He wasn’t sure when it had all started, but he had a few faint ideas, one he could for sure almost bet was a big part of the reason. After another brief pause, he knocked and waited for the okay to step inside.
“Who is it?”
“Your father.”
“..Come on in.”
Pushing the door open, Taz closed it behind him and leaned against the wall his arms crossed as he eyed his son. Tyler was laid out on the couch, an arm covering his eyes and the other lying across his stomach, he hadn’t even changed out of his gear yet.
“Sit up we need to have a talk.”
“Can’t this wait till later?”
“No, no it can’t.”
Waiting until he was sat up and his attention was focused on his dad, Taz sat on the only other chair in the room. Rubbing his hand over his chin he took the time to really look at his kid, he had dark circles under his eyes. His hair was even wilder than usual and not because of having just finished a match. Taz had started to notice the slight differences in him, and to be frank he was getting worried.
“Look son.”
Taz started slowly trying to figure out the best way to go about this situation, he figured coming right out was best.
“I don’t know what’s been going on lately, but we really need to discuss whatever it is that has you feeling or acting the way you’ve been.”
“Nothing is going on I’m just a little tired.”
“That’s bullshit and we both know it come on Ty I wasn’t born yesterday; you know you can talk to me about anything. But for the last couple of months, you haven’t been yourself. You show up late for training, you hardly return any calls to anybody or when the guys invite you out you always decline. Your matches are still amazing, it seems the only time you’re really yourself is when you’re in the ring. Maybe it’s because it comes like second nature I don’t know. But what I do know is something ain’t right and it seems like it hasn’t been for a while.”
“I’m fine dad really just a lot on my mind but it’s nothing. We’ve been traveling a lot and it’s finally catching up.”
Taz eyed him for a few minutes then spoke once again this time with more caution.
“How long has it been since Double or Nothing?”
“Eight months give or take.”
Nodding, he stood and walked over patting his shoulder then made his way over to the door Taz knew his gut feeling was probably right.
“Well, if you do want to talk, I’m here remember that please.”
“I will dad thanks.”
Tyler said and flopped back down on the couch resuming his previous position, Taz watched him for another moment before leaving the room. Pulling out his phone he scrolled to the bottom of his contacts and hovered over the call button before clicking dial. Listening to it ring he walked away from Tyler’s locker room and headed for the parking lot. This was a long shot but like he’d told Tyler, he knew his kid and he’d bet money that the thing making him behave this way would be on the other end of the phone call.
“Taz?”
“Hey firefly it’s good to hear from you again, listen I know it’s been a while since we chatted last, but I really need your help.?
*Eight months ago*
“Ty wait stop you’re going to drop me!”
Taz followed the sound of laughter and made his way to where the ring was being set up. Chuckling, he crossed his arms watching as Tyler carried Y/n around the barricade that was set up.
“Oh, come on you know I’d never drop you baby just hold on tight.”
Tyler chuckled back to her as he walked around a barricade and then started jumping up the stairs. The sound of Y/n’s screams being muffled as she pressed her face against his shoulder.
“Be careful Tyler you have a match tomorrow last thing we need is you getting injured because you tripped going up the stairs. And we don’t want y/n getting hurt either.”
Taz called out and made his way down the ramp towards the ring, Tyler huffed but turned and walked back down the steps. Y/n still held tightly on his back as they made their way over to stand with him.
“I wouldn’t drop my girl she’s safe as could be.”
“Not the point son.”
“Thank you, Taz.”
Y/n said slipping off Tyler’s back and adjusting the HOOK shirt she was wearing a grin on her face.
“You’re welcome, you two look just the way you did when you were fifteen and making your way around the arenas waiting for me to finish a match.”
“Except this time, she’s mine and I don’t have to worry about her leaving me for an older man.”
Tyler teased causing Y/n to gasp shoving his shoulder as she crossed her arms.
“I didn’t leave you for another man I just wanted an autograph from Stone Cold and you were busy munching your chips while sucking your juice box.”
Y/n said as Tyler took her hand kissing the back of it lightly then kissed her lips chuckling afterwards.
“When I found her, she was busy drooling over him clutching the photo to her chest listening to him ramble about whatever.”
“I was not drooling!”
“Okay children okay it’s getting late Tyler needs to get some rest for the show tomorrow you can argue about this another time. Head back to the hotel and no funny business I mean it he needs to get a good night sleep.”
“Yes dad.”
Taz watched as the two walked off whispering and giggling as they went, he loved seeing his son so happy and the fact it was with someone who was already treated like family because of his connection with her uncle was just the cherry on top.
*Present* Pushing the hotel room door open Tyler threw his bag on the floor and made his way over for a quick shower. He was ready to just get clean and lay in his bed the exhaustion from his match was finally settling in. He was more than glad he didn’t have anything to do tomorrow so he could just keep to himself. Digging through his bag for a clean pair of pajama bottoms he walked into the bathroom showering and getting ready for bed. Plugging his phone in, he shut the light off, laying down on the bed and waited for his vision to get adjusted to the dark.
He still wasn’t completely used to sleeping by himself even after eight months alone, the bed always seemed much colder without her there. Tyler couldn’t help but shut his eyes tightly, the image of her drifted through his mind as it did almost every night. He couldn’t help playing that last scene back repeatedly like he always did. Sure, he may have been the one to bring this all upon himself, sure he knew that he could have gone about things a different way. But it was too late to try and change the past, now all he could do was unwillingly dwell on it.
*Eight months ago* Tyler rubbed a hand over his face as he sat on the bed, he was supposed to be resting up but he couldn’t help it. What he was about to do was making it impossible for him to go to sleep. Hopefully once it was finished, he’d be able to just push everything off and maybe things would go back to semi normal.
“Hi babe, I’m back sorry it took so long but Renee wanted help deciding on some outfits for the show next week.”
Y/n called out as she closed the hotel door behind her, making her way to the bedroom after removing her coat and shoes. Spotting Tyler she frowned softly and made her way over to the bed slowly.
“Hey are you okay?”
Tyler shook his head and got off the bed. He needed to have a little space between them before he did this. Swallowing back the nervousness he took a moment to collect himself, letting a neutral bored look settle on his features then turned back to her. Y/n the girl who meant more to him then anyone else, his light in this fucked world. They’d known each other all their lives and yet over the course of the time they were dating, his feelings hit fast.
“Look I know this is sudden and out of nowhere but I just I don’t think this is going to work out anymore. And by this, I mean us. I’ve given it some thought and there’s not really any point in letting it drag on. It’s better if we just end on good terms as friends or whatever.”
Tyler glanced over, seeing the shock on her face and the tears welling up in her eyes as he spoke. He knew this was going to devastate her, but he needed out. He couldn’t handle all this emotion and feeling, everything else that came with having a serious stable relationship.
Y/n stared at him and swallowed the lump in her throat as she tried to process everything he was saying. He was right this had come out of nowhere, she thought that they were doing amazing at the present time in their relationship. Sure, they had spats like every couple, but they always managed to work through them in the end.
“Where is this coming from? We’ve been together for nearly eight months. What changed, what went wrong? What did I do to make you feel like you needed to end this?”
“You didn’t do anything there’s no point trying to explain it I just know that it’s best to end things where they are before one of us ends up getting hurt…worse.”
“I thought you loved me. How can you say you love someone then go and do this without giving me a real reason as to why. I don’t want to lose you Ty please baby there has to be something we can do to work this out.”
“We’ll always be friends you won’t lose me completely this is just for the best; I do love you Y/n..in a way but I just know we can’t continue this it has to be over. I got you another room, so you don’t have to go to the airport this late.”
Grabbing the new key, he held it out looking at the wall to avoid watching the tears that were sliding down her cheeks. Tyler knew she was hurting but he couldn’t let this relationship go on and it was best that she hated him for now then for things to continue as they were. In the end he was worried about breaking her even worse.
Sniffling Y/n stood up and quickly went about gathering her stuff, Tyler watched her pack everything. His heart felt like it was going to pound out of his chest. He wanted more than anything to stop her, but he knew he couldn’t. When she had everything, she went to the door stopping with her hand on the knob just hoping he would change his mind. Sure, she could yell and scream but the thing she wanted most was for him to be happy. And if ending their relationship was going to make him happy then she wasn’t going to stop that. Walking out she closed the door behind her, leaving Tyler alone with the memories and a empty feeling in his chest.
*Present* Y/n stared at the tickets that laid on the table in front of her in an envelope. After the call she received from Taz a few days ago she was dumbfounded. She couldn’t understand why he would want her to fly all the way out to Chicago because Tyler wasn’t acting himself. She hadn’t seen or spoken to him since the night she left his hotel room. After having her cousin grab the few things, she had at his apartment she hadn’t had any contact with him. Of course, she had asked after him and even tried to send a text, but it failed to deliver.
Taz had told her he couldn’t figure out what else to do, Tyler wasn’t talking to him like he normally would. He wasn’t talking to anyone or being himself, and this was the last thing Taz could think of. Tyler and Y/n had been close as could be even before they dated so he was hoping that she could help.
Honestly as much as she loved Taz and wanted to do this for him, she couldn’t just forget about all the hurt and anger she had felt at the way Tyler ended things between them. He couldn’t even be decent enough to give her a straight answer as to why he was breaking up with her. She’d spent weeks and months afterwards trying to think of what could have gone wrong and she kept coming up blank.
“Tyler made his choice he obviously didn’t want me there anymore, he ended things between us why should I care if he isn’t acting right?”
Standing she felt all that old anger coming back to the surface as she stared down at those tickets.  “I really think he needs you Y/n”
Taz had told her; she had never heard that desperate tone in his voice before and knew that he must be really worried about Tyler.
“If he really needed me then he never should have left.”
Y/n turned her back on the envelope and made her way into the bathroom to have a hot bath. Maybe she would know what to tell Taz after spending some more time thinking. The flight was for tomorrow evening. Slipping into the hot bath y/n rested her head back on a towel, her eyes closing as the water gently swirled around her. She couldn’t help her mind wandering when she closed her eyes, thinking about Tyler brought back memories that she tried her hardest to keep buried in the back of her mind.
*A year ago* “Ty what if we get caught by someone?”
“We won’t baby, nobody ever comes down this it’s too far in the arena so we’re safe.”
Tyler whispered holding Y/n’s hand as they made their way down a dark hallway. He had just finished a match and despite still being in the arena; Tyler needed her now. He just couldn’t wait until they got back to the hotel. Stopping short Tyler turned pressing her against the wall, Y/n gasped at the contact of cold cement seeping through her shirt making her shiver as his warm body covered hers. Tyler’s lips met hers in a hungry kiss, his fingers pressing into the skin of her hips, Y/n let out a soft moan as he rocked into her.
