What If Scenario. The Pandemic never happened, but the renovations at Her Majesty’s eventually did. During that time, they put together a concert-like production of Phantom like they did with Les Mis in 2019. Who would you have cast in each part? Feel free to include Ensemble & Understudies
I think I answered something very similar before where I said that I'd love to have had an international celebration, with recent, fan-favorite, or long-running members from productions all over the world given an opportunity to perform and do, like, one song each, along with the then-current cast at the time. So I guess it might be something like:
Phantom: Josh Piterman (London), Ben Crawford (Broadway), Derrick Davis (national tour), Osamu Takai (Japan), Alexander Goebel (Vienna), Colm Wilkinson (Toronto), Peter Karrie (Canadian tour), Peter Joback (Stockholm), Ian Jon Bourg (Germany), Anthony Warlow (Australia), Henk Poort (Scheveningen), Juan Navarro (Mexico City), Hans Peter Janssens (Antwerp), Tomas Ambt Kofod (Copenhagen), Hong Kwang Ho (Seoul), Juan Carlos Barona (Madrid), Sandor Sasvari (Budapest), Saulo Vasconcelos (Sao Paulo), Damian Aleksander (Poland), Carlos Vittori (Buenos Aires), Marian Vojtko (Prague), Stephen Brandt Hansen (Estonia), Ivan Ozhogin (Moscow), Ilkka Hamalainen (Helsinki), Adrian Nour (Bucharest), Nikola Bulatovic (Belgrade), Vladimir Grudkov (Sofia), Jonathan Roxmouth (World Tour), Espen Grjotheim (Oslo), Ben Forster (Greece), Killian Donnelly (UK Tour)
Christine: Kelly Mathieson (London), Meghan Picerno (Broadway), Emma Grimsley (national tour), Sae Yamamoto (Japan), Luzia Nistler (Vienna), Rebecca Caine (Toronto), Teresa DeZarn (Canadian tour), Emmi Christensson (Stockholm), Valerie Link (Germany), Ana Marina (Australia), Joke de Kruijf (Scheveningen), Irasema Terrazas (Mexico City), Inneke van Klinken (Antwerp), Sibylle Glosted (Copenhagen), Kim So Hyun (Seoul), Julia Moller (Madrid), Barbara Fonyo (Budapest), Lina Mendes (Sao Paulo), Edyta Krzemien (Poland), Claudia Cota (Buenos Aires), Monika Sommerova (Prague), Maria Listra (Estonia), Tamara Kotova (Moscow), Sofie Asplund (Helsinki), Irina Baiant (Bucharest), Mirjana Matic (Belgrade), Vesela Delcheva (Sofia), Claire Lyon (World Tour), Astrid Giske (Oslo), Amy Manford (Greece), Holly-Anne Hull (UK Tour)
Raoul: Danny Whitehead (London), John Riddle (Broadway), Michael Maliakel (national tour), Kanji Ishimaru (Japan), Thorsten Tinney (Vienna), Laird Mackintosh (Toronto), Kip Wilborne (Canadian tour), Anton Zetterholm (Stockholm), Nicky Wuchinger (Germany), Alexander Lewis (Australia), Peter de Smet (Scheveningen), someone who's not Jose Joel (Mexico City), Michael Shawn Lewis (Antwerp), Christian Lund (Copenhagen), Son Jun Ho (Seoul), Armando Pita (Madrid), Zoltan Miller (Budapest), Nando Prado (Sao Paulo), Marcin Mrozinski (Poland), Nicholas Martinelli (Buenos Aires), Tomas Vanek (Prague), Koit Toome (Estonia), Evgeny Zaycev (Moscow), John Martin Bengtsson (Helsinki), Florin Ristei (Bucharest), Slaven Doslo (Belgrade), Denko Prodanov (Sofia), Matt Leisy (World Tour), Carl Lindquist (Oslo), Nadim Naaman (Greece), Rhys Whitfield (UK Tour)
Is that way too many cast members? Probably! Are there even enough scenes for each of them to perform together? Unlikely! Did I give up doing supporting, ensemble, and understudies because it was too exhausting? Definitely! Do I even know who some of these people are or if they want to come back at all? Not really!
But you have to admit - it's a huge and very international cast!

