What the Lions are saying about Hogg only making the Exeter Premiership final bench
Tumblr media
1:06pm, 25 June 2021 Lions assistant coach Steve Tandy has shared his thoughts on the decision by Exeter to keep Scotland skipper Stuart Hogg on the bench for Saturday’s Gallagher Premiership final versus Harlequins in London. The Lions are currently in Edinburgh preparing for their eve-of-departure game versus Japan at Murrayfield and the four-strong Exeter contingent are the only remaining players yet to link up with Warren Gatland’s squad for their eight-match, three-Test tour in South Africa.ADVERTISEMENTHogg had been a regular pick in the Exeter team since he completed the Guinness Six Nations on the high of the March win away to France, but the potential Lions No15 Test starter had the rug pulled from under him when Chiefs boss Rob Baxter decided to bench him for last weekend’s league semi-final against Sale.Baxter admitted on Wednesday that he held discussions with Hogg at the start of this week to ensure there were no grievances following the full-back’s demotion to the replacements but he has not been able to dislodge Jack Nowell from the No15 jersey and he will be on the Twickenham bench for the showpiece finale to the English club scene just four weeks before the first Lions Test in Cape Town.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The making of England and Lions star Maro Itoje“Look, we don’t know how good Stuart is or the form he is in,” said Tandy, who has worked with Hogg in recent years in his role as Scotland defence coach. “You look at the squad Exeter have got, someone like Jack Nowell is a heck of a player and Rob Baxter sees the ins and outs of it.“For me, I know Stuart and I know what he is. Obviously, it is a little bit surprising but it is not my place to comment on selection for Exeter because Rob Baxter knows his players’ ins and outs and he knows what it takes to win competitions. That is up to the Exeter boys.”It's an awkward time for the potential Lions No15 Test starter after getting benched by his Premiership club#LionsRugby #EXEvHAR #GallagherPremFinal https://t.co/g7JgNmGmgQ— RugbyPass (@RugbyPass) June 23, 2021When the Exeter four do link up with the Lions for the flight to South Africa, 25 of Gatland’s players will have had a two-week start on them while another eight have been in camp since the start of this week. It will leave Hogg, Luke Cowan-Dickie, Jonny Hill and Sam Simmonds with a bit of catching up to do but having seen how quickly the players who joined up with the Lions for week two quickly got up top speed, Tandy has no major concerns after the delayed arrival of the Exeter quartet.ADVERTISEMENT“I know Warren has maybe connected with them a little bit but it is important to leave them alone from my end, just concentrate on the team here but also they have got a big game to prepare for so you don’t want to be confusing or taking the attention off what is really important for them at the time. I’m sure they will be up to speed pretty quickly when they come in. You see the Sarries guys, Kyle (Sinckler), Tom (Curry) coming in, these guys are unbelievable players and they picked up on the messages really quickly.”The Lions were forced into making two changes to the XV originally selected to face Japan, Tadhg Furlong and Justin Tipuric coming in for the back spasmed Zander Fagerson and the concussed Hamish Watson, but Tandy reported a clean bill of health following Friday’s captain’s run at Murrayfield.“Everyone is still okay, everyone has come through the team run,” he said. “Everyone was really excited, moving around really well, and there was real excitement. The boys can wait for it. Tomorrow can’t come quick enough… Everyone wants to get off to a win. Two weeks training, a couple of boys here a week, Ultimately we are focusing on performance and if we perform to the standards we have been training the outcome will hopefully look after itself.”"I know how I feel in my heart sitting here…"#LionsRugbyhttps://t.co/GUqkucLvVX— RugbyPass (@RugbyPass) June 25, 2021ADVERTISEMENT

National Kitchen & Bath Association 2019 Bathroom Design Trends
The National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) released its 2019 Bathroom Design Trends, which coincided with its annual Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS), celebrating the best in kitchen and bathroom design trends.
Freshome has already covered the latest trends in bathroom technology and bathroom faucets. But we asked Elle H-Millard, Certified Kitchen Designer and Industry Relations Manager at the NKBA, for photos and insights regarding some of the other key U.S. bathroom design trends.
Show highlight: the Blade 3D Printed Faucet by DXV
Tumblr media
This 3D printed faucet took home Best in Show. Image courtesy of DXV.
The Blade 3D Printed Faucet by DXV garnered a lot of attention at the KBIS. In fact, it won Best in Show. A computer-guided laser beam sinters powdered metal into the shape of the faucet with high heat and pressure. A solid metal block is formed out of the powder, and then the block is hand-finished to smooth extraneous metal.
The most popular bathroom style
Tumblr media

“The transitional bathroom style was the most popular style of bathrooms designed in the past year,” H-Millard tells Freshome. “Traditional and contemporary ranked two and three, respectively.” Over the next three years, she says transitional is projected to remain the most popular style. “Contemporary should be a close second, substantially passing the traditional style.”
Tumblr media
A powder room designed by Janik Lemery. Photography by Justin Van Leeuwen of JVL Photography. Image courtesy of the NKBA.
She says that people want something — a color or object — that makes the bathroom uniquely their own. “Customization is very important to today’s home remodeler,” H-Millard says. “Gone are the days of all-white or all-beige bathrooms with polished chrome finishes.” She says today’s bathroom includes raw gold and patinas, unique and interesting faucets and soaking baths with water coming from the ceiling.

