Consider: BKDK Way of the Househusband AU
Where if, post-war, Katsuki is NOT able to come back to using his Quirk like he used to, on account of damage done to him, and/or due to the fact that his heart has basically been cobbled back together after extensive, mortal damage and it can't work to the level that Katsuki would push it to...
So he loses his dream of becoming the No. 1 Hero. He faces a "mourning period" of that loss, but has Izuku sticking with him through it all, keeping him grounded, and telling him that no matter what, they're friends and partners(maybe more), he's Izuku's hero no matter what. And instead of, as old Katsuki would, letting that destroy and/or enrage him and make him a bitter old clone of Endeavor, accepts that for himself and that it's not the end of the world.
And instead turns to support Izuku one hundred percent.
He could probably carry on with honors at UA, but maybe taking a more hybridized academia that includes more General/Support studies, and they both graduate in a few years. He'd probably make a place for himself helping with minor hero work, consulting, eventually working in Izuku's agency in a very prominent position(basically his right hand man, or sidekick...like Nighteye to All Might?)
And additionally, keeps Izuku together on his downtime. Making sure meals are cooked, house is clean before they head in to work. Making sure Izuku generally takes care of himself and keeping an eye on him, and on the work side, tracking the villains he's taking on, keeping rigid score of battles and patterns to ensure the GREATEST chance of Izuku coming back to him. Bc after all, no one knows Izuku/Deku better than Katsuki. (also this is him taking on that Analytical side of Izuku as we saw with him vs. AFO again, but in the context of battle/villain/hero analysis)
If Izuku tries to overbook himself or over extend himself on the field, Katsuki will outright CANCEL appointments/interviews/etc if he thinks its' too much on Izuku's schedule, as well as go out into the field his damn self and drag Izuku home if he's getting a little too focused on Herowork without thought for himself.
They'll spat a little over "Kacchan, I'm fine!" and "No, don't you act like you've had enough sleep with all those stupid celebrity appearances they've booked you on lately, You were slow and I just watched you stumble TWICE. You're going home and getting into bed right the fuck now!! IcyHot's already on the scene to take over for you!!"
(but overall, Izuku DOES eventually learn to read the signs when they're pointed out to him and listens to Kacchan's and the others' worries about his well being)
But then an hour later, they'll be sweet and domestic at home with Izuku in a big sweater napping off the stress of his shift on the couch as Katsuki quietly cooks dinner dressed in his comfy PJs, with both of their cell phones turned on Do Not Disturb and in "phone jail" so they can get an hour or two to themselves without any calls from HQ. ~
Also like in WotHH villains will sometimes target him if he's out getting groceries or something homey like that(since he's got a pretty HIGH celebrity status after the war, kidnapping AND sludge attack), but he DOES still train, has some sort of license to use his Quirk, and easily hands them their asses. Dispels and spits at any rumors that he's "washed up" now that he's mainly working in the background of an agency instead of being a powerhouse Hero as well of taking care of chores and household.
Katsuki can still beat the crap out of them and tells them they're just lucky as hell they didn't try to attack him or imply his weakness in front of Izuku...otherwise their outcome would have been very different. and messier. ~

okay, so i'm watching a video on hajime no ippo, a boxing anime, bc i like the youtuber's voice, and apparently the mangaka used to frequently get into physical fights as a teenager but channeled it into boxing! so i propose to you! boxer bakugo! Perhaps with Izuku as his manager ~
Oh thats PERFECT Bakugou would be known for his explosive fists 💪😤😏💥💥💥
But YES absolutely, could you imagine? Troubled child Bakugou getting into fights with all the other trouble makers and Midoriya being the one person that stayed by his side the entire time? Bakugou had trouble understanding his relationship with Midoriya due to his own insecurities and stuff, why someone so nice would stick around an asshole like him that was always getting into fights and constantly finding himself in detention. As a kid of course he didnt understand his feelings about Deku and he often pushed him away but its because he didnt feel deserving of such genuine kindness 😭😭
As a teen in high school, his teacher (aizawa of course) could see his potential, how he aced whatever he did, as long as he did it, and suggested he tried out boxing, knowing that he just needed to direct his rage in a healthy way.
So after getting into ut, watching his grades improve, and his relationship with Deku, he does it professionally, because hes fucking incredible, and never loses a fight! And Midoriya is so proud of him of course, he studied the sport as well when Bakugou was getting into it, training with him even, so he could help in anyway he could 😭😭
Nobody really wants to deal with Bakugous attitude, so in the end, Midoriya offers to be his coach (though Bakugou is even better than him, so its more like a partner or sorts) and Bakugou thinks "hell, why not? This guy is smarter than most of those chumps, knows me, and wont give up on me." After his first win he goes right over and kisses Deku, who almost passes out on live TV avskgnskgnskdl
Bakugou pretty quickly becomes famous, not just because of his incredible first showing, but with how fast he rises through the rankings, his fights are brutal, but also strategic; hes so well rounded, and can take down any opponent.