“Been thinking of doing this all-day angel ever since we got out of bed this morning.”
“Ty please I need.”
“Shh I know baby just be a good girl and wait. I’ll give you just what you need.”
He kissed across her jaw and down her neck, his hands slipping under her shirt touching as much skin as he could. Her nipples pebbled under his touch and soft moans fell from her lips as he worked them between his fingers. Tyler couldn’t help the smirk that covered his lips at the sounds she was making.
“As much as I love playing with your tits my dad will be looking for us soon.”
He chuckled softly before yanking her pants down to her knees a soft gasp falling from her.
“Fuck you’re already wet for me and I’ve barely done anything.”
He whispered in her ear as he rubbed her core through the new panties he just bought her. Y/n whimpered and whined as he pushed the fabric to the side. Pulling his own shorts down he fisted his cock stroking it a few times before slowly sliding into her. Y/n moaned head falling back as he laced their fingers together, rocking his hips forward.
“So, fucking tight.”
He hissed giving her just a few moments to adjust to his size before he pulled out thrusting back in.
“I love you Ty baby so much.”
Y/n cried out her legs wrapping around his waist as he moved in and out of her, Tyler’s eyes met hers a gleam of happiness in them.
“I love you too starfish, forever.”
*Present day* Wiping the tears away Y/n huffed and reached over grabbing her phone sending a quick message to Taz.
‘I’ll be there tomorrow evening.’ ~ Taz watched the flights flash across the board, she should be off the plane and walking over to the baggage claim any moment now.  Looking around Taz smiled mover making his way over when he finally spotted her, waiting till she grabbed her suitcase and turned around.
“Taz!”
“Hey firefly it’s so good to see you kiddo!”
Hugging her tightly he kissed the top of her head and grabbed her suitcase offering his arm for her as they made their way through the airport.
“Thanks again for coming Y/n I know that things haven’t been good between you twos but I’m worried and nothing else is working.”
“Are you sure he’s going to want to see me?”
“Honestly yes I do. You should have seen the way he was after you left, I don’t know why he ended things, but he was a mess afterwards. He doesn’t know that I heard him every time I passed his room or went to his door. I’ve told him more than once that breaking it off with you was stupid but he’s a grown ass adult. Here we go let’s get in and head for the arena he has a match tonight, so we’ll keep you hidden until afterwards.”
“What are we going to do if he gets mad and tells me to leave?”
“If you knew how miserable he’s been for the last eight months or so especially these the last few weeks even. I think seeing you would be more than good for him even if he doesn’t want to admit it. Maybe the two of you could finally talk and you can find out why things ended the way they did. If he really doesn’t, well then you can explore Chicago for a few days before going home. Or there is a ticket for tomorrow.”
“Yeah, having some closure would be really nice if I’m honest.”
“Closure yeah.”
Taz nodded holding the door for her to get in the car and walked around getting in the driver side.  Nodding y/n went silent for a moment she had tried to figure out once again why he had left but she couldn’t and unless Tyler told her she would never know. That was another reason why she had eventually agreed to come all the way out here.
Taz really was hoping that this would be good on both ends for the two of them. Making the drive to the arena they talked about a bunch of different topics, the closer they got the more nervous Y/n became. Yes, she had always hoped to see Tyler again, but didn’t think she would. Y/n also hoped she’d be able to keep her cool when she seen him. But part of her couldn’t help arguing that he deserved her anger after all.
Parking the car, they slipped in through a back door and made their way down a couple hallways. Opening a door that was labeled HOOK, Taz stepped inside setting her case down and stepped to the side so she could enter.
“I have Tyler in my locker room for now he won’t be in here until after his match if you need me at all just send me a text. Here’s the remote, and this is the wifi password I’ll talk with you soon, sorry to rush but I need to get to commentary.”
Watching him leave, y/n looked around and sat down she couldn’t believe she was here again. Turning the tv on she searched for the channel that would play Dynamite. She hadn’t seen one of Tyler’s matches in a few months, so she was intrigued to see where his storyline was...
When his music hit Y/n’s breath hitched as she waited and then there he was, Taz was right he wasn’t himself. The rest of the world may not be able to tell very well but she could she knew Tyler better than she did anyone. Or at least she had, that’s why she was hoping he would be willing to see her tonight. The expression on his face and the lifelessness in his eyes. Shaking her head Y/n focused her attention on the screen watching as the match played out he was still just as fantastic as he’d always been.
“Come on Tyler.”
She whispered and smiled when he got the pin, Tyler stood up lifting his title then slipped out of the ring.
‘He’s on his way back just give it a few moments, good luck kiddo text if you need something’
‘Okay thank you’
Putting her phone on silent Y/n stood up and took a few breaths to calm herself down as she waited. When the door handle turned, she prepared herself and watched the door swing inward. His head was down so he didn’t see her right away until she spoke.
“Hello Tyler.”
Tyler’s head shot up quickly, he blinked rubbing the back of his head okay he must have been hit in the head too many times. Either he was hallucinating or Y/n was actually right in front of him.
“Y/n? What are you? Is it really you? How are you in my dressing room? What are you doing here?”
“Your father got ahold of me he said you haven’t been yourself lately and was hoping I could help somehow.”
Y/n shrugged her shoulders biting her lip as she watched him the door finally shut closing them in together.
“And you came here just for that? I didn’t think..I mean after everything I wouldn’t have expected you too.”
“Well, I hadn’t really planned on it at first but I was hoping for some closure but yeah, he said he thought you really needed me. And well I have some of my own reasons.”
Of course, it was his dad that got ahold of her, the thing he’d wanted to do for weeks and couldn’t bring himself to.
“What’s going on Ty, what’s the matter with you?”
Hearing that nickname sent a wave of sadness over him and a lump in his throat he had to swallow around. Tyler ran a hand through his hair, an action that was all too familiar to y/n he walked over until she was in arms reach.
“Feels like everything is crumbling around me I can barely sleep; I just feel so lost and I can’t seem to catch a break mentally.”
He mumbled as his eyes ran over her features, he couldn’t believe that she was actually in front of him right now.
“Have you ever felt like everything around you was just fine? The world in your immediate vicinity is doing rather well.  But for you internally, mentally whatever it feels like nothing will ever be right again, and you can’t block out the world completely, so you just try to ignore it.”
Nodding her head slowly as she listened to him speak Y/n watched his expression.
“Yeah honestly I have, still do at times. How long has it been like this?”
“The night after Double or Nothing, when I…broke things off between us it was hard for a while then I thought it was getting better. But it wasn’t nothing has been good since that night and it’s just getting to be too much at this point.”
Y/n felt her heart break at the vulnerability in his voice. If there was one thing that never changed it was the way she always responded to his emotions. She wanted so badly to reach out and hug him, but she couldn’t bring herself to. The feelings of hurt and anger were still welling up inside of her.
“Before I do my best to try and help you, I need to know something. Why did you end things Tyler? If things are so bad, why did you end it between us? And I want the real reason because after talking to your dad I’m starting to believe what you were spewing before wasn’t the whole reason. We were doing amazing at least I thought we were, and even the six months before that when you were training a lot. But then suddenly, it’s not working? I want the truth. I at least deserve that.”
Y/n said and searched his face she wanted to know, she needed to know the real reason. Needed to know the reason that caused her to lay awake at night, her tears falling on her pillow as she tried to think of what she did or said that made him leave.
“I told you already we just couldn’t-.”
“Don’t lie to me Tyler and tell me the truth and I mean the whole truth!”
Y/n snapped and cupped his face making him look at her and not allowing him to break eye contact. The feeling of his skin against hers still sent a spark through her but she ignored it.
“Before I was your girlfriend, I was one of your best friends, we knew each other better than we knew ourselves. And we almost always knew when the other was lying and that is what you’re doing. Now why did you leave me? Why did you end things between us when they were going so well? You just dropped me, Tyler. Like I was nothing. Like our whole relationship was nothing.”
She said letting him go and paced the floor in front of him she didn’t mean to snap but she couldn’t help herself. She was pissed, and still hurt. Swallowing she blinked back the tears and continued.
“Instead of being a man and talking to me about whatever was wrong you just tossed me to the side and didn’t even have the decency to try and fight for what we had. You may not have cared or thought I deserved a reason, but I do. I just want to know.”
“Because I was scared Y/n. You’re right, you know me better than anyone and you know that fear is not something I feel too often but when it came to our relationship, I was scared shitless. My feelings got too real, too intense so fast and I didn’t know how to handle it, so I just swept it all under the rug and ran.”
Tyler admitted, his head dropping, he didn’t know what else to say but he knew she had every right to know. It felt good being able to admit this to her and he didn’t know why the hell he hadn’t done it sooner. Then again, he’d grown up a lot during their time apart and realized that just because his feelings seemed to be too much too fast that it was okay.
“I’m sorry, I truly am I wanted to reach out to you a couple months after I wanted to make things better, but I couldn’t bring myself to. I know it doesn’t seem like I cared, especially with the way I went about everything, but I did. I loved you more than I ever had another person. You were everything to me. I wasn’t emotionally mature enough to handled everything. I know that’s not an excuse either but I’m laying it all out like you want.”
He was not used to being vulnerable and hated how it made him feel but maybe letting this all out would be the start of him getting back to normal. He knew that Y/n didn’t owe him anything so to say he was completely surprised when she wrapped her arms around him and hugged him tightly was an understatement. Tyler’s arms wound around her waist and held her just as tightly to him and felt like he could finally breathe for the first time in a long time.
Y/n wasn’t sure how long they stood together like that just the two of them holding each other tightly but it felt good. Tears slid down her cheeks as she held onto him, this was something she’d been dreaming of. The relief of finally knowing it wasn’t anything she did, the anger knowing if he would have just come to her about everything they could of worked on it together. The sadness of all the time they had lost whirled around inside her. But for the time being she pushed it away and just focused on the fact she was getting to hold him again.
“You have no idea how badly I’ve wanted to do this again.”
Tyler mumbled into her neck and reluctantly loosened his grip so he could look at her.
“Probably as badly as I’ve wanted to, I can’t believe that all this time.”
“I know I’m really sorry.”
Taking his hand Y/n pulled him to sit beside her on the couch and rubbed his hand that was still clasped between hers. Tyler shook his head and leaned back against the cushions a soft smile on his face.
“I can’t believe you’re actually here, how long for?”
