#It's just that it takes too long to lineart in that style 'cause I'm kinda specific with my line weight

Adding on to the Undertale I guess-
Um, Grown up AU! Don't ask why they're all similar ages, they just are. In the Au, da kids did too many resets, glitched the timeline and somehow pressed the reset button all at the same time. Somehow, all of them became corporeal and most of the characters have been age-swapped! (As in the kids are adults and the adults are now kids) They now have to adapt to the new environment but don't worry, they're adjusting well...mostly
Chara is NOT the captain of the royal guard in this AU. (I'll let you guess who it is) but they ARE Asriel's right hand and know very well how to fight.
Frisk is the diplomat between humans and monsters (I think the barrier gets broken at one point in the au idk) but don't underestimate them cause, while they prefer to use words, they still know how to kick ass.
Blow the trumpets and make way for the king of monsters...KING ASRIEL DREEMURR!!! (If you couldn't already tell, he's kinda my favourite-) Mans has his cool glowing swords and fireballs but sadly does not have his lightning, comets or giant blaster skull thingy. Mah furry boi can still smash your face in though. Btw, on his shirt in the middle pic, it says: 'King Fluffybuns Jnr.' that you bet Frisk & Chara got for him.
For Frisk, I'd figured they'd be more adventurous with their style (they can absolutely rock feminine and masculine) with some more sporty wear but main style is still comfy. I wish I could've made their work wear more detailed, but I still couldn't think of much. I headcannon that they like to buy a bunch of pins and patches to just stick on their clothes. They get the others some pins and badges to but they're not that into it. They still wear some badges though.
In the game its kinda a trend that kids wear striped sweaters and I gave the stripes to Frisk since I think they're the most childlike in this au. Nothing derugatory, just more excitable, cheerful and playful.
As you'll probably have noticed, I gave Chara an Undercut and long hair. I just wanted to give them a different look to Frisk and I really like the beanie but again, they look almost too much like Aimsey. There's nothing wrong with that but looking back, I feel like the two have similar asthetics and the beanie made them look way too similar. I gave them combat boots cause that's cool and a different pattern on their sweater? Overalls? Overshirt? Idk.
I didn't really do much with Azzy other than give make him taller, give him a silghtly yellow beard, made his horns much bigger and gave him a different pattern on his sweater. I imagine him taking care of the flowers now and gave him a less armour heavy king outfit that his dad cause I'd assume he'd be less likely to go to war on the humans.
Chara and Azzy kept the same colour palette cause I think it might take them even longer to adjust. I mean, these two were dead for centuries, one was an apathetic flower who committed mass genocide and the other was basically forced to commit mass genocide. I'm not pinning the blame on anyone but I think these two in particular still have a lot of trauma to overcome.
But they still have each other don't worry.
Umm, in terms of my style, I tried thicker lineart in some areas. It's most prominent in Azzy's design I think so let me know what you guys think.
Will I be drawing the rest of the main cast? Idk, probably not but who knows?
Idk what to name the au, maybe you guys can leave an idea?
Until next time my lovely marshiemallows!

How long do you typically spend on a drawing? Of the ones you've posted, which took the longest? Which was the quickest?
Hi, thank you for the question!
Short answer: anywhere from 30 minutes to like 12 hours
Long answer;
It really depends. I can whip some cute ones in like 20 minutes, others I draw through multiple days.
Depends on the style and the amount of detail. This is an example of a 30 minutes one:
Tumblr media
Only one character, no background, simple shading. I would say 10 minutes for figuring out the pose I want and sketching it, 10 minutes for lineart (maybe a bit less) and 10 minutes to color and shade it.
When I draw without lineart, with this more messy, paint-esqe style, it's also pretty quick. 10 minutes to sketch, and the rest is basically color and shades at the same time.
Tumblr media
This took me about an hour and a half to make, the shoes and the skateboard being the most difficult parts cause of the shapes, they had to be pretty even even in this style.
When I'm messing around with different styles or techniques, it often takes longer due to trying to figure out what I want certain aspects of the drawing to look like. For those two, the first took me close to 3 hours despite it being pretty simple - I was experimenting with drawing fire and I spend a solid chunk of time on just redrawing it over and over again. The other one was my first time drawing with different brushes and it took me an embarassingly long time to learn how to keep it under control. I would say it took like 6 hours to finish it.