Of course there are highs and lows...injuries.... Bakugou always wins, but at what cost? Their relationship is a heavy one, but its because they trust each other so much that they know they can be low with the other, that they will help carry the others burden to the edge of the world and back. They are real with each other, they dont hold back, and it gets rough with how much more brutal Bakugous fights get, and in this AU its Midoriya who worries over Bakugous safety, and Bakugou still struggles with thinking that Midoriya would be smart to simply leave him, that Midoriya deserves so much better. But in the end its always been the other. Its always been Deku, its always been Kacchan. And Midoriya is so proud of what he's overcome, and that he turned his life around, especially since hes seen the greatness in Bakugou since the very beginning. Plus...hes so cool! He cant help but watch him fight in awe 🥺🥺 he looks like a super hero.... (Flashback to how they first met, little Bakugou beating up older kids bullying Midoriya... Little Midoriya looking up at the back, in awe)
And Bakugou of course will never let go of Midoriya, the one who keeps his head above the water, even when everything is telling him to stop fighting and drown. He wants to be what Deku sees in him, and he wants to give Deku everything, because thats what Deku gave to him 😭😭😭
Vaoxvksocnaoxjaoxkals okay i really do know how to make everything be solely about bakudeku 😂😂😂
I also am imagining Todoroki as an opponent, with similar canon backstory, his father was a boxer but he could never beat the greatest boxer of all time, All Might, and he pushed Todoroki to become a boxer too, to become the heavy weight champion when he could never, and yes he was abusive and shitty. Bakugou struggles because he plans on going all out, but of course he wants to help the guy, but hes not Deku. So he goads Todoroki and maybe in between rounds he tells the guy "i didnt come here to fight Endeavor, I came to fight you!" Or something ahzkgnslfnskdj Bakugou stills wins of course and Todoroki has a lot of things to think about after that match, but it ends up being pretty chill between them two.
Oh yeah, and Bakugou eventually becomes heavy weight champion and he proposes to Deku right after the match, who once again cries on national TV :)
Ahxkvnwofjaofjsofjald okay sorry i just......the bakudeku really jumped out of this one. I'm only good for writing romance 😂😂 but YES i love the concept of Bakugou being a boxer, it really feels so fitting!! Thank you so much!!! 💖💖💖💖💖

some ...angst anyone?
can we have a scenario where Izuku just ACCIDENTALLY brought up the bullying case to Katsuki while they are fighting (bc my bby cinammon roll is in too much hurt cause bakacchan kept shouting at him)
——-
They’re at it again.
And they’re yelling over something stupid.  They can’t even remember how it started, or who said what first, but they can’t stop. They won’t stop, because that’s how their arguments always go.
Katsuki is wrong. Izuku is also wrong. They’re both in the wrong, but they keep yelling, because until they’re sick and tired, and can’t look at each other anymore,  they won’t stop.
Katsuki is closing the space between him and Izuku then, as he raises his voice louder. “ …And you act like its not a fucking problem! ”
Because it isn’t, really.
“Why should I?? It’s not anything you need to be worried about!  Why are you getting so angry??” Izuku presses his brows together and he inches himself toward the other. Their faces  are close,  they can feel the tense air between them as they glare into each other’s eyes.
Breaths heaving in annoyance and distress, they continue to stare each other down. Katsuki being unable to hold his anger well, opens his mouth again.
“Are you dumb, Deku?? Are you seriously askin why I’m angry? ”
And he reaches a hand out– he grabs onto Izuku’s wrist, and he regrets it right away, when he sees the sudden horror that forms in the latter’s green eyes. Because thats fear written on his face.
No, he doesn’t want to scare Izuku. Even if he did take his wrist, it wasn’t going to be to hurt him.
It isn’t bad intentions at all. He just wants to hold onto Izuku– Hold onto him tightly so he can’t run away. So they can argue their way through this dumb misunderstanding and pretend like it never happened, or laugh about it later.
“S..stop Kacchan!” Izuku snatches his wrist back and moves a few steps back.
“Deku–”
“Why are you acting this way- what were you going to do? Knock some sense into me like before?”
Then his mouth shuts instantly, and its his turn to feel regret. He swallows hard and suddenly his anger is gone. It dissipates faster than the blink of an eye, because Katsuki is just staring at him. There’s a hint of saddness and something close to realization painted all over his face. “K-Kacchan I didn’t mean-”
“So you think I’d do that? ” Katsuki isn’t yelling anymore.  Just speaking softly, more to himself than his boyfriend.  “You really think I’d throw a punch at your fuckin face..?”
“No. Kacchan, I didn’t mean that. I didn’t mean to say that.” Izuku’s voice is pleading, and it only becomes more weary when he sees tears beginning to wet Katsuki’s cheeks. “Kacchan, please-”
“I see. Okay. Whatever.”
Izuku is begging him more, hoping he can erase what he just said, but Katsuki is ignoring him,  brushing him off while he puts his shoes on.
Then he leaves.
And Izuku is sitting alone in the house now,  going through the argument that just happened, in his head.  Why did it start?  How did it escalate this far? Why would he say something like that?
