If I’m being honest I hate the snw season 2 finale for a lot of reasons but the biggest one is that it’s essentially a zombie movie. They even tell us that in the episode.

So why should I care? They didn’t really do anything new with the idea. With a bit of playing with terminology this entire episode could have basically been swapped out for an ep of the walking dead.

What’s Star Trek about it? Why do we need this story? What’s it trying to say that’s new? What concept, philosophical, or sociopolitical idea are we exploring that is unique to scifi and not just generic zombies? What about the change in setting and time makes this a story worth telling? I don’t think it answers any of these questions nor do I think it wants to because answering these questions would push the line of what’s acceptable to talk about. And we can’t have controversy because then people stop watching and we stop making money.

God I just can’t get over how fucking good this chapter of Candela is. The storytelling is top notch and the entire cast has completely blown me away and it’s only the first episode. I thought I fell hard for last chapters characters. Little did I know what I was in for

#for a show that was 90% bare flesh there was a lot of eye strain #there was one lady on the pole who nearly gave me a heart attack #listen my last shift had someone slice their face open so. #I did walk out thinking ‘hm maybe I SHOULD get back into drag’ #I admit the only times I’ve been on a pole myself I was clinging for dear sweet life #‘just keep your core tight and let go!’ ‘mmmmmmNO’ #I jumped and had to cover my eyes when she did a split drop #when the fire sticks came out I was just on the edge of my seat with terror #ended up having to open the doors early anyways bc there’s no ventilation and the smoke filled the theatre so fast people were coughing #very very badly. yet the alarms didn’t off?? comforting! :’) #bless some of the performers tho it’s such a health and safety nightmare and I’m also trying to stop people taking pics and running around #picking up glasses and bottles and trash. some of them were quite sweet and I was clearly spread too thin #the fire really did just put me on edge omg.
