no but re the doctor basically being like i have to fuck the master again in last of the time lords. imagine how much of a betrayal that was to jack. like. jack literally was abandoned by the doctor for no reason and then waited almost 150 years to find the doctor again. and then he bails the doctor out when the master steals his tardis (vortex manipulator) and THEN gets strung up for a whole year by this fucking GUY. and then the doctor hugs him and says its ok. and promises to bring him with him. and when he gets shot says theyre the last 2 left and sobs harder into his body than anything. as if jack isnt standing RIGHT THERE BEHIND HIM. like. Why Martha Jones should have gotten the glowing telepathy moment instead of the Doctor in Last of the Time Lords:

A callback to Smith and Jones, what Martha says: "[I'll be a doctor] too, as soon as I've passed my exams. ... To me you've got to earn that title." She's earned the title in every way.

It didn't exist yet, but it would have been nice to compare to Moffat's run of the series and the idea he had - the Doctor is a choice you make, the things you do, not just a name.

Everything Martha says about the Doctor: "He has saved your lives so many times, and you never even knew he was there. He never stops. He never stays. He never asks to be thanked." It all applies to Martha, too.

She's the one walking the earth, trying to save the world. She's the doctor the people of earth know about. Doctor Martha Jones. What would some unknown, unseen saviour mean to them, when she's the one they've heard of, the one right there with them, comforting them in their time of need, telling them stories?

When the earth says "Doctor", they think of Martha Jones.
