Hello there. I have had this little idea rattling through my brain
A Desmond who has recently run away from his home but have not yet found a place for himself in the wide open world. And – he ends up in Turin, for a while. Going at saving up some money to move further
But – he is still young. Getting a job is one thing, but finding a place to stay that wouldn’t bleed his savings out has been harder. Even more so, if he was looking for a place that wasn’t 50 types of shady
One of his freer days, he ends up stumbling across a small cave. Kind of like the ones we have to push through in new game trilogy. A vertical crack, really. And with nothing better to do, he decides to explore it
The place this crack leads to? The Grand Temple. An earthquake caused that crack to appear, and another one would have originally closed it a year or two later. And while there are no power sourced, here, to activate the temple en large… We do have Origins with its silica that can be found right in the temple, as an example of small-scale power source
It’s a pure stroke of luck, but Desmond manages to activate a small, small section of the Temple. Not enough to draw Juno’s attention. But enough to make it – a place to live? To explore? Maybe managing to somehow to connect to the place with modern tech – again, on pure stroke of luck because who know that sticking a cord to that one spot in the platform that kind of looked like a jack, would work?
Eventually, say, in a year, Desmond has to move on. But in that year? Desmond learns just a little bit too much to not be noticeable as he goes on. Imagine it like the result of regular late-night Google binging. He’d just look up one thing, that leads to another, then to another
Odd things to include:
Desmond could use touchscreen tech straight off once it popped up. Better than anyone else who knew him. Also tended to complain about it being slow
Casually correcting someone in the bar and getting into a deep discussion about some Niche@TM branch of science that was a rabbit hole Desmond spent some time looking through in Temple
Odd preferences in lighting
Tron: Legacy premiere left Desmond with an intense feeling of Déjà vu (the movie aired in 2010)
Desmond probably did not have the intended reaction to Animus
=============================
Additions from teecup:
All this google would totally lead him to be a regular on a lot of conspiracy theory boards. The idea of ancient aliens are the premise of myths and legends will make him have a ‘you annoy me but you give me the weirdest and most interesting questions’ relationship with one of the regular users there (who turns out to be a bespectacled man we all know).
Instead of a cord, maybe the glowly lines recharge his equipment or something like some kind of wireless charging ports XD
All of Desmond’s exploring made him find the thing that makes the ‘ambrosia’ that taste like cardboard. Still, it’s free and he feels full just eating one bar so, even if it’s possible that it’s not all that safe, he still uses it so he wouldn’t have to budget for food. Depending on how big we want the dispenser to be, if it’s small enough, Desmond could haul it out of the Grand Temple when he leaves because ain’t no way he’s gonna let go of that bad boy. Buying food and cooking becomes more like a treat for Desmond. (He also learned how to add seasoning to the Ambrosia so it tastes like… well… seasoned cardboard)
It would be funny if Desmond found the Isu equivalent to a 3D printer and, while the crack isn’t big enough for Desmond to take out say the motorcycle of his dream that is absolutely more scifi than anything out in the market today, he could use it to print really good forgeries like a birth certificate, documents required by school registrars… maybe even money?
In the end, Desmond’s fiddling with Isu tech made him too interested in technology in general and he tried out engineering and computer software classes, half just pretending he was supposed to be there and half actually giving forged documents too good to be found out by current tech and experts. Maybe he even becomes friends with two certain blondes who have issues of their own although he doesn’t stay that long but he definitely made an impact on the two of them.
And with his Frankenstein knowledge of both Isu tech, googling and the few classes he took in various colleges while he does his city-hopping just to be sure no one from his parent’s cult finds him, he starts to be a regular in tech and machinery chatrooms, becoming friends with a certain black-haired young woman who has the weirdest but most interesting ideas that made Desmond’s mind go ‘ooohhh, but what if…’
In the end of all of these, it’s not Abstergo who finds him first.
Nor is it the Assassins.
No.
The first ones to make contact with him and asked if he wanted to fuck society up?
Erudito.

ahaha. ha..
