I think it’s interesting to hear that Daniel’s daughters don’t keep in contact with him anymore, because I feel like he’s being built up as a “mundane” version of all Louis’ mistakes — Louis has an ex-lover he nearly killed and a daughter he grabbed by the neck and now has a strained relationship with. Daniel ‘just’ has a couple of divorces and his daughters aren’t in contact, but it’s the same deal at its core — their closest relationships have all fallen apart for various reasons across the years.

And now they’re both stuck in the same place: alone with each other, hashing out their issues, while Armand is in charge of them both and basically their only outlet to the outside world. Which makes them both verrrrrry vulnerable for whatever chaos is gonna happen next season.
