Me: dargonus is for lovers. Also me: dargonus is kunrad voigtvir's show!!!
“When you are entrusted with setting into motion the final piece of a months long plan, do not allow one of your subordinates to go rogue.” Kunrad straightened his shoulders, addressing the crowd. He turned her head towards Vincent Gaprak, “You and I understand this, Aylin, as we’re both the masters of a great machinery of men. Some people learn that lesson too late. That kind of lack of coordination can wreck havoc on even the most carefully laid plans."
Vincent shifted on his feet, looking between them. The man bowed deep, “Lord Kunrad, my house and I have been your most loyal and industrious servants. Is it not enough that I rectified the situation before the truth of our plans came to li-”
Kunrad spun around. A bang.
Aylin shudders as she watches Vincent Gaprak fall dead on the steps of the von Valancius throne.
“Vincent!” Astartia Werserian’s voice rang out from the crowd.
“Oh, no. Great grand daddy Abelard will be sorely disappointed to know of your affections for a servant of Lord Tzeentch, would he not?”
With Kunrad not looking, Aylin made a swipe for Kunrad’s dagger. The blade gleamed with an unnatural blue glow as she drew it. Before he could shove her away, she threw herself at him, driving the dagger into his heart.
She heard Cassia gasp. Bolters raised around them.
Aylin and Kunrad fell to the floor. She pushed herself atop him, digging the dagger deeper and drawing it all the way up to his throat. She looked away but heard his flesh rip and his clothes tear.
Cassia let out a cry of horror, “Lord Captain, Lord Captain, stop. I beg of you.”
Was it so horrible a sight? Aylin’s own stomach churned at the thought. She ignored it, trying to picture instead that she was merely cutting through a thick steak, but that came to a stop when she heard a low laugh rumble from under her. Slowly, she opened her eyes to see Kunrad Voigtvir staring back at her with the most amused look at his face. His hand was raised. Open palm. A sign not to fire.
Aylin looked down at the gore she had made of him and dropped the dagger. She twisted to her side and vomited.
“Again, a commendable effort.” Kunrad sat up and pushed a handkerchief to her hands. He patted her back in a mock show of friendliness, “Everyone, please, applaud my cousin for her newfound courage.”

8, Damien. Dogmatic former Navy Officer.
#8. Betray | Damien
The brig door screeched open, drawing Aurelia out of the stupor. Bloodied, soiled, and aching all over, she looked at the ragged state of her hands and their broken nails, and idly wondered if she could use them as weapons against her jailor.
"I have another cousin for you, cousin," sneered Theodora's former Master of Whispers, now the man who had not just taken her life, but her voidship, and the collection of all the heirs that Theodora had gathered.
The young man Kunrad Voigtvir shoved in to her cell had hair the same shade of gold, though it was stained with blood. The man fell to his knees, hand smashing against the floor at the force, and then he was rebounding, spinning, hurling a curse at his captor. "Despicable, faithless, wretch!"
From his side of the bars, Kunrad laughed. "Oh, cousin, settle down now, settle down! You will have your time yet." With the clipping of his boots on the decking and the soft, pneumatic hiss of the outer doors sealing, Kunrad left.
The man wrapped his hands around the bars and shook with all his might. "God Emperor, give me strength to break these bars!" But no invocation would summon the Emperor there. Eventually, he growled and pressed his back to a wall, sliding to the floor.
Aurelia caught his wary eye. "Aurelia," she said, by way of greeting. "I would extend my hand, but it is rather dirty."
"I know who you are," the man replied.
"You have me at a disadvantage, then."
"Damien."
"Damien." Aurelia smiled. "And why are you here?"
"Because I trusted the wrong man."

