Fear The Walking Dead: The Real Deal - Introduction

Note: This is a fan-based alternative universe or alternative ending to Fear The Walking Dead, nothing here truly happened but it definitely should've happened, also Serena is Laurel, and she's alive in this universe and yes, lots of things are different in here.

Story

Betrayed, that's how Troy ended up dying in front of his loved ones, his wife, his child, they all had to watch him being stabbed by the witch of the apocalypse, he fell to the ground, whimpering from the pain, the last thing he heard was Laurel's scream, the last thing he's seen was how no one gave two craps about what Madison did, again.

Laurel had taken Tracy and hidden behind the trees, away from everyone's prying eyes, worried for her safety, she waited until everyone was off on their own way and she ran towards her dying husband, the two of them dragged the barely alive Troy into a vehicle and drove away, stopping at an abandoned building in Virginia, only stopping every now and then to make sure Troy was still alive.

Once they reached the building, she started to use all of her medical training to save her husband, Tracy helped of course, Troy had taught all the children basic first-aid skills, she was mommy's little nurse, and the two of them managed to keep him alive, although severely wounded and feeling anguished.

After that is out of the way, Lyn signals for Troy's men to join them at the given location and they do, making it one of the most secure locations there is.

One day, while Lyn was attending to Troy's wound, she was signaled to go to the main gate, she did so, and when she did, she found the party of Dwight and Sherry, as well as the people from PADRE, although she was tempted to shoot them at the spot, but they negotiated their way with medicine, food and expertise, things that they lacked currently at The Sanctuary.

A friendship forms almost immediately between Dwight, Sherry and Tracy, which made it easier for Lyn to like them, however, Troy didn't share the same sentiments with his wife and daughter, he tried to get rid of the PADRE people multiple times, only for them to prove their worth, especially once he saw that they didn't kill Russel like they had him believe.

Eventually, MADRE and Troy's band of rascals live together in peace under his leadership, as he had proven himself the leader that no one wants but everyone needed, he ran the place like a tight ship and ensured everyone's survival, while Dwight began to admire the man and eventually a friendship formed between the two even though Troy would never admit it, and Dwight became one of his trustees.

When Dwight was on a run for supplies, he saw a car in the middle of the night with two males in it, when he went to investigate further, he learned that they were Frank and Klaus, Strand was nowhere to be found, he helped them back to the Sanctuary then learned that Strand had shown them his true color and therefore, the duo escaped as far as possible and their car broke down, Troy reluctantly accepted them as refugees as long as they pull their weight around.

Ever since then, the group resided in The Sanctuary, living a mundane life, whatever that meant in an apocalypse, and fought against different, unimaginable challenges to protect their home and peace.

What is your favorite movie/TV show to gif?

TUA inspires me the most, probably, because I'm most invested in so many of those characters and despite only being three seasons, there's just a lot of content there to work with. I can go through those episodes a thousand times and still find something I haven't giffed yet or want to or some totally new take on a thought I had previously.

I also really love to gif TWD: World Beyond, it's my all time favorite show, and the tags are soooo bare. Those gifs barely get any traction because most people don't care about the show but it's special to ME and I will gif it forever. There are just so many good moments, so many beautiful dynamics (especially in the realm of adoptive + found families), so many good lessons that encompass the show, and I just don't think I'll ever run out of ideas for it. It's also one of the rare shows that I love every single character in, so it's not like I have to avoid certain scenes/dynamics/etc. It's just my comfort show in every sense, so I love giffing it.

In general, I really like post-apocalyptic aesthetics + horror, and I tend to want to gif that kind of stuff more than anything. I watch a lot of lighter shows but I don't ever have the same inspo for that kind of thing.

How many unposted sets are in your drafts right now?

I currently have a few of my sets for TUA appreciation week done (Favorite superpower, 1/2 favorite quotes, & a free choice... I won't spoil any of those but I'm very content with those right now 😌), and I've got quite a few half finished sets that I'm either not ready to go back to or am not sure about going back to... a Viktor/Sissy set that the quote I was using for just doesn't work anymore but it's pretty so I am determined to find a way to make it work, a FTWD ship set that I kind of lost my direction on, a typography set for usergif's back to cool event, and a Klaus/Luther set that kind of evolved into 3 other different sets I've already posted so I'm not sure I'll go back to it. BUT - my queue usually has 10+ things in it and I change how many things post a day depending on how I feel. Right now, there are currently 11 random gifs there.

What sets if any do you have planned to make in the future?

The rest of my TUA appreciation week gifsets are my priority right now. I've got a few of them done, but I have plans for multiple each day so it's really just .... whether or not I have the time/inspiration for all of them.

But I haven't been giffing for very long, so I recently did a rewatch of a few of my favorite shows and saved the clips of everything I want to gif, so I kind of have a never ending supply of things I want to get to.

As for bigger projects, I'm working on a few "this character in every episode" sets for some of my favorite characters in TWD, a few dif TWD parallels I want to get to, and I've got a long list of quotes/lyrics/etc for my favorite characters that I eventually want to get to (that's why there's been so many random Luther quote sets these past few months... my list for him is so long with 3 years of things I've saved, I will never tire of giffing him).

My problem with FTWD was that there wasn't even one character that was likable. I can't watch a show when there isn't at least one character to care about. Was the reason why I quit TO when Rebekah left bc by then Klaus/Elijah became boring af and there was nothing about them to care about.

Well I think that they solved that problem later on, but that really depends on your own opinion. Plus Morgan is now on this season which I have really enjoyed so far.

So in season 8 I feel like Strand wasn't truthful to Frank. Like I feel like he didn't tell Frank everything and the whole truth cause like...if Strand told Frank A QUARTER of the things he did, I feel like Frank would have taken Klaus and gotten out ASAP

Okay newcomers come to the Sanctuary, probably brought in by Dwight and reluctantly accepted by Troy.

The newcomers, only being there for an hour come to the entirely feasible conclusions that:

1: Laurel and Sherry are the only two with common sense.

2: Troy, Dwight, Russell and Frank are all in a very weird relationship but basically all married to one another and share a kid named Klaus who doesn't deserve to be stuck in the middle of the Apocalypse.

Newcomer: You and your husbands are very cute Russell and Frank glancing at one another confused because when the fuck did they get married? Dwight choosing violence and wrapping his arm around Troy with a charming smile: Thank you. Troy: Campbell get off of me before you lose the goddamn arm. Dwight: Ignore him, he's cranky in the mornings.
