(sorry I know you don't like talking about MAWS too much, but) do you think the voice actors did a good job with what they were given? I wish so badly that they had better material to work with, especially as a fan of many of them (ps just placed the first hold for the currently-on-order-at-my-local-library Lunar Boy! Congrats on your hard work paying off as such an epic creation, I can't wait to read it! 🎉)

I don't mind talking about MAWS (in moderation hehe)! And also, thank you for ordering Lunar Boy at your local library!! YEAAH AWOOGA!! ahem.

I know the voice actors picked for MAWS are beloved by people (and I was excited for a fresh take), but none of them stuck out to me- which I found really disappointing since I adore the STAS cast so much. Some of the reads are straight up bad. I've unfortunately memorized the show from writing detailed metas about it and, in order to cope, my twin and I have many running jokes about some of the dialogue reads asdfasf. Some faves:

ep 8's "There was an ACCIDENT and Superman CAUSED IT!" a background character says this line and it's the funniest thing in the world to me

I think Alice Lee had residue Heathers energy in her Lois performance because sometimes her line reads have a mean-girl energy for no reason. Lines like ep 4's "nobody NORMAAAL believes in aliens!" and her classic xenophobe line in ep 8 "just try being NORMALL??" whenever she says "normal" is has the energy of a prep school girlie bullying you for being gay asdfaf. This isn't adult jaded mean Lois woman energy it sounds preppy and I've decided to find joy in the pain.

"Did you LIE about YOUR FEELINGS FOR ME??" hahaha man

Sorry to pick on Alice Lee but she tripped on her lines in ep 2 when she's talking with Jimmy at the park near the end of the conversation and it's so weird. Like first-take weird.

Alice Lee again sorry but her punk edgy Lois voice in the multiverse episode is actually painful to listen to!! It's clearly an uncomfortable range for her voice. It's like a prep school girlie trying to be a butch I'm sorryyy

Jack Quaid's Superman/Clark voice was grating after a while! There's so little to no difference between his Supes and Clark voice, so Supes just sounds like a whiny child for much of the show. I yearn for Tim Daly's voice,,,

Some characters are straight up miscast in my opinion! Chris Parnell brings 0 menace or presence to Deathstroke, I can not take him seriously. Mxy's voice (David Errigo Jr) doesn't match his character design and looks the most out of place. Livewire's voice actress (Zehra Fazal, who I know is competent elsewhere and I'm sure many of these actors were just done dirty by bad writing and direction) simply can not beat the charisma of Lori Petty in STAS. And Lex looks and sounds awful, like we knew they couldn't beat Clancy Brown's STAS!Lex but they didn't even try.

I thought General Lane's actor was the most decent voice (has menace and presence) but even then in ep 8 when he says "Negative. After this operation, Superman will cease to be a problem. PERMANENTLYYYYY." HAHAHA it's so bad he hisses that last part.

Mallah's French accent is awful. Maybe get an actual French actor.

Jimmy's voice acting wasn't awful but some lines really took me out of the scene. He gets chased by robots and says "ruuuuun" in a way that actually confused me as I watched it.

Sooo yeah. Not a fan of the voice acting in this show! Which surprised me, because I figured they would do better with STAS being the last show preceding it with such memorable voices.

Background Information

Sophia "Sophie" Grace Turner is the twin sister of Timmy Turner, she was born 5 minutes after Timmy, making her the younger twin. Sophie may seem to be girly on the outside, but she's actually a tomboy on the inside, she likes girl stuff, but she also likes boy stuff like playing videos games, reading comics books, etc;

Timmy and Sophie have a close bond ever since they were born, they're inseparable so they're rarely seen apart. Due of being twins, one knows how the other is feeling, and what the other twin is thinking, and Sophie and Timmy always have each other's back. Because of this, Timmy and Sophie are known as the "Turner Twins".

Unfortunately, they feel their parents are playing favoritism because they were actually expecting a daughter than twins, so when Sophie was born after Timmy, they always favorite her over her brother, even though they love both twins equally, but Timmy doesn't resent it since Sophie always assured him she doesn't like how their parents favors her over him when they're supposed to love them equally.

Unlike her brother who gets F's and bad grades, Sophie has good grades in school, getting straight A+, so she's very smart. She isn't afraid to get dirty as she loves to play sports. But she is annoyed with Tristan Tang, one of the most popular and handsome boy in school, her former crush and the twin brother of Trixie Tang, and Remy Buxaplenty because they both have a huge crush on her and she tries to avoid them.

She is also the only character who isn't afraid of Vicky as she stands up for herself and her twin brother, which annoys Vicky because Sophie isn't afraid of her. She is also the only girl who Chester McBadbat doesn't mind hanging out with since they're best friends and Chester, alongside A.J, knew Sophie isn't like most girls.

Sophie has a habit of twitching whenever someone, mostly Timmy, says, "What could possibly go wrong?", meaning something bad is going to happen, so it's a warning system for Sophie and those around her. Sophie also has a beautiful singing voice and hopes when she grows up, she'll become a famous singer, just like her idol and favorite singer, Chip Skylark.

