I’ve noticed an influx of newcomers to the LITA fandom of late and firstly - welcome! I never did do a wrap-up review when the series ended (probably neck deep in hysteria then) so I figured why not write one now. I will keep this brief, as I have a tendency to get carried away with my analysis on this show. You can peruse my index of deep dives for more if you wish. I will largely be referencing the Love Sky portion of this series because... well, my blog says it all really.
LITA is a story of two halves; the first 1-7 episodes focus on Rain's arc, whilst the proceeding 8-13 episodes focus on Sky's. Most BLs tend to have an interlacing structure that weaves multiple couples simultaneously. But LITA has done this to allow for chronological story-telling and doubles up well as a framing device. Rain's arc is more 'slice of life', humorous and light-hearted overall. Whereas Sky's arc is weighty and pensive, involving more serious themes, highs and lows. There is a distinct tonal shift between these two halves that feel like different movements within the same symphony.
As an adaptation of MAME's original novels, 6-7 episodes is a tight window to do each couple justice. This just about works for Rain’s arc over Sky’s, the latter of which definitely needed more run time, and feels awfully rushed at its crucial conclusion. Otherwise the narrative and romantic development progresses at a pretty steady pace.
Difficult topics around trauma and abuse are approached with sensitivity whilst still packing a gut punch. Thankfully this isn’t used as a gimmick but serves as an integral thread in Sky’s characterisation, and is consistently signposted throughout. What I really appreciate is how both couples overcome obstacles in a healthy way and learn to communicate. Our characters are able to learn and grow from conflict, and ultimately move forward in a positive direction.
Main Leads: Why this pairing really works for me is that I enjoy them as individual characters as well as together. A couple is only as strong as the sum of its parts - and for me to buy into a partnership, I need to be firstly convinced that these two people exist outside of just their relationship. Prapai and Sky are well balanced in that respect as they have clearly established identities of their own. This pair also had the added advantage of being introduced in Rain’s arc which really helped lay some ground work. Sky is a character most will easily love; perceptive, reliable and devoted, his insecurities are hugely relatable to anyone who has struggled with self worth. Whereas Prapai may divide audiences at first with his seemingly misplaced charm and (dorky) rich playboy aura, where a multitude of hidden depths are later revealed. You’ll come to adore this man in a similar fashion to how Sky is won over, seeing beyond his flirty teasing to the caring, patient and loving man underneath.
Pairing Rating: [SWEET + SENSUAL] This pair deliver on both soft comfort/domesticity as well as highly-charged intensity, a combination that will make your heart ache and break.
Other: This series very much centres its efforts around the leads. Relationship dynamics outside of our main couples tend to be overlooked and are increasingly forfeited towards the end (most namely Sky and Rain’s friendship which had a great kick-off in Rain’s half but was almost non-existent in Sky’s), likely due to time constraints.
Acting Performance: Relative newcomers Fort and Peat do a stellar job of making their characters feel fully realised and believable in such a short span of episodes. Both actors share uncanny similarities with the roles they are playing, which must have helped and is proof of great casting. I’m also hugely impressed that they were able to work against the reverse age dynamic they share in real life (Peat is 26, Fort is 22). Due to the heavier undertones in Sky’s storyline, this script really allows both actors to showcase a wider range of their acting abilities. Fort is a revelation, providing a very grounded and surprisingly mature performance. Peat does a wonderfully committed job of throwing himself into such a challenging role with enormous vulnerability. I give props to any actor who is willing to ugly cry and I mean ugly cry.
Visuals: Arguably one of the strongest characteristics of the show is it’s pleasing aesthetic that feels bright, clean, and really rather beautiful in certain scenes, particularly when it comes to the use of lighting, colour and camera angles. It’s very easy on the eye and elevates the charm of the everyday as its setting. Imagery is also utilised well when portraying Sky’s trauma.
Sound: The common gripe with LITA is the inconsistent quality of audio. Oh my, the audio. In some places the sound is insanely crisp and loud (think ASMR levels of breathing and shirts crinkling), and yet in others, dialogue is tenuous due to music, ambience or just dodgy recording in the first place.