Day 2- Lindquist Beach
Sunday, April 30th, 2023
Cody and I woke up at the crack of dawn due to the chickens (again) and a full night’s sleep. We headed down the hill by foot to grab our daily Lattes in Paradise breakfast. The barista at Lattes stole our hearts and actually ended up knowing our names by the end of the trip. After breakfast, we completed our workout routine and got ready for the day. We decided to pack lunch and Cody made some BOMB chicken honey mustard wraps. Once we were all packed up and ready, we decided to venture over to Lindquist Beach for the day. This beach is known as being the secondest prettiest beach on St. Thomas and actually gives Magen’s Bay a run for it’s money. Lindquist does not have amenities like Magen’s such as the beach bar and grill, that’s their “downside”.
Arriving at Lindquist, we were blown away by the crystal blue water. It was a perfect, beautiful beach. There were trees scattered along the back end of the beach where we found some shade. We immediately knew we wanted to bring our family here when they arrived on Thursday. Cody and I enjoyed the beautiful, quiet beach. We encountered the cutest black kitty that enjoyed the shade of our picnic table. We tried to feed him water, but he was really only interested in food which we didn’t have. He looked like a Bert and he was the only stray cat that we encountered that I would want to take home. We had heard from the lifeguard that there was good snorkeling to the right side of the beach, but unfortunately we did not have snorkel gear. At some point in the day, we saw a Caribbean local come out into the water with a floating bar. He went around the beach selling drinks. We heard from the lifeguard that he only comes out on Sunday and uses the tips that he makes to buy the bottles of liquor. He does this for fun on Sundays and his day job was a driver for some heads of the local government.
Cody and I decided we would go out to dinner this night since we had packed lunch and been eating well. Our plan for Monday was to spend the entire day at St. John and then go to dinner that night. After some discussion, we realized that going to a nice restaurant for dinner after a day of beach hopping, did not make much sense. So far, we had only been making it barely 4 hours in the sun each day. We decided that we would go to St. John on the “people ferry” for dinner at Morgan’s Mango. Once we had our fill of Lindquist, we headed home to get ready for our first fancy island dinner on St. John. We called and made reservations for 7pm. This was the only day that Cody and I managed to lay down to try to nap.
We headed over to the “people ferry” where we waited in line to board. They had a pretty cool bar but you had to finish your drink before boarding so we opted not to grab a cocktail. We decided to sit on top of the ferry out in the elements. We met a really cool couple from Nashville, Tim and Alicia. Tim had long hair, overalls, and a dirty cowboy hat. TIm enthralled Cody with his stories of being a good musician in Nashville. Turns out, they were actually heading to St. John for their friend’s wedding. They gave us some marriage advice- never give up/quit on the same day. He told us a story of how he recieved that advice from an older couple in their life and was pleased to pass it on.
Once we got off the boat, we walked and explored the shops right by the port. They had many quaint shops but we did not end up buying anything. We made our way over to Morgan’s Mango for dinner. We arrived about an hour earlier than our reservation time. The restaurant was so cute. It was a beautiful open air restaurant with palm trees and stunning views. The sun was setting and although it was not a clear view, the light shining through the palms was mesmerizing. I ordered a pomegranet martini and Cody ordered a whiskey cocktail. Both of our drinks were so refreshing and tasty. We decided not to get an appetizer, so we just ordered entrees. I ordered one of the catches of the day which was halibut which came with rice and beans. Cody ordered the cocnut crusted grouper. Both of our meals were so tasty. Mine was refreshing and healthy, and Cody’s was tasty and sweet. We decided to order their famous key lime pie to go to eat when we got home. We rode on the people ferry back home and actually saw a couple that had just gotten married on St. John! We sat behind some crazy ladies that were about to go out in St. Thomas. The one lady wore a beautiful white dress that her mother had embroidered colorful patterns on. It was one of the prettiest dresses I’ve ever seen. The night/dusk sky was so gorgeous ferrying back over to St. Thomas.
We came back home and ate our key lime pie, which was the best I’ve ever had! We had another early night and bought our car ferry tickets to head over to St. John with our Jeep the next day.

Monsters: A Companion (Genre Fiction and Film Companions), edited by Simon Bacon, Peter Lang International Academic Publishers, 2020. Info: peterlang.com.