Sophie has the perfect combination of beauty and brains, so she's kinda like Belle from Beauty and the Beast, she's a bookworm and she focuses on books or playing sports but remains clueless because almost every boy in school wants to date her since she's one of the prettiest girls in school who can rival against Trixie Tang's. Unlike Timmy, Sophie doesn't care about getting popular, she enjoys being herself, so even though she's not popular of being born in a rich and wealthy family, she is unknowingly popular for her natural beauty.

Because of her mother's terrible cooking, Sophie teaches herself or watching TV shows or reading cookbooks of how to cook delicious food for herself, her twin brother and their father. Despite of being a 10-year-old girl, she is actually very strong, no doubt inherited it from her mother, she can also be intimidating when someone pushes her buttons and makes her angry, like how she punches Francis to leave her brother alone, making him afraid of her, no doubt she got it from Vicky after some of her influence rubbed off on her.

• Sophie's birthday is March 21, which makes her an Aries (planet Mars) in the horoscope.

• Sophie's favorite colors are blue, purple and pink.

• Sophie is right-handed since her brother is left-handed.

• Sophie's most common wish has been to make "everything back to normal", considering the dire consequences of many of her brother's previous granted wishes before that. Although she does say it with Timmy by saying, "We wish everything was back to normal".

• Unlike her brother, she doesn't have buck teeth since her grandfather, Pappy, was able to remove the pacifier from her, but forgot to do the same for Timmy due to him forgetting where he is and wonder where he was, causing Timmy to develop buck teeth by sucking on a pacifier too much. So even though they're identical twins, the only way to tell them apart was by their teeth and the clothes they wear.

• Since Timmy and Sophie are twins, they have Cosmo and Wanda as their godparents since only married fairies are assigned to twins while fairies that are single are assigned to the only child.

• Sophie has been to therapy with Timmy. The twins have been going to therapy possibly since they were five because there is a picture of them (and Gary, from their imagination) in therapy.

Rewatching alot of episodes with Jimmy pesto and I was just wondering if you have any hc for him or Trev (I love trev so much💕)

hmm i haven't thought abt them as much as i want to?? jimmy and trev's relationship is weirdly sweet and you can tell they care about each other a lot :)

jimmy pesto is not straight and he has a weird sexual relationship with trev (and he secretly goes out and has sex with male prostitutes) but he has VERY bad internalized homophobia and like 1000 layers of toxic masculinity to work through before he's ready to have a healthy relationship with literally anyone, he would be a lot happier if he wasnt so scared of being seen as weak or feminine

also he is A LOT more affectionate with his kids in private and he really does love them, he's scared of being seen as weak so he's kinda mean to them in public but he always goes to their performances and plays and he says i love you to them but jimmy jr has a complicated relationship with him bcuz he doesn't understand why his dad cant be openly affectionate and loving towards him, andy and ollie are younger and just happy to be around their dad regardless but its definitely not healthy for any of them and it makes his kids feel like he's ashamed of them

he really REALLY does love trev and its probably his only emotionally honest and open relationship with anyone, he's actually a lot more vunerable with trev than he ever was with his wife (mostly when he's drunk)

he and his wife divorced not long after the twins were before bcuz having three young kids did NOT help their relationship actually!!!! but even before then his wife was a stay at home mom and generally didnt come around the resturant very often so most people wouldnt have really known her, she was never introduced to the belchers or anything. the kids have a very complicated relationship with their mom too

jimmy pesto opened his resturant before he had kids!!!! we can see it was already open when bob and linda moved in and they were pregnant with tina, i like to think that his resturant was a family business that his father opened :) it makes sense that he would be opposite to bob in that sense and have a better working relationship with his father

trev loves jimmy and believes that he can be a better person and he KNOWS that jimmy doesn't want to be shitty all the time he's just stupid and insecure, thats why he doesnt leave even when jimmy treats him kinda terribly bcuz they have had a lot of intimate moments together. maybe not the healthiest relationship though

jimmy will invite trev over to his apartment to play with his toys when he doesnt have his kids :) they race cars and play golf together and actually have a lot of fun, when the kids are at his apartment theyre allowed to play with the toys as long as they're careful and dont break them (mostly when he's supervising them and jimmy jr is there)

trev has a bad relationship with his family and doesnt talk to them really at all so he sees the pesto family as kinda like his weird surrogate family??? he's known the kids since they were babies and they call him uncle trev and he usually is invited to their thanksgiving dinner :D if its a year where the kids mom has them for thanksgiving/christmas jimmy will invite trev over and they'll generally get drunk and complain about their shitty lives and families but sometimes they'll do a secret santa thing and buy each other gifts

jimmy remembers trev's birthday every single year and buys him a small present bcuz he knows trev doesnt really have anyone else celebrating his birthday, he doesnt make a big deal out of it but trev gets very emotional bcuz he for some reason assumes jimmy won't remember this year (but he always does)

trev likes babysitting the twins and he'll play with them and draw crayon pictures while theyre at the resturant :) andy and ollie will request he draws things and even though he is NOT an artist he tries and they absolutely love it and keep the drawings in their bedroom, jimmy jr also used to be involved with this when he was younger but he's too cool to hang around trev now *eyeroll*
