After finishing the Blight expedition and going back to my current main play save, I decided I it was time to move on from Euclid. Went with the “dead” galaxy option, so I’ve been transported to the Budullangr galaxy. Created a small first planetfall base near where I landed, then decided I wanted to create a bigger base somewhere to place local copies of things like all the exocraft bases and employee workstations. There was only one planet in the system that had water, and I lucked out in it having a very mild climate and being reasonably pretty for a bleak ecosystem. Hunted down one of the eternal twilight areas, spotted a small floating rock mass above a largish lake there, and decided to build on it.
I’ve named the place Laputa Base (of course after the flying city in Castle In The Sky) and spent several hours last night and this evening working on it (yes, after cheating my save to have access to all the legacy building sets).
There’s been a lot of experimentation, and stripping out and rebuilding things using different sets. I still have a bunch of building to do, and then I’ll dress out the place. I’m kind of loving how iridescent the old metal building set looks when hit by eternal sunrise/sunset lighting. I’m more meh on the concrete set, in some places it works really well and in others I find it too plain (need to knock down and rebuild those two towers to either side of the courtyard again, for the third time - neither metal nor concrete looks quite right).
Probably going to substantially remodel the area at the front of the island (looking out over the larger area of the lake); it’s currently cluttered up with solar panels, batteries, and the starship landing pad, which is wasting what would otherwise be a nice view. Will probably move the landing pad further right and back, sharing the walkway that leads to the modular base part where the employee workstations are. There’s some walled in areas underneath the main building that I can section off part of as a basement utility room to stick things like the batteries and electrical line hider in, and then move the solar panels to less obvious areas. Then enlarge that small front patio and make it look more like an entertainment area with an outdoor bar, seating, potted plants, etc.

Dick Grayson
Enjoys watching movies with anyone really
Will enjoy watching Ghibli movies without a doubt
You introduce him to Castle in the Sky first to watch
He worries for Sheeta as she fell in the sky from the air ballon from her captures and pirates
Breathes in relief when her amulet helps her floats down and is found by Pazu
He is drawn to the world building of the story and relates to Pazu, in regards to his antics and willingness to protect Sheeta because she reminds him of you.
Is very curious about the lore of Laputa island after learning the story behind the mythical island and aetherium.
He finds the Dola’s pirate gang funny and is happy they are willing to help the two escape from Muska’s army.
Again he is amazed by the world building when he sees Laputa island and loves the detail of the robots.
Angry that Muska appears and how he abuses his powers and knowledge to hurt people
Is happy that Sheeta understands why the people of Laputa fled from the island and she and Pazu uses the amulet’s power to finish Muska once and for all
If you continue watching more ghibli movies, he will most likely buy a big Totoro plush for both of you to cuddle on
Would sing the Ponyo song to annoy his family and friends and to sing in the shower

He notices how Chihiro has changed a lot from the beginning and how it reminds him of himself
He was cheering for Chihiro doing the scene when she was helping the river spirit get clean but wondered what that rice herb cake was for.
He cries at the scene when Haku comforts Chihiro when she was crying and eating onigiri because he knows she being through so much at her age just to save her loved ones
(Btw you made onigiri and bought konpeito)
Shock when Haku has a dragon form and was injured but was relieved when he managed to get healed due to the medicine she gotten from the river spirit
When he sees the bath workers blaming Sen for No-Face’s rampage, he grumbled how it was their fault for indulging and encouraging bad behavior, since he feels ‘No-Face’ is a blank state.
He admits Boh the baby is annoying but doesn’t blame him for being spoiled since his mom is at fault and enjoys that Haku had enough of Yubaba.
Feels at peace in the train scene

