Jojo Main Villains Ranked on If I want to Be in a Room With Them:
solely based off of my hatred for Funny Valentine <3
Dio (PB version):
i think if i respected his weird and fucked up rules I'd be fine, like i think he would probably try to murder me at least once but i think id let him?
solid 7/10, would join him on his expensive little lounge
Kars (wiki says hes the main villain, very sorry Judah):
i think he'd wager my life over a game of chess or smth, i would lose because i simply do not have enough braincells, but i also wonder if i'd be pitiful enough that he'd just ignore me?
5/10 hes very buff and intimidating
Dio (SDC version):
id be one of the bodies on his stairs and id accept that fate
6/10 im fine with my blood drained
Yoshikage Kira:
hes normal i think around like hour 10 of being stuck in a room one of us would snap and he'd either admit to murder or i would concern him enough with whatever cursed knowledge that he would murder me
would also probably bite my nails sheerly to spite him
9/10 the best jojo villain to be stuck in a room with
Diavolo:
i think being stuck in a room with someone would drive him also to murder because he can't really hide his identity in a room with someone, but i think he would murder me for accidentally turning my camera on when trying to turn my phone screen off
also think he would murder me if i started chanting dilf at him, like i think it would either damage his pride or deal psychic damage
7/10 i think minus that he would be not the worst to be stuck with?
Enrico Pucci:
ok so i think he would either start preaching in general or preaching how dio is great, potential toss up that he would start singing church hymns, i would lose it and start screaming, he would either take my discs or my life
5/10 hes a murder machine and very violent i love him
Funny Valentine:
idc if he's buff i think id either maim him by biting and then dying from rabies or some illness or i would download tiktok to spite him solely and blare my phone volume very loud to two trucks on repeat for 7 hours
alternatively he would murder me or do something freaky like ask me to lick him
2/10 i would enjoy seeing him listen to material girl for 20 hours straight
Tooru:
i think we would listen to music together and then id irreparably damage his headphones, then i think i'd hand him a windows 95 pc with barely any ram, delete system 32, and make him install linux manually
he would probably try to lunge at me and murder me and then succeed
4/10 i would only emotionally distress him by calling him a poor lil meow meow for hours straight only stopping to call him every single name on a list of 350 nicknames for men

BlackLotusX: Why DirectX?
I was presented with a response to my last post, and I wanted to address it
Wow, that's quite a journey you made there. You're probably settled right now, but in case you aren't: You can use modern OpenGL just fine, gpu-side it's basically the same as D3D11. The APIs are both horrible in their own way, though: OpenGL is a state-ridden mess with invisible cross effects, while D3D11 is a COM massacre where refcounting regularily gets in your way. I followed a Vulkan tutorial recently, though, and let me tell you that: it's HUGE. The API is clear and nice, very explicit and direct, but the amount of stuff you have to get right in order to see anything on screen dwarfs everything I ever saw before. Do not go for Vulkan if you're not planning to spend weeks on basics. D3D12 is even worse, as far as I know, because it combines the complexity with the COM mess some parts of Microsoft still seem to favor.