I just had a FNAF Moon nightmare. First person and everything. Which is really freaking weird
Because i do not consume FNAF content. Ive seen the nephew put on some clips and i see fanart occasionally from like TWO people I follow but OTHER THAN THAT... I do not seek FNAF content. I don't know jack shit about that guy XD
But I was on some roof pavillion. At night. Well lit by the moon I guess. With some kind of friend. Who was romantically interested in Moon and knew how to handle him. He showed up kind of unexpectedly and I had to be super careful on how i acted otherwise he was gonna kill me.
So I guess in true monsterfucker fashion, I turned it into one of those romantic rpgs but if i didnt get a favorable reaction he wouldn't dump me i'd just be murdered I guess. (I did this in another murdery monster dream.....😅)
One of the things was i had to keep my gaze down. Either closed or as unobtrusive as possible. I could stare at my hands. It was very first person pov. I dont remember much of the conversation but most of it was led by my friend person.
He wasnt thrilled a stranger was up there unexpectedly so he was hovery in a very murdery but seeing where this goes sort of way.
At one point I was really scared so i just started humming a song. At first the friend warned me to stop (like, nope, he doesnt like that, hes moving in-) ..but then told me to keep going. So I guess he liked it or his curiosity was piqued
I was almost home free and the friend (who i couldn't see, they were at my back the whole time) was like "give us a kiss"
And he like. Licked my shoulder or something odd like that. And then i saw that he was offering up 'cheek' so I pecked him obediently. Without looking.
And that was supposed to signify the end of the visit and the friend disappeared and i try to make my way across the roof... But i sense moon behind me, sneaking up. So i pause. I see his shadow move up against mine-
So I said, still facing empty roof "...can i have another kiss?" Which made him pause.
"....I dont think you could keep up with me. (and something i couldnt hear)" I askes him to repeat, 'cause. Yknow. Deaf. I can barely perceive his voice in the first place.
"........
.....I dont think you could keep up with me. ...i was born dead."
"....oh. I dont know what that does to a person." *twiddles thumbs shyly*
(REMEMBER IM TRYING TO SURVIVE HERE FOLKS 😂 Also I think the hard of hearing part was my brain running AI software and it was struggling to find something to work with lmao. It felt like a bad AI'd Twilight moment...)
Unfortunately (?) This is where plot ends because thats when i start having asthma IRL and start breathing out of my mouth, and I'm lying on my good ear so the accoustics of hearing my own raspy breathing freaked me out of the dream and into consciousness.
Where i find my cat laying OUTSIDE MY DOORWAY ONCE AGAIN. As opposed to the edge of my bed. Where i can see him. 😭
But yeah. That shit was freaky. I'd like to unsubscribe, please. 👆
Also something is making an occassional scratching noise, it think it might be the fan rattling in the next room but there goes any hope of sleeping after this 🫠

AI
Neomodernity and AI
By Jack Trammell, Ph.D.
Something happened this March that shook higher education to its core and changed everything.  A.I. (artificial intelligence) came on like another Pearl Harbor; a shot heard round the world that changed everything.  Some faculty senates even debated stopping the semester early.  AI was already around before this of course, but once every ordinary human could get on Chat GPT for free and try it out for themselves, a mass hysteria swept out of higher education and into the mainstream.  References to Hal (2001: A Space Odessey) suddenly were back in social media and pop culture everywhere, 55 years after the fact.
I tried to be rational about it.  The invention of the camera did NOT (in spite of fears at the time) spell the end of painting or portraiture, or art itself.  Those disciplines remain arguably as respected as they have ever been (and have you tried to find a good courtroom sketch artist these days??)  There are probably more horses alive now in the U.S. than there were when the Model T was released.  Yes, students cheated on assignments this spring using AI, and we used software to try and catch them.  The sky didn’t fall.  Yet.
Some important scientific, theological, and sociological voices are claiming that AI is profoundly different and a singular development in human history.  Some are sounding extremely grave warnings.
