sorryf im being mentally ill about hallucination event right now SO in the LCSyS au, would there be something like it :o? Like after all of it's over or something, how crazy would it be if Jackalope tried to get them all together just to do one last concert?
Never apologize for being mentally ill about Milgram content 😌👍 We are all in it together 😔👍I'm combining this answer with a reply to @kikithedeceiver (and spiraling out of control from both)
Tumblr media
I've had a lot of ideas about the project being public in LCSyS, but was holding off including it for few reasons – the audience’s voices would conflict with Es as their own character. Knowing the public was watching would change the way the prisoners acted (even if they thought they were acting natural). It’s a long time that the families would have to deal with the public knowing about their loved one’s almost-crime. I also like the idea of this au ending with the prisoners returning to very normal lives.
Buuuuut it is such a fun idea, and popularity seems an essential part of an actors au. So, I’m not naming this as canon, but here’s a pitch if you liked that idea and wanted to run with it :3
The team doesn’t tell the participants that they’ve been recording/collecting certain material to release. If a translation is left out by accident, the prisoners just assume it’s for a foreign team member – they have no idea how close/far Milgram reaches.
The third trial begins. The prisoners are inside the prison, and on the final stretch of the trials. On the outside, Jackalope contacts families for signatures to release the material publicly. The team thought about censoring names and things, but seeing current fans’ investigation skills, they knew it was a matter of time before they put pieces together anyway. This may be super illegal but for the sake of the story I’ll say that family consent is enough lmao.
Some of them are easy to convince to sign off on everything, since it can raise awareness for their loved one’s struggles. Muu’s family takes the longest, as it would risk ruining their reputation. (They’re only swayed because it truly is a great opportunity to show off Muu’s talents for those modeling scouts, and she didn’t actually kill anyone in the end.) Kazui’s family refuses to release his info, but Hinako uses sway with her marital status to sign off instead (I pictured things happening fast enough where she hasn’t gotten an official divorce yet). Hinako still struggles with what he did, but she thinks he’s doing something incredibly brave now. I’m not 100% sure what’s going through Amane’s father’s mind, but if the murder really was in line with the cult’s beliefs, maybe he believes that Amane will be be a shining representation of their religion. He wants to show her off as their little golden child.
The experiment is published in its current form: music videos, voice dramas, timeline conversations, interrogation questions, etc. It’s brought to more than just science/psychology circles, though. Jackalope has no shame in marketing it as entertainment, hence the stockholders mentioned. He assures the sociologists that this will be a major breakthrough for them. He tells music labels he's got the new hit thing for them. He leans into the excitement of releases and merchandise in the hopes of gaining attention for the experiment. Needless to say, it works. Even though the audience has no sway over Es’ decisions, they are encouraged to make decisions for themselves on what they would judge each prisoner. There’s the same types of theory/analysis/discourse posts passed around.
When the trials end, the prisoners are released into the world to find they’re famous. Instead of trudging back to their lives feeling that society hates them, they find tons of adoring fans telling them how much they understand and forgive them. Even if their final verdict was guilty, they have hundreds of voices assuring them that they are loved. That they are not alone. This attention really helps Haruka, Amane, (and maybe Es) who don’t have a good home to go back to. Not only can they reenter society, they are welcomed with open arms. They are looked after and showered in love. Some of the adults realize they want to use this popularity to lead the charge of social change. They create/support projects meant to help people who are facing their struggles.
And of course, there’s the other type of fame as well. Yuno loves answering fanmail and turning her karaoke hobby into a music career. Kazui goes from a life of feeling rejected and disgusting to scrolling through comments upon comments of men oogling him. Mahiru gets offers from fashion magazines and blogs to write up sections about self-love. Amane gets to live out her dream of being a performer, hinted at in her first two mvs. Fuuta is flustered by all the positive attention his appearance/voice is getting. Mikoto… well, I just wish him luck when he opens tiktok…
Which brings us to the live event! The prisoners have tried to keep in touch while adjusting to their new lives as almost-murderers-turned-idols. They’re amazed at how well-recieved the trial songs were. Those were some of their most personal, shameful secrets, and people relate to them? People love singing them?? People want a concert featuring them??? Jackalope encourages them to get together for one last encore. Some are thrilled with the opportunity, others are still nervous about the whole thing. Some think it’s in poor taste, that Jackalope is milking them for entertainment. But with a bit of conversing amongst themselves, they realize they all want a chance to sing like that again, and see each other in one place again. (It’s ironic because in my head Mahiru is the one to convince everyone to come ;--;)
It’s strange putting on the uniforms again. Es is unsure about putting on their guard’s cloak. But the minute they stop onstage, they’re met with wild applause. They can sing their fears and dreams to a huge crowd and see in real time how it’s reaching others. They hear the cheers after each song. They hear that it’s streamed all over the world. All of them have an absolute blast, and pour their heart and soul into their performances.

I dunno where to say any of this, so I guess here's here it's going to be said. Long ramble ahead.
I don't like badmouthing or mocking others' honest work. I get that "honest" in this case is subjective, but if someone's earnestly tried something with no malice, even if I don't like it, I won't publicly bash it. It's generally good policy, and it keeps me from judging others too harshly.
It's when the work becomes dishonest where I have an issue.