“Well, we weren’t sure how this was going to go so I have two tickets one for tomorrow and the other is four days from tomorrow.”
“Would you be willing to keep the second one, I really think we need to sit down and talk all of this out more.”
“I wouldn’t have come all this way if I didn’t think that we could talk afterwards if you were willing. So yes lets get your stuff together and head somewhere maybe we could get some food because you really look like you need something to eat after that match.”
“You watched?”
“Yes, I always used to love watching your matches and I haven’t seen any in a while, so you have a lot to catch me up on.”
Tyler’s smile widened as he pressed a soft kiss to her cheek, he knew this didn’t fix anything, but he still couldn’t help himself. They gathered their suitcases and made their way out of the arena to the parking lot where his rental car was. While putting their suitcases in the backseat Y/n sent a quick text to Taz then climbed in the passenger seat.
‘Going to get something to eat and then talk with him we have a lot we need to deal with’
Taz pulled his phone out since it was a commercial break and smiled as he read over the message sending a reply wishing her the best of luck and then sent one to Tyler.
‘If it works out treat her right this time boy don’t let your fear get in the way of what or rather who you love most.’

This MAN would be enamored with a woman who is bold. I’m talking about bold personality, bold makeup, bold outfits, etc. This man steps out all the time with bold outfits and pics (have you seen his ass? Literally, have you seen his ass?) He would need a partner who can match his style, just simply for aesthetic reasons. For personality, again I would see him being attracted to someone who is fierce and who goes head to head in a battle of words (or flirty banter).
Hook
Tumblr media
Do I need to explain? (We all saw the man at a strip club) I think because of the fact he is quiet (intimidating-ly quiet), he would love someone who speaks their mind more frequently than him. She would need to have the baddie mentality; for appearance, I’m sure he wouldn’t care, but I think he would lean towards baddie style/appearance. But I think that only because he would like for her to have the same style (like streetwear) as him.
Daniel Garcia
Tumblr media
HAVE YALL SEEN THE MAN IN ISIAH’S VLOGS?? MANS BE GOING CRAZY. He would easily be attracted to someone with the Baddie aesthetic (crop tops, tight jeans, etc.). I think, like Ricky, something about a woman being very fierce and outgoing would just turn him on. I would also think they would need to go out as much as he does (to clubs and social gatherings) cause those are some of the things he considers to be fun. I would also think he would try to match outfits with you kind of like Ricky.
Eddie Kingston
Tumblr media
This is one is a no-brainer (in my mind). I believe that Eddie is that person who wants his partner to have a “Baddie” mentality (independent, tough yet caring, comfortable with their skin, unapologetically themselves, and has a range of humor). Like he would have no problem with you being a “softie,” but I feel like he would bond better with someone who has a similar mindset as him. Bottom line, he just wants you to be comfortable.

To me, they are the true neutrals for this request (please look at my diagram for a visual representation). I think they genuinely would not care about personality or appearances, their significant other’s comfort would be their primary concern/worry. But I see them being attracted to sweethearts because they are sweethearts (especially my man Darius). But again, I truly think they would be drawn to anybody (as long as the vibes are there mannnnn).
Kenny Omega
Tumblr media
Two words; Kota Ibushi (That’s Kenny’s soulmate and I will not take any criticisms). That man looks so cute, yet has a killer mentality (and I think that is what Kota embodies) but also Kota is a big sweetheart. So to be honest, I see Kenny being a neutral person but with more favoritism on the softie side. Also, the man is a softie himself; Kenny is very kind and sweet.
Wardlow
Tumblr media
THAT MAN IS TOO DAMN TALL- Hear me out, the man has a corruption kink (or omegaverse as he has compared himself to wolves….ARGUE WITH YOUR MOMMA). I genuinely see Wardlow being attracted to a person who is a sweetheart so that way he can experience a very nurturing and caring person. I think he is one of those people where it’s like opposites attract. Now, for appearance idk, it can go either way; he would just want the person to definitely be a soft person.
Adam Page
Tumblr media
THIS MAN IS A SOUTHERN SWEETHEART, ALL THE WAY DOWN THE COWBOY BOOTS! I think he would definitely be attracted to a Southern belle. Adam would love to have a softie significant other because of the sheer aesthetic and he needs some genuine pure love and care (for all the shit he has been through). I would see him looking at his significant other as if they’re his escape from everything and just adore the shit outta them. (Pls protect this man)

Pro Wrestling Illustrated: March 2024
“Timeless” Toni Storm is simultaneously a throwback to a bygone Golden Age and, in this contemporary grappling scene, someone rather singular.
HOTSEAT
AN INCISIVE INTERVIEW WITH THE SPORT’S TOP STARS AND FIGURES
TONI STORM
The whole place seemed to have been stricken with a kind of creeping paralysis. Out of beat with the rest of the world, crumbling apart in slow motion. A once-grand estate, nestled deep in the Hollywood Hills … a relic from a bygone age in Tinseltown. Back then, they didn’t need dialogue. They had faces. This is where Pro Wrestling Illustrated had sent me, on assignment for an exclusive interview with a woman whose startling reinvention has taken All Elite Wrestling–and the entire wrestling world–by storm, you might say. These days, she doesn’t show herself in public very much, aside from TV tapings and, of course, on the set. So, landing the interview took some doing, but if there’s anything 30 years covering this crazy business has taught me, it’s how to get my foot in the door.
This time, that foot would be in the door of a palatial mansion that may very well  have once housed Valentino, DeMille, Garbo, or Fairbanks. Walking under the shade of rows of aging palms, past that once crystal-clear outdoor pool, between the cracked pillars of a French facade, I’m greeted by the butler; a loyal, oddly quiet man who brings me inside. Shrouded partly in sharp shadows, by the flickering light on a roaring fireplace, she sits reclining on a chaise lounge… Toni Storm. At first, she is reluctant to break her silence, so I have to win her trust. Part of that means playing along with what can sometimes only be described as  a baffling , yet mesmerizing delusion. In the end it’s working for her; If Toni Storm is crazy, then she’s crazy like a fox.
We chat for what seems like hours, as she relays to me her hopes and dreams, her natural connection with the fans, whether in the stands or watching at home–those wonderful people out there in the dark.
What follows are the highlights of that enlightening conversation. By the end of it, I felt I had developed a real understanding of who Toni Storm is now. I get it. She really is “Timeless.” Perhaps more than that, she is transcendent.
And she’s ready for her closeup, Mr Khan.
Brian R. Solomon: Thank you so much for granting me this interview, Ms. Storm. I realize you’re a very busy woman. First, let me say that there are a lot of people, myself included, who would say that right now, “Timeless” Toni Storm is one of the best, most entertaining things on AEW television, I wanted to know how you feel about that.
Storm: Well, thank you very much. I completely understand why you’re feeling that way. I am a very exciting act. I have been a very exciting act for a very long time. And I’ve always blown audiences away, no matter where I’ve gone or what I’ve done. So, you are right to be feeling like this. I am, as the kids say, “killing it.”
Solomon: Nevertheless, having to address your transformation as of late. It’s been very dramatic, to say the least. What do you say to the fans who might be wondering what happened to the Toni Storm that they remembered? Storm: Well, you see, it’s simple, really. I have played many roles all throughout my career. And now what you’re seeing, “Timeless” Toni Storm, is the real me. I’m finally ready to show the world who I well and truly am. And this is it. Over the years, fans have seen others of the numerous roles I've played. For instance, most recently I used to be “Green Goblin #3” of the Outcasts trio. But now, I’m finally revealing myself, Finally revealing my true self, I should say. And that is “Timeless” Toni Storm.
Solomon: That word, “Timeless.” it keeps coming up. Could you help us understand what that word means to you? Storm: How do I put this? Ah, yes. I transcend. Yes, I’m in a different realm. In this realm, there is no time. I just exist. I do not age. I was not born. I will not die. Stars never die. I just am.
[If you ask some of the broadcast journalists at AEW, Toni Storm has lost her marbles. But the “Timeless” one tells PWI She’s just found her true self.]
Solomon: I have to ask–and I hope you don’t take this the wrong way–but did the loss of the AEW Women’s World title to Hikaru Shida last summer on the 200th episode of AEW dynamite have anything to do with what we’re seeing from you lately? Not to mention the fact that it was your supposed friend and ally, Saraya, who pinned you to win the title during the three-way match with Shinda during All In at Wembley Stadium. The reason I ask is that those developments all took place around the same time. And those losses, the way they happened, would cause many people to reconsider the path of their career.
Storm: Alright, I admit it. I’m going to finally admit it here for the readers of Pro Wrestling Illustrated. When I lost the title to Hikaru Shida, I absolutely lost it. I fell apart. And I would like to apologize to all my fans who had to witness that. But now, I have risen from the ashes. I am on quite a fantastic winning streak right now, in case you haven't noticed. I have picked myself off the ground. And I'm doing better than I ever have done. This has really ignited the fire inside of me once again. One cannot deny that Hikaru Shida has the heart of a champion. One cannot deny, even, that she has the heart of a lion. And one might say that she was destined to be a champion.  But every destiny comes to an end.
Solomon: I’m sure you’ve noticed this, but there are a lot of fans–and even the television announcers  who call your matches, like Taz and Tony Schiavone–who seem to be very concerned about you these days. Some of them have even spoken about you like you may have lost your mind. How do you take that?
Storm: Well, I’m not going to lie, darling. I don’t know where all of this misplaced concern is coming from, because I have never felt more “with it” in my entire life. I don’t know where people are getting these ideas from. I don't know who is daring to spread these ugly rumors about me. But I am done with it, truly. And you don’t need to worry about me, because I'm giving the performance of my lifetime. I’m doing just fine. I just cannot fathom where they are getting the idea that I've lost it, or why anyone would even entertain such a thought.
[Dressed as if she’s just emerged from her spacious trailer on a Hollywood studio lot, Ms. Storm shares a jaunty laugh with her adoring public.]
Solomon: Well, I think I can tell you one thing that might have been giving them that idea: the smeared makeup. That certainly might be having some people worried. I hope you can at least understand that. And, while we’re on the subject, maybe you could let us in on what that’s all about.
Storm: Well, you see, I was talking to RJ City, and I had an epiphany…a revelation, you might say. It was then that I realized that I'm “Timeless” Toni Storm. But getting to that realization, leading up to it, was very difficult. And that takes a toll. This whole lifestyle can be very hard, mentally, on a performer. That realization can be hard to bear. And so, once in a while, you can lose control.
Solomon: I’m not sure I understand.