“And we are seeing a lot of black, especially in smaller bathrooms and powder rooms.” Black is the most stylish color of every year, but H-Millard says it doesn’t have to be used only to bring elegance and chicness to a bathroom. “The initial feel is that the bath is larger than it is since you don’t see, at first, where the walls meet the floor and countertops,” she explains. “Black – both matte and polished – is here to stay.”
Bathtubs and showers
Tumblr media

“Both transitional-style and contemporary-style bathrooms boast open or swinging-door showers and free-standing or soaking tubs,” she says. “Shower tile for both styles includes large-format tile, but you will see more shapes (hexagon, arabesque) in the transitional style and more slab surround and big seamless pieces in the contemporary style.” While soaking tubs are still popular, she says there will be an increase in steam showers.
Tumblr media
The TOTO Flotation Tub with ZERO DIMENSION. Image by TOTO.
The TOTO Flotation Tub took first place in the NKBA 30s Choice Awards for innovation in the Wellness/Health category. TOTO’s Flotation Tub simulates zero gravity with a weightless experience. By creating a reclining position, the hips, knees and ankles are flexed, which reduces pressure on the body’s joints. The tub has a slip-resistant surface, adjustable headrest, massaging water jets, LED lighting, and a capacitive keyboard.
Sinks and faucets
Tumblr media

“We are seeing floating vanities, flat-panel doors and a lot more drawers to provide integrated storage,” she says. “The contemporary bathroom is embracing laminate, which is fast-approaching popularity due to its advancement in coatings and its customization and shaping properties.” Recessed panel doors are popular in the transitional style, and H-Millard says painted wood and wood grain are other popular choices. “Remodelers are seeking calming, relaxing, warm features for their bathrooms as they strive for the perfect spa-at-home experience.”

In addition to the Blade 3D Printed Faucet by DXV, trending faucets incorporate are sleek and stylish, and include nickel, chrome, stainless, black stainless, and rose gold. One example is Graff’s Camden faucet (above left), which merges traditional and contemporary style.  Sleek-Stone sinks are a prime example of bringing spa style to the home. The sinks are made of 75% natural dolomite minerals bonded with resin. There are no faucet holes in the sinks in the 2nd and 3rd photos above, but there are versions of the countertop model that include one or multiple faucet holes.
Flooring
Tumblr media

“Heated, large-format tale, plank, and ceramic/porcelain/stone tile are all popular flooring options,” H-Millard says. “Luxury vinyl, ceramic wood, and marble are also trending.  The Vitromex Conde Porcelain Marble Collection (above) includes glazed porcelain floor and wall tile that is available in a slip-resistant matte.
Technology solutions
Tumblr media
The Numi Intelligent Toilet and Konnect app. Image courtesy of Kohler.
“The smart toilet with an attached bidet feature is on the rise,” H-Millard says. “Younger adults looking to their home as an investment will pay special attention to the ‘green’ features of a smart toilet that is self-cleaning, that flushes according to need and that cleanses and dries without paper.” And, of course, the lighting around the rim at night helps to navigate the bathroom in the dark.
The Kohler Numi Intelligent Toilet has an adjustable heated seat and foot warmer, built-in speakers, hands-free opening and closing of the seat and cover and advanced cleansing functionality that includes a self-cleaning wand, precision air dryer and deodorizing filter.
Tumblr media
The Delta In2ition Two-in-One Shower and H2Okinetic Pendant Raincan Shower Head. Images courtesy of Delta.
The Delta In2ition Two-in One Shower is a combination showerhead and hand shower. You can switch between the two functions or use them both at the same time. You can also use the pause function to reduce the water to a trickle when lathering or shaving. By docking the hand shower back into the showerhead, the Delta MagaTite Docking technology will pull it precisely into place.
Each of the three pendant shower heads in the H2Okinetic Pendant Raincan Shower Head sculpts water into a unique pattern. By controlling speed, movement and droplet size, the Raincan provides three times the coverage of a standard showerhead. Users can adjust each of the pendant showerheads as desired.
“The bathroom is becoming more and more important to homeowners as this is the quietest place in the house,” H-Millard says. “And it is the place where one goes to unwind, relax and recharge so no amenity or technology is out of the question.”

