Hiii! Fellow dark brown-haired transfem here, I need/want to know more about laser facial hair removal; how effective has it been for you? Wondering if laser will do or if I should insist on electro of some kind
Laser doesnt hurt as bad but electeolysis is more effective generally. Id say for the face though laser has been more than enough for me.

Hello loves it is once again time for me to raise money for my transition. Earlier this year we lasered the hair off my face and it gave me such peace and confidence I became incredible. New person. Now we're going for the rest of the body. Unfortunately this costs £1300 and in order to catch the deal and not have to pay more I need to raise it really fast. Of course, the more I transition the less dysphoria I feel, dysphoria which controlled so much of my life so miserably, to be replaced with genuine euphoria is unlike anything ever experienced before in my life. This is a much needed relief from a lifetime of misery. Please share even if you can't donate. Sharing gets to a lot of potential donations, so please donate, but especially please share https://www.gofundme.com/f/rosie-transition-fund-laser-hair-removal-body

What do you recommend for hair removal? Do you know any tips or tricks for getting longer term full Body (everywhere) and upper lip & face hair removal with no pain?
In terms of hair removal methods, I recommend the following:
Sugaring: Full body and upper lip
Dermaplaning: Face and upper lip
Laser Hair Removal: Any hair removal you have the budget, time, and pain threshold to afford
Tips For Less Painful Hair Removal:
Use a topical lidocaine numbing cream (I recommend Zensa Numbing Cream, which is made to use on sensitive areas like the bikini line or lips). I especially recommend using a numbing cream for laser hair removal!
In lieu of a topical lidocaine numbing cream, I would take an Advil or another ibuprofen medication as instructed before your hair removal treatment
Avoid alcohol 24-48 hours before your treatment (caffeine too, if possible), and drink plenty of water within 24 hours of your hair removal appointment
Exfoliate and moisturize your skin before & after your hair removal treatment. Don't exfoliate too soon after a hair removal appointment (how to irritate your skin 101)
Apply an ice pack or cold compress immediately after hair removal
Use aloe vera or coconut oil after a hair removal treatment to soothe the skin and reduce irritation or bumps
Avoid sun exposure before and after a hair removal treatment (timeframes depend on the type of treatment)
Don't wear tight clothes, go swimming, take hot baths, or engage in any sweaty activity immediately after a hair removal treatment
Avoid using any skincare products (or haircare you removed hair on your face) containing fragrance/perfumes on your skin for at least a few days after treatment
Don't use makeup or spray tan on your skin after hair removal
Never go to a hair removal appointment hungry, stressed, when experiencing PMS or while on your period – all of these bodily states can lower your pain tolerance and make the treatment feel worse than it otherwise would

Ok ok I thought I’ll share since I’m quitting my job, but some of you guys know that I’m a nurse and I work at a clinic !
I work at a dermatology clinic and we do laser hair removal. If you guys have been thinking about doing it, like if you hate shaving and waxing, or your skin is vv sensitive and you’re prone to razor bumps or you just have super thick hair or you have PCOS, literally do laser hair removal.
I’ll make your life so much easier since you will practically have no hair, or your hair will be vvv thin that you can’t even feel or even see your hair.
Obviously laser hair removal sounds hella scary and could be painful, but with the right machine it won’t be, and like at most clinics, numbing cream can be provided, or an ice pack, both will help numb the skin so you don’t feel the heat from the laser.
Definitely do your research on the place and the type of laser machine the clinic has. Laser hair removal is safe for all skin types and skin tones, don’t let anyone tell you it’s not safe for darker skin types. I would def ask if the laser is a dual YAG laser, that is one of the safest and effective laser hair removal machines.
So go do laser hair removal, you’ll thank me later 💖
A psa from your very own Cosmetic Registered Nurse ! 👩🏾‍⚕️💖💖

The first time one of my trans friends mentioned laser hair removal, I imagined like a cyberpunk barbershop and was like hell the fuck yeah, they're gonna give you a new 'do with a fuckin BEAM?

Thanks to a post that floated by me today, I now want to throw out a question here to see if I can get some useful info. That question is, how effective can laser hair removal be if you're not on HRT yet and have no expectation of getting on that soon? Will it stick? Because googling gets me pages saying that its effect on hair growth will wear off after a few years.

to expand on the laser question, if someone gets lucky and only has a little hair, do u know if they'd still have to laser the whole face?
Well it depends on how dark your hair is (the darker the better) but generally yeah it would. You'd still need to go back for touch ups occasionally but you'd get to the clean look sooner
