Engage did not have a bad story. Just bad reception. It’s story was different but still used the tropes we expect from a fire emblem game, it was just celebrating the franchise history and doing so in a goofy way by making the tropes their most ridiculous yet. The story isn’t bad, people just disliked its different tone.