For me personally and as a social scientist, AI can seem like just one in a long line of developments that began around 1850 and continues to this day.  It made things like my Roomba and my iPhone inevitable.  But I also believe that something critical changed around 1950.  From sociologists like C.W. Mills to artists like Andy Warhol, a growing reaction to the horrors of the Holocaust and the H-bomb was in the makings that turns out in hindsight to have been a significant bump in the human road to ultimate progress.  We may indeed choose to look back on AI as an inevitable progression of modernity—but if it now has a “life” of its own how can the danger not be real?
Is AI capable of orchestrating a genocide?  Is AI capable of developing a new cosmic weapons system?  Is AI capable of being an evil leader behind the screen of a “fake” human leader?  Its defenders usually say “no” although when you corner them and ask them to define what AI can and can’t do they ultimately say something to the effect that, “the sky is the limit.”  Hmm.  Just the sky??
I will be honest.  I am scared of lots of things—rampant inequality; war; nationalism; greed—it’s a long list.  But now I have to say that I think AI is at the very top.

I was wondering if you'd consider doing a Hotch x plus size reader? Totally fine if you're not up for it! I have this idea where the reader is a tech person like Penelope & she's around the same age. On a number of occasions she'll stay later to finish her work and it's only her & Hotch left. So she starts this cute little friendship where she'll make him coffee before she leaves. That turns into a crush, then she begins to avoiding him cuz she's shy, then he confronts her saying her likes her.
Late Nights
Tumblr media
Pairing: Aaron Hotchner x PLUS!Reader
Warnings: None
WOWWW this is a long one hope you guys enjoy it 🤗💜
MASTERLIST
-----
“You know, working this late should be against the law for single parents” walking in Hotch’s office I shut the door behind me
“You’re working late again?” he looked up from the file on his desk smiling at me
“My stupid systems chose today of all days to act up, I had to upgrade the software and all the fun stuff” placing the extra coffee cup on his desk I plopped down in the chair opposite me
“It’s taking a while to get back online but hopefully I’ll be out of here in the next hour or so”
For the past couple weeks Hotch had been working late nights and I thought that I’d stay back also in case he needed someone to talk too. As a profiler he sees and deals with a lot of gruesome things that would keep a normal person up all night. At first it was innocent, I’d pop in to check in on him to distract him for a bit or make him his coffee when he insists on staying in the office later than usual  but as we grew closer he started opening up more to me. He started talking about the things they saw and did on the case the team had worked on and then we started talking more about Jack and how he’s doing at school, more personal topics
“I know I’m not the most open when it comes to expressing feelings but I just want to say thank you” Aaron took a sip of his coffee before placing the cup down, eyes glued to my frame
“What are you thanking me for?” he smiled and I couldn’t help but swoon a bit. Aaron doesn’t smile much or show us his soft side so it’s nice to see him this relaxed around me
“For being a friend, for working late nights with me and all the coffee” my stomach fluttered as he went on
“The coffee is good” chuckling I brought my cup to my lips and took a sip in order to help hide the blush that heated up my cheeks
“It is, oh I forgot to ask you, Jack has a soccer game this weekend and he insisted that I asked you to be there” he fiddled with his fingers waiting for my reaction
“Of course, I’ll be there”
------
“Of course, I’ll be there. That’s what I told him, oh God what if I’m reading into this too much”
I’m currently pacing the floor of Penelope’s bat cave as we waited for the coroner’s report to come in. My phone buzzed for the tenth time today, looking down at the screen I sighed letting it go to voicemail
“Hotch again? You know he doesn’t smile nor opens up so easily to anyone besides you, I wouldn’t be surprised if he likes you” Penelope got cut off by the ringing phone on her desk
“Speak and be heard oh mighty one”
“Garcia I need you to dig deeper into our victims background” Hotch’s voice filled the room and I immediately sat down
“Sure, anything specific I’m looking for sir?” she started tapping away at her keyboard doing exactly what he said
“We need to find the connection between all three of them”
“Okay sir, I’ll call you back when I have something”
“Penelope wait, don’t hang up” she paused with her finger over the end button looking over at me
“Is Y/N with you?” I frantically motioned for her to say no and thankfully she caught on
“No sir, want me to pass on a message?”