LAST TIME, ON ROGUE TRADER!
Having escaped the Rykad system and arrived on Footfall station, the Rogue Trader Abby von Valancius set about charting every single star system on the available map and doing every single side quest and optional encounter she could get her grubby little hands on.
Once the chores were taken care of, she dealt with the Valancious Protectorate worlds: Janus, Dargonus, and Kiava Gamma.
Janus was in the throes of rebellion, and in the course of investigating, the Rogue Trader discovered the rebels were backed by a small group of Eldar and the planetary governor was a Slaanesh worshiper. Gaining the aid of Aeldari Ranger Yrliet, the Rogue Trader killed the cultist governor, and negotiated a ceasefire between her people and the Eldar, allowing the xenos to continue living on the imperial agri world in secret.
Kiava Gamma's prime manufactorum had fallen to Chaos as the Fabricator Censor was seduced by infinite knowledge promised by the Ruinous Powers. After surviving another encounter with a Chaos Space Marine of the Word Bearers, preaching the power of Chaos Undivided, the Rogue Trader and company slew the heretical elements, and salvaged the Manufactorum to restore Kiava Gamma.
While Dargonus itself was mostly uneventful, the prison world of Vheabos VI had gone silent, and needed to be addressed before the Rogue Trader could formally take her place as head of the Protectorate and Rogue Trader. On the penal colony, the Rogue Trader encountered a group of loathsome Drukhari, or Dark Eldar, who had turned the inmates into gladiators for their amusement. While the eldar on the planet were dealt with, the encounter set in motion a game of cat and mouse as the Rogue Trader traveled hither and yon throughout her domain to stop Drukhari raids on various worlds, culminating in an encounter with the raiders leader, a man named Marazhai, on one of Rogue Trader Winterscale's border worlds.
Marazhai challenged the Rogue Trader to a final showdown, but it was a trap. While von Valancius sailed off to meet the Drukhari, Marazhai withdrew his forces to attack Dargonus in the largest attack the capital had ever seen. Though the Rogue Trader and her retinue succeeded in repelling the dark eldar forces, Marazhai escaped, promising he was not finished with our heroine.
After the dust had settled and the servants had cleaned up all the bodies, it was time for the ascension ceremony where the Rogue Trader would at last be properly recognized and take her place as lord of the Valancius Protectorate. Celebrations were lively and included feeding all the poor and needy of the capital world, and the Rogue Trader had a chance to meet the esteemed nobility of her dominion.
She also met Lord Inquisitor Xavier Calcazar, who had some choice words for the newly anointed Rogue Trader and some her more questionable decisions...letting xenos live on an imperial world, salvaging technology touched by heretics, choosing to save a handful of civilians rather than destroy a demon world in the making, keeping an alien in her retinue. While all technically within her rights as Rogue Trader, the Lord Inquisitor stressed that she should be mindful of such loose interpretations of Imperial law going forward, and be ready to cooperate with the Inquisition when called on.
The Rogue Trader and Magos Pasqal also make a startling discovery: the Rogue Trader's ship is alive. Or rather, it houses a Machine Spirit of incomparable power that displays true sapience and self-awareness, calling itself Nomos. The Rogue Trader recognizes it as "the Warrant Guardian", the voice that came to her aid against Kunrad Voigtvir, and the mysterious force that saved the ship from the destruction of Rykad Minoris. Could this entity be an ally, or something more sinister?
Finally, Yrliet met with the Rogue Trader in private to discuss news of great importance: she received coordinates to where some of her kin from the destroyed craftworld of Crudarach have taken refuge! So to the distant star system of the Atlas Reach the Rogue Trader goes, in search of new adventures!
What will happen in Chapter 3? Tune in and find out...now!

ROGUE TRADER MARGOT LANCASTER VON VALANCIUS
DOGMATIC ROGUE TRADER
In the mirror above, she saw her reflection hunched over the basin. Milky water dripped down her chin, thickened by white powder and vermilion pigment. An hour worth of careful brush strokes gone in an instant, revealing the rough, discolored flesh underneath. Death had stretched its fingers across her face, down her back, over her legs, up her arms. The truth is silent. No matter how hard I try, the lie will always speak louder.
Born to a high king of a petty feudal world, the former princess watched her dynasty tear itself apart over the throne, leaving nothing but a shell of the once-prosperous planet. The loss of her husband and son hardened Margot's heart, turning her into a ghost of the charming and cheerful woman she used to be, as dogma and faith in the Emperor became her only comfort. After the end of the war, narrowly escaping execution and those who would seek to turn her nephew - the new king - against Margot, Kunrad Voigtvir's arrival on the planet under Lady Theodora's order to summon her kinswoman was entirely unexpected.
Now, the widow finds herself in a new reality, no less dangerous than the deadly court intrigue she endured in the past. The master of whispers has been a constant at her side - but is he protecting the interests of the Von Valancius dynasty, or his own ambitions?

Eltura took the title of Rogue Trader von Valancius ten years ago. She reunited her planets, she escaped Commorragh, she raised her dynasty to primacy among the other Rogue Traders of the Expanse, and she did it all under the auspices of the Edge of Daybreak. But when she challenged her patron in the depths of Eufrates II, she failed, and as punishment the Edge of Daybreak shunted her into the next timeline over – back to Kunrad Voigtvir’s mutiny, seemingly with no one the wiser – and told her to try again.
Realized I never actually posted this here. Hi! I'm writing a fic! If you'd like something a little meta and a little heretical give it a look.