Right now, Kotaku is trending on the Musk Hole. Someone pointed out that it's incredibly petty for one of their writers to complain about not getting Nintendo games to review, and then to publish an article talking about all the spoilers that are coming out from Tears of the Kingdom. Not that it happened, but an article outlining stuff that people are uploading online.
And they ain't wrong. That is petty. And very bad for business in the long run, even if it gets people angry enough to engage with the social media posts today, or curious enough to see if they'd actually write it (they totally did, and you should avoid that article if you want to avoid being spoiled on TotK).
But here's the thing, there's an army of blue checkmark chuds sitting there bashing the site. And they're... not right, never right. But in this case, Kotaku is wrong.
It used to be that someone saying a bunch of negative things about that site was a wonderful signal that at best that person was someone you wouldn't want to talk to. But now? It's becoming more and more of a legitimate opinion.
And I'm starting to think it myself.
If I'm honest, I've been thinking it for a long time.
The editing and fact-checking have been not great for at least a few years now. The content has gotten less relevant and more yellow as time goes on. They hemorrhage good talent while opting for people who can write dishonest clickbait.
Some of it I get. Coming from someone who's done video game journalism in the pre- and post-GG worlds and even the pre- and post-SEO worlds, it's rough out there. Enormous corporations are increasingly the source of content, and they're always looking to cut costs while maximizing profits (and the C-suite's egos). It's long past the point where legitimate journalism is pushed aside in favor of recycled nonsense. I've also written said recycled nonsense for a content farm. It's soulless, but it's the only realistic option for many people in this generation.
So yeah, things were great when Jason Schreier was putting the heat on video game companies with his investigative pieces, and Brian Ashcraft was writing features about Japanese video game culture, and Mike Fahey (RIP) was being his fantastic self. But they're the last in their line who will ever get paid by a company to do that.
In other words, there are people who may have been brilliant video game journalists, with great ideas and great writing and great work ethic, with amazing sense for what people want to read and how to write fair and entertaining articles. If they don't have a known name already, they'll never get the backing that people of their talent and skill have had in the past, and if you recognize their names at all, it'll be because they write all those annoying listicles you keep accidentally clicking on Facebook ads for.
So yeah, Kotaku probably sucks for real now. Corporate content culture is certainly part of that. But publishing articles like "Here's What Leaked in that Game Everyone Wants that Comes Out in Two Weeks" for outrage clicks is a massively disappointing low.

I want to ask about the relationship between aesthetic attraction and romantic attraction... does one have to be aesthetically attracted to someone to develop romantic feelings for them? or are the two totally unrelated? (this is super confusing sry
I'm ace & romantically attracted to my best friend (goodness this is so cliche) and don't really care how she looks. But I feel strong aesthetic attractions to artists/stars. Like, the attraction's stronger if I'm familiar with their works, but sometimes it's just the looks that appeal. I do feel weird that ppl develop romantic feelings towards celebrities...or ppl they don't know well about in general. I also feel kind of guilty for not caring about my friend's beauty when I'm aesthetically attracted to total strangers.
Thanks for reading this! Your blog has been a primary source of support since I realised I'm ace. Best wishes to you and all the aspec ppl who're reading this!
It’s one of those things that vary from person to person. For people who experience both types of attraction, some people do need to experience aesthetic attraction to experience romantic attraction, some experience them both together at the same time. Some experience them completely separately, and for some people it can vary.
Some people can only experience different types of attraction separately, so they’ll never be attracted to the same person in more than one way. And some people experience different types of attraction very differently.
So yeah this is a lot of words to say that it’s totally normal for you to be experiencing romantic attraction and aesthetic attraction to different people. I’d also like to add this is something that’s completely outside of your control, so you’re not doing anything wrong not being aesthetically attracted to your friend. There’s also a lot of things to appreciate about a person other than just how they look. And I’m sure there’s a lot of things that make your friend really special and interesting you do care about.
And thank you so much, and all the best!

Twitter is exploding with furries dumping the galaxy brain take "if you're alterhuman and you've ever drawn NSFW of yourself as your species then you're a #zoophile" and I am thiiiiis close to straight up picking someone up and throwing them directly into the ocean. It's such a phenomenally bad take. Discussion about it below the line, because I don't want to spam with a long-ass post.
Like, I'm guessing the disconnect is different definitions of what "zoophile" means, where in the alterhuman communities it's generally (though not always) used more to mean someone who supports bestiality, engages in bestiality, or publicly aligns themself with people who do such without necessarily vocalizing their stance on the subject politically. Meanwhile the (Twitter) furry community--judging from the reactions on hellsite 2.0, at least--seems to define "zoophile" as closer to someone who is attracted to any depictions of non-humanoid creatures. So things like traditional monsters (ex. dragons, werewolves, centaurs), modern fictional 'species' or characters (ex. sparkledogs, pokemon, Simba), and extinct/extant species (ex. Tyrannosaurus rex, giraffes, ladybugs, oak trees) depicted in NSFW art of a sexual nature all falls into the "zoophilic" category by furry standards, but the alterhuman communities don't really have a solidified perspective on such because we just don't operate in the realm of fictional content in that way. (A part of me wonders if that uber-broad definition of "zoophile" is why the furry fandom struggles so much with its missing stairs in real life spaces, like the bigger conventions... it's hard to focus in on people who are causing harm to other real people and animals when you broaden your definition of what constitutes as "harm" to such an insanely large degree.)