Storm: Have you ever had a mental breakdown?
Solomon: I suppose I have. Many people have, at one point or another, but that’s not–
Storm: and you’ve never smeared your makeup?
Solomon: No. That, I've never done, no. Mental breakdown, maybe, yes. Smeared makeup? No.
Storm: In my world, where there is a mental breakdown, there is a bit of a smeared makeup job. However, I have a new butler now. And there will be no makeup smears. Everything is taken care of. I fired my stylist. And that was a good move. You won’t be seeing any more smeared makeup on me. I’m going to be immaculate, all of the time.
[“SPRAYPAINTING THINGS LIKE WE USED TO DO”: Saraya attempts to incapacitate her challenger, who rallies back with Storm Zero piledriver at the Dynamite: Grand Slam taping.]
Solomon: Yes, I did notice the butler right away. He’s hard to miss. But you mentioned RJ City. Let’s get back to him. I’m interested in talking about RJ, because I noticed that he’s been with you now since you’ve been reborn, so to speak. We’d previously seen him doing backstage interviews with Renee Paquette, or hosting his excellent web interview series, HEY! EW. But lately, he seems to really be a big part of what you’ve been doing. How would you describe what your relationship is with him right now?
Storm: The thing about RJ City is he has a bit of an attitude problem. I’m going to let you all in on this. He can be difficult. He’s very cheeky. I would even go so far as to say that he’s a bit of a pest, really. So, you can’t trust him entirely. But he is around me all the time. And he was there when I had my revelation. Now, I just can’t get rid of him. But he seems to always be there to help me if I should need something, I suppose.
Solomon: So, kind of like a pet?
Storm: Yes, exactly! He’s like my dog friend. Everyone should have one. A trusty, loyal sled dog. Solomon: I’m sure he'll be delighted to read that.
Storm: Hopefully not. I love doing this, even just to annoy him.
[Beneath the catchphrases, dramatic turns (faces!), and somewhat erratic behavior, Ms. Storm is a woman possessed by the desire to return to her former glory.]
Solomon: Now, we talked about previously losing the AEW Women’s title and how you came to these realizations. But obviously, before that, you had been one of the Outcasts, with Saraya and Ruby Soho. Now, you’ve kind of splintered off into your own universe. I’d like to ask if you have any awareness at all of how your former allies in the Outcasts feel about the new Toni Storm?
Storm: Saraya certainly hasn’t seemed very happy with me recently, for some reason. I don’t know why. But whatever problems Saraya has with me, whatever reason she’s upset, I'm sure she'll get over it. As a matter of fact, they'll all be fine. I don’t really know what they’re up to. I’m sure they’re just off, spray-painting things, like we used to do.
[“I need the biggest prize, the biggest trophy … I can’t bear to be seen without it. A lot of my self-worth comes from being champion.”]
Solomon: Are you above the AEW Women’s World championship at this point? Is that even the main goal of your career? Or are you bigger than that now?
Storm: I wouldn’t say bigger than the title, necessarily. It’s more that I need it. It’s something that I need to possess in order to be okay. I need the biggest prize, the biggest trophy. It’s become very much a big part of my art. I can’t bear to be seen without it. A lot of my self-worth comes from being champion.
Solomon: I have to ask you about the show. I mean, I have other questions about your various catchphrases, but I don’t think they’d let me print those in the pages of Pro Wrestling Illustrated. So, I’ll leave that alone, and, instead, I’ll focus on the shoe. What exactly is the significance of the shoe?
Storm: When one needs to defend oneself, one must utilize what one can get one’s hands on. And I've only ever had my shoes on me. Maybe I should invest in some kind of weaponry. But right now, the shoes seem to be doing the trick.
[WATCH OUT FOR THE SHOW: “Timeless” Toni Storm is ever aware of the camera’s lens and can often be found breaking the fourth wall. But only a fool would dare mistake her eccentricity for weakness.]
Solomon: I would say they are, yes. I honestly never thought I’d be asking anyone this question in an interview, but do you think that maybe you might have been reincarnated? Or is it possible that you perhaps could have been born 100 years too late? Certainly, you seem more at home in the 1920s than in the 2020s.
Storm: You know, I would answer yes to that question. But the truth is, since I’m timeless, my concept of time is not a thing, if that makes sense.
Solomon: Not really, but go on.
Storm: What I mean to say is, I’m an essence. I’m a realm. I’m a mirage. I’m neither here nor there.
Solomon: Hmmm. While we’re on the subject of reincarnation, and flashbacks to a century ago, let’s talk about the short films you’ve been doing. And, by the way, I think they shouldn’t even be in picture-in-picture. They should be on the main part of the show, not during commercials. And I know a lot of people feel that way. But the films are silent, so I guess I understand …
Storm: Now you’re just babbling, darling. Do you have a question?
Solomon: Oh, yes. Do you think that All Elite Wrestling should switch the whole show being entirely done in black-and-white? And maybe silent? Or would you maybe not stand out as much if they did that?
Storm: To tell you the truth, I don't even know what you’re talking about or what you’re referring to. Everything is black-and-white to me. But I have heard about that fancy, newfangled Technicolor you’re talking about. It would be really nice one day to see AEW go live in Technicolor. I hear it’s going to be all  the rage.
Solomon: I have one more important question that I wanted to ask you, and this has to do with things that are even bigger than AEW. We know that a lot of people over the years, but especially these days, have kind of grown disillusioned with modern-day Hollywood. And you represent a timeless version of Hollywood that I think a lot of people are nostalgic for, or kind of miss in some ways–the glamor and the elegance. Could we ever expect to see “Timeless” Toni Storm bringing her timelessness, her elegance, her classic style to Hollywood itself?
Storm: What does that question even mean? What do you mean “bring my timelessness to Hollywood itself”? I’ve been in Hollywood my whole life. I’ve starred in a million movies, in all the major flicks. I’ve been a star my whole life, ever since childhood. I was born on set. Both of my parents were very famous actors, I create art, darling. And you will continue to see more and more pieces of art from me.
Solomon: I’m intrigued to learn of your being born on a movie set. I don’t think that fans are aware of that. That might be new information, broken right here in the pages of Pro Wrestling Illustrated. But didn’t you just tell me that you were never born, that you just exist?
Storm [waves in disgust]: Explain it however you like. Call it whatever you will. I was born into this business. I have been on movie sets my entire life. I am the very definition of Hollywood. All I have ever done is perform. I have performed so much my entire life that I can’t even remember my countless performances.
Solomon: Well, your performances certainly have been making an impression on audiences, as I said at the beginning of our conversation. You’re bringing back a certain something that’s been lost in the business.
Storm: I congratulate you on recognizing the obvious, yes. I just think we needed to bring that back, and that’s why I'm here. There’s been something missing from the business, from All Elite Wrestling. And I'm bringing a bit of the magic back, a bit of the art. It’s no wonder that audiences have been eating it up. I give them something to believe in. That’s what makes me stand out from the rest of the pack. And that’s what “Timeless” Toni Storm is all about. I would say that there should be even more of it–but then, of course, it wouldn’t stand out as much, would it?
[Ouch! Ms. Storm liberates the follicles from poor Skye Blue’s scalp. Tolerant of her “co-stars” until they stand in the path of her goals, Storm’s power ties in her ability to become ruthless at the drop of a hair curler.]
Solomon: No, it wouldn’t. That’s a great point, Ms. Storm. And you’re doing such an amazing job with it. I’m a huge fan.
Storm: as you should be. I appreciate all my fans and admirers. I definitely can’t say I blame them.
As with all brushes with greatness, there was only so much time to say all the things that I wanted to say, to ask all the questions that I wanted to ask. As the interview went on, it almost seemed like she was consumed deeper and deeper into this fantasy of her own making. I dared not challenge her too directly, as one never knows how someone in such a state might react. And far be it from me to shatter what's been so carefully constructed.
[“Now you’re just babbling darling. Do you have a question?”]
Eventually, the butler flashed me that pointed look that can only mean, “This interview is over now.” I politely thanked Ms. Storm and collected my things, thanking her for the gift of her precious time and excusing myself. After leaving the estate, I took one last wistful look back at the tarnished gables and overgrown landscaping that perfectly encapsulated the decadence that has overtaken the mind of Toni Storm. There is no point in debating the finer points of reality with someone like her. When all is said and done, reality is what you make it. And she has made her reality into something unforgettable and grand.
You might call it madness, but there is undeniably a method to it. Whether on the big screen or the same screen, “Timeless” Toni Storm is a big star.

To say that you’d never gotten along with Adam Cole would be the biggest understatement of the year. He didn’t give you an explanation for why he looked at you with distaste, but he made plenty of snarky comments about you. Sometimes, you’d thought about asking him why he hates you, but you stopped yourself because it’d be better to avoid him. At least then he wouldn’t start a fight with you. Maybe you said something to him once, you weren’t sure. Not even the Young Bucks knew why he acted the way he did when you came around.
“Are you excited?” The deep voice caught you by surprise, disrupting your thoughts, and you turned around to see your best friend Jay White.
“Is it that obvious?” You chuckle at him when you see him smile at you.
“Just a tad. Hey, is Cole still giving you problems?” He questioned, a present frown growing on his face.
A groan erupted from your chest as you were reminded that he would be at the event tonight. “Unfortunately, yeah he is.”
“Maybe I’ll beat some sense into the fool.” Jay chuckled again before raising his hand to ruffle your hair.
“Don’t you mess with it, she’ll kick your ass.” You hear a voice coming from behind Jay, and turn to see another member of the Bullet Club, El Phantasmo.
“You got what you deserved last time,” you chuckle looking at the taller man. “I warned you not to mess with it.”
“Yeah yeah yeah.” He sighed dramatically before walking over and wrapping you in a tight bear hug.
While distracted by the hug, you didn’t hear Adam approach the three of you, so you were caught off guard when you saw his damp hair in front of you. Thankfully, he had his back to you, which would give you a chance to escape before he could spot you.
“So, Y/n,” Phantasmo started before receiving a glare from you. “What are you most excited for in–” He quickly stopped talking when you punched him in the arm, but it was to late. Cole scoffed before he turned around glaring daggers into you.
“Yeah, Y/n, what are you excited for?” You rolled your eyes at the way he worded the question, and you didn’t even have to look to know that Jay would be wearing an angry expression.
“Well, Adam, she has to be looking forward to her match, because she’ll be worth watching.” Phantasmo spoke up, only to bow his head when Adam looked his way.