His favorite character is Howl from Howl's Moving Castle
He loves how all the characters in the movie are alive and likes the fire spirit
He enjoys how magical the scene was when Howl was flying in the sky with Sophie
He enjoys the banter between Sophie and Howl over hair products that cause his hair to change color
He loves Sophie’s new outfit at the end of the movie
Bought a necklace based off of Howl’s necklace and one time tried to cosplay as him to attend a con with him without his brothers knowing
His likes how steampunk is portrayed in the ghibli movies and enjoys learning more about Japanese culture and mythology
Would likely to go to ghibli events with you
Damian Wayne
after first thought it was going to be boring since he thinks it’s childish but immediately hooked up when he saw the animation of the movies
He decides to watch most of the movies with you when he is in house arrest from patrol
He likes Princess Mononoke movie and My Neighbor Totoro
He enjoys how San is a no-nonsense person and acknowledges she should fight back to defend her home
He somewhat wonders if Poison Ivy is like this because she just wants to defend the environment since San wants to protect the forest, seeing that she is angry at those who is destroying the environment
He secretly likes to watch My Neighbor Totoro and Ponyo with you and his family
He loves the animals in the Ghibli movies
Wishes to ride Moro and wants a pet wolf along with a fish name Ponyo
Ponyo movie inspires him to clean up local beaches
He would want to ride the Catbus from Totoro
Buys ghibli plushies for his collection
He starts to paint background from the movies due to how beautiful they were
He would visit Japan to see the places that set the inspiration for the movie and the Ghibli cafe theme events

If nobody's done it, what about Robot from "Laputa: Castle in the Sky" as a robot body?
The Robot Body Scale ranges from 1 to 10 and reflects how happy I, Zoey Gauntletqueen, would be for a robot body to be my body. 5 is the base, being the same as my current human body. It does not reflect my opinion on the design as a whole.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These robots have a wonderful all-function no-form design. Their odd face, clearly a configuration of cameras put together to maximize effectiveness rather than looks, shows this off well, as does the low level of detail on the rest of the body and their overal awkward shape. While I do appreciate these elements, I do personally prefer a more stylish body. Their triangular shape is also not for me, but it's not that bad that I couldn't make it work. The tall is good!
Ability-wise, these robots are incredibly resilient. They can withstand countless explosions and the weathering of time. Exploding lasers and the ability to deploy a membrane from their arms to fly with are very useful powers.

So a little while ago I did this background thingy of my interpretation of Hakugyokurou in Touhou 7, then left it at the sketch and forgot about it for a while. Then after changing up my art style a lot, I came back to this and decided to finish it as a way of testing out how my new style would look on backgrounds. Then when I finished it, I also didn't look at it for a while, until today where I decided that I liked it and wanted to post it.
Artist's Notes:
IDK how much this actually looks like Hakugyokurou tbh, but I liked the idea of there being a fuck ton of trees that just kinda grow on the stairs and Yuyuko's garden being on an island of some kind, though tbh as I write this now, this same feeling could be accomplished with just having the stairs be on top of a hill with the trees soooo... oops. IDK how mythologically/lore accurate that would be, but hey, just a cool idea I had. I feel like we need more fan interpretations of certain Touhou locations because I think those could be really fucking cool, like, I should do more of these myself because I have a fuck ton of ideas (plus I need the practice with drawing backgrounds so win-win).