It's the difference between how content is treated by an identity group in comparison to how content is treated by a fandom. For a (non-alterhuman) furry, what you've drawn is a character, and that character is taken as a reflection of what you desire as a human. So if you draw, say, a minotaur, you're interpreted as wanting to fuck minotaurs within this scenario. But for the alterhuman, there isn't a distinction. That's not a character; it's them. That's them, or otherwise reflective of an internal, integral part of their identity, and it's not something they can just switch on and off.
And the justifications the furry fandom uses in its own spaces just fall flat when you bring them out against alterhuman artwork featuring the alterhuman in question.
1) "It's normalizing sexualizing nonhumans!" doesn't work for several reasons, most notably because the alterhuman community is so immensely small. It's quite literally impossible for our community to have a wide-reaching, substantial, lasting effect on the world around us. We do not have the capacity to change norms on such a massive level as to change the public zeitgeist around porn and if someone thinks that, they're genuinely stupid. More than that, it's a miniscule subset of a small community we're talking about here: not every alterhuman can draw or wants to draw NSFW of themselves, and of those that do, it's much more likely they're not going to publish their work to public spaces, further removing any chance of horny alterhumans somehow magically encouraging every American to decorate their house in Bad Dragon horse cocks, or whatever else "normalizing sexualizing nonhumans" might mean.
2) "Nonhumans can't consent!" doesn't work either, because...the nonhuman in the picture is the one who drew it, so clearly they do consent. (Even iif n this case it's just that they consent to be depicted in a specific NSFW way, because we also have to acknowledge that fictional kinks don't always transfer over to what people would be interested in IRL.) This also applies to the "Drawing NSFW of nonhumans is the same as drawing child porn!" argument; if the adult artist is depicting themself then...that's automatically not child porn, by definition! That comparison makes no sense, and I don't get why it ever even gets brought up.
3) "It's a red flag, it means you want to sexually abuse nonhumans in real life!" Aw yeah totally, let me go spank my fucking jalapeno plant to go get myself off (/sarcasm). That's not true anymore than someone being more likely to go on a school shooting spree because they play GTA, first off, and second off, what nonhuman does the art of themself prove they want to 'abuse' by that logic? Themself? (Honestly, this reeks of the same sort of anti-kink rhetoric aimed at people who engage in BDSM and are told that they're "abusing themselves," and this also doesn't even make sense within furry contexts, given that some of their community's most well-known zoosadists and zoophiles have all had anthro fursonas.)
All in all, it's a fucking stupid argument to even be having, and I'm facepalming over the Twitter furries even starting it. The real harm that we see going on in alterhuman spaces isn't happening on the pages of someone's horny personal comic about them and their medusan polycule; the problems are coming from the people who are harming actual living animals and who are encouraging others to do similar. And those are missing stairs our community is actually working to fix and deal with in a lot of spaces, which I'm damn proud of. We still have a long way to go and we're definitely not perfect in our perspectives all the time, but it's a hell of a lot better than just nonstop flailing around and crying wolf over something as stupid as some rando's private artwork of themself.

blue bag- jay park
genre: fluff, angst, bad boy au
tw: street violence, mentions of gangs
-------
Jay's reputation at Belift wasn't exactly a secret to most people. The loose uniform with the leather jacket, covered bruises, and exposed tattoos were noticeable to anyone who bothered to pay attention.
Most people would like to assume to not judge him by his appearance, but his character matched it to a tea. He never bothered to give anyone the time of the day, much less even look in their direction. The only people who received such privileges were his closest six friends.
Or anyone who dared to cross his path- including the slight punches he's thrown at the occasional classmate.
But people couldn't see behind his intentions. Like the time he almost beat one of uppers to a pulp when they tried picking on jungwon his first year. All good intentions.
On this fateful day, the teacher had thought a slight change would mix things up. Instead of placing Jay in the back by himself like usual, he placed him right beside you.
"Hi Jay!" Your warm welcome startled him to say the least. Sure, he was used to love letters by other girls, but you didn't really look at him that way.
He stayed silent and placed his head back onto the desk. At the end of class, you bid him goodbye and walked out with your friends who seemed to tattle over him almost immediately.
-------
After yet again another argument with the rivaling gang leader, he finds himself cornered in the back of an alley way. Maybe it wasn't the smartest idea to think you could fight five men at once.
Tired, and out of breath, he's barely holding onto himself before there's a final blow to his lower stomach, collapsing onto the ground before him.
The men are about to approach him, this time, aiming towards his back, but retreat at the sounds of a siren.
"Here, hurry! They might come back." He looks up and finds it's you, carrying a bag in one hand and reaching out towards him with the other.
"Get lost." Jay, who is too stubborn to ask for help, attempts to get up before his knees give up on him.
"You can't walk. Stop being a bitch and let me help you." You swing his arm over your shoulder, and pull him up, guiding him towards the exit of alley way. At the closest convenience store, you rest him on a bench, bringing a towel to his face to wipe off the blood from his brow and lip.
"How did you see me?" He barely manages to ask.
"I didn't know it was you until I saw your face, which is very beat up by the way." He observes quietly and patiently waits for you retreat the towel from his face, slowly admiring the way you move your eyebrows while humming a small beat.