FINAL THOUGHTS: It’s the couples that will lure in your heart and hold it captive. Despite the fairly simple trajectory of the storyline, the series is engaging with decent rewatch value. It would have benefited from a longer run. My blog is testament to how much I adore them - having written over a dozen metas on their relationship alone (but hey, I may be slightly biased). I wildly underestimated what this show was going to deliver when the trailer first came out, and my expectations were largely surpassed on all fronts.
(Disclaimer: These are just my own opinions. It goes without saying that one still can enjoy a show for all its successes as well as recognising its shortcomings.)

love in the air ep 9 messy review
we have arrived at episode 9 of love n the air. Let's dive deeper in Sky & Prapai's lovestory.
We start of with Pai dressing himself and admiring himself, lol why am I not surprised that his siblings are an exact copy of him. I love this though! I love the bond between the siblings. Also Pai's confidence is out of this world but to me it's funny!.
Sky in his boxers and sleep shirt, i love that he doesn't care about changing before going out. He seems so carefree when he does this, sadly for him he runs into Pai, who doesn't mind this as well, which I love because that means he takes him the way he is. The way he tries to walk away from him but he should know by now that this will not work at all. I love how Pai teases him about the flowers, knowing fully well he bribed P' Joy.
I LOVE SKY'S EXPRESSIONS!!
okay this flashback of Sky scared me, the way the entire mood changed. Like I was immediately aware something was wrong and my heart just felt uneasy. The way Pai snapped him out of it and the way you could tell Sky was not okay at all.
The way Sky is trying to keep Pai outside of that huge wall, it's kind of funny but sad as well. The way he puts himself down, sigh my poor Sky, that why I love Pai because he likes him because of him, he doesn't care how he looks like. ALSO WHAT NIPPLE PIERCING?! Now he probably got them when he was with his ex so I will not say a thing about it but hello! I love how Pai gets under his skin and dumps all this information on him. The Way Sky pretends not to listen but we all know he will remember everything he tells him.
Sigh my dear Sky, he is persuing you out of curiosity, because he thinks you are cute, also you rocked his world and the way you are rejecting him is definitely something he is not used to but most of all he just likes you because of you!. he doesn't want a sex buddy or FWB, he wants a real relationship. Lol credits to Sky though he does seem to know Pai because before all this Pai was a real player, so fair enough.
Pai and his curiosity. Rain won’t be able to help you in any way though.
I hate how tired he looks, he must be suffering a lot and I don't like that at all. Then you have this super cute best friend who tries to put in a good word for Pai and accidently mentions your ex, which unlocks more damage then anything. I feel bad for Rain though because how could he know about his Ex if he never said a thing, not that it's Rain's business but it's not okay to go off to him about it, if you never said a thing.
Okay I know it's super serious but the way Rain goes back to his own drawing desk, made me giggle, this boy is too cute for his own good.
I love Pai but he needs to calm down. He is pushing too much, Sky will have a meltdown. My poor Sky and I do get him.
Ugh I hate this so much, I want to protect him at all costs against these nightmares. The way he has to keep telling himself that everything is okay. My heart is literally breaking for him. The thing is he likes it but doesn't allow himself because he thinks he is not worth the attention. Is this really how Sky spends his nights, not sleeping but working on his projects, just to avoid nightmares, gosh..
Lol this moment with Rain who is in shock that Sky's ex is a guy. The way he taps Payu's thigh and Payu is just looking at him with adoring eyes. I still want what they have, darn it!!! Pai is worried and I love that because it means he actually does care and doesn't see him as just another guy.
Sky is not okay, he is not sleeping! The way Sky pretends to be okay in front of his friends, also can I say I love that black sleeveless shirt on him!! This friends group, I love it so much! The way they all crash at Sky's place, just sad to see that he isn't sleeping at all. Please don't ignore your heart, not all guy's are bad.
P' Som scolding them is totally uncalled for and not cool and they way Sky looks, ugh can we wrap him in bubblewrap? I love how Sig tries to make things okay. This friend group does really care about each other. hate that he needs to keep telling himself everything is okay.
These nightmares, my heart is really crying for him. I really really wish I could make things better for him. Pai please I know you mean well but it's too much for Sky...... I am literally crying for him, please someone just help him. (The thing is Pai really means well, so I can't be mad at him but he really shouldn't push so much.)
P' Som really acts like that because Rain snatched away Payu! How childish. The way they all changed as soon as they saw Sky looking sick. Someone get him home. He must be literally exhausted. Pai really really cares about Sky and that's what I love to see. I want him to take care of Sky but also I hope he doesn't push him too much.
Finally Rain is protective about Sky. He literally makes Pai promise he won't do anything before he even gives the room key.
Poor Sky is all shivering. He must be stuck inside that nightmare, sigh, the way he grabs Pai and begs him not to go. I mean he doesn't even know it's Pai but the way he holds him tells me he makes him feel safe in some way. Lol he thinks Pai is his dad, this is kind of sweet though. I can't say this enough but the way Pai takes care of Sky, without misbehaving even though he had a moment he wanted to but thank you Rain for making him promise he wouldn't do anything.
Now I am super curious to next week because I believe we are going to see Sky warm up to Pai a bit but for now I am satisfied that we see Pai changing from player to a caring bf(even though he isn't yet)
I do want to praise Peat for the way he portrays Sky, I think he is doing it brilliantly.!!