Even if this... doesn't really look like Hakugyokurou in Touhou canon, this was still good practice for perspective, as well as getting better at drawing backgrounds/environment pieces (plus what annoys me is that I wanted to make the tori gate red but had to make it pink because the red was too much for the colour scheme and I should have adjusted the rest of the colours but I don't feel like going back and fucking with this piece now because I feel like I am going to end up like Sisyphus pushing a boulder up a hill with this drawing).
I think the reason we don't see those as often is because there's a lot more consistency with the location designs in Touhou than the character designs. Like, in the mainline games themselves, Marisa's outfit changes every fucking game, and small details in how characters outfits are drawn also lend themselves to that looser character design base. As long as you keep the core design philosophies of the character (i.e. Reimu keeping her loose, baggy clothes, Yukari with her hat and ribbons, Keiki with her headkerchief (I FINALLY LEARNED WHAT IT WAS FUCKING CALLED WOOHOOO!!!! I COULD HAVE JUST LOOKED IT UP ON THE WIKI THIS WHOLE TIME YAAAAAY), and many more examples) you're basically good. However, the actual locations in Touhou have been so set in stone with all the printed works that I think it's a shame we don't see any more variations of how they could look.
I'm not saying to completely ditch how each location is portrayed in games (also don't take this whole thing as me completely dissing the canon looks of the locations) but, treating the locations like character designs in and of themselves. Like, take Sakuya's canon design and her Touhouvania design. Both of them are very different takes on the same design idea. Yet you still recognize Touhouvania Sakuya as... well, Sakuya. And also, keeping the same mythological/historical/irl inspirations for said locations (again, don't know if having a floating island in the Japanese netherworld is accurate but it was a cool idea)
Some other location ideas I have include:
The SDM looking relatively normal from the outside but when you go inside it looks like a fucking gothic cathedral/castle because Sakuya keeps fucking with the space time continuum and there is also an organ the size of a fucking house in there that Sakuya dramatically plays. Also having it be surrounded by trees and having some mountains surrounding the misty lake would be cool as well.
Keiki's base in the animal spirit garden being reminiscent of the ancient technology in Laputa, some of the zonai technology in ToTK and some of the Lanayru desert buildings in Skyward Sword (i.e. Lanayru Mine, the shipyard, etc), as well as a lot of the other ancient technologically advanced sky people ruins seen in some other Zelda games, but with the clear Kofun era theming she already has.
Old Hell having a mix of western influences with it's prodominantly Japanese ones, mainly inspired by how the Palace of Earth spirits looks significantly more western than the rest of Old Hell (though that could be because it was more recently built idk), as well as there being emblems from the time that Old Hell was actually Hell being strewn about in the ruins of old hell, also being inspired by a Japanese historical anecdote about how certain families had specific crests/emblems representing them and how when a new clan would take over everything would be replaced with that families' emblem although my memory is a bit foggy (since I saw it a while ago) and I got info from a Youtube short so take this info with a huge grain of salt (and it anyone actually knows if this info is legit or not, please correct me if I get anything wrong).
Overall, don't think this looks too much like Hakugyokurou, but I am glad I drew this anyway because I needed the practice with drawing backgrounds.