“I’m done. I’ll call a taxi to take you home so you can finish up. I’m going to assume this isn’t the first time you get beat up.” Jay, snapping back to reality, stands up quickly and blocks your view of the street.
“I can manage. Now go home.” He nods towards the direction of the grand city.
“You can barely walk. Either I take you home, or text someone to come pick you up.” Jay immediately takes the second option, and searches quickly for his phone before realizing he must of left at it home.
“Go ahead, call the taxi.” He mutters under his breath. The bright lights signal to him that he has arrived, and in silence, you drop him off, and leave, not letting Jay even look back and say a quick ‘thank you.’
-----
If Jay didn’t know any better, it’s almost as if nothing had occurred yesterday. He’s still wearing his black mask to cover up his bruises, but you walked in with a smile and the same welcome from the past two weeks.
Usually, he would turn the other way or not even bother to look at you, but his slight nod was reassurance enough.
At the end of class, he was almost the last to leave, given that he had woken up from napping the entire class. Rather than seeing the empty room he was used to waking up in, he saw you again in front of him, holding a blue bag.
“Here. Eat well okay?” You left the bag onto his desk and walked out again before he could respond. He stuffed the bag into his backpack and went towards the lunch room he was used to meeting his friends in.
“Jay’s late and beat up. What a surprise.” Sunoo’s snarky comment doesn’t catch him off guard, and instead pulls out the blue bag from his backpack and rests it on the table.
“Oh? Jay brought lunch? Quick, let’s rate his cooking skills.” Before Jay can react, Heeseung had already snatched it from the table, pulling out a Tupperware with a sticky note on top.
“Who’s y/n? And why did she call you a loser?” Heeseung asks, opening the container to a bento box.
“No one, now give it back.” Jay takes back the container, almost admiring the contents inside.
It was the first time his heart began to take notice of you.
-----
Everyone was quickly suspicious about Jay’s relationship with you. It all started with him publicly going to you and thanking you for the food. Then it was the constant good mornings when you would welcome him at the beginning of class. Then it was the morning coffee, and walking you to class in the morning. He was practically stuck to you when he wasn’t with his friends.
“You know, I think Jay likes you.” One of your friends mentioned casually, causing you to roll your eyes.
“Stop taking those rumors too seriously, he’s just paying back a favor.”
Yet, your friends weren’t the only ones who were beginning to notice. Most noticeably, Jay’s very own friends.
“Sunghoon, I don’t like her, so can you shut up?” Jay, almost irritated by the constant confusion of emotions.
“So, you wouldn’t mind her being so close with Sunoo?” Jake points at your direction. You laughing and trying to hold yourself together while punching Sunoo in the arm.
“No. Of course not." Yet, he still finds himself burning holes into Sunoo's skull as he sees you wrap an arm around his neck to pull him into a head lock.
It seemed as if that was the last straw because in the next moment, Sunghoon was attempting to prevent Jay's next big mess.
"Get your hands off him." Jay commands, catching not only your attention, but those around him as well.
"Relax Jay, she's just playing around." Sunoo gets himself out of the head lock, and looks at your face who's been cleared of any laughter.
"I'll see you later Sunoo." You can't even look at Jay in the eyes before walking off with another friend.
"What's wrong with you? You know she wasn't hurting me!"
"Don't talk to me right now Sunoo." Jay storms off in the opposite direction while Sunoo turns his head to the side at Sunghoon.
"Am I going to die?"
"Not yet anyway. I think if you stay off y/n, maybe it'll extend your life line." Sunghoon states honestly.
"What do you think would happen if I told him she's my cousin?"
"I don't know but I've never seen Jay so..like this. Its a good look on him."
However, Jay is his full fledged rage, begins to shove everyone in his way including a poor freshman who happens to fall in front of your locker.
"Jay what the fuck!? Are you okay?" You crouch down and reach your hand out, giving Jay a bitter feeling.
"Is this how you catch men? You pretend to be the good guy?"
"Excuse me?" You repeat, shocked at Jay's sudden attitude.
"Nevermind just stay away from me? Got it?" You don't even process the words before he dashes off, ignoring his friends who are attempting to catch his attention.
"Sunghoon, what's his issue ?" Sunghoon only let's out a heavy sigh before shrugging his shoulders.
"It's not my business, but I can assure you that anger won't end well."
-----
And it just so happens that Sunghoon's response was quiet accurate considering Jay's familiar situation. He's been long enough member of his gang to know what territories they're not exactly welcomed.
Yet, he doesn't care and does so anyway because anything is better than having to imagine you with some one else.
"Haven't seen you in a while Jay, must have been busy hmm." The leader mocks him, but it only infuriates the pent up anger within him causing him to land a punch at his gut.
"Don't test me." And as if history repeats itself, he finds himself once more cornered in the back of an alley way. With the collection of bruises forming on his stomach, one could tell he was a kick or two away from a good surgery.
"Jay! Stop!" He curses himself mentally when he watches you run towards him.
"You better leave pretty one...I mean unless..." He approaches you, reaching for your chin to tilt it sidewards, leading to Jay using his last strength to push him off you.
"Don't touch her." Jay grits his teeth, earning a smirk that quickly turns into a frown at hearing the sound of police sirens.
"You got lucky this time." He flees the scene leaving you again with a bloodied up Jay.