“No, you don’t get to do that Cole. Phantasmo is a friend, and you don’t get to take out whatever frustrations you have with me out on him. And for the record, I’m excited for Jay to kick your ass tonight. You clearly see who I’m voting for.” You use your thumb to point to the Bullet Club logo on your jacket, and smirk at Adam, who returned his gaze to you.
When Jay offered you a spot in Bullet Club, you accepted within seconds of his question. It meant that you’d be travelling between Japan and AEW more often, but jet lag was never something you feared.
“Whatever, I’ll see you out there Jay.” Adam spoke before walking off, brushing his shoulder roughly with yours.
Sighing, you shook your head, and walked off in the other direction towards the guerilla. You were to be walking out with the club for each of their matches. For Jay’s match however, you were strictly going to join the commentary team.
When you spotted both Matt and Nick in guerilla, you knew that their match would be next, and that El Phantasmo and Hikuleo would be there any moment. As you turn to speak to the boys, you notice Hiku walking over, so you give him a nod and a smile to greet him. Seconds after that, Phantasmo appeared behind you, waving to everyone in the group.
“Jay mentioned that you were going to commentary?” Phantasmo questioned looking at you.
“I’ll be there for his match yeah.” You replied.
“What about this one?” Nick asked as he bounced back and forth on the balls of his feet.
“You’ll see me at ringside. I can’t miss out on seeing the Young Bucks wearing Bullet Club gear for the last time ever.” You giggle as both boys smile and pose. When you hear their music begin to play, you raise your fingers into the ‘too sweet’ motion, and the guys do as well.
~~~
“Y/n, as the only Bullet Club member signed to the AEW roster, how does it feel to see your friends here?” Schiavone popped the question.
“Well, Tony, how would you think it feels? Being here, alone, as you reminded me, isn’t an easy task. I have to carry the weight of Bullet Club ever signing here on my shoulders. But, it is great to see Jay White, El Phantasmo, and Hikuleo here.” You explain.
Still being able to watch the match on your monitor, you could notice that when Adam dropped, he landed wrong. To see another talent injured is never something you’d want to see in your career, but when you noticed him in pain, you wanted to rush down to the ring. Jay’s face appearing on your monitor caught you off guard, he only held up one finger, but you knew this was his way of telling you to stay.
“Wow, did you see the way Adam went down?” Excalibur questioned.
“That just proves Jay White knows what he’s doing when he steps into the ring. Something we’ve said from the start.” You reply, wincing at your own words. For the sake of the show, you couldn’t worry on mic about Adam, and you had to keep yourself in character, but it pained you to see the way he winced as he moved.
Finally, Jay landed the pin, and the match was officially over. Quickly, you removed the headset off, and you walked down the ramp, making it to the ring to celebrate with Jay. He wrapped you into a hug, a smile on his face from his victory.
“He’s hurt.” Jay whispered, only soft enough for you to hear.
As people cleared out of the ring, you could spot Adam struggling to walk, and both you and Jay rolled out to help him in the back. He tried to refuse the help from you at first, but gave in when he almost fell over. Immediately, Doc Sampson was able to see him, and you rushed him to the medical area backstage. People were crowding around to see how Cole was holding up, but you shooed them all away, stating that the doctor needed to work on him first.
~~~
When it was announced that Adam would need time off due to injury, your heart sank in your chest. He wasn’t a friend, he wasn’t your boyfriend, he was simply someone who hated you, but you still felt awful about it. You tried to excuse it as he was another wrestler, and you understood the pain of hearing you’d be out of action, but truly, you knew that wasn’t it. Which is why it came as a complete shock to you that Adam requested your help with his physical therapy and rehab.
“Hey Adam, how are you?” You questioned, sliding out of your jacket before walking over to him.
“A little better today, how about you?” His voice was soft and sweet, far different than the way it used to be with you.
“I’m alright.” You state before continuing. “You know, I’m still shocked you asked for my help with all this.”
He chuckles at that before speaking up himself. “I’m still in shock that you actually agreed to do it. I know I was a dick to you, and I’m sorry for that.” He bowed his head.
“We all do things we regret.” You smile, placing a hand on his chin, lifting his head.
Adam only simply nods before turning away.
“Why’d you turn away Adam, did I do something wrong?” You question and frown, trying to get a glimpse of a reaction from him.
“No, you never have, that’s the problem. I fell for you, and Kenny told me that I shouldn’t try anything with you, so I was awful to you as a way to avoid my feelings. You didn’t deserve that treatment from me.” He sighed.
“Well then, I’ll just have to tell Kenny to stop meddling in my love life won’t I?” You giggle slightly. “It would have helped if you had come to me Adam, you could’ve saved yourself from being a dick.”
“How could I have? Kenny said you weren’t interested and that’s what led to "I shouldn't try anything.” He still refused to look at you as he bared his chest.
“Kenny didn’t know shit about my feelings, because if he did, he would have told you to go for it.” You stepped, so he had no choice but to look at you. “I have the same feelings Adam. It took me a while to admit it to myself because I thought you hated me, but I do feel the same way.”
“I never hated you Y/n, not once in my life.” He looked at you, and he frowned, because he truly felt awful for hurting you all that time.
“Then kiss me you dork.”

Communicable Horniness - also on AO3
~
5 times Mox walked in on Adam naked, and the 1 time Adam did something about it.
~
My first square for my Bingo card! Bottom right corner, you have been vanquished!
~
The first time Jon Moxley saw Adam’s dick, he was washing up in the AEW showers after their tag match against each other with Pac and Kenny. He always hated the feeling of sweat drying on his thighs, and began to wonder if pants could be an option, as he stepped into the shower before it was even cold. He needed the tacky feeling off of him.
He stretched, the water slowly warming on his aching back but not quickly enough, and was leaning against the wall of the showers when the curtain was wrenched open.
“Jesus Christ!” Adam tried to cover himself. “What, do people not know how to knock in WWE?”
Mox scoffed, pulling the curtain closed. “Do people lie in Ring of Honor? You don’t look all that hung to me.”
Adam opened his mouth to yell back, but the locker room door slammed behind him before he could get the words out.
~
The second time Jon Moxley saw Adam’s dick, it was the paramedic’s fault. They were insisting on checking his hip where something ripped his gear pants during Double or Nothing.
“I’m fine!” Adam said, trying to bat away the hands of a 23-year-old who was trying really hard to earn his paycheck. He twisted, but the fabric snagged on the kid’s finger and ripped a full line across his crotch. He froze, slightly panicked, and didn’t realize he was facing the door until it swings open.
“Yo, I got a – oh, shit.” Mox chuckled, looking Adam up and down. “Cold in here, Cowboy?” He bit at the hem of his stupid hoodie sleeve with the stupid holes for the thumbs and walked backward out of the room, never taking his eyes from Adam’s crotch.
~
The third time, it was entirely Adam’s own damned fault. He’s man enough to admit it, even if it is embarrassing.
He should have double checked to lock the door to the bathroom, but he had to piss so bad he skipped that crucial step. The worst was that he was almost finished when the door banged open and an infuriatingly familiar, laughing voice shouted. “Draining the hog? More like a piglet.”
“How the fuck do you keep doing this?!”
The cackling continued as the door closes, and Adam considered full on murdering Moxley at Forbidden Door.
~
The fourth time it happened, Adam was pretty sure Mox was doing it on purpose. The Elite, the whole group of them, were assigned a locker room to themselves with EMTs ready to patch them up once the match is over. Adam kept glancing over at Kota, not sure if he was allowed to joke with him yet about how the EMTs are probably for him. For once the first time in a while, Mox wasn’t his biggest concern. He thought he would be safe from Mox, who he has now started referring to as the Penis Peeper in his head.
“Dick,” Adam muttered, adjusting his hair as he thought back to not only the previous matches but also all the walk ins.
Matt turned, looking hurt. “What? Did I do something?”
“Not you!” Adam said. “Jesus. Not you. Moxley.”
“Oh,” Matt sighed, relaxing. “Definitely. He’s the worst. Did you know he cornered me in the hallway last Dynamite?”
Adam wasn’t sure it was jealousy that welled in his chest, but he also couldn’t be sure it wasn’t. “He did?”
Matt nodded, going ham on the spray tan. “I thought he was gonna kiss me, but then Tony walked by and barked at me about some EVP meeting I was apparently late for and he ran off.” He examined himself in the mirror, frowned, and sprayed another jet directly on his chest. “He’s so weird.”
“Yeah,” Adam muttered. “Super weird.”
Matt met his eyes in the mirror, a knowing little smirk on his lips. “You’re being weird, too.”
“Am not!”
Matt rolled his eyes. “Look, if you want to go bang Moxley, go bang him.”
“I don’t – that is not –” Adam had a whole argument he was prepared to make, and he definitely wasn’t about to flounder in front of Matt booboo eyes Jackson of all people, but he didn’t get a chance.
“Guys,” Nick said, throwing open the door. “Tony has the preliminary contracts ready for us. Wants us to check in before the match.”
“Shit,” Adam muttered. “Yeah, okay, y’all go. I’ll catch up in a minute.” Nick and Matt scampered out of the room in a whirl, and Adam took his time to get his gear on, to look presentable. As much as he enjoyed his gimmick, the cowboy look never screamed “professional” and he wanted to get it as close as possible before going in for the meeting that might pay for his house.
“Shit,” he muttered. He pushed his gear pants down his hips, marveling at how he managed to put them on backwards, and stumbled a little as he tried to take them off while his boots were still on.
The door banged open without knocking and Adam shrieked, falling over tangled in his pants as he glared at the intruder.
“Oh,” Mox said, looking down at him. “Huh. I was gonna say something, but now you’re on the floor, so I feel like you’ve humiliated yourself enough for me.” His gaze was unmissably on Adam’s dick. “Still confused why they call you Hangman.”
Adam didn’t have the energy, time, or wherewithal to go after Mox, but made sure to fuck him up halfway to oblivion during Blood and Guts for retaliation.
~
The fifth time, it was on his terms. Mox was predictable at that point. All Adam had to do was lay the trap.
“I still think it’s weird,” Nick said, shaking his head as he and Adam move the couch. “If he wants to sleep with you, why doesn’t he just ask?”
“Because Jon Moxley don’t just do anything,” Adam explained. “I have to beat him at his own game.” It sounded reasonable to his ears, but Nick shot a look at him that was almost pitying.
“If this backfires, don’t come crying to me.”
“There’s two sex jokes in there I could make, but, being your friend, I will not force you to listen to them,” Adam said. He considered it pretty magnanimous of him, but Nick rolled his eyes in response.