Highlights of today’s Eclipse Roadtrip:
Sign about a dozen miles outside of Madison, WI, informing me that it was only 500-odd miles to the nearest Buc-ees
Sign advertising Historic Downtown Oregon (apparently a small town in Illinois as well as an entire US state)
So many waterfalls at Starved Rock State Park. Seriously, if you’re ever in the area in the spring, go. Just be ready for lots and lots of stairs, and wear sturdy shoes that you won’t mind getting muddy.
My playlist hitting “Destruction of Laputa” from the “Castle In the Sky”soundtrack right as I was driving by a field full of enormous wind turbines, their wing-like blades seeming to whirl in time with the music, casting eerie shadows over the highway in the twilight.
A gal whistling repeatedly to a guy in her group who was lagging behind in their hike, inadvertently making a nearby dog go crazy
Police blocking off one lane of the interstate, with a sedan with its front completely smashed in, sitting in the ditch, facing traffic. Followed by, about a half mile later, police blocking off a lane again, this time with a giant flatbed tow truck holding what I can only assume, based on size, was a semi truck before it burned to a charred wreck. Hope everyone escaped with only minor injuries at worst.

Bandai 1:20 Nausicaa Mowe Glider plastic model build photoset July 31st, 2022
The now-defunct model company Tsukuda released a series of Nausicaa plastic model kits in the ‘80s. About 10 years ago, Bandai retooled these kits as well as Tsukuda’s Flaptor from Laputa. The Tsukuda kits were alright, but the sculpt of the figures’ faces was not very flattering for the characters. The faces have been resculpted and eye decals have been provided.
These are not fully snap kits, and glue and painting will be required. The only Tsukuda kit I have owned was the Ohmu (the large insect) kit, and that kit’s fit was retooled to provide a better framework for a parts fit.
While constructing the Nausicaa figure, I learned an important lesson on assembling her while riding the glider because I did not do that. I just glued her together as I saw fit, and when placed on the glider, her left arm was raised too high. I had to break her arm off to reattach it, requiring putty and repainting.
I painted Nausicaa with a combination of Mr. Hobby Aqueous and Delta Ceramcoat hobby acrylics. I did a lot of post shading in the folds of her clothing and painted highlights on the raised parts. This was a technique I’ve never done before and I like the result. The eye decals ensure that the figure looks great. The figure parts are sculpted in that soft plastic that Bandai often uses for figures, so I would not recommend using any enamel washes on her because this plastic has been known to disintegrate when strong solvents such as turpentine and enamel thinner are used.
The glider’s flaps are poseable and there is a removable hatch on top to expose the engine.
Tumblr media
The engine is lighted with a 5mm flickering blue LED. I just did not use the central piece of the engine and instead replaced it with the LED. It was a perfect fit. In the movie, the intake glows as well, and you can sort of see this from the front due to the engine light. The LED is powered by a single CR2032 battery. I have a battery case for that which I modified with a strong, tiny magnet from HiQ Parts. This way, it grabs a hold of the base due to a corresponding magnet I affixed to its underside.
Tumblr media
I used a light blue Posca marker to do the raised lettering on the stand, applying it with a fine-tipped brush.

Laputa is a flying island described in the 1726 book Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift. It is about 7 kilometres in diameter, with an adamantine base, which its inhabitants can manoeuvre in any direction using magnetic levitation. The island is the home of the king of Balnibarbi and his court, and is used by the king to enforce his rule over the lands below.
Castle in the Sky has had a strong impact on Japanese popular culture, with the "Laputa Effect" comparable to "a modern day monomyth for Japanese genre films and media." It was instrumental in the steampunk genre.

Some more progress shots of my Laputa Base. Moved the starship landing pad off to the side, rebuilt the courtyard to project further forward to either side of the stairs, and rebuilt one of the towers in stone. Made a utility area under (and beside) one of the arms of the courtyard, with batteries and power line hider tucked out of sight inside the arm, and a bunch of solar panels just outside. Then decided to have Fun With Light Cubes and made a “LAPUTA” sign adjacent to the stairs down. Because why not.