"You promised me to not fight anymore!" Jay chooses to ignore you and limps away to a nearby post.
"And I told you to stay away from me y/n. I don't need people like you to worry about me because they pity me" He responds.
"How am I not supposed to worry when you left so suddenly? One moment we're good and the next you're mad at Sunoo and everyone?" You place him on the stair case while getting your first aid kit ready.
"How am I supposed to stay away when you worry me? Do you have any idea how fast I ran here with this when Jake told me you weren't at your house?" You continue to apply a bit of alcohol on his open cuts.
"I'm sorry, I was upset. I saw you with Sunoo earlier and I don't know what came over me. Sunoo is so darn perfect, and what about me? I was afraid you'd leave me." Jay mumbles the last part quietly, but you manage to hear it well.
Without much hesitancy, you press a light kiss onto his bruised and swollen lips. He gasps slightly but manages to wrap his arms around your waist.
"I'm not leaving okay, I'm here to stay if you want me to." Jay grabs you and pulls you in for a hug, resting his face in the crook of your neck.
"Please stay." He mumbles, letting his grip on you get stronger. He stays there for a while, before looking at the blue bag in your hand.
"What's this?"
"I brought some dinner because I figured you would be too lazy to do it yourself and end up eating frozen nuggets again." He smiles slightly before admiring your features.
"I really like you y/n.." Jay confesses, still in the position of hugging you.
"I like you too Jay...I really do." A grin forms on his face and he drops another kiss on your cheek before leading the way out.
Perhaps Jay wasn't exactly perfect, but you always knew he was more than ready to love and learn by your side.
------
a/n: this has been sitting in my drafts haha, but I figured we could all use a little fluff with everything going on :( <3

The most embarrassing thing you've ever read in a fic?
I'm sorry this took me so long to answer, nonnie. In truth, I was so taken aback by getting an ask of this nature that I truly didn't know what to say. I racked my brains trying to think of a response, and finally realised I neither have one nor want to have one. Because why would I want to identify something I've read in a fanfic that embarrassed me?
People—people just like you and me, nonnie—have put their everything into creating fic, hours upon hours of researching, writing and editing to get their writing to a point where they are okay with posting it online. They have flayed themselves open, and possibly revealed their innermost kinks, all for free, and with no obligation for anyone to read. So who am I to come along and point a finger and say "ewww, embarrassing"?
We all have different tastes, interests, and motivations (as both writers and readers). It's one of the wonderful things about being part of an active, diverse fandom that's rich with content and talent. I am 100% positive there are things I have written and put out there that are not to everyone's tastes, including my closest fandom friends. And similarly there are fics I've read that I've not been able to finish for one reason or another. Two of the main tenets of positive fandom behaviour are: DL;DR (Don't like, don't read); and YKINMKBYKIO (Your kink is not my kink, but your kink is ok… or kinktomato as it's lovingly known). Taken together they boil down to: If it's not your thing, backbutton out and jog along. This is KEY.
I can't figure out the motivation behind trying to get a content creator to publicly shame or snigger at someone else's writing, even if it's done 'vaguely' or 'anonymously.' What purpose does it serve, save for brief, momentary titillation? And the more lasting effect of hurting or angering a writer out there, who might stumble upon an answer to an ask such as this and recognise their words being held aloft as an example of something embarrassing or disturbing or laughable.
The HP fandom and the Drarry fandom are communities, and if members don't participate positively in their community, it will break apart and ultimately cease to exist. If we foster a culture of mocking, judging or sneering at other's writing, toxicity will thrive, insecurities and anxieties will grow, and suspicion and mistrust will flourish unchecked. It's hard enough to avoid schisms forming without publicly grimacing at lines we've read in fic.
Let's CELEBRATE the lines in fics that we adore, that have made us gasp in awe, melt in a puddle, laugh hysterically, or fan ourselves desperately. There is so much talent in this community, it's breathtaking.
I'll start... with this gorgeous line:
‘Draco’s earliest memories of childhood were blurred along the edges with the passing of time, specifics of days lost to him, but still he could close his eyes and remember the smell of his mother when she gathered him into her arms. Peonies, crisp satin, and the fresh pears she adored, cut with a mother-of-pearl fruit knife and shared with him in tiny bites; comfort, and cold love, and pride.’
- Hue and Scent, by @shealwaysreads. The scent descriptions in this fic are unbelievable. This is just one of many beautiful, lush, redolent lines. Plus I love this glimpse into the life of Narcissa and smol!Draco. 😍
Would love to hear other people's. What lines in fic have stuck with you?

Hello, i hope you have a good day ! I read your post for really sad scenario and, sorry in advance for your poor heart, could you do, please, a scenario with Fuegoleon who have to accepts that Nozel is dead because he disappears in a mission two months ago ? And he comes back a little times after that in the house ? And act like if all was normal ? (I actually don't know if you're going to find it sad, but me yes, maybe because i'm hyper sensitive XD )
First of all: Q.Q
Second of all: Sorry for the long wait, real life kicked my ass.
Third of all:
It isalways difficult to adapt to changes. The extremer they are, the harder it isto uphold normality.
Sometimespeople start to take up to new habits to try to do so.
As forLeon, he started to stay up late, staring out into the night, counting thestars, hoping to find something new.
