so, i was called in VMC for a final interview last Monday. swear to pots and pans, i was so scared and nervous at that time. the principal looks like she’s gonna (opps, the principal corrected me. i should use, going to), going to eat me alive. asjed me a lot of question and even made me singggggg but, good heavens, i am in! im employedddddddd. *insert dancing emoji here* i couldn’t be more happy that time. they clarify the salary and made it clear that it is php 10, 500 per month. i am fully aware that there’s a huge difference between my salary before than what i will be getting this time. and i never felt any disappointments nor any problems with the given amount. so i signed the contract. i stop by to the community church, prayed to God and thank Him for another blessing. He knows that i really wanted this. so i got home, told my mom about it. told her about the salary, and she’s totally okay with it. and i am too.

but people around me is just so mean. the main reason why i really don’t like saying things to other people because they say too much. they comment too much even it is not neccesary. so, my “i-have-all-say-about-things” tita, asked me if i have a job na. i don’t have any choice to say the truth. sabi ko yes meron na. she asked how much daw yung salary ko. sinabi ko na nga na PHP 11,000 tas ayun. she said a lot of things na like, bat ang baba naman. ang kapal daw ng mukha ng school. bakit ko kinuha. some stuffs like that. i really like to bitchslap her. i really like to say sa kanya na, ‘ahm, excuse me? my mom is even okay with the salary, then why can you not? are you the one going to make all the works in the school? are you going to make all the reports, the lesson plans and visual aids? ikaw ba yung mahihirapan at yung mapapagod ?’ the fuck.

and as a education student, you should know that education is not synonym to money. teaching is more like charity. walang pera sa pagtuturo teh but we are chosen to be in this field. we are not here because of the money. yes, i am fully aware na my family needs money but who am i to turn my back to the school that is trying to accept me as one of their teachers? and take note, i don’t have any experience in this field yet, they have chosen me. sino ako para maging choosy? who am i to decline the offer?

You are just too much. Well, what can i do, we are not the same. i am not all about money. i would rather be stuck in the school having low monthly salary than be in a place wherein i really dont like what i am doing. sabagay, ikaw kase, materialistic. puro ka pasarap. puro ka gusto neto, gusto ko niyan, bili mo ko neto, bili mo ko niyan. that makes us different. that makes me more valuable than you.

but you know what, i am happy. say, maliit nga talaga sahod ko. i really dont care. the mere fact that God answered my prayers, and God provided me a decent job, i am way way way beyond happy for it.

ps. goodluck nalang sayo 'ta. sana matapos mo na yang pag-aaral mo. i hope you realized na there are more things than money and you should not when to shut your mouth and not to comment and be happy for the people around you rather than putting them down. don’t worry, i forgive you already.