Because he knows Katsuki. He loves Katsuki. He trusts him. So why did he draw back in fear? And why did he bring up the past?
Izuku hates himself more than anything right now.. he doesn’t know what to do but wait for Katsuki to come back. He has to eventually, doesn’t he? They live together. They argue all the time. Its just what goes with clashing peronalities, doesnt it? So Katsuki will come back. And Izuku will mend things.
But he doesn’t come back. Not until at least 4 am, anyway. Izuku had made his bed on the sofa, waiting for his significant other to return.
When Katsuki walks through the front door he looks at Izuku before going straight to the bedroom.  He’s tired, hes stressed, he’s cried all self hatred and anger out,  so he’s ready to talk to Izuku when he wakes. Of course, it occurs faster than he thought.
The sound of the open and close of the doors in the house stir Izuku enough to wake him. And he sits up rather quickly, searching in the darkness for the familiar face.
“Kacchan..” His voice is soft, when he enters the room, and Katsuki lifts his gaze from his hands to the other. Izuku keeps his distance, while he watches. “..Kacchan..I’m really–”
“Deku. I’ve thought things through.”
There’s silence between them. Its only a few moments,  but to Izuku it feels like an eternity. “..We should break up. ”
Suddenly everything is going blurry. Izuku blinks his eyes once, trying to clear his vision–blinks again, because its still all a blur. When he blinks a third time, thats when he feels the hot tears start spilling down his cheeks and he realizes that he’s crying.
Katsuki is avoiding eye contact as he speaks.  “Clearly we don’t trust each other as much as we thought.  I don’t blame you.  I hurt you so fuckin bad before. I thought you were crazy for even wanting to date me. I thought things could really work between us.. But you made it kinda obvious today that there’s still distrust and uncertainty.  So.. yeah. We should just end it now. There’s others that’re more deserving of you. Todoroki likes you.  Mirio does. Iida, might.  You got an endless list really. So do you really need me?”
There’s more silence. Katsuki is rubbing at his neck slowly, keeping on his ‘cool’ act. Though he can only manage to keep it up as long as he looks anywhere but at the one before him.
“No.. No,  Kacchan, please..” Izuku says between sobs. His hands are up against his face, so his words are coming out muffled. “I don’t want you to leave-I don’t want to leave you! I’m sorry for what I said,  I don’t know what made me say it!” He coughs a bit,  before continuing. “I love you. I trust you-  I didn’t mean to hurt you.. when we argue, sometimes I can’t help but remember back then. And it isn’t because I don’t trust you,  its just out of habit.. and when I said what I did.. It was stupid.  I’m stupid!” He shakes his head pulls his hands away from his face, finally looking at Katsuki. “Im so sorry.. I’m an idiot..”
Katsuki is watching him now. And he’d be a huge liar if he said it didn’t hurt to see Izuku crying like that. He can’t help but think he’s taking things too far, but despite Izuku apologizing now, he had to have meant what he said.  He doesn’t have the trust Katsuki thought he did. He’s afraid that Katsuki will hurt him. He thinks Katsuki will turn back to what he was.
“..Sorry, Deku.” He says. “..I just think it’d be better to stay apart.”
He leaves it at that.
Izuku continues trying to talk to him–trying to make things right.  He has to fix what he broke, because surely this isnt going to be their last fight. Katsuki is only saying this because he’s upset. They’re going to fix it– Izuku is going to fix it.
But days start to pass, and they don’t see each other.
Katsuki took majority of his things and left. He’s staying with Kirishima, and despite Izuku’s efforts to talk to him, there’s no luck.
Weeks pass.
There’s not a moment when Izuku isn’t thinking about Katsuki, and vice versa. Izuku is starting to lose hope, starting to think that its really over.
He’s sitting on his own in the living room one evening, when he hears a knock on the door. He stands himself up,  expecting Ochako to be there because he had invited her over for a bit. ( Anything to help get his mind off things.)
But when he opens that door and looks,it isn’t her.
Izuku’s eyes widen slightly, tears starting to fill them.
Katsuki is standing there, bag slinging over his shoulder. He’s looking down at the ground, trying to figure out what words to say.
“Deku.” He adjusts his stance,  before glancing up finally.  “…Deku, I’m sorry.. I was being a bastard by ignoring you. I love you … do you wanna take me back?”
Izuku isn’t wasting another moment before his arms are thrown around the other.   He’s letting out a sob,  as he buries his face into Katsuki’s chest. “D-don’t apologize-  its all my fault!  I hurt you and I’m the one who should be sorry–”
“Shh..” Katsuki lifts a hand up and sets it into the curly green locks,  stroking them gently.  “We both were wrong.. and.. After takin time to think about it,  I realized if you’re still feelin afraid it isn’t your fault.. you’re doin your best.  And that just means.. I gotta try harder too. We’re gonna get better.”
Izuku nods,  sniffling. A small smile forms on his lips and his voice is muffled.
“Okay, Kacchan.. okay… I love you. I’m sorry..”
“Me too.. I’m sorry and I love you too.” Then he kisses the top of his head.