Also, hemade a habit out of lighting a few lamps on the outside before he heads to bed, making it easier to land at night.
Other thenthat he sucked up every kind of information, every rumour, every lead thatwould lead him to his goal.
Finding outwhat happened two months ago.
At first,it was all he could think of, driven by immense guilt and grief. He neglectedhis works, his looks, his life.
“How can Ineglect it, if my life was taken from me?” He’d answer to all who came to scoldhis behaviour.
He was seton finding it again
Finding himagain.
NozelSilva, his partner, his significant other, who disappeared 2 months ago withoutanybody knowing where he went. It was supposed to be a dungeon conquering mission, probably taking some time, eventually dangerous. Reports came back in steady rhythmsfrom the Captain, but suddenly nothing. All contact broke off and nobody couldfind any trace of them.
The publicthinks of him as dead. Deceased in the line of work.
At firstLeon fought them publicly, he believed in his lover’s strength and abilities. He couldn’t believe that people could ever think of something like that.
Then he startedto get anxious. Weeks went by without a word. Nozel disappeared into thin air,not even Julius was able to make him out. It was like his Mana left theKingdom, and all the others, too. He was still hoping for Nozel to come back,to just land at their home and be there.
He wastired and at the same time restless, he couldn’t fall asleep without thefamiliar body next to him. He couldn’t go about his days the same without thesnarky remarks, the little tiffs and spats, the intelligent eyes, the raresmiles.
He couldn’tstand human interaction at this point. He felt judged and pitied wherever hewent, so he relieved all personnel of their service for an undetermined amountof time.
A monthwent by, and books about eagles started to collect dust. He felt like he did, too, so he started to take up his work again.
Another weekpassed, and he started to collect the Silvas left behind clothes and storedthem, so they wouldn’t be eaten by moths.
Anotherweek, he was barely there at the meeting of the captains, where they discussedwho would take over the order of the silver eagles.
Anotherweek, and a proposal from the House of Silva came in, asking him if he wouldlike to help planning the former Heads funeral. If he would like to hold theobituary.
About twomonths had went by since all contact to Nozel Silva had vanished, and Leon wasadapting to his life without him. He wasn’t happy nor that hopeful, and he couldn’tleave the letter with the proposal left unanswered much longer. But still…
He wasstill going out to the roofs, looking out for a sign that Nozel would come back, like he did in his dreams. He was still lighting the lamps, so Nozel could safelyland when he would come home.
His heartstill hurt when he tried to fall asleep without him.
The peoplearound him were trying to talk him out of these new things, they wanted him tobe normal, like he was before. He understood their concern, but he couldn’t letgo entirely.
Well, atleast so he thought.
Anotherweek went by and he caught himself slipping. He neglected the lights and staredat the proposal longer. He was intently pondering about what to do, whatdecisions to make.
He did soright now.
He sighedand leaned back. His eyes were strained from reading the letter for what musthave been the 1000th time already. He knew every word by heard, butit did not lighten the weight of its message. His own family had given theirhopes up, and they wanted to move on already.
He wasn’t surehow long thy were going to wait for him to be likeminded, but he did know thathe would never forgive himself if he wouldn’t honour his beloved by beingpresent at his funeral.
This would be so much easier, if Nozel were hereto give me advice…
He blamed thesudden burning in his eyes on the strain. He had cried enough for a lifetime inthe last two months, especially given that he wasn’t build that close to thewater.
He took adeep breath.
It’s time to decide.
Over two months no signs, no messages…
But also, no bodies found
He could be alive, but isn’t it more likelythat he’s dead?
He would have come back to us… to me.
This will never come to a conclusion, will it?So, I should be so kind and offer his family, his knights, his kingdoms andeven myself an end to this painful hoping. They deserve their peace, as doeshe.
In the morning, I willanswer the Silvas.

He hadn’t realized,he’d fallen asleep in his office chair, so he was confused at the uncommonsurroundings when he woke up.
Than heremembered why he had woken up in the first place.
Theentrance door fell into the lock.
There wheresounds coming from the ground floor, and Leons heart started beating.
There stillwas no staff, he was the only living being in the building at the moment, Mereowas out in the woods still and Leo had to be at the order. It was long pastcurfew.
Well, asidefrom the worlds most stupid robber, it seems.
Who thinks of breaking into the house of acaptain while he’s still there? Do people really think of me as so vulnerableright now? Well, I will show them what happens when you wake a lion.
He silentlyfollowed the noise and found the source currently wreaking havoc in the kitchen. At least it sounded like that.
He took hisgrimoire out and started to look for an appropriately intimidating spell, thatwould not damage his furniture too much.
He thenentered the kitchen.
He was metwith a mess, ripped open packages, open drawers, a robbed fridge.
He made outa pair of legs in ripped clothing rummaging through the cupboard where theteacups were stored, upper body and head hidden behind the opened door. The burglarjust continued looking through his stuff without a care in the world.
Leon felt nerveson his forehead twitch in irritation.
‘You haveten seconds to explain your presence here. And also, what exactly are you doinghere right now?’ He all but yelled at the busy bee trying to fid somethingworthy to steal.
Themovements halted, then a head looked out behind the door.
It wasfamiliar, even though it lacked the usual hairstyle.