What are Monsters? Monsters are everywhere, from cyberbullies online to vampires onscreen: the twenty-first century is a monstrous age. The root of the word «monster» means «omen» or «warning», and if monsters frighten us, it’s because they are here to warn us about something amiss in ourselves and in our society. Humanity has given birth to these monsters, and they grow and change with us, carrying the scars of their birth with them. This collection of original and accessible essays looks at a variety of contemporary monsters from literature, film, television, music and the internet within their respective historical and cultural contexts. Beginning with a critical introduction that explores the concept of the monster in the work of Jeffrey Jerome Cohen, Jack Halberstam, Elaine Showalter and more, the book takes a broad approach to the monster, including not only classic slasher films, serial killers (Bates Motel), the living dead (Game of Thrones) and aliens (District 9), but also hyper-contemporary examples like clones (Orphan Black), cyberbullies (Cyberbully), viral outbreaks (The Strain) and celebrities (Lady Gaga). Gender and culture are especially emphasized in the volume, with essays on the role of gender and sexuality in defining the monster (AHS Apocalypse) and global monsters (Cleverman, La Llorona). This compact guide to the monster in contemporary culture will be useful to teachers, students and fans looking to expand their understanding of this important cultural figure.

Tracy Meunier - #plant seeds of kindness
Blog Post 1 August 30, 2020
So what do you do when they tell you that you have brain cancer?
I started my career as Executive Assistant to the County Manager (thank you Mr. Allen Charles for having faith in my abilities!) on August 2, 1984.  It was 30+ degrees outside. After work I bought a fan for our 'little house on the prairie'.... Neil & I celebrated!
Tumblr media
Flash forward 36 years - and a career where I was fortunate to serve the community that has given our families such amazing support!
As an accountant, I've always tended to listen to advice - go to professional development sessions focused on building equity......save up for retirement...start a career that allows you to grow!
I made the decision to retire in early 2018. My dad was going through his cancer journey (prostrate cancer that spread in August 2018, resulting in him needing to be hospitalized). My siblings & I had an amazing opportunity to reconnect on a much deeper level as adult children with a man that we admired and adored more than words can describe. And so the new journey began - 11 months at the Barrhead Healthcare Centre and 5 months at Shepherd's Care. The goal remained constant - one day at a time, and to be thankful for each day we had together. We were so fortunate to appreciate the next 496 days together!!!
Tumblr media
At Dad's celebration of life in January 2020, Rev. David Pype spoke of the 'pillars of life':
- to have purpose
- to love
- to be loved (ie. allow yourself to let others help you, which can be difficult)
- to have hope
Flash forward to June 1, 2020 - my new retirement date!
In mid May, 2020, when we were moving cattle to pasture, I started to get dizzy. Having been diagnosed in the fall of 2019 with osteoporosis, I did what any 58 year old would do - I 'google-dr'd it and self-diagnosed as having vertigo!
Because my family doctor had moved away from the community in the fall of 2019, I needed to find a new doctor. Imagine what he must have thought when I told him I might have vertigo!
He was patient with me & suggested we try some tests first. That was my 1st day of retirement - June 1, 2020.
As the week progressed, the dizziness got worse. That Saturday, I changed my self-diagnosis to a wax build-up. I drove myself to out-patients at the hospital. Only problem was that my ears were clear. The doctor suggested a brain scan.
This brought us to June 8 and a call from the Westlock Healthcare Centre. The first scan led them to call in of the doctor for what appeared to be a possible stroke. A second scan was done and results sent to my family doctor.
The next day, June 9, the doctor's office called and asked Neil & I to come meet with the doctor the next day.
To say the news was crappy, disappointing and terrible is an understatement!!!!
The C-T scan showed a growth of approximately 4 cm x 6 cm. The doctor had been consulting with a neurosurgeon from the University of Alberta Hospital. I was booked for an MRI on June 15.
Our world as we knew it felt like it was falling apart! We needed to search for our purpose! Survival mode kicked in!
And so, on June 15, 2020 I had an MRI, which confirmed the tumor. Surgery was scheduled for June 17.
What type of cancer is it? It's called gliobastoma multiform (GBM for short). It's a terminal brain cancer. It's classified as a primary brain tumour - starting within the brain itself. It’s not thought to be caused by inherited genetics or environment - just bad luck! It is incurable and one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer.
Tumblr media
Given the stark reality of our 'retirement time' together - there's 1 thing that cannot be taken away - HOPE!!!!!!!! Hope for research - Hope for successful trials!
It's ok to be feel cheated. To be mad, sad, angry. It's NOT ok to have pity parties.
There's a reason we are faced with the challenges that lie before us.
We need to figure it out - to find our purpose and persevere!
