I think the funniest idea in my AU is ten years before Trolls 3, Hickory was making out with John Dory and Grayer before the two got married, he's given Floyd a few kisses at parties, then post World Tour he's borderline a third in Poppy and Branch's relationship, in the way that he's always here and they treat him like a third but they don't have genuine romantic feelings for him

“Somewhere out there, there are photographs of me pinned on a wall in some old bar.” John Dory’s eyes looked distant as he stared out the front window of Rhonda. “Some have Floyd and then some have people I hope you can meet one day.”

“Why are you telling me this?” Branch couldn’t look at John Dory at this moment; as badly as he wanted to. He knew the second he looked at his oldest brother, he would forgive him.

“Those pictures capture some of the worst but best days of my life.” A heavy sigh came from John Dory as he turned to look at Branch. “I was with people I loved. I had one of my baby brothers safe with me. But I didn’t have any idea if you were alive. There is a single picture on that wall of me with the person I love most in the world and someone at one point I loved just as much. It was from the day I came back from the empty troll tree.”

There was a pause. The air was thick and Branch couldn’t help but feel his eyes prick with tears he didn’t want.

“I thought you were gone. So they dragged me out of my misery filled room to make me feel better. It’s the only photograph where I don’t recognize myself.”

so before i get into the hcs i thought i’d tell you all about my oc, rhea! i can’t draw to save my life but i did make a little colour palette thing so you can leave it to your imagination i guess ✌️ so here is the colour palette:

rhea is a pop rock troll, her mum is rock and her dad is pop but before she hatched her mum went missing so she doesn’t know anything about her

her dad raised her as a single dad and met his wife (she doesn’t have a name yet 💔) and when she was 10 and then had her younger sister, raine when she was 12

she loves hiking and going on long walks in nature

she enjoys peace and quiet but is always up for a party

her and raine are polar opposites but despite that they are the best of friends

she’s 36 when she meets jd

so now you know a little about her, time to get on with the Rhea Dory headcanons!!!

they meet at a karaoke party, jd saw her sing and was totally obsessed but he was too embarrassed to admit he had a thing for her, floyd is friends with her cousin who was also at this karaoke party with her so he decides to go over to talk to him & take john dory with him, safe to say, john dory was glad he did because he and rhea really hit it off

they go on little dates around pop village and on their fifth date john dory spontaneously decides to ask her to be his girlfriend even though he hadn’t planned on it, she says yes so they officially start dating

they like to go on late night walks & long hikes together

when she found out he lived on the neverglade trail for a while she fell even more in love with him because it’s always been her dream to go there, jd promises to take her there one day and he sticks to it because he loves her sm

they never get married because they don’t see the point, as long as they’re together, that’s all they care about

they’d only been together for a year when they get there first egg, they have a little girl and name her delilah, she is a total daddy’s girl but takes after rhea more

three years after that they get another egg, another girl and they name her chance, she is a mommy’s girl but has jd’s personality & traits

they regularly look after raine & her husband west’s daughter, meadow, as well as poppy and branch’s kids