You know what I love about the LITA fandom?
So much of us can relate to Sky. So much of us come from a place of (heavy) trauma, and just wish to be loved.
The show is giving us it all.
The trauma - The way it influences every breathing second. The struggle of coming to trust a person again, and how it can shatter our whole being if the trauma surfaces (bc of a misunderstanding. But srsly. Isn't that what life is? A series of misunderstandings until one talks about it?)
The love - The one thing we just want. Being loved for who we truly are. Not someone who corrects our every move and word until we are what they want us to be. But someone who really wants to know what is going on, and staying an (consistent) pole we can turn to. Just like Prapai is for Sky. Without pressure, and without judgement.
I love the show for this.
And I love the fandom for the quirks we all have and can all talk about (relate to) while none of us judges the other badly for it.

#wanda nevada was so much fun !!!! reviewers online don't know what it's like to see it from a young woman's perspective#out of all the characters - peter doesn't take advantage of her and gives the girl her space#they're characters were both orphans and the age of 9 kept coming up. very similar to his real life event of losing his mother as a boy#far better than any l*lita or stoker#he also liberated the girl from the constraints of religion and fonda's own views does play a part in this

Let’s talk about how Pai, instead of getting angry at Sky for pushing himself hard while still being sick, made sure that he was comfortable, took his medicines, was still allowed to follow the Last Cheer ceremony from a safe distance and that what he considered important to him would be respected, as long as it didn’t meant him jeopardizing his health.

Love in the Air Ep. 3 - Wish I could afford that house
Full disclosure, this has never happened to me in school, but if it did I would immediately about-face into the closest bathroom stall and a full on emotional breakdown. Rain is braver than any US Marine. 8/10
The client calmly listened and accepted the changes to improve the project without argument. 3/10 almost never happens
(JK I just realized on my second watch that the other guy was also an architect. Also this house is easily like $5 million)
Sorry to ruin the ✨romantic fantasy✨ of the architect but where are the computers??? No one hand draws anything I literally sit on the computer all day and model. Where are your 3 wide screen monitors Payu?? 1/10 it’s the digital age my dude

Hey book-loving/librarian tumblr, help me out with some recommendations for my kid? Kid is 9yo, going into 4th grade, but can read at a higher reading level. She really enjoys graphic novels, especially the ones by Raina Telgemeier, the Babysitter's Club series, and Dog Man. She also loves the I Survived series, and has enjoyed Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
I'm trying to find something a little longer for her to read, to encourage her to make the jump from "book I can read in one sitting" to "book I can read over the course of a week." Thus far any book we've tried like that she decides is boring after she's read it for a little while, and will set it down to reread one of her other books.
So, the criteria basically are that it's a book that's long enough to take multiple sittings to read, and it's either funny or action-packed or both (she likes humor, natural disaster survival drama, mysteries, possibly ghost stories but only if scooby-doo levels of scary). It can be at a higher than 4th grade reading level, but the plot maturity level still should be appropriate for a 9yo. She still has trouble understanding some of the social drama in babysitter's club, so anything YA or targeted at teens is likely to be too mature for her (idk if libraries are uniform on this but I'm looking for something that would be in the J Fiction section in our local one).