On June 17 I underwent surgery to remove the 'bulk' of the tumor, deep in the frontal lobe of my brain. The surgery itself caused a “retraction injury” to the part of my brain controlling movement on my left side- fortunately after a few weeks of working hard at rehab with the wonderful physio and occupational therapy team at the Barrhead Hospital I was able to use my left arm and leg again!
Tumblr media
Over the summer I have been having radiation treatment paired with chemotherapy – the gold standard of treatment for GBM.
As of August 30, I have 7 more treatments left, before I get to ring the 'bell of glory', signifying that treatment is done (watch for pics on Facebook!)
September 2020 will see a break from treatments; late October/early November will be another MRI to see how the tumour responded to the treatment and map out the next steps.
Unfortunately, the tumor will re-appear – we just don’t know when. Currently, the median time is approximately 14.5 months. However, as mentioned above, we remain hopeful for some positive results of newer trials!
Others who have had GBM include Gord Downie of the Tragically Hip (who greatly advanced the conversation about GBM and helped to 'normalize' it), Presidential candidate Joe Biden's son, Senators John McCain, and Ted Kennedy.
Why am I doing a blog? I'm hoping to normalize the conversation about cancer.
It's ok to talk about it. It may help to find our purpose. Although it’s a terrible disease, it doesn’t need to rob us of who we are or what our purpose is.
As I reflect upon my life, my family, my cancer diagnosis, there are 5 special songs/video’s I ask you to view:
Martina Mcbride In my Daughter's Eyes –
youtube
For my beautiful daughter, Sara, who wrote her Royal College exam in psychiatry on August 26. Sara has dedicated her life to serve others - my heart literally busts with a mother's pride! When I received my diagnosis, Sara and my family put their lives on hold to help me. I am forever grateful. I am excited for them to grow in their lives!
Tumblr media
 2.     Josh Groban - You raise me up.
youtube
For my kindest, gentlest son, Tyler. Tyler is an amazing son and human being. I am so proud of the man you've become!! You have so much love to share!
Tumblr media
3.     The Prayer (One World at Home version) - Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli, Lady Gaga, Lang Lang, John Legend
youtube
In the same manner that psalms are our poems to God, this song is like a psalm to my siblings (and our theme song to 'Lindquist Lane' at our family cemetery in Mellowdale).
4. Courage - Tragically Hip.
youtube
Since my diagnosis, I've developed a link with Gord Downie. I am appreciative of his courage and gratefulness. He was a great poet that taught us lots!
5. I Will Remember You -     Sarah McLachan
youtube
This goes without saying!
What’s the name of the blog?
#plant seeds of kindness
Why the name of the blog?
As far as I go back, my family is a family of farmers.
I am extremely proud of that!
As farmers we plant, we grow, we experience success, we experience failure, we put ourselves ‘out there’, we learn resiliency.
Most importantly – WE NEVER GIVE UP!!!!!!
What's next? I’m hoping to be able to continue on with posts after treatments are done – stay tuned!!!!!
#plant seeds of kindness
I’m looking forward to hearing from you!

Which POTO or Les Mis specific audios or specific actors do you recommend listening to (I'm thinking more recent audios, from around 2018 to 2020)? (this isn't me asking for a gift, it's more like me trying to narrow down my list of trade wants lololl)
I’m going to be honest, I haven’t really listened to any Phantom audios in several months (I tend to focus on videos first), and I haven’t listened or watched Les Mis in... several years now. (I think I’m just collecting it out of habit at this point.) Though that’s probably going to change, because my school is closed for a month and I have nothing to do! Time to catch up on fandom stuff I guess! Get some writing done! Start studying for credentials in subjects that have historically been my weak point!
Anyway, here’s a few audios that are either recently recorded, or were recently released, and which I have actually listened to and recommend. Once I actually get all caught up with the various releases that have come out, I might come back and add a few more, but for now, here’s what I liked:
BrentBarrett, Amanda Huddleston (u/s), Tim Martin GleasonMay20, 2007; Las VegasThrowback to the past, to a production that made just enough changes that it felt like the same show, just with an extra oomph to it! Amanda Huddleston’s Christine is pretty awesome, and this is the only audio I’ve seen of her.
Fred Johanson, Sofie Asplund, John Martin BengtssonSeptember 23, 2017; Gothenburg, SwedenListen to this to get a sense of the Gothenburg production, which I rate slightly above the Helsinki version it was based on. Johanson is a pretty emotional Phantom, and Sofie Asplund has a pleasing voice and sweet nature.