Decided that rather than having a similar tower on the opposite side of the courtyard, I’d lean into the asymmetry and build out that corner a little further, then build a small bar there instead (the wood structure visible in the second screenshot). Also continued the planted area on the other side of the back patio, and added a wooden deck on that side.
Still have a big chunk of unused land on that side, plus a smaller chunk on the opposite side between the bar and the landing pad, that I can build more stuff on if and when I decide what other stuff this base needs.

I've been meaning to finally watch all ghibli movies. And o want to get trough them all by end of August. I've seen bits and pieces of some of them, have watched many a video essayist talk about them.
I'm going to talk about each of them as i watch them, mostly all in chronological order.
But first i'll quickly say something about the ones i *have* seen. In more or less the order i've seen them.
First one i ever saw was 'laputa: castle in the sky'. I saw this one years ago so i don't have many specific things to say. But it's absolutely wondeful. And the action is fenominal
Then i saw either 'Kiki's delivery service' and 'Howl's moving castle' i don't remember the precise order. But i saw both either this or last year. Both once again beatiful stories. I empathised with Kiki so much and it's such a nuanced yet heartfelt coming of age story. Howl's moving castle however might so far be my favourite. It's such a unique take on a beauty and the beast type story and the magic and the world keep me endlessy interested. Also the main theme (Merry go round of life) slaps and every few weeks it starts playing on loop in my brain.
Then i also watched 'Lupin the third: castle of cagliostro' which, yes, i do count.
I'll once again be frank and admit that i don't remember if i watched it before or inbetween or even after the last 2 but whatever, time-blindness is a bitch.
Anyway it's amazing probably the Best Lupin III content out there and it's so influential on animation as a whole. Even if you know nothing about Lupin the third it's fully enjoyable. I'm very angry Netflix doesn't have it anymore because i really wanted to rewatch it (don't worry i did pirate it but i kinda didn't want to because i want to puch Netflix's algorythm towards animation as much as possible. But that's neither here nor there.)
A couple of months ago i saw 'nausicaa of the valley of the wind' which is underappreciated in my opinion. It's based on Miyazaki's own manga. It's a truly epic story with an important message about environmentalism that's as relevas It's ever been. The main character, Naussica is so cool (and I'm fully planning a dnd character greatly based on her). The alien environments and inhabitants of the fungal forests are breathtaking. Nuff´ said.
Then finally, this friday i watched 'My neighbor Totoro' and what can i say that hasn't already been said? A beatiful view in the life of young girls going trough a rough time in their lives juxtaposed with the innocence and beaty of childhood mixed with Japanse mythology. Let's just say Totoro is ghibli's flagship mascot for a reason.
This movie hit particularly close to home because of my job of working with kids their age. And the fear, confusion and even despair the youngest feels about their situation that they're just too young to properly grasp just kept rending my heart in two. Not to mention the older sister who has to be the responsible one and has to keep herself together despite that it's clear how hard it is on her as well. The characters in this film are real in a way that only Miyazaki has mastered portraying.
(Fun fact: the person who voiced the father is 'Shigesato Itoi' who is also the creator of the 'Mother' video game series.)
Finally, finally, to switch things up; today I watched 'a silent voice' i'll probably elaborate more in the future on a different post. But needless to say it's exactly as good as people say it is, maybe even better.
It was a touch longer than i thought it would be but it wasn't really a problem. It's a super interesting story with a nuanced take on redemption, attonement and friendship. Rended in a way that only animation can truly accomplish.
Up next: I'll go in proper release order from now on so next thing is 'only yesterday'. A more slice of life film and one i might even be to young to fully appreciate seeing i'm only just in my mid 20s and the main character is in her early thirties i think. But i've heard nothing but good things about it so i'm sure i'll be fine.
And concidering that i'm sick and won't go into work tomorrow I'll most likely watch it then

