Khafre Enthroned
The purpose of the statue was to legitimize and celebrate the universal authority of the king, of whom the throne was one of the most powerful expressions, as the guarantor of the stability and unity of the country.
The concept is further emphasized by the presence of the falcon-god Horus, who protects the head of the king between his wings as though to underline the perfect symbiosis of the man and the god.
Old Kingdom, 4th Dynasty, around 2570 BC. Made out of anorthosite gneiss (related to diorite). Excavation by Auguste Mariette (1860)From the Valley Temple of Khafre. To be in the Grand Egyptian Museum, Giza. JE 10062 Read more

Statue of King Khafre
This statue of "Auguste Marit" was found in his valley temple in Giza. It dates back to the ancient state "Fourth Dynasty".
Let's know who is King Khafre 👇
He is the owner of the second largest pyramid in Giza and it is called the Pyramid of Khafre. He is the son of King Khufu, the owner of the Great Pyramid. He ruled for 25 years and built his funeral group in Giza.
This statue is one of the most prominent pieces of art in the Egyptian Museum. The king appeared seated in an official form on the throne, wearing a nemes hair cover, and adorning his forehead with a royal uraeus for protection, and wearing a royal false beard. He appears wearing a short royal apron.
The king is depicted placing his left hand on his knee and the right hand on the knee as well, but he is held and holding a piece of leopard skin with it. Opinions differ about what he holds in his hand, either a handkerchief or a papyrus, and some believe that it is a legal document of his sitting on the throne. Here the statue appeared through his looks and his body in a position of strength and firmness, and the artist drew a simple smile on his lips, and the artist excelled in showing him the ideal form of the king and the muscles of his body.
Standing behind the head of the falcon King Horus, spreading his wings
On the legs of the throne seat appeared the form of lions for protection, as well as the two sides of the throne, the symbol of unity that appears in the form of a trachea and two lungs, and the papyrus and lotus were linked to them, symbolic of the tribal and marine face. The name of Khafre and his titles such as “Khafre, the master of the crowns” were engraved on the throne’s base.❤️🇪🇬

Facing directly from west to east, it stands on the Giza Plateau on the west bank of the Nile in Giza, Egypt.

I’m looking for a fic from ao3 in which Harry and Draco (and others) come back for 8th year. Both are hit by a curse (it later turns out it was meant just for Draco) and they spend 3 weeks dreaming a life together. In it, Draco, Harry, and Ron are the trio. Hermione and Pansy are not in the dream. Draco and Harry get married in the dream, but they recognize something is wrong at the end which is what eventually wakes them up. They go to the Manor to try to figure out why they were cursed because they suspect it was to find something specific and their friends are there too. They keep forgetting and act as they did in the dream, much to their friends’ horror. Draco has a funny “chair thing” he does in real life that he did not in the dream because Pansy wasn’t in the dream. They eventually discover why it happened and Harry wants to go back, but Draco convinces him to stay. The fic ends with Millicent coming and Harry delightedly greeting her as a good friend, even though they’ve never met in real life before.

do you know that ....
The statue that baffled the kings of the world, “unnatural accuracy and details”!!
The statue of King Khafre is the strangest, most beautiful, and most complex sculpture on the face of the earth 💕
It is made of diorite stone, which is considered one of the hardest stones on earth. Throughout human history, there is no statue that a person could carve from this stone, except for very small sculptures in size that were carved in our modern era and not carved with this precision either 😎
This statue is 168 cm high and 57 cm wide. It embodies the king in a sitting position with the falcon Horus behind him to protect him.
One of the great things about this statue is that in order to be able to see the face of the king and Horus, you must look from the side. If you stand in front of it, you will only see the face of the king. You can imagine the greatness.
Oh, by the way, this statue is about more than 5,000 years old, and it is located in the Egyptian Museum

The removal and transportation of the upper part of a colossal statue of Ramesses II from Thebes, now in the British Museum.
The discovery of the tomb of Seti I in the Valley of the Kings
The opening of Khafre's pyramid for the first time.
