I actually read a lot more Real Books this year than I have in a long time! And a Lot is, conveniently, Five.

LOST TOMB LOST TOMB LOST TOMB! I guess number one should be Gideon the Ninth, which most people shorthand as “Lesbian Necromancers in Space”, but is really more - Gothic Murder Mystery in a dystopian future with necromancers and also Everyone is Bisexual? And some super gross Enemies-to-Ride-Or-Die-Partners? It’s really, really great diverse cast, female written, and just generally A++

Harrow the Ninth , which is even more gross than the first book, with the added benefit of the female “Draco-in-Leather-Pants” getting to be really sassy and badass.

The Wee Free Men, which I then gifted to my Niece, because you’re never too young for Terry Pratchett (GNU)

The Ship who Sang, which I re-read to enable some great smutty AU

5 positive things that happened in 2020

My nefarious plans to get @jadedbirch to marry me finally came to fruition!

Despite getting blindsided with my first major depressive episode(TM) in the midst of early-COVID furlough, I still somehow managed to write 345,000 words in 2020, including three major epics. They’re all very self-serving smut, because apparently self care is writing your own dirty kinks. XD

Post-furlough, my job got magnitudes more rewarding, including a promotion and my first two really good portfolio pieces. Like, is this what being an adult is like?

I’ve played SO MUCH D&D this year, partially enabled by the pandemic pushing everything online, and it’s so fantastic?

Little art things! I’ve picked up some of my art-related hobbies from like, high school like watercolors, and while I’ll never really call myself an Artist(TM) it’s really creatively rewarding to be able to like, create. And kind of get back on my ABJD bullshit. And get a fantastic new tattoo. :3