TJDG Short Story
Warnings: doesn’t follow a storyline
Today was the day that Y/N had to be in a room with the judgement day. Y/N was doing a video with WWE for their YouTube channel and they wanted judgement day to be with her.
She was currently getting her hair and makeup done with her favourite artist. One of the creative team members was talking to Y/N about the video idea. She was going to be watching edits of herself with the judgement day.
“Hey guys,” Y/N says, sitting down on the couch. The creative team made her sit in the middle of the couch. It was her in the middle, Rhea to her left, Dom to her right, and Damian and Finn behind her.
“Hey,” Rhea says.
“Okay, so we are going to show you guys edits and you react to them,” a member says.
“That’s it?” Finn asks.
“Yup, you guys can start anytime,” the member replies.
Y/N looks around at the four around her and they all give her a nod. She takes a deep breath, trying not to laugh.
“Hello, WWE universe it is me, Y/N Copeland and I’m joined with,” she says, trailing off.
“Rhea Ripley,” the girl to her right ways.
“Finn Balor,” he says.
“Damian Priest,” Damian says, tapping Y/N on the head.
“And Dominik Mysterio,” he says.
“Today we all got invited by our creative team to review edits of myself, maybe even of them,” she says.
“Apparently, you guys really wanted this,” Dominik says.
“First edit,” the team member says.
The five of them watch the screen. It was an edit of Y/N to the sound “That’s my type”. She watches as the edit goes on, a blush starts to coat her face.
“Are you blushing?” Finn asks.
“I never watch edits of myself this is why,” she says.
“You get flustered,” Dominik says, poking at her cheeks.
“Okay, Dom,” Rhea says, reaching across Y/N to stop him.
“Sorry Mami,” he quickly says.
“Next edit,” the team member says.
It’s an edit of Y/N again to the sound “backstabber”. It started with Rhea speaking about turning Dom into a man. Then Dom walks out, and it shows Y/N’s face.
“That was a good edit,” Y/N says, as it ended.
“Why’s that?” Damian asks.
“It shows my genuine emotion. What I was feeling in the moment of betrayal,” she replies.
“Well said,” Rhea complimented.
“Thanks Mami,” the girl smiles.
“Next edit,”
It was an edit of Y/N to “Body Paint” by Arctic Monkeys. It’s clips of Y/N when she turned on heel. Y/N lets out a breath and smiles.
“I personally want to say that moment where you turned heel was probably one of your best moments,” Finn says.
“Not the time I slapped The Undertaker back in ‘08,” she says, turning to look at him.
“Okay, that was slightly better, but the heel turn is iconic,” he says.
“Thank you,” she says, turning away from him.
“Here’s the next one,” the team member says.
The next edit showed Y/N when she was younger, standing ringside with Lita, then Y/N as her new look. It was to the sound of “Romantic Homicide” by d4vd.
“I don’t entirely think with my character that Y/N back in the ruthless regression era is ‘dead’. I think if someone were to come back from the era, she would be in new Y/N deep down. Maybe the person could even get her out of her heel,” she says.
“Wait, I like heel Y/N,” Dominik says, “She can’t go.”
“You like her when she’s beating us up,” Damian says.
“Yeah,” he says.
“I’ll put that in my mind. To beat you up even more,” Y/N chuckles.
“Next,”
This was an edit of Rhea, Dominik and Y/N. It was to the sound ���Triple Threat x She Knows”.
“I wonder if people actually know we see edits that they make,” Y/N says.
“Probably,” Damian says.
“We are the triple threat,” Dominik says, putting an arm around Y/N. Placing his hand on Rhea’s shoulder.
“Get your arm off of me,” Y/N says, shaking it off.
“Who pissed in your coffee this morning?” Dominik asks.
As the next edit is played, Y/N shakes her head. The sound is ‘Heartbeat’ by Childish Gambino. It’s clips of Y/N and Dominik before his betrayal.
“People really love Dom and I before everything,” Y/N laughs.
“Well, he’s mami’s now,” Rhea says. Y/N rolls her eyes quickly. They were supposed to act somewhat in character.
“One more edit,” the person says.
The last edit was of Young Y/N and how she looks now that she’s grown up. The sound behind the edit was ‘where’d all the time go’ by Dr. Dog.
“Young Y/N is too cute,” Damian comments.
“What happened to that?” She asks.
“Anyway, they really like to edit younger you,” Rhea says.
“Well, I mean, I’ve basically been in this industry since I was 2 months old. Well, of course not wrestling, but being backstage and in my father’s storylines sometimes. They can get a lot of clips of younger me,” she says.
“Wrap it up,” the team member says.
“Okay guys, that was all for this video,” Damian says.
“How do you actually do this?” He asks.
“As you have heard, that was all for the video. We are WWE superstars. We are all on Monday night raw on USA at 8/7 central. Bye WWE universe,” Y/N says, waving.