The drawings I spend most time on are those with proper backgrounds. I like to draw the backgrounds separate from the characters, so it means I make the whole background even when it's mostly covered by characters later, like this drawing:

You can kinda see what I'm talking bout here!
I drew that over a few days, so I don't really know how long it took.
Those times are for drawings themselves - I sometimes spend even longer on looking up references and poses. Sometimes I want to draw byt don't know why so I just go on different stock image sites and look up random things in hopes of finding inspiration.
I think the pieces that take the most time I never post here, cause they are for my DND campaign and I don't know if anyone would be interested. For example, this is Hattie Lykaia, a tiefling owner of an alchemy store. Coming up with the design for the character and for the space took a lot of te and I had like fourteen aketches before commiting to this version. I would say total time was about 10 hours, I couldn't figure out the colors to save my life.
Tumblr media
The stained glass took forever. I never want to draw stained glass again.
One of the things I enjoy most but never share here is character design! I don't really know what I'm doing most of the time but I love making rough concept sketches, like those:
Tumblr media
Despite being messy and all, they take a long time! Looking up things, figuring out the shapes and colors... Me and my brother watched five movies in a row while I was making this ones. So yeah, despite the drawing itself being quick and messy, the whole process takes me a while. But it's really, really fun.
Thank you again for asking! I hope this wasn't too long or too boring but I just really love talking about my drawings and the process behind them. My irl friends have to deal with me showing them every stage and they're probably sick of it lol. Good thing they're really nice and will always pat my head and tel me I did a good job anyway

some drawings of the beans with experimental styles! i'm not too happy rn with my art cause it either a) looks weird with too much soft shading or b) takes waaaay too long
thus, style shenanigans. you can use these as icons if y'all want, just be sure to tag me!
analysis for myself under the cut:
Aubrey: slightly thicker lineart with hard edges and inked shadows; half-painted shading with harder edges
+ combination of graphic contrast and painted strokes which looks awesome to me
+ QUICK!! very fast and easy to do, took like 30 minutes
+ works well with airbrush effects while preserving sharp edges
+ so much room for color shenanigans
there are no cons i love this one
Basil: thin penciled lineart with detailed coloring and shading
+ textured and full of detail
+ highly conducive to airbrush effects and shading because the details make up for the loose shading
+ it just looks really pretty and intricate
- takes. so much time. too much time.
- cannot be paint bucket filled easily at all
Kel: semi-simplified lineart style with hard shading and strong focus on color vibrancy
+ great result with the near-lineless look
+ very vibrant and colorful
+ graphic vibes, which i like; seems to be from the simplicity of the lines and shapes
- few issues with contrast and the whole image feeling a bit dull
- takes VERY LONG to do the whole colored lineart thing, along with just coloring in general
- doesn't work super well with airbrush effects because of the low contrast
Sunny: old style with airbrushed shading and thin minimal lineart
+ works well with airbrush effects and layer modes
+ easy to paint bucket fill
- lineart isn't detailed enough to accommodate for airbrushed parts; looks blurry and lazy
- not much room for color experimentation and difficult to shade without layer modes
- takes kinda long to do
Hero: slightly thicker lineart with soft edges and transparency; painted shading and color
+ beautiful painted textures...
+ open to color expermentation
+ also easy to line
- more difficult to ensure contrast due to softer edges
- takes a long time to color
Mari: loose thick "lineart" with round brush painted coloring
+ extremely open to color experimentation, i can mess around with this as much as i want
+ very fast lineart
+ works pretty well with airbrush effects
- coloring takes a while cause it's painted
- may not work as well for more "realistically" lit pieces