‘Well, asfar as I can remember, I live here, but that doesn’t seem to account foranything, because I also remember employing servants, but apparently none ofthem are here right now. Due to that I am making myself a sandwich and some tea,but I cannot find my favourite cup it seems. You wouldn’t remember seeing itanywhere, no?’
Leon juststared at him in shock.
Nozel wasthere, while he was supposed to be dead
And he’s looking for a teacup?!
Unable toreact appropriately to all the annoyance and confusion and happiness inside of him, he took a seat at the ruined kitchentable.
‘Leon, haveyou seen my cup now? Leon?’
He can’t be real. This is just my brain messingwith me because I can’t handle the fact that he’s dead.
He felt awarm hand on his shoulder. He looked up and was met with the concerned face ofhis dead Love. He grew a stubble.
‘Dear, areyou okay? You look awfully pale. Do you want me to call a doctor?’
This is my mind telling me I’m needing help, isn’t it?
He smiledat the familiar features and wanted to run a hand over them, wanting them to bereal, but he was afraid he would wake up from his sweet nightmare.
‘I havegone mad, I am afraid. Are you my consciousness?’
Nozel furrowedhis brows.
‘A doctorit is then. I shall go fetch one first thing in the morning, but right now youshould go to bed. Maybe you can sleep it off, whatever it is.’
‘You can’tsleep when you are already dreaming. You should know that, we share a brain.’
TheNozel-who-couldn’t-be-Nozel took a step back.
‘Or I’ll goget a doctor right now. But nice to know that I am an object of your dreams. ’
Nozel grabbedone of the things he called sandwiches and started to eat. Leon couldn’t believethis normal, well nearly normal, sight.
‘Of course,I have dreamed of you. For two months now, maybe more. Even before that, if I amhonest, but those were dreams of a different nature. The last dreams were allabout you being exactly like you are right now. Home, Alright, Uninjured andjust…not dead…I-‘
Leon’svoice broke and he felt tears well up. This was just cruel.
Nozel stoppedeating his monstrosity and looked up in confusion.
‘What do youmean I am dead?’
Fuegoleonlooked back at him, equally confused. Nozel went over to him, now slightlyirritated.
‘I asked, what do you mean, when you say that I am dead.’
‘Well, thatyou are dead. You disappeared two months ago while being on that Dungeonmission, and nobody could find any remains of you, nor a sign that you werealive. You were declared weeks ago. I- I was asked to hold a speech at your funeral. And now I am imagining you being here to deal with the fact that you are longgone.’
Nozelsshock and disbelief at his current official status was plain to see on hisface, but he also was hurt, seeing his partner at such a loss.
He softlycupped the Vermillions face.
‘So if I amdead-‘ he said while inching his face closer to Leons ‘-how come I can do this?’
And then hekissed him, showing him how much he missed him and just how very, very real hewas.
When he drewback to catch his breath he looked at Leons face. The latter hadn’t opened hiseyes yet, but Nozel could make out the tears caught in the eyelashes, and hehad the urge to kiss them away.
So he did.
The administrationson his face filled Leon with a warmth he thought he had lost forever.
‘What- Whathappened? Why did you take so long?’ He asked quietly.
Nozel, whohad halfway crawled into his lap already, still caressed his face while he toldLeon about his mission.
‘Well, itwas a normal Dungeon. It took me about two weeks to reach it, and a bit less toget back here, it was very well hidden in one of the grand magic zones. I justwanted to step into the entrance hall to get a feel for the place, but apparently,I fell victim to a spell cast on it. I stepped in in broad daylight, felt themana of the place and went out again, only to find that it was already night-time.Then I decided that this was either a time manipulating or mind-altering magic,so I headed back here to talk over my findings with the emperor. This sort of spellis way too dangerous to deal with alone. But, as I promised you, I wanted tocome home first, eat something, check up on you, all that. And here you are, thinking I am dead and telling me the one day I thought I lost-‘
‘Wasactually nearly two months.’ Finished Leon the sentence.
Nozel feltLeon’s arms sneak around his middle, pressing him close in a make-shift hug. Helooked at the head pressed against his stomach and smiled. That must have beenquite a hellish experience for his man. He didn’t want to think of what he hadbeen going through, thinking he was dead and all.
Reminds me…
‘Hey Leon, howdid everybody react to my death? I am kind of curious.’
He got noanswer.
‘Leon?’
A trademarksnore erupted from the sleeping man, who still had him in his clutches. Nozeltried to loosen the Grip, but it had the opposite effect. So, he settled to takinga more comfortable seat and wait for him to wake up. He kissed the top of theother’s head.
He must have been very tired.
Better to let him sleep.
Then heyawned.
I should, too.

'I feel anxious, but I'm ready': Inside Australia's abortion clinic of last resort

(Supplied: Marie Stopes ) Map: Melbourne 3000 The journey to the Marie Stopes clinic in Melbourne's east is a harrowing one for the 200 or so women who go there each year for a procedure denied to them elsewhere.

