay money to prove that Hawking didn't have an underage orgy. (This was the only context i could find without having to pay money.)
I'm just going to say what I think about this outright- that sounds like a joke. You don't have to pay money to prove that the man who lost the ability to walk in his 20's didn't have sex with children. Of course there's a possibility that he at least knew about the island. We might never know for sure.
People have been making jokes about this and it's making me feel kind of sick to my stomach trying to read the list. Once the entire thing is out I might read it to myself and keep my thoughts to myself.

I May Have A Type...
I made this after realizing that I may have a type for dirty blondes and blondes in general... (Don't mind Elsa in the corner 😅😅)
Tumblr media
And this next one... I really think I have a type...
Tumblr media
I don't know what I should call this type I have but I feel like there are some similarities... I just can't place my finger on it.

Reading update
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Best Men by Sidney Karger - 3.5/5 stars
Man. When I started reading this, I was positive I was going to rate it 5 stars. The first third or so was hysterical, often to the point of me not being able to breathe because I was laughing so hard. Ultimately though, the romance fell extremely flat. There wasn't really enough development for it, and I don't think it boils down to a marketing issue—the romance is too big of a focus to say, "Oh, this was just general fiction they wanted to market as a romcom." It really was an issue with the romance just not being very well written. Another issue I had was that at times, the writing was very...cringey. Like, I couldn't tell if the author was trying to keep Max's voice (which was funny) or if he just can't write genuinely heartfelt scenes. The big, romantic sex scene could probably be added to that one post with the collection of horribly written sex scenes.
There were also some weird inaccuracies about Midwesterners that of course bugged me as a Midwesterner. We call soda "Coke?" No we don't. It's pop. Maybe there's some southern creep into the Midwest but I've N E V E R heard anyone say Coke when they meant pop generally. Also, Midwesterners like pools? I mean I guess, but we learn to swim in lakes (as opposed to the ocean).
In case you're wondering, I knocked an entire star off for the Midwest inaccuracies.
Mountain Ghost Stories and Curious Tales of Western North Carolina, edited by Randy Russell and Janet Barnett - 3.5/5 stars
I picked this up at one of the visitor centers in Great Smoky Mountains National Park on our trip there last fall. Most of these are more like folk stories than ghost stories.
Timberdark by Darren Charlton - 5/5 stars
What if the real dystopia isn't the zombie apocalypse, but "normal" life?
I was going to leave it at that but NO, I have more to say. Why aren't these books more popular? Why isn't everyone screaming about how gorgeous they are and how this is what YA should be? Why do they not have a US publisher? Why are they not all over freaking BookTok tables at bookstores?
I honestly don't even want to say that much about the Wranglestone duology because I want everyone to read them and experience them. Wranglestone and Timberdark are genuinely a couple of the most gorgeous books I've ever read, Timberdark in particular.
Road of Bones by Christopher Golden - 3.25/5
Immaculate vibes and incredible setting. Not much more to it than that.
Ravensong by Carla Fay - DNF
At 4 pages in. I hated everything about this book immediately and I don't have a good reason.
Maelstrom by Jordan L Hawk - 4.5/5 stars
BODY SWAP.
A Pocketful of Lies: Collected Stories by KJ Charles - 5/5 stars
5/5 stars for Masters in This Hall alone.
If I See You Again Tomorrow by Robby Couch - 4.25/5 stars
Considering this is billed and marketed as a romance, there was surprisingly little romance in it. It was good, though. Robby Couch is one of my favorite queer YA romance writers.
Eleventh Hour by Elin Gregory - 3.75/5 stars
OMG they were mission partners! Interwar period gay spies in London, hard to go wrong.
Out in the Open by AJ Truman - 3.75/5 stars
Truman has this habit of describing sex scenes in bizarre and not particularly sexy ways ("I sucked his cock a thousand times harder than a vacuum cleaner" is an actual real comparison from this book), but his books are funny with endearing characters, so I give him a pass. I also think it MIGHT be something he does when he's writing younger characters, because the other time it was really pronounced was in The Barkeep and the Bro, where one of the characters was in his mid 20s (Out in the Open is a college romance).
Winter's Orbit by Everina Maxwell - 5/5 stars (reread)
This book was as good, if not better, the second time around. Kiem is so funny and lovable and Jainan's history made me even more sad. I really love how well Maxwell handles the fact that Jainan was in an abusive marriage for five years while still writing a slow burn romance that doesn't span multiple books. This book is an inspiration to me and is pretty much my perfect book—gay and sci-fi. On this reread I could really see its influence on my own writing, haha. Which is cool to know that I can still be influenced in a major way even this far into my writing life!
Anyway if you haven't read this book, I honestly don't know what you're waiting for. Read it read it reeeeead ittttt.
A Veil of Gods and Kings by Nicole Bailey - DNF
DNF at 15 pages. The main character was annoying and the author took 'show don't tell' a little too far. Everything was described in flowery, overwrought purple prose. Seriously, it's a road. You can just say it's a road. Also I never want to see 'Artemis' shortened to 'Temi' ever again. Please just no.