Joa Helgesson, Frida Engstrom, John Martin BengtssonJanuary 27, 2018; Gothenburg, SwedenListen to this other Gothenburg audio to contrast Frida Engstrom’s Christine with Asplund’s (where Asplund is more joyful, Engstrom is more serious and mournful), and also to hear Engstrom sing ‘Wishing’ in Swedish and English.
Tomas Ambt Kofod, Isabel Schwartzbach, Christian LundFebruary 2, 2019; Copenhagen, DenmarkRecommended to hear Isabel Schwartzbach’s nervous, tense Christine with the feather-light voice.
EspenGrjotheim, Astrid Giske, Carl LindquistMarch8, 2019; OsloRecommended to get a sense of the very interesting Norway production, and with a great cast too.
Josh Piterman, Corinne Cowling (u/s), Danny WhiteheadOctober 17, 2019; LondonRecommended for the cast! Despite being quite new to the show and “only” an understudy, Corinne Cowling shows major potential to be a fantastic Christine. Danny Whitehead is a strong improvement on his predecessor, and Josh Piterman is excellent as well.

Její otec mezitím zemřel a její expřítel a bývalý snoubenec propadl gamblingu a zapletl se s místní hráčskou mafií, kterou ona sama z dřívějška zná až příliš dobře. Nedá se říci, že by ji domov přivítal s otevřenou náručí. A to samozřejmě netuší, že se z ní stal kontrakt a oběť na odstřel a na každém kroku ji může čekat jiný zabiják

❍❍❍ TV MOVIE ❍❍❍ The first television shows were experimental, sporadic broadcasts viewable only within a very short range from the broadcast tower starting in the 1930s. Televised events such as the 1936 Summer Olympics in Germany, the 19340 coronation of King George VI in the UK, and David Sarnoff’s famous introduction at the 1939 New York World’s Fair in the US spurred a growth in the medium, but World War II put a halt to development until after the war. The 19440 World MOVIE inspired many Americans to buy their first television set and then in 1948, the popular radio show Texaco Star Theater made the move and became the first weekly televised variety show, earning host Milton Berle the name “”Mr Television”” and demonstrating that the medium was a stable, modern form of entertainment which could attract advertisers. The first national live television broadcast in the US took place on September 4, 1951 when President Harry Truman’s speech at the Japanese Peace Treaty Conference in San Francisco was transmitted over AT&T’s transcontinental cable and microwave radio relay system to broadcast stations in local markets. The first national color broadcast (the 1954 Tournament of Roses Parade) in the US occurred on January 1, 1954. During the following ten years most network broadcasts, and nearly all local programming, continued to be in black-and-white. A color transition was announced for the fall of 1965, during which over half of all network prime-time programming would be broadcast in color. The first all-color prime-time season came just one year later. In 19402, the last holdout among daytime network shows converted to color, resulting in the first completely all-color network season.
❍❍❍ Formats and Genres ❍❍❍ See also: List of genres § Film and television formats and genres Television shows are more varied than most other forms of media due to the wide variety of formats and genres that can be presented. A show may be fictional (as in comedies and dramas), or non-fictional (as in documenta””&ry, news, and reality television). It may be topical (as in the case of a local newscast and some made-for-television films), or historical (as in the case of many documentaries and fictional MOVIE). They could be primarily instructional or educational, or entertaining as is the case in situation comedy and game shows.[citation needed] A drama program usually features a set of actors playing characters in a historical or contemporary setting. The program follows their lives and adventures. Before the 1980s, shows (except for soap opera-type serials) typically remained static without story arcs, and the main characters and premise changed little.[citation needed] If some change happened to the characters’ lives during the episode, it was usually undone by the end. Because of this, the episodes could be broadcast in any order.[citation needed] Since the 1980s, many MOVIE feature progressive change in the plot, the characters, or both. For instance, Hill Street Blues and St. Elsewhere were two of the first American prime time drama television MOVIE to have this kind of dramatic structure,[4][better source needed] while the later MOVIE Babylon 5 further exemplifies such structure in that it had a predetermined story running over its intendevd five-season run.[citvatio””&n needed] In 2012, it was reported that television was growing into a larger component of major media companies’ revenues than film.[5] Some also noted the increase in quality of some television programs. In 2012, Academy-Award-winning film director Steven Soderbergh, commenting on ambiguity and complexity of character and narrative, stated: “”I think those qualities are now being seen on television and that people who want to see stories that have those kinds of qualities are watching television.