“No, no, uh thanks Garcia” he sounded so defeated and that only made me feel even more guilty. For the past three days I’ve been avoiding Aaron for as much as I could ever since the night in his office, I realized that I was setting myself up for heartbreak. The call ended and she glared at me
“You are hurting that man”
“I know and I feel terrible but I need to put some distance between the both of us”
“He’s in Nevada with the team right now how much more distance do you want?” she deadpanned looking me in the eyes
“It’s complicated alright”
“It really isn’t” she turned back to her set and started working on the case ending our conversation
-----
“Welcome back my heroes!”
Garcia held a box of cupcakes up welcoming the team back as they stepped off the elevator. I stood a few feet behind her smiling at them as they grabbed a cake and filled into the bullpen. I was about to follow behind them when a hand held on to my wrist keeping me in place
“Is everything alright?”
Aaron
“Yeah, everything’s fine, why would they be?” I started rambling removing my hand from his hold, avoiding his gaze
“You say that but I don’t believe you, let’s talk in my office” he opened the door for me and we headed straight to his office. I saw Penelope shoot me a small smile before I entered the room. I took a seat on the sofa as he moved to his desk.
Aaron dropped his go bag on his desk and removed his jacket before joining me on the sofa. He stared into my eyes trying to get a sense of what’s going on, profiling me
“Is there a reason why you’ve been avoiding me?”
“I haven’t been avoiding you sir” I couldn’t help but pick at my fingernails as nervousness washed over me
“Sir? Y/N, it’s just the two of us and yes, you haven’t even returned any of my calls or texts” I wrecked my brain trying to come up with an excuse but I couldn’t
“I know that there isn’t any other way to say this but, the other night when we were in here I had to tell you something but I didn’t know how you were going to take it, I still don’t-” he rambled scratching the back of his neck
“Aaron” placing my hand on his knee I cut him off, he took my small hand in his gently brushing the back of my hand using his thumb
“I like you” he blurted and I froze, my heartrate sped up the longer we sat here staring at each other
Say something idiot!
“Why me?”
Dear God, you should’ve stayed quiet
“What do you mean why you?”
“I’m not your type Aaron”
“What’s my type then?”
“Someone like Emily, brave, courageous, can actually shoot to save herself, skinny, gorgeous” I mumbled the last two hoping he didn’t hear them but he did
“You don’t have to be skinny to be gorgeous and besides, you are perfect, you’re funny, sweet, caring, determined, charismatic, I could go on” he smiled giving my hand a gentle squeeze as we held each other’s gaze
“Most importantly, you make me feel safe” my breathing hitched as we sat here, neither one of us wanting to break the moment
“I like you too Aaron”
------
The referee blew the whistle ending the soccer match and Jack jumped with glee with his team as they were the winners. I cheered and clapped happy for the little boy who scored one of the winning goals as he ran directly to his father. Smiling I made my way over to the Hotchner boys and Jack broke free from Aaron’s arms and rushed over to me
“Good job buddy, you did so great!” wrapping my arms around the child I kissed the top of his head
“Did you see me score?” he pulled back enough to look up at me and I cupped his flushed cheeks in my palms
“I did and that was an excellent bicycle kick”
“Jack!” one of his teammates called him over for a group photo and he ran off. A pair of arms snaked around my waist pulling me flush against the owner, Aaron
“You did great with them” spinning around I wrapped my arms around his middle
“I did the best I could with a group of ten year olds”
“Thanks for coming it means a lot to me and I know it does to him too”
“No need to thank me, I had a good time listening to chatty Cathy to your left go on about how hot you look in those shorts” he laughed pulling me in closer to him
“Join us for dinner tonight, it’s been a while since he’s seen you and it’ll be good to have you around more”
“Sounds like a plan” pushing myself upwards I kissed him and he immediately responded. I swear I was about to explode from the electricity that flowed through my body from having his lips on mine
We were so wrapped up in our moment that we had forgotten about the crowd of people that surrounded us until they started wolf whistling and cheering us on. Breaking apart my face became heated from the blush that overtook my cheeks. Aaron looked down at me with a boyish grin clearly enjoying the moment
“How’s that for our first kiss?”