mash characters as taylor swift albums:
trapper: 1989; immaculate vibes, party central, city boy, tough act to follow
klinger: fearless; “in my best dress/ fearless” (enough said), unhinged, talks about home/family a lot (i.e. fifteen, the best day)
margaret: reputation; tough on the outside but secretly soft, bad bitch, donald penobscott was her getaway car
potter: debut; horse girl
radar: speak now; all about coming of age/loss of innocence, both are country™️, hawkeye looks at radar and “never grow up” just plays on a hoop in his head
winchester: evermore; so much older and wiser and I-, but both are intellectuals and value alone time
bj: midnights; just unhinged as hell, bj definitely feels like everybody is a sexy baby and he’s a monster on the hill, he is the mastermind, sweet nothing feels very him and peggy
sidney: lover; this album has its shit together and so does sidney, also he’s such a cinnamon roll, he deserves this
and finally, I saved the best for last…
hawkeye: double feature of red and folklore; yes he gets two albums- I’ll break it down
red: early seasons hawkeye, he’s happy free confused and lonely at the same time, but both the album and hawkeye are concerned with the passage of time, both experience a wide range of emotions, and both have a deeply ingrained sense of what should be (and it’s a deeply ingrained sense that’s being tested), and they’re both rebellious in nature
(if you are so inclined “the last time” is him saying goodbye to trapper and “begin again” is him meeting bj)
folklore: later seasons hawkeye, concerned again with the passing of time but this time in reference to childhood vs. where they find themselves now, both want to go home but can’t, both are concerned with a need to perform for others despite hawkeye’s shattered edges glistening, both are concerned with the idea of “madness” and what it means to be labeled as “mad”, also “they told me all of my cages were mental so I got wasted like all my potential and my words shoot to kill when I'm mad I have a lot of regrets about that I was so ahead of the curve, the curve became a sphere fell behind on my classmates, and I ended up here”

Note
5, 12, 16, and 30 (bo and max and hawk)
5. Do you have a favorite NPC? Or type of NPC?
i mean you know i love them fucked up. tbh i think my favorite type of npc is just? morally grey? npcs who dont have good choices but make the best of what they have. npcs who do bad things out of love. npcs who know they arent making the right choices but do them anyway for reasons that are hard to explain. npcs who do good things for fucked up reasons. love an npc i can Chew On. who my actual favorite is very much depends on the day and what convos im having lmao
12. What's your favorite part of playing DND?
as a player, the character relationships. simply dnd is my soap and i love the little guys being in Situations together. how the pcs grow together .... how the pcs and npcs interact .... everything the npcs have going on behind the scenes .... i love a Character and im putting them all in my mouth
16. Do you have any archetypes you tend to play?
sadbois lol. but i've played an incredible variety of characters and thats how i like it. i like stretching my comfort zone when it comes to character's i'll play and while for long running characters i do like them to be a little Tragic, i've played pcs all over the board (i counted a few days ago and have played 24 pcs over the last 6 years. so.)
30. What are their thoughts on justice?
bo: bo thinks justice is people. he doesn't believe in cosmic justice or fate or anything like that. he thinks justice is someone saying "i will do good today" and then doing that. he thinks if everyone woke up and said "i will do one thing that i can today" the world would all be okay. he very much believes in like. Goodness and not so much in punishment. he will always always reach out in kindness if that's an option available to him and he doesn't care if it backfires on him as long as he tried
maxwell: max believes that people are fundamentally people and that people will do good when they're motivated to and do bad when they're motivated to and it doesn't get a lot more complicated than that. he doesnt really believe in Good And Evil but believes in kindness and selfishness and the fact that they often coexist not only in the same people but the same actions. he believes that bad actions deserve to be punished but that good actions often go overlooked. mostly he thinks everything has Context and that context is often more important than the thing itself
hawk: hawk is very much the like. guy in a world that is too big for him kind of character. his world was very small for a very long time and he didn't have magic for a very long time and so a lot of his thoughts on justice are very like. kind of small and practical. people should take care of other people. act with fairness. do your best even when its hard. dont act with cruel motivations even if the act itself can seem harmful. he believes violence has a place and serves a purpose but hasn't really like. seen the kind of violence some of the other characters have. he is kind of just some hick in a like. wild fantasy world and so his Scope on his moral compass can run into issues sometimes. mostly he believes in fairness

Partner Swap! Your OC in the following ships:
Indy/Doc, Reilli/Anders, Adel/Hancock
OMG so...
Indy and Doc would have the best time ever. They're both messy with good hearts. They would leave so many explosions and broken hearts behind them while just living it up. It would start out as casual fun and then they'd sort of just end up with each other forever.
Reilli and Anders would be so much angst lol. Reilli will fight with everything she has for a good cause, which mage freedom certainly is, so I'm sure Anders would be taken with her. As a Jedi, she's also... sort of a mage? So they'd have that in common. That said, Reilli is probably my most lawful good character and so would probably have a hard time with what Anders does. I think they'd pull through eventually but not without Reilli having to do some soul searching about what is really right.
Adel and Hancock would get along well but IDK if they'd really hit it off. Hancock has a good heart and does do his part to help those on the corners of society but he doesn't have the right... passion? Adel burns hot and I think needs someone who can meet that kind of intensity. That said, I think they'd be friends and would have a good time just hanging out. Adel would definitely invite him to the Hanged Man for cards and drinks.