“I think you’ve had enough Mox matches that you’re getting as weird as he is,” Nick sighed. “Communicable horniness or whatever.”
“I’m surprised you know the word communicable.”
Nick threw a shoe at Adam, who ducked it. “If you don’t want me to help, I can leave, right now.”
“Okay, I’m sorry for being a dick,” Adam said, trying to look sheepish. “How do you think I can freak him out most?”
Nick frowned, thinking. “I have an idea, but don’t think I’m weird.”
That’s how Adam ended up, stark naked stretched out on the couch, posed like Burt Reynolds.
He was painfully aware of the chill in the room as he waited. Mox usually interrupted before his own match or after Adam’s, so, without a match of his own, he figured he could lounge and wait for Mox to be done. The TV in the top corner of the room played Mox’s match against Fenix. He found himself getting antsy, watching Mox, and he began to stroke himself before he even realized he was doing it. He licked his lips as Mox got the pin, as the BCC got into the ring to continue the beatdown on Fenix. He shouldn’t have been so into the aggression from Mox, he knew it, but he kept slowly stroking himself. He used the excuse that, maybe, this’ll shut Mox up about Adam’s not being hung.
Mox swung out of the ring and Adam realized that, if he kept this up, Mox might walk in on him covered in his own come with a soft dick.
And Adam was not going to have that shit at all.
Reluctantly, Adam pulled his hand off his dick and flexed his fingers as he tried to settle back into the couch to look as nonchalant and bitchy as possible. Staring at the door felt a bit silly, but Adam wouldn’t be caught off guard.
It wasn’t until the next match started that he heard the boots stomping down the hall. He arranged himself as best he could, and waited.
Mox threw open the door to the locker room, and froze. Adam grinned at him as Mox took the whole of him in, naked, stretched on the couch, hard dick curved up toward his belly.
“You’re naked.”
“That’s your whole MO, isn’t it?” Adam retorted. “You walk in on me naked, make fun of my dick.” He pointed to it. “Where’s your joke now, tough guy?”
Mox made a weird noise like a scared squirrel and started backing toward the door. “Um. Yeah. You, uh.” He nodded and cleared his throat. “I’m gonna go.”
Adam shrugged, like this wasn’t confusing the shit out of him. “Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.”
Mox took one last look at Adam on the couch, then spins and walks out the door.
Adam, baffled and confused, lay on the couch with his dick hard as a rock, and couldn’t help himself from getting off to the memory of Mox’s face when he got a good look at Adam’s dick.
~
The sixth time Jon Moxley saw his dick, Adam ran into him in the lobby of their hotel for All In. Adam had just finished a gym session, anxiously preparing for the match of a lifetime the next evening, when he ran into the one person who could skyrocket his anxiety later. Mox saw him, froze, and started to walk away, but Adam was done. The jet lag, the confusion, the goddamned pressure built and crested. It needed a place to go.
“Alright,” he growled. He grabbed Mox by the collar of his dumb leather jacket, soft and supple under his fingers, and chucked him into the elevator. “You weird fuckin’ prick, what’s with you and walking in on me all the time, then running away the one time I get ahead of you?”
Mox blinked, like he wasn’t expecting a question. “Huh?”
“You keep getting me naked in front of you and never – ” Never do anything about it is what he was about to say, but Adam stopped himself.
Mox grinned. “Oh. What?”
Adam glared at him, fighting the urge to shove Mox up against the wall. “Fuck off.”
“No,” Mox said. He took a few steps closer, so close Adam could kiss him with just a tilt of the head, and he hated that that’s where his mind went. “I don’t think you want me to.”
Adam laughed, and he licked his lips before he could stop himself. He reached out and pressed the 4. “What’s your floor?” he asked in a voice so low it was almost a whisper.
“Why?” Mox asked. “You want to have a sleepover?”
Adam kissed him before he thought about it – just dove in, mouth on Moxley’s like he was trying to draw out every snarky comment left in there.
And that’s how he ended up here, hilt deep inside of Jon Moxley, with a smile on his face. Adam reflects on all the previous times as he slides his hand up Mox’s spine to push him flat on the mattress.
“Still think I’m not hung?” Adam asks, gripping Mox’s hips. “Huh? Like this cock now?”
“Always did,” Mox gasps with a laugh. “I – fuck – always found excuses to see it, didn’t I?”
Adam slows down his pace, leaving Mox pushing back against him, fucking down on Adam’s cock so emphatically Adam almost can’t tear his eyes away. “You did, didn’t you?” He slows down even more, watching the way Mox moves. “This explains so much.”
“Got what I wanted, didn’t I?” Mox says. “Barely even had to ask.”
Adam picks up the pace again, earning a delighted groan from Mox. “Don’t act like you’re the smug one here.”
Mox curls his fingers of one hand into the sheet and curls the other around his own cock, panting into the sheets as he grunts and comes. Adam can feel it like a vice around him, and he loses track of how long it is before he can’t hold out anymore. He feels his mind clear as he empties the last of it into Mox and falls to brace himself on the mattress.
He curls over Mox’s body, panting, and realizes the other sound he hears is Mox laughing.
“What’s so goddamned funny?”
Mox shuffles, Adam’s softening cock slipping out of him, and flips over so he can smirk up at Adam with his hands behind his head. “I can’t believe it fucking worked.”
Adam blinks at him. “Come again?”
“I mean, not so soon, but sure.”
Adam rolls his eyes. “I meant – what worked?”
Mox lips his lips and his grin gets infuriating. “I knew you wouldn’t get in bed with me unless I got creative with it.”
“So you made fun of my dick until it was in you,” Adam surmises. “God, I wish a single thing you did any more surprised me.”
“This surprised you,” Mox says with a shrug. “You can’t tell me you expected to end up in my hotel room tonight.”
Adam opens his mouth to argue, because that’s pretty much a habit with Mox at this point, when he realizes he has nothing.
“See?” Mox says. “I surprised you.”
Before Adam can retort, Mox surprises him again.
He pulls Adam down in a kiss, and smiles into it.

Yuta holds the phone between his shoulder and ear as he unlocks the door, and he can hear Roman laughing at him.
“I can hear you struggling baby boy.”
“How about you shut up, Roman.” He chuckles and can hear the twins in the background laughing at them.
“How is everything going since your birthday?” Roman asks suddenly and it makes Yuta pause. “Yuta? Please tell me he’s not being an ass again.”
“No! No Ro he’s been really sweet actually.” He says as he kicks his shoes off and putting them and his bag away in his cubby by the door. “And I don’t mean he’s overdoing it. He’s just- it’s like it used to be and that’s how I want it. We train, we cook together, and we just do things with each other again. I love it.” He sighs happily and smiles when he hears a rumble from Roman.
“Good, I’m glad to hear and I know Seth will be happy to hear it too.” Yuta stops in the doorway of the living room, and he knows he has a dumb smile on his face. “Baby? You still there?”
“Can I call you back, alofa?” Bryan lets out a small chuckle and pats the sofa cushion next to him.
“Everything okay?” Bryan waves his hand for the phone as Yuta sits down and puts the phone on speaker.
“Everything’s great Big Dog but I’m gonna steal him for the rest of the day. Is that okay with you?” Yuta laughs softly when Bryan places a kiss at his temple.
“Yeah, you two have fun and text me later. I love you both and tell everyone else I love them too.”
“We will! We love you Ro and tell Seth the same. I’ll text you definitely before bed.” Yuta calls out and Bryan says the same before hanging up the phone. “So, what’s all this?” He asks as he looks at the blankets and snacks.
“Well, I figured that since we have some time to ourselves with Mox and Claudio being gone and Regal taking care of some business with MJF, we could spend some time together.”
“Where’s Renee?” He asks as he lays back against Bryan.
“She decided that since she’s not needed at AEW until Wednesday she would go meet with Seth and surprise Roman.” Yuta smiles when he feels Bryan kiss his cheek.
“What are we watching?” He turns his head to look his Dragon when he starts to laugh.
“There’re some episodes of WWF that I’ve wanted to show you. An old lumberjack/working man gimmick of William’s that he’d never let me show you if he were here.” Yuta leans forward to grab the remote and one of the snacks from the table, handing the remote to Bryan.
He settles back against his boyfriend and covers them with a blanket. “Oh! Mox has talked about this before, but I haven’t looked the episodes up.” He says excitedly as he holds some popcorn over his shoulder for Bryan to take and blushing when he eats it from his fingers.
They get comfortable as one of the episodes start only making noise when they laugh. After a few episodes they decide to move to when Regal came back to the WWF and follow their older lover’s career at the Fed. He even jokingly changed William’s ringtone to the Real Man’s Man entrance song.
“That’s your gear!” Yuta points out and it makes Bryan laugh.
“I’ve never told you about that?” At Yuta’s head shake, Bryan jumps into the story of how Regal gave him the gear and Yuta can’t help but be mesmerized at the happiness in his boyfriend’s voice.
*****
“I can’t believe they got away with this crap!” Yuta states wide eyed and shocked. “I mean I get that it was like the Wild West and no holds barred but what the fuck?”
“Yeah, they pushed a lot of limits back then. I think Hunter once said that he almost got fired because of some the stuff DX did. They edited out the really awful scenes, but it was pretty bad.”
They both hear the door open and close. “Darlings? I’m sorry I’m late but I’m home now.” Yuta smiles happily as their English lover appears in the doorway and he hops off the couch to greet him.
“Welcome home!” He leans up slightly and kisses him before helping him out of his jacket and belt.
“Thank you, Sunshine.” He takes the jacket and belt upstairs quickly and comes back to see Bryan and William kissing, watching them pull away when they notice him back. “Are you two hungry or are you full on snacks and such?”
“We have snacks William so why don’t you just come join us? Mox and Claudio won’t be back until tomorrow and we have plenty of snack food to fill us up until breakfast tomorrow.” Yuta doesn’t give him a chance to say no as he grabs his hand and pulls him to the couch.
“I believe I have not been given much of a choice, have I?” Yuta gently pushes him down into the nest of blankets and sits in between Regal and Bryan.
“Hm, no I don’t think I’m gonna give you choice, your chest happens to be one of my favorite pillows and I feel like I haven’t gotten to see you in forever so I’m going to take advantage of our time.” William opens his mouth to speak but Yuta cuts him off with a deep kiss and pulls back to situate himself and William so that he can lay on his chest.
“I think it’s just best you do what our Yoots says William and lay here with us.” Their Dragon says as he puts Yuta’s feet in his lap and rearranges the bigger blanket over all three of them.