“Not quite what I was expecting”
“C’mon let’s head back to my place” taking my hand in his he called out to his son and we headed to his car. The both of them quickly fell into conversation and I must admit, seeing Hotch domesticated has got to be the hottest thing ever
The bond that these two have is very special and I can’t wait to share more moments like this with them

twitter likes should we know?
Twitter's origins lie in a "daylong brainstorming session" held by board members of the podcasting company Odeo. Jack Dorsey, then an undergraduate student at New York University, introduced the idea of an individual using an SMS service to communicate with a small group.[25][26] The original project code name for the service was twttr, an idea that Williams later ascribed to Noah Glass,[27] inspired by Flickr and the five-character length of American SMS short codes. The decision was also partly due to the fact that the domain twitter.com was already in use, and it was six months after the launch of twttr that the crew purchased the domain and changed the name of the service to Twitter.[28] The developers initially considered "10958" as a short code, but later changed it to "40404" for "ease of use and memorability".[29] Work on the project started on March 21, 2006, when Dorsey published the first Twitter message at 9:50 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST): "just setting up my twttr".[4] Dorsey has explained the origin of the "Twitter" title:
s Angeles Lakers' victory in the 2010 NBA Finals on June 17,[48] and then again at the close of Japan's victory over Denmark in the World Cup when users published 3,283 tweets per second.[49] The record was set again during the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup Final between Japan and the United States, when 7,196 tweets per second were published.[50] When American singer Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009, Twitter servers crashed after users were updating their status to include the words "Michael Jackson" at a rate of 100,000 tweets per hour.[51] The current record as of August 3, 2013 was set in Japan, with 143,199 tweets per second during a television screening of the movie Castle in the Sky[52] (beating the previous record of 33,388, also set by Japan for the television screening of the same movie).[53]
Twitter acquired application developer Atebits on April 11, 2010. Atebits had developed the Apple Design Award-winning Twitter client Tweetie for the Mac and iPhone. The application, now called "Twitter" and distributed free of charge, is the official Twitter client for the iPhone, iPad and Mac.[54]
From September through October 2010, the company began rolling out "New Twitter", an entirely revamped edition of twitter.com. Changes included the ability to see pictures and videos without leaving Twitter itself by clicking on individual tweets which contain links to images and clips from a variety of supported websites including YouTube and Flickr, and a complete overhaul of the interface, which shifted links such as '@mentions' and 'Retweets' above the Twitter stream, while 'Messages' and 'Log Out' became accessible via a black bar at the very top of twitter.com. As of November 1, 2010, the company confirmed that the "New Twitter experience" had been rolled out to all users. In 2019, Twitter was announced to be the 10th most downloaded mobile app of the decade, from 2010 to 2019.[55]
2011–2014 On April 5, 2011, Twitter tested a new homepage and phased out the "Old Twitter".[56] However, a glitch came about after the page was launched, so the previous "retro" homepage was still in use until the issues were resolved; the new homepage was reintroduced on April 20.[57][58] On December 8, 2011, Twitter overhauled its website once more to feature the "Fly" design, which the service says is easier for new users to follow and promotes advertising. In addition to the Home tab, the Connect and Discover tabs were introduced along with a redesigned profile and timeline of Tweets. The site's layout has been compared to that of Facebook.[59][60] On February 21, 2012, it was announced that Twitter and Yandex agreed to a partnership. Yandex, a Russian search engine, finds value within the partnership due to Twitter's real time news feeds. Twitter's director of business development explained that it is important to have Twitter content where Twitter users go.[61] On March 21, 2012, Twitter celebrated its sixth birthday while also announcing that it had 140 million users and 340 million tweets per day. The number of users was up 40% from their September 2011 number, which was said to have been at 100 million at the time.[62]