How long does it take you to do a video usually? I'm just consistently blown away by the quality of them and it's just insane to me that you've been posting one every few months considering the amount of work going into them. Did you sell your soul or something??? It's impressive as hell whatever you're doing
tysm!! I’ve been getting faster at them which is p nifty, they used to take me quite a while. tho you also gotta factor in that im spending a lot more time at home cause of the ol pandemic so I’ve had more time to work on them lately
the hollyleaf amv took the longest (which makes sense I guess, its the longest vid I've made and also I was still a new to animating, more than I am now anyways lol) in aug 2019 to june 2020 so about 10 months
my bluestar pmv took ~4 months workin on and off (mid august to late November ish)
I started thrushpelt p soon after in December and finished in early feb which surprised me cause that was REAL speedy fsjkdlh (I think it was cause the lineless style meant I kinda . combined the colouring and lineart stages into one stage so it was one less stage I guess?? and also I really really enjoyed working on it and that makes it go faster too)
Essentially it kinda depends on style, length of video, how experienced I am, the free time I have, and how much I enjoy the project haha; but they seem to average around 5 months ?

Hiiii!!! I really love your kiribaku fanarts...I've seen that you also draw haikyuu art as well and i'm thrilled to found this out :) (since I'm kinda new here.) have you heard the news that hq!! s4 is confirmed in sept?
I have!!! I wonder how far in they’re gonna get with adapting the manga in it, cause the current arc is being !!!!!! hhhhhhhhh !!!!!! but it’s definitely too much to ask for this game to be adapted in s4 already haha I’m especially hype for Daishou, Hoshiumi and Kita to be animated >:]c
Anon said:Hey!! I love your work!! But I’m curious, how long does it take for you to draw + color what you post? Like on average?
Thank you!! And that really, really depends on what I’m drawing/how much effort I’m putting in/how good I’m feeling about drawing while drawing, so I can’t easily say! For a full colors piece it goes from two or even just one hour (when it’s characters I’m used to draw in simple clothing with no bg/easy poses or anything equally easy) to over two days of constant work (lotsa characters or a character I’m not used to, complex clothing, a huge background, things like that) - the single page illustration that took me the longest to ever finish was my extra piece for the sixth wheel zine and that one was something like five or six days of constant work!
I tend to be very sloppy with what I make though, and my style was built to let me be as fast as I possibly could cause my attention span is minimal orz I’m working on that !!!!
Anon said:I really love the way you draw it’s so beautiful
Thank you so much!!! TTOTT
Anon said:Happy New Year’s! Your art really inspires me to be an artist, so thank you. I’ve only recently discovered your blog, but whenever I see your art it makes me really happy!
Oh man that makes me so happy to hear?? I hope you’re having all the fun in the world with your art!!!!
Anon said:I’m excited to see more luca and nico I’m not ready for their cuteness 🥰
I wanna draw more of them toooooooo !!!!!!! maybe soon!!! I’m so happy to hear you’re excited about them
Anon said:Any tips for lineart, bc mine literally looks like pixels
It would seriously be easier for me to help you if you could tell me which art program you use and which tools, ngl! I don’t really know what you mean with “looks like pixels” since from my experience the only ways to make the lineart look like pixels is to either use the binary tool or to zoom in on the drawing further than 100% (but in the second case it should stop being a problem once you save the drawing anyway) - like this the only tip I can give you is to switch tools around a bit to see what looks best for you! I use Easy Paint Tool SAI as a program and my lining tools are either the default brush tool or (lately) the default pen one, both with sizes between 4px and 6px - it’s really basic tools really! If you’re asking how to make your lines look smooth, then that changes from artist to artist and the best thing I can tell you to do is to keep trying different ways till you find the one that works best for you (again, yes) - my way is to try and interrupt the line while lining as little as I can, which implies a lot of ctrl+z and drawing the same lines over and over again till they look right orz you get faster at it the more you try, at least haha
Anon said:I just saw the drawing of your OC, Dave (I love it and I love him) and I was wondering where you got the inspiration for his shirt? Did you create it or is it actually a design you’ve seen before? Because I love it! I hope you have a nice day! :D
Ah, I made it up myself! He likes cats and he likes music so I mixed the two haha I’m glad you liked it, though!! And I’m glad you liked my boy, too!!!