Yuta purrs as Regal runs a hand through his hair and he cuddles deeper into the Englishman’s chest. “What are you two watching?”
“2001 of WWF, Mr. Commissioner.” Yuta and Bryan burst out laughing when Regal yanks on Yuta’s hair for the statement.
*****
“Have any of you seen my phone? I had to use Bryan’s phone last night to call Roman, but I still can’t find it.” He says as he looks around where they were laying the night before.
“Don’t worry my Sunshine, I can call it.” Yuta’s eyes widen and Regal’s already pressing his name as he tries to stop him.
“Wait-.” His face turns beet red as the Real Man’s Man ringtone blares out from the couch cushions and Regal just stares at him as Bryan is dying laughing from the kitchen.
“I-is that my old entrance music, Sunshine?” William asks as he’s trying not to smile.
“And if I say no?” Yuta asks as he finally finds his phone and shuts it up and puts it on silent. “I’m not changing it.” He says as he passes William and gives him a quick kiss before hurrying into the kitchen with Bryan, listening to his oldest lover burst out laughing. “Shut up, Bry.”
Bryan puts his hands in the air. “I didn’t say anything.” He states in between laughter.
I'm alive! I just forgot to post two of my stories lol! This is the sequel to Do You Still Love Me? My darling big polycule and the light of my life 😍
Thank you for reading and I hope you like it! 😘

The Nanny: Eddie Kingston and You
Part Five
Tumblr media
Part 4
Eddie’s POV
I searched her name in twitter and Instagram again and no results are shown. I know she blocked me because I was checking her pages daily before she asked me out.
I felt like shit turning her down. If I was just even 5 years younger than her it would have been me asking her out. But she is too young and sweet for me.
Not knowing what she has been up to is driving me insane. All I see when I think about her is the way her eyes filled up with tears, but still smiling when she said “no worries.” I tell myself I just want to check up on her and make sure she’s okay.
That’s not true though, it’s because I’m a selfish bastard and I know I can’t have her. But that doesn’t mean I want anyone else to have her. “God damn it.” I throw my phone on the locker room bench and ignore the strange looks I get from Cash and Dax.
I get up and head to catering thanking god AEW is in Florida tonight. I can just go straight home and try to drink my misery away.
Jon is in the hallway talking to Renee, holding Stella. I say hey to both of them and ask Renee how Stella has been and what they have been up to. My best friends sees right through me. He rolls his eyes tells me “if you want to find out what y/n has been up too, just go talk to her.” And Jon nods towards where catering is.
I should pretend not to know what he’s talking about or roll my eyes. Do something to act like I don’t have feelings for her, but like an asshole I walk right towards catering.
For some reason I assumed she would be sitting by herself, maybe reading or playing on her phone. I didn’t think she would be laughing and talking to Anthony Bowens. There is no reason to be jealous. I go over the reasons in my head as I go straight for the peanut butter chocolate pie.
She isn’t mine. She’s just making friendly conversation. Anthony is in a happy relationship. Anthony likes men. He has a boyfriend. Y/N isn’t mine. I know she saw me. She’s so fucking sweet, she even smiled and gave me a cute little wave, even with her face turning pink.
I’m such an asshole. I don’t smile at her, I just nod my head at her and sit at a table close enough to watch her, but not close enough to eavesdrop on her conversation.
She’s laughing at something Anthony is saying and giving him a high five. When we were building the playhouse, she put her hand up for a high five after we finally get the roof up. I rolled my eyes before giving in. Her hand was so soft and small compared to mine. My perverted fucked up mind went right to what it would look like wrapped around my dick.
Anthony is waving people over and I can see it’s the crew he usually hangs with top flight and Hook. Mox and I call them the young boys. They are good guys who respect the business and the old guys like me backstage.
I sit and watch the table chat and Y/N of course has every one of them wrapped around her finger. She doesn’t even notice it, she’s just so sweet. I should be happy for her she deserves someone who is just as young and happy as she is.
But when I see them all exchanging phone numbers, my heart starts beating a little faster. It’s an awkward time too late for lunch and too early for dinner making it less crowded in the room and I can overhear bits of their conversation. Something about going to a club later tonight.
Something inside me snaps and I’m in front of their table just glaring at them all. They finally notice me, my voice is rough when I say “I don’t think Mox would appreciate you taking up his kids nanny time when she should be working.” I storm out and go find a place to smoke before I can even hear a reply back from them.

GAME OF THE YEAR ("GOTY") (as they call it) 20222
Fellas!!!!! Howsit going Tumblr, felt like writing about video game again because my brain loves video games! I like thinking about video games more than actually playing them! There’s plenty of us out there who watched a baker’s million video essays in their adolescence and have been poisoned (PLAGUED... even) with gaming knowledge and insights. And I’m one of them!!!!!!!!!!! So here it is, Y'INZ... my top 300 games of christian year 2022.
And just to preface before one of you FREAKS gets any funny ideas, I think basing your GOTY lists on just what released in a given calendar year is bogus! If you do this, GET OUT OF HERE! If you only play the newest games on your PS5 and don't even look at anything released before 2018, everyone at the lunch table thinks you smell weird. So put on some antiperspirant and play freaking Halo Combat Evolved for pete's sake! (EDITOR'S NOTE: Despite this joke, Richard has not yet completed Halo: Combat Evolved despite owning it.)
HONORABLEST MENTION
Sometimes you have a list that has honorable mentions. me too!
Mario Kart 8 Booster Course Pass (Nintendo Switch)
This is actually not very good since it's just cheap mobile game levels imported into the MK8 engine. Unfortunately I love giving Nintendo money AND happen to think that playing Mario Kart after a hard day at the mine shaft is pretty relaxing. So even if they imported levels from like Forza Motorsport I think I would like that.
Sonic Origins (Nintendo Switch)
Is this even really a game to rank on a list like this? 30 year old Genesis remakes shoddily copy pasted into the Hedgehog Engine for some reason? With extra content really not worth engaging with? Ehhhh whatever man, this guy has Sonic 3 in it. You ever play Sonic 3 before? If not go do that instead and come back ONLY IF you've completed at least Flying Battery Zone. I would go further but I'd totally understand if you stop playing after pushing the Sandopolis blocks.
WWE 2K22 (PS5)
Regrettably, the newest outing from 2K Sports and WWE is probably my second most played game on this list. Not that this game is even bad, I mean it is probably the best WWE game in the last 10 years. Tons of modes, good visuals, cool roster. I played the banana slamma outta this game for like a month. But then I realized I was having more fun assigning championships to created guys on my roster to match the week-to-week championship histories of modern WWE and AEW rather than, you know, actually playing it. So I haven't touched this in about seven months. Something about the moment-to-moment gameplay of 2K just doesn't engage me at all, feels too slow but also not impactful enough to match how wrestling actually feels to watch. Feels faker than the real thing, believe it or not.
Ship of Harkinian (PC)
This only didn't make the list since, I mean like it's Ocarina of Time from 1998 which I first played in 2010 and have replayed approximately 8 times. But I've been waiting for something like this since the Ocarina of Time source code was 100% decompiled late last year, and the fellas over on the King's ship have given me everything I wanted. 60 FPS gameplay, tons of tweaks to improve on OOT's core features, support for nearly every device under God's watchful glare, controller remapping AND analog camera. Still doesn't look as good as the 3DS version but if you choose to play Nintendo Switch Online version rather than this you are under arrest.
OK THIS IS THE LIST EVERYTHING BEFORE WAS NOT REAL
16. Super Kiwi 64 (PC)
I remember picking up this game while being stressed out about going to a social function. The sales pitch for me was simple: it plays like an N64 platformer AND you can beat it in an hour.
As someone who has more games in his backlog than iPhone chargers in his plastic bag of chargers (pictured), it feels good sometimes to just... crank one out y'know? One session of non-stop platforming and you never have to worry about it again. Pure dopamine to your chrome dome.
It helps that SK64 is a pretty fun time too. With controls so fluid that I don't think I messed up one of my thousands of jumps, levels which are just the right about of expansive as to not be too imposing or restrictive, and a story which makes me grin to the edge of my cheek bone but not further, this is an easy recommend for people of my age range and taste in gaming.
15. Astro's Playroom (PS5)
That's right gaming public, PROOF that I own a PS5. I purchased that white block of solid matter in January after realizing the sheer amount of gaming experiences I was missing by not being in the PlayStation ecosystem. Of course, directly after making the plunge, one of my main PS holdouts I thought would never release on PC (Spider-Man (2018)), well, did. So I haven't really used my PS5 as much as I probably should have for a $500 investment. My fault, of course, for being bad with money.
But for the brief three hours that I was playing Astro's Playroom, I was not thinking these things. Not that I was absolutely head over heels in love, just that I thought, "hey! this little (big) ps5 system ain't so bad! it has this cute little robot game where I can be surrounded by playstation propaganda and murder the dinosaur from the ps1 tech demo!"
I put this game right above Kiwi since they are both pretty short but the sheer effort put into Astro's presentation just notches it a little ahead. You can tell the devs of this loved making it and, hey, I loved playing it too. A little bit. Not $500 love but maybe $10 over the course of 50 years love.
14. Mario's Super Picross (SNES) (by way of Switch Online)
Much like Kiwi, I played the majority of Picross this year while being stressed out over a social arrangement. But while the social arrangement surrounding Kiwi's purchase and playtime was honestly not that bad and I was just being an anxious little bear, the social arrangement surrounding Picross was a wedding. A wedding I had no friends to go there with, taking place 6 hours away with a crowd full of people who went to Liberty University. Needless to say I was dreading the days leading up to this thing. I distinctly remember sitting there, in my rented Airbnb quite literally just in someone's house, thinking to myself, "why the fuck am I here in someone's house for a wedding I will not have fun at?"
So instead of thinking that, I got lost in Picross. While a game I've certainly heard plenty about, Picross seemed to me like it would be confusing to learn and not super fun for me to play. But all it took was a friend explaining the basics to this Japanese-language-only game for me to figure it out. The game started with easy 5x5 puzzles to get my feet wet with the idea of breaking blocks to match the numbers on each row and column. But before I knew it, I was staring down the barrel of a 25x20 board with 30 minutes to figure everything out. And the cool part was that I didn't necessarily feel overwhelmed by that point. The concept had seeped itself into my head that much.
I'll definitely be playing more of this game in the future. I don't think I've even completed a quarter of this game's gargantuan list of puzzles. I kind of don't want to complete this one because I know if I do I'll be sent down the rabbit's hell of Picross games. That puzzle debt is too great for me at the moment.
