Covid, Ema: "Rimarrà e va gestito, si va verso vaccini annuali"

E' lo "scenario più plausibile" anche per gli esperti dell'Agenzia europea del farmaco Ema, nonostante permanga in Sars-CoV-2 ancora una certa "imprevedibilità". Di certo, "il virus rimarrà e va gestito al meglio" e bisogna cominciare a pensarci da subito, per farsi trovare pronti. A spiegare all'Adnkronos Salute come si sta muovendo l'Ema su questo piano è Marco Cavaleri, responsabile della strategia per le minacce sanitarie e i vaccini dell'ente regolatorio Ue, dopo che una settimana fa è rimbalzato sui media Usa un documento della Fda che mostra come anche l'agenziaamericana stia valutando e pianificando un possibile schema annuale per le vaccinazioni Covid sul modello influenza. "Noi ne avevamo già parlato l’anno scorso e concordiamo che ragionare in termini di rivaccinazione annuale con possibile vaccino aggiornato, rimane lo scenario più plausibile, nonostante le incertezze relative a un virus ancora poco prevedibile", osserva Cavaleri. L'Agenzia europea del farmaco effettivamente già a luglio 2022, parlando dei futuri vaccini Covid e delle modalità di approvazione, accennava al fatto che "potremmo essere in grado di spostarci verso un quadro simile a quello" attualmente usato "per i vaccini antinfluenzali, che non richiede lapresentazione di dati clinici prima dell'approvazione del vaccino aggiornato annualmente". E aveva ribadito ancora a dicembre scorso, per voce proprio di Cavaleri, che probabilmente finiremo a dover "aggiornare regolarmente i vaccini anti-Covid per offrire la rivaccinazione ai gruppi vulnerabili, come facciamo" ogni anno "con il vaccino antinfluenzale". Dal canto suo l'Organizzazione mondiale della sanità si è mostrata più cauta: il segretario esecutivo del gruppo consultivo strategico Sage, Joachim Hombach, nei giorni scorsi ha evidenziato che sarebbe prematuro dare ora una risposta definitiva su quanto spesso dovremo ripetere la vaccinazione,perché il virus sembra ancora instabile e non è diventato del tutto stagionale, ma allo stesso tempo ha ammesso che una vaccinazione annuale è ipotizzabile. Anche all'Ema la riflessione è in corso. "Entro fine marzo il quadro sarà più chiaro", dice Cavaleri, che spiega come l'attività decisionale e di pianificazione "riguarderà soprattutto l'eventuale aggiornamento dei vaccini". Venice is a meeting place for cultures, an aquatic crossroads of knowledges, and a mixture of flavors and outlooks. An invitation to reflect on inclusion, the notion that sustainability can only be achieved through mutual respect between human and non-human lifeforms, and the fact that the city itself, the Queen of the Adriatic, is the result of migrations, exchanges, encounters, connections, and defenses.

Covid-19: Vacinas adaptadas devem chegar em setembro, de 2.ª geração só em 2023

A Agência Europeia dos Medicamentos (EMA) anunciou hoje que as vacinas contra a covid-19 adaptadas às novas variantes do coronavírus SARS-CoV-2 poderão ser aprovadas “em setembro”, continuando a recomendar o segundo reforço só para maiores de 80 anos.

A situação epidemiológica “parece estar controlada” e o número de infeções e mortes por covid-19 “têm diminuído drasticamente”, disse hoje em conferência de imprensa Marco Cavaleri, responsável pela estratégia de vacinação da EMA.

“Em setembro poderão ser aprovadas as primeiras vacinas atualizadas”, adiantou, explicando tratar-se ainda de vacinas que utilizam a tecnologia de RNA mensageiro (mRNA), “facilmente adaptáveis” e não de vacinas de segunda geração, “que não estarão no mercado este ano”.

A EMA mantém ainda a recomendação da segunda dose de reforço, ou quarta dose, para as pessoas com mais de 80 anos ou com outras doenças associadas.

Globalmente, estão registados mais de 530 milhões de casos de covid-19 e 6,3 milhões de mortes associadas à doença, segundo dados da Universidade Johns Hopkins, nos EUA.

Studien laufen bereits Neuer Omikron-Impfstoff bis September erwartet 05.05.2022, 20:13 Uhr Bis spätestens Ende September soll der Omikron-Impfstoff auf den Markt kommen. Wie die europäische Arzneimittelbehörde verkündet, seien die erforderlichen Studien schon im Gange. Im Vordergrund stünde insbesondere die Anpassung bereits bestehender Impfstoffe von Moderna und Biontech. Impfstoffe gegen die hoch ansteckende Omikron-Variante des Coronavirus könnten nach Einschätzung der Europäischen Arzneimittelbehörde EMA spätestens Ende September eine Zulassung erhalten. Die größten Chancen bestünden dabei für entsprechend angepasste mRNA-Impfstoffe der Unternehmen Moderna und Biontech, sagte der EMA-Direktor für Impfstrategie Marco Cavaleri. Die erforderlichen klinischen Studien seien im Gange. Die EMA prüfe auch Präparate anderer Hersteller. Es sei aber "kein Geheimnis", dass die Anpassungen von mRNA-Impfstoffen von Moderna und Biontech an Omikron bereits recht weit fortgeschritten seien. Einzelheiten zu den bislang erhobenen Studiendaten nannte er nicht. Cavaleri appellierte zugleich an ungeimpfte Menschen, sich noch vor Herbst und Winter durch Impfungen vor Corona zu schützen. "Oberste Priorität muss die Schließung der Impflücke haben." Nur 50 Prozent der Europäer seien bislang vollständig geimpft und geboostert, während 15 Prozent der über 18-jährigen Einwohner Europas bislang noch keine einzige Impfung gegen Covid-19 erhalten hätten.