hi!!! can you tell me the differences of the production between all the albums lana has made? idk why they're all so different but same i want more of an insight of how the process was for each one
Born To Die had tight production, tight vocals & I’m sure multiple vocal takes. Heavy beats that sort of overpowered the songs. Produced by Dan Heath, Rick Nowels, Emile Haynie, Justin Parker, Chris Braide, Robopop, & more. “It has a good mix of really heavy beats, and I’ve been working with The Philadelphia Orchestra. There’s beautiful, lush string sections.” “in the end, you focus on keeping the songs, the words, the production as good as you want it to be.”‘I’ve been thinking lately about French influences and hip-hop influences for my record, so I’m going to say “ghetto Monégasque”’ [from Monaco]. “it’s just beautiful – it’s just strings and beats.“  “I wrote Blue Jeans very quickly at the beach in Santa Monica, and there I knew that that would be the vibe of the album: summery and dark at the same time, the joy of the summer light and the sureness that it wouldn’t last. I immediately knew that Video Games would be an important song for me, it gave a sequel to Yayo, my first record’s last song that I loved.”
Paradise had lush production along with a few of the same producers. She said it was sort of summing up living at the Chateau Marmont and that time in her life and that it was summery. “I ask them, for example, that the chords sound like American Beauty meets Bruce Springsteen in Miami. Or I tell them “Think of a high school girl who escapes to get high.“ “I like that it feels more lush and tropical, and I like that it has more of a Pacific Coast sound at times, like “Gods & Monsters”. “I write the words and melody and they write all the chords and music. And then Dan Heath comes in for the string arrangements, after which Emile puts in the beats and soundscaping, like birds and bells.”
Ultraviolence -  was more stripped back and with a live band in the studio.“The thing about Dan is that he comes from that DIY place and actually so do I, in a way. So there was a sense of freedom from working with him. I think the fact that we felt really free translated into this early Seventies sound, especially with his wah-wah guitars.” “He was just gonna do this thing with his friends from Brooklyn down at his house in Nashville. It was a very grounding, but also very free experience.”“I wanted to make a record that was sort of this mix of beautiful jazz undertones and a West Coast fusion, kind of inspired by the Eagles and the Beach Boys and this sort of Laurel Canyon revival thing that was happening in the ’70s.”
“The way you heard it recorded is the way I freestyled it. I made it up on the spot with my guitar player and left it as it was with that session drummer, and just called it a day on that song. Like the vocal inflection has its own narrative, it’s not all lyric drive, it’s just kind of moments in time that are meaningful to me left as they were, kind of untouched. The fact that I didn’t go back and try to sing it better is really the story of that song, because that’s sort of me revealing to you a facet of myself: I don’t care that it’s not perfect. That’s why that song is more important in that way than what I’m actually saying.” - Lana on PWYC
“From how great the songs were to how confident she is as a musician to her fucking singing every song live, with a handheld microphone and a seven-piece band.” Dan on UV
Honeymoon  -
“I guess the first thing that was going on was that I really wanted to have one more record out that was able to speak for me, even if I wasn’t in a place where I felt like speaking about myself. Aside from that I was happy and not really feeling like the album needed to be too cathartic. It felt like a good time to have fun with some elements of psychedelia and surrealism, production-wise.”
Produced by Kieron Menzies & Rick Nowels instead of Mark Ronson. “I was going to work with Mark but, you know, his single was so big. He stopped by in town for about three days but as soon as he came he had to leave… we tried but he didn’t have too much time.”
“Hopefully my next foray will be into jazz. I feel like I’m getting there with songs like ‘Shades of Cool’ and ‘Cruel World’ and a cover of ‘The Other Woman’ by Nina Simone. I’m inching towards what I really love, which is kind of a Chet Baker, Nina Simone-inspired sound. It’s hard to get that sound because you need great jazz musicians.”
“The production is perfect; I’m looking for a few more songs to tie everything together,” she tells the publication, while also letting slip that a cover of the standard “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood,” which was first recorded by Nina Simone. “It’s growing into something I really like,” Lana said on the new album’s direction. “I’m kind of enjoying sinking into this more noirish feel for this one. It’s been good.”
The album was planned to have -
“majestic choruses, beautiful orchestrations, a type of 50s vibe with a bit of soft grunge”
inspiration from Mark Ryden, Fellini and Picasso for more surrealist, colorful songs
verse-refrain composition
a “strong jazzy influence”
“When I started working on the new album three months after Ultraviolence, it first sounded like a Jazz album. Then, in winter, after three quarters of the record were done, we played with muddy trap beats, and tried how they would fit the tracks.”  The instruments used on Honeymoon (x)