hello hello~
I came to you again with a minute of theories abot the trailer.
At the begining, achtung! these are just mine assumptions that based on what I saw and read on the Internet, as well as what I myself noticed in clips and various skiz content.
And one more time the reminder: there are mistakes in text since English is not my native, im sorry
So, for the last time, I assumed to discard a bunch of references to all sorts of Skz videos and assign an album to each member. This time I will try to reveal my thoughts about what happens in the scenes with the guys.
To be honest, I don’t have thoughts and answers about everyone, but I’ll tell you what I guessed .D
🌟Firstly, I want to note that it seems to me that, in addition to references to albums, references to some films are hidden inside the scenes.
Tumblr media
🍞 About Innie, I have no thoughts at all. Okay, there are a few, but they are so incoherent and uninformative that I don’t even want to talk about them ... (to be honest, this character inside the lore of skz literally drives me crazy, I have too many questions and almost no answers ... )
Tumblr media
🐰🐷 I don’t know what with Changbin either, the only thing is that we see how he is such a cute cutie trying to call someone, after a failure he gets mad and starts to destroy everything. I have a feeling that somewhere I saw something like that, I just can’t remember where, I can’t :c
Tumblr media
🦦 Hyunjin, as mentioned in previous post, is similar in his scene and setting to Kingsman, I honestly didn’t watch this movie, but asked around, and no one could give me answers about what was happening could mean. However, referring directly to this "happening"... at first I thought that Hyunjin crossed out the star (yes, it seemed to me that it was a star, not a flower on the jacket, bc there are five ends, as it seemed to me then), and there are 5 stars now. Then I read here and there, and someone wrote that this is the Innie's birth's flower ... perhaps it is (I'm not strong in this), and Jinnie seems to finish painting the 5th petal for him (here I already considered that there are 4 petals and 1 pistil xd). After he says these numbers: 644. Everyone has already written that this is an angel number and so on. In addition, I saw a bunch of "analyzes" of the number, what it is about money, that those you support will start sitting on your neck, etc. I don’t know how much we can believe this... although about “concentration on one’s feelings” or something that was in those theories, it may be similar. Hyunjin is quite sensual, yes... ahem, but in general, what can be interesting is 644: 6+4+4=14 1+4=5, we have 5 stars here, after all. And one more thing I thought about. Do you remember that I consider Hyunjin to be the "personification" of the maxident? And the title is case 143, 143=I love you. Communication with numbers. What if some words are hidden here too? Flower - 6 letters, stay/star/five - 4 letters. flower five star? Maybe you can find some other words?.D
Upd: i don't know why we didn't do it earlier BUT! With help of my friend we found out sthat if u will count with this "644" numbers letters in the korean alphabet u will get "별", which means 'star'~
Tumblr media
🐿 Han... ohh well, it's time for completely crazy theories uhhhh. What do we see in the picture? Some kind of train-plane flying in the clouds. I thought of Laputa Castle in the Sky. After all, Han loves Howl, loves anime, Laputa is also from studio gibli. In the sound, in Han's last part, he mentions "Laputa". The plot of the anime was that there was this floating island with untold riches. But in order to get there, a special stone was needed, its keeper was main character, and the pirates tried to steal it. In the trailer, the guys introduce themselves as they play in the i'm ground. And Han says "isn't that right? Then I won't do it" maybe this train is his idea that Jisung himself is a guide to the world of clouds, no "pirates" (or haters) will get there without a stone, but he is capable to achieve all this on his own? (Therefore, it is important that All in is a Japanese comeback, a reference, presumably, to a Japanese anime, well, Han's love for him x))
Tumblr media
🐶 I don't know what to say about Seungmin... I can't even imagine what kind of movie it could be... however, it is some kind of point in favor of the theory about films in general. He sits in a bucket full of POPCORN (First Felix said he ate candy, then Seungmin said he ate popcorn while filming... hard life for idols xddd). And he shows us a ticket to the cinema (sort of, if I read it right). Many assumed that these was the same tickets that were in the trailers and clips of past eras, but I do not think so. There were "one-way tickets to the new world", here is another ticket. They refused those tickets because they turned out to be a trap, and skz went their own way.
Tumblr media
🐣 I mentioned Felix - Joker... just Joker ahah, ready to read your thoughts~
Tumblr media
🐺 Bang Chan... uh, here my theory of connection with the Japanese album sounds dubious and far-fetched. At first, it seemed to me that Chan resembled Sub-Zero (I know that I am not the only one). I'm not strong in the lore of mortal kombat, so I went to read internet. Both Sub-Zero (this is a kind of title, not a name), being brothers, were born in the USA and were taken to China, belong to a Chinese organization. However, the developers said that the character was originally supposed to be named Ninja, and the whole story should be based on some book about how China influences Japanese ninjas. So there's a rather subtle connection to Japan... well, like Han, Chan loves anime in one way or another. But I also saw a theory about the similarity of Chan's vibe with the character of lol - Jhin, there are similar scenes in the video: playing the piano, concert hall, lighting... I also read his story, but there is also China (and the setting is more fantasy), not Japan... I also really liked the last lines of this character's bio, they are very suitable for the mood and meaning of the trailer: "It seems that all of Runeterra might be but a canvas for the atrocity that is Khada Jhin’s art, and only he knows where the next brushstroke will fall."
But still, my theory was movie references, according to MK there is a movie, but according to lol - no. Perhaps everything presented here is how Chan sees himself? Since the game is about introducing themselves, perhaps they themselves have described which films/animes/games they would like to be like or associated with? Therefore, it turned out to be a little chaos? (also Chan commented, that mask is just his own suggestion) So, there are a lot of thoughts, but the answers are not so... ahah xddd
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
🐰 And finally Minho. The first thing I thought of was Saw, but it's kind of too much for a k-pop band, I guess? I am not sure. It also reminds me a little of Parasite, this scene in the toilet ... here I would also love to read your thoughts .D
This time it's all I could guess, thank you for your attention~
Also i have the 3d part which is more connected to the lore story of skz. I will post it soon ~

lars- does anybody happen to have a minecraft resource pack that changes the golems names or something bc it feels super weird. but i use mizuno's 16x craft so i wont be able to use stuff like Antisemitism Begone since. that changes the textures of the villagers and golems, which are already changed in Mizuno's (the villagers are animal-people and the iron golem is based on the actual robot from Laputa: Castle in The Sky, but i just want the names of the iron/snow golems changed. is there a resource pack for JUST that?