In April 2012, Twitter announced that it was opening an office in Detroit, with the aim of working with automotive brands and advertising agencies.[63] Twitter also expanded its office in Dublin.[64] On June 5, 2012, a modified logo was unveiled through the company blog, removing the text to showcase the slightly redesigned bird as the sole symbol of Twitter.[65][66] On October 5, 2012, Twitter acquired a video clip company called Vine that launched in January 2013.[67][68] Twitter released Vine as a standalone app that allows users to create and share six-second looping video clips on January 24, 2013. Vine videos shared on Twitter are visible directly in users' Twitter feeds.[69] Due to an influx of inappropriate content, it is now rated 17+ in Apple's[needs update][70] app store.[71] On December 18, 2012, Twitter announced it had surpassed 200 million monthly active users. Twitter hit 100 million monthly active users in September 2011.[72]
On January 28, 2013, Twitter acquired Crashlytics in order to build out its mobile developer products.[73]
On April 18, 2013, Twitter launched a music app called Twitter Music for the iPhone.[74] On August 28, 2013, Twitter acquired Trendrr,[75] followed by the acquisition of MoPub on September 9, 2013.[76] As of September 2013, the company's data showed that 200 million users sent over 400 million tweets daily, with nearly 60% of tweets sent from mobile devices.[77] On June 4, 2014, Twitter announced that it would acquire Namo Media, a technology firm specializing in "native advertising" for mobile devices.[78] On June 19, 2014, Twitter announced that it had reached an undisclosed deal to buy SnappyTV, a service that helps edit and share video from television broadcasts.[79][80] The company was helping broadcasters and rights holders to share video content bo
...we came across the word 'twitter', and it was just perfect. The definition was 'a short burst of inconsequential information,' and 'chirps from birds'. And that's exactly what the product was.[30]
The first Twitter prototype, developed by Dorsey and contractor Florian Weber, was used as an internal service for Odeo employees.[31] The full version was introduced publicly on July 15, 2006.[13] In October 2006, Biz Stone, Evan Williams, Dorsey, and other members of Odeo formed Obvious Corporation and acquired Odeo, together with its assets — including Odeo.com and Twitter.com — from the investors and shareholders.[32] Williams fired Glass, who was silent about his part in Twitter's startup until 2011.[33] Twitter spun off into its own company in April 2007.[34] Williams provided insight into the ambiguity that defined this early period in a 2013 interview:
With Twitter, it wasn't clear what it was. They called it a social network, they called it microblogging, but it was hard to define, because it didn't replace anything. There was this path of discovery with something like that, where over time you figure out what it is. Twitter actually changed from what we thought it was in the beginning, which we described as status updates and a social utility. It is that, in part, but the insight we eventually came to was Twitter was really more of an information network than it is a social network.[35]
The tipping point for Twitter's popularity was the 2007 South by Southwest Interactive (SXSWi) conference. During the event, Twitter usage increased from 20,000 tweets per day to 60,000.[36][37] "The Twitter people cleverly placed two 60-inch plasma screens in the conference hallways, exclusively streaming Twitter messages," remarked Newsweek's Steven Levy. "Hundreds of conference-goers kept tabs on each other via constant twitters. Panelists and speakers mentioned the service, and the bloggers in attendance touted it."[38] Reaction at the conference was highly positive. Blogger Scott Beale said that Twitter was "absolutely ruling" SXSWi. Social software researcher danah boyd said Twitter was "owning" the conference.[39] Twitter staff received the festival's Web Award prize with the remark "we'd like to thank you in 140 characters or less. And we just did!"[40]
The first unassisted off-Earth Twitter message was posted from the International Space Station by NASA astronaut T. J. Creamer on January 22, 2010.[41] By late November 2010, an average of a dozen updates per day were posted on the astronauts' communal account, @NASA_Astronauts. NASA has also hosted over 25 "tweetups", events that provide guests with VIP access to NASA facilities and speakers with the goal of leveraging participants' social networks to further the outreach goals of NASA.