Background BriefingWhy late surgical abortions are denied We go inside the only clinic in the country where pregnancies can be terminated between 20 and 24 weeks. By the time they reach the building, sitting behind a car park on an unassuming suburban street, they have likely been turned away by multiple doctors and hospitals. And until the Victorian state government banned the practice in 2015, there was a very real risk of encountering anti-abortion protesters at the entrance. To walk through the doors of this clinic is to have exhausted all other options, a doctor who works there told Background Briefing. "Not a single one of these women will make that choice lightly," said Dr Herbert, who asked that her first name be withheld. "Who are we to judge unless we're in their shoes?'' The abortion debate is so divisive, even medical professionals pick a side. Many refuse to perform the procedure on religious or moral grounds. But there are no conscientious objectors at this facility. "It is a passion of mine to advocate for a woman's right to choice," Dr Herbert said. "I feel quite strongly that people don't dictate to us what's right for us in our lives."

(ABC News: Tim Leslie ) 'I don't want to see the baby' Dr Herbert is one of only four doctors in the country who perform late surgical abortions. The procedure takes place when a woman is between 20 and 24 weeks' pregnant. On paper, late abortions are legal in most states and territories, subject to conditions. Yet in practice, women are routinely refused them and turned away. Amy (not her real name) is 22 weeks' pregnant. She said her pregnancy was unplanned and came as a shock. In fact, she was not aware she was expecting until very recently. "I felt very alone, isolated, humiliated, embarrassed, and angry at myself," she said. Amy and her mother decided to keep the pregnancy a secret. The shame she felt cast a shadow over milestones normally celebrated by mothers-to-be, including the first ultrasound. "The heartbeat was probably the hardest thing to hear," she said. "They had the big screen on and they were saying 'congratulations'. "I just said 'turn the screens off', like, 'I don't want to hear the heartbeat. I don't want to see the baby'." The 20-year-old said she considered all options before deciding to terminate the pregnancy. "Obviously with your emotions you think 'is it right for me to have an abortion'," she said. "Is it right for me to keep the baby? Or can I do adoption? Am I strong enough?"

(ABC News: Tim Leslie) Access to abortion services 'a postcode lottery' Amy could not find a local clinic or hospital offering late surgical terminations. With the help of some contacts, she learned about Marie Stopes in Melbourne and arranged to travel there. "I feel anxious," she told Background Briefing moments before the procedure, "but I'm ready". From their offices in Brisbane, the counselling service Children By Choice provides guidance to women like Amy as they grapple with the difficult decision. They receive calls from about 70 women in Queensland each week, mostly through their pregnancy hotline. Employee Michelle Reynolds said speaking to the women made her realise just how hard it could be to access services in the Sunshine State and beyond. "We live in a postcode lottery kind of a system where some hospitals are more willing to provide support than others," she said.

(ABC News: Tim Leslie) Statistics on the rate of abortions in Australia are not publicly available. However, extrapolating figures from West Australia and South Australia the only states to make figures available suggests that about 65,000 women terminate their pregnancies each year. Of those, only about 1 per cent are late surgical abortions after 20 weeks. The most common reason for the procedure, according to government reports, is the discovery of foetal abnormalities through medical testing. "There can be some anatomical things that can only be picked up on a morphology scan so often that puts women over the 20 week gestation," Jane Baird, a doctor at the Marie Stopes clinic in Melbourne, said. "A morphology scan can pick up an anatomical problem so, you know, the heart's not formed quite right, kidneys are missing, or there's part of the brain that hasn't developed normally."

Photo: Late surgical abortions are legal in most states, subject to conditions, yet many women are refused the procedure. (ABC News: Tim Leslie) Women urged to 'go through with the pregnancy' Critics of pregnancy terminations worry abortions are becoming too widely and easily available. Wendy Francis from the Australian Christian Lobby is opposed to what she described as "abortion on demand". She said legislation aimed at decriminalising abortion in Queensland must include strict limitations to ensure women are given the time and space to make informed decisions. "In this day and age most people are having ultrasounds, and on Facebook we see pictures of a moving baby, so we are more and more aware that this is actually human life inside the womb," she said. "As the baby grows in the womb, I think we're more aware of its little mannerisms." The bill, due to be debated in Parliament in October, would allow for abortions "on request" up to 22 weeks. If the legislation passes, Ms Francis fears the number of abortions in Queensland will rise. "I don't think there's any doubt of that, because the law has an effect of instructing people and maintaining a certain regime," she said. "I'm not wanting to put blame or shame on women, I just think we need to walk beside women to help them see there is a way they can go through with the pregnancy." Ms Francis, who supports abortion in cases where a mother's life is at risk, said she was also motivated by concerns for the welfare of unborn babies. "It's important to ask where does human life actually commence," she said. "And if it commences in the womb, then we do have a responsibility for human rights?"
Tumblr media
Photo: Children By Choice receives ABOUT 70 calls from women in Queensland each week. (ABC News: Tim Leslie) But Dr Baird said the choice to have an abortion should be available to women whenever it was safe to provide one. "I don't feel that anyone's less deserving of a termination just because more time's gone by for them," she said. "People are so unique and their life circumstances are so unpredictable, that you can never say 'it's OK to this point, but it's not OK past that line'." There is strong demand for late surgical abortions at the clinic but a shortage of doctors to perform the procedures. Kylie (surname withheld) manages the facility and is also a midwife. She said there was not a lot of interest in the field from within the medical sector. "The one thing we do struggle with is getting staff," she said. As a result, the clinic has turned to fly-in, fly-out doctors to fill the gap. "We literally have to fly them here. We don't have a Victorian doctor to do it," she said. "I don't know why. They understand the demand is there. We'd love to have them."