There's nothing in this reply I can refute, as this is all completely accurate. However the reason I've settled on DX is two reasons, one is personal, one is a bit more practical The practical reason is two fold: 1. that simply I'm uninterested in targeting non-microsoft platforms at this time. I've used engines that let me easily target different platforms and each time it's the same story: 0 - 1 downloads on mac, 0 downloads on linux, 99-100% downloads on windows. The portability effort just hasn't been worth it. and 2: I aim for Win10 and Xbox which both make use of the DX Api natively.  If I wanted to target Nintendo or Playstation they both use their own graphics API (Gnm/GnmM for PS, and NVN for Switch) that would need to be specially targeted for. So it makes sense to hunker down with D3D for the time being considering my targets The personal reason is simply, well, a really personal one. When I was about half way done high school, I came across a full spread ad in my edition of Game Developer Magazine that was about DirectX 8.0, and featured this artwork
Tumblr media
Let me tell you, my imagination went wild as it was the first time I had ever considered rolling custom tech, instead of modding existing engines. It was also the first time I had even considered learning C++ proper (instead of tweaking values). Life took me in a very different path though. I went to college for animation, and wound up in a career in web development, and these past couple years has seen me re-explore my inner game developer. Started with the Unity, went to Unreal, and now im rolling my own. Every step along the way, I would occassionally google search "directx tutorial" in google, see the daunting amount of work needed to get anything on screen, and would walk away simply because I wasn't really in the right mindset. Now here I am. I am very established in my career in web, very confident in my skills as a web engineer, but now with my laptop in hand with a 1050Ti built in, and a car power adapter to power it, and an unlimited data plan for my mobile hotspot.. I've been using the hours my wife and kids go shopping at a time and running around outside of the house (as the driver) to hunker down in my van and get to work. The majority of Black Lotus has been built in that environment, and it's been a wonderful learning experience.  But this is where I've discovered I finally have some time to be productive and really learn this stuff I've always fantasized about. Getting familiar with DirectX will literally be a bucket list item checked off   And yeah I'm both aware and incredibly intimidated by what D3D12 has in store for me 😂  which is why im starting with 11 for this little game, hoping it'll get me used to the DX way of making games enough to where experimenting with D3D12 concept in the later stages of development wont be *quite* as daunting (Though I fully expect to be questioning life choices in the middle of my research phase LOL)

happy 2017 !!
since i havent posted here in a while i just wanted to say. things are pretty great. that last post forms out of something that ocurred earlier, which im not really gonna go into much detail about. (basically shite arising from-now irrelevant nobs)
things have been great indeed! anxiety has been on the low. 2017 has started off quite nicely. I noticed ever since leaving university I been resorting to alcohol quite a lot, almost like an addiction was about to form... I seemed to have learnt my lesson in the end after getting alcohol poisoning about a week or so ago, and believe me it was messy. I also started getting pains and all sorts of aches from my insides so I feel like cutting down on the alcohol would do me good.
i havent touched alcohol yet, I do plan to like next week but I do wanna cut down, not completely stop. its quite doss being a dropout actually. i can study the things I actually wanna study and not have to pay a fortune for it! ive been doing a little online course regarding Linux fundamentals and whatnot, since networking is the career path I want to take... and i know its kinda scummy but im also on universal credit, but thats only to help what this university shite debt has gotten me into. im more-so looking for apprenticeships rather than a career, as a more realistic target.
ive got a couple interviews, one ive already done and one in tamworth that i’m going to on tuesday! im excited. the first one went very well and I have high hopes, hopefully the same applies for the interview on tuesday.
in terms of stress and whatnot, i havent really been stressed recently. ive had soooo much confidence boosts since dropping out, after realising, truly, how pathetic some people can be! some of the things that satisfy some people really does make me laugh. ive been way confident with myself, as well as loving myself too because thats very important! thats my main source of confidence at the moment. my secondary source for confidence comes from a punk band you may know as The Clash, particularly lead singer joe strummer and just the music by the clash have helped me dramatically in the past couple months. ive become kind of a fanboy x_x oh and as weird as it is... ive also gained confidence out of some personalities of people ive seen on tv.. particularly like characters that aren’t real. weird, but if it helps then it helps :D
another source of confidence is knowing how lucky i am to have such a great boyfriend. he really does try his best to help out, sometimes it doesnt work but he is very smart and knows what he’s talking about. sometimes i underestimate the words he says. i really do need to listen to him more, after all, he is my boyfriend. he has helped me with confidence, supporting me with things im saying and helping me find my style and just keeping me positive daily! being able to make each other laugh and entertain each other. its great.
also kinda finding a style that i like. like a fashion style. I think style is important when it comes to feeling anxious or non-confident when going outside. some styles i feel cute but not intimidating and i dont really like that... i like to look quite intimidating, adds to my confidence.
yeah, 2017 has gone off to a great start. im seeing nothing but positivty this year, both academically and mentally. of course, its not gonna be all positive, but the best thing to do is make do with whatever shite you get. happy 2017! x
