Hello hello! Been a while since I've posted my art on tumblr, (though I HAVE still been lurking the whole time) so I figure I'll start by posting some of the sonic covers I like the most from the main ongoing comic series!
I've been pushing my character proportions to feel more like the rubbery sa1 proportions for the past year and a half, so lately I've been more satisfied with how I'm drawing everyone.
Finally caving in and posting this comic after leaving it to rot in my gallery. Drew this throughout the semester and it was mainly for practice drawing comic pages so that’s why there’s such a big style change. It’s cringy I know lol but it’s just supposed to be a cute little sonadow beach comic cause why not.
Maybe more parts in the future? (I already have some pages drawn….)
Ahh so EXCITED to finally be able to talk about this one!!
My cover for IDW Sonic 59 (releasing 3/29) 🦔
Can't thank David Mariotte and Riley Farmer enough for letting me take a shot at making a traditionally painted cover
I told the IDW team that I always wanted to do a mock Renaissance painting for a cover someday, and this issue inspired me to go for it. I took lots of inspiration from classic paintings, and also specifically from "The Fallen Angel" by Alexandre Cabanel for Shadow himself.
I did the thumbnails and pencils digitally (easier for notes) and then used a mini projector to project the image onto a canvas, and transfer the pencils before painting the rest of it with acrylics.
I took lots of videos of the actual painting process, so I'll have to put those together sometime soon.