13. Sonic Frontiers (PC)
Nearly two years ago, I wrote a bunch of words about Sonic on this very blog that ended with this pretentious garbage:
I don’t want SEGA to half ass [the next Sonic game]. I want them to boldly step into that abyss with a vision of Sonic that appeals to the heart of the fandom. Because, even if it’s been down recently, that heart is still beating, and after the abuse it’s already taken, it’s going to take a hell of a lot to get it to stop. And if SEGA can get this heart pumping to its full extreme as it had in years past, we may have something legendary to look forward to.
And, uhh, that kind of happened? Sonic fans seemingly across the board (or as much across the board of lavishly online Sonic nerds as you can get) are utterly in love with Sonic Frontiers for appealing straight into the heart of early 2000s Sonic fandom.
There's plenty about this game that I can look at and say with certainty that I absolutely love. These main four hedgehog et al characters have never been written this well in a mainline title of the series. At its best, Sonic running around the open world is a straight up good time. And the three titan boss themes have been permanently stuck in my headphones and may be some of my favorite songs of the past several years.
So its a shame then that Sonic Frontiers doesn't quite come together very well. The gameplay loop just feels kind of... random to me in a way that no other game in the series has ever been. In a four hour Sonic Frontiers review podcast (*shudder*) JebTube calls some of the challenges that open the map up "Among Us tasks" which may have just ruined that part of the game for me. More than anything, though, the controls just don't quite stick the landing for me. You feel pretty magnetized to the ground even when running off a ledge, which feels pretty strange when the very foundation of this series is based on being launched up a vertical slope into the air.
Still, it's hard not to respect what SEGA was able to accomplish with this one. Harping on potential is often a fool's errand but sometimes, with a media property that has spat you into the dirt more often than not, its hard not to cling onto that potential so that hope isn't totally lost.
12. Sonic Triple Trouble 16-Bit (PC)
Thankfully, even if the mainline Sonic releases are spotty, fanmade content has kept the spirit alive and beating. And this title, made entirely by one guy (Noah Copeland of bearded twitter PFP fame), is the latest in the Sonic fandom's absolute service to older games in the series. From the Retro Engine decomp releases to mods that force games like Adventure DX and Heroes kicking and screaming to the operating table, Sonic fans love improving on older games. Because we love those games. And preserving the core of what made those games so special while improving on the many objective flaws they may have it's the highest tribute you could possibly make to it.
Triple Trouble 16-Bit may be the shining example of this phenomenon. The base of this remake is in an already decent Game Gear game released in 1994, at the height of Sonic's popularity. But it's just too hard to play those Game Gear games in the modern day. There's a certain retro crappiness that comes with playing a game like that, with cropped aspect ratios and 3rd rate visuals bringing down a decent concept. With a fresh Genesis inspired coat of paint and enough tweaks to the overall package that make things way better to actually play, Copeland's project is pretty clearly the only way to play that game right now.
Seeing this game given such love and care makes me yearn for this treatment for other older Sonic games. Like, hear me out OK? Sonic Rush. 16:9 widescreen. No screen switching weirdness to make it easy for modern screens. CD quality soundtrack. Turn down the trick SFX. And tweak the level design to not be so unforgiving. I would do that but I'm a talentless hack!
11. Spider-Man Remastered (PS5)
When I purchased my PS5 earlier this year, I had two games in mind to play on it. One of them was Spider-Man, which has been taunting me for the last five years since its unveiling at one of those old E3 shows. Swinging around like the red guy is just one of those innately fun ideas, I think. Kids think it when looking outside the car window. Adults think it when looking outside their office's window. I want to jump out of here and swing around monkey-style!
Really, Spider-Man only needed to do that right and, shocker, it does do the swinging right. It doesn't even really matter that the open world is in New York, the pinnacle of urban homogeneity and therefore not an incredibly fun world to look around in. New York City skyscrapers were tailor-made for web swinging and video games have been trying to capture that magic for 40 years. You can argue that the 2004 Spider-Man 2 game has a bit more depth to it, but 2018's version is just so smooth and effortless. Really makes me feel like Sp-
Of course there's a story and structure to this game too. Which were both fine. Both serviceable, both doing exactly what they needed to and nothing more. Which probably is bad if you like Spider-Man more for its narrative. But also you don't exist, I had just made up a guy in my head.
10. Dark Souls II (PC)
The end of 2021 revealed to me one crucial detail - I like Dark Souls and Soulslike games after years of failed attempts. This realization occurring conveniently before the release of FromSoftware's next behemoth Elden Ring. So the race was on - how many Soulsborne games developed by FromSoftware could I complete before getting to Elden Ring?
In January, all eyes turned to Dark Souls II as the immediate next step after slaying Lord Gwyn. I've heard a lot about it, not all positive of course. There's a lot of annoying little things about this one. The controls feel a little weird. The health bar is constantly going down. The levels feel kind of samey and lack a ton of level-to-level cohesion. The bosses are truly all over the place.
But, like, Dark Souls 1 had a lot of problems too. So why did I not love this one as much? The gameplay loop involved in tackling monumental challenge is still as fun as ever, and none of the areas are truly repulsive in quality or anything. Maybe it's the fact that I can't really remember much about the experience that says it all here. Still, I had a good time messing around with this one, and even from the bit I experimented with it looks like replaying DSII is definitely worth it.
9. Risk of Rain 2 (PC)
Gamer confession time - I do not care for Roguelikes. I've tried, believe me I've tried. Isaac, Gungeon, Necrodancer, Spelunky, none of these ever did anything for me. So what were these missing? At risk of going on too much of a tangent, let's just keep it simple. They didn't have multiplayer.
Risk of Rain 2, has multiplayer. And just by nature of that one addition, I'm sold on the idea of randomly generated runs of similar content. What can I say? Reacting to the different events in every run is a lot more fun when there's people to react with. Tackling the challenge of getting to the end of a 90 minute run is a lot more satisfying when it's a group effort. And learning the game's mechanics and intricacies by asking a question to a human is a lot more engaging than doing so to a Fandom page.
You know what else Risk of Rain 2 has? Loader. Gosh damped Loader is in this game. Loader has a grapple hook that can fling her across the level AND can uppercut small critters. I want to be her when I'm robotic and dead.
8. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (PC)
Star Wars is kind of exhausting to engage with. Thankfully, beyond being another piece of the Disney media machine, Jedi Fallen Order is a pretty fun game as well.
I had this game on my backlog for about two years and I'm glad I finally got to it. The main make or break for me, the Metroid-enjoyer of my friend circle, is how the levels would be laid out to incentivize exploration and finding essential movement-based items along the way to facilitate progress. And while not as good as, say, Metroid Prime in that regard, Jedi Fallen Order hits a lot of those beats. I didn't even think there'd be a double jump in this game (for some reason) but when I got one it immediately made me think of all the new areas I could explore with that new ability. Combat is pretty fun here as well, with a slew of abilities both involving your saber and your force hands to obliterate the white menace (Stormtroopers) and all rats that come from the dirt.
Taken as just a game, it's a good time, albeit one that feels like a mashup of a lot of other successful game ideas and mechanics. But when all these mechanics and features are wrapped in a cozy Star Wars shaped wrapping paper along with a gift card to "Actually Tells an Interesting Story of Regret and Acceptance Without Relying Too Heavily on Star Wars Tropes And Areas," maybe it comes together better than the sum of its parts.
7. Splatoon 3 (Nintendo Switch)
Boy howdy, do I love giving money to Nintendo. One of my favorite pastimes, that and sitting. I'll be honest though, I wasn't too keen on engaging with Splatoon 3 up to launch. Nothing really grabbed me as someone who only liked Splatoon 1 and 2. To be honest, I was more of a fan of the single player modes of those earlier games. So if anything, I would just get it for the campaign. Which would have been fine, Splat 3's story takes the best of Octo Expansion's creative level ideas into a wild story that ends with a cool boss fight, like expected.
What I didn't expect was for one of Splatoon 3's multiplayer modes to make a believer out of me, which did end up happening. Not turf war though, at least not really. Still only think that mode is alright at best and infuriating at worst. Or Ranked/Anarchy, sweating in Splatoon feels like a recipe for a brain tumor. Splatoon 3's biggest win is the new Salmon Run. Well, "new" isn't really accurate since its mostly the same thing as Splatoon 2's mode. However, Splatoon 3 surprised millions and soared above the competition with just one innovative tweak and trick - throwing golden eggs with the A button.
And with that, Salmon Run can be played far more offensively, letting you run around all over the place with your Tri-Slosher while throwing eggs into the net from the lower level of the map. And my golly, when I nail a buzzer beater where the last second egg throw into the net just meets the quota to move onto the next level, I felt more comfortable with parting $20 a year for Nintendo Online than I ever have. Until the next communication error, of course.
6. Dark Souls III (PC)
Dark Souls III, the fifth Demon's Souls game and the fourth game on my Soulsborne list, was made for me by the Abyss Watchers. My experience with those guys is what these games are all about. A brutal challenge which I throw myself at time and time again, originally feeling so hopeless and beaten but gradually growing in both skill and confidence to conquer your fears and goals. Dark Souls III is also made by the Dancer of the Boreal Valley, a beautiful fight befitting of its name in which your rolls and R1 presses must fit in tandem with the bosses enveloping swings and spins. When judging Soulsborne boss fights, DSIII is easily my favorite in the series.
And on the quality of those bosses DSIII sits here on my list. Because the rest of the game is kind of forgettable. Maybe it was just Souls fatigue that did this to me but I really don't remember a whole lot beyond the bosses from this game. I remember the one terrible swamp area that felt like dragging my foot through a... mud... puddle. And I remember the area that was kind of black and white that looped back around on itself. That's about it though, and this Souls fatigue kind of bleeds into the overarching themes of the game, it seems like. This world needed to die, leaving it all in the past to chart new territory. Dark Souls is over, but it's spirit will continually revive into greater things.
5. Cuphead: Delicious Last Course (PC)
I have only played Cuphead as a multiplayer experience. Over the summer of 2019, my roommate and I gorged ourselves in Cuphead's challenge and aesthetic. He would wake me up at around 11am, staring with loving yet needy eyes which told me to get my ass up and back at the setup. Much like Risk of Rain 2, the joy of accomplishment feels all the sweeter when shared, and the journey to get there all the more fun. We even learned the Cuphead barbershop quartet jingle, singing it on the way to Frenchi's to the bereavement of passers by.
At the end of our journey, I distinctly remember feeling excited for the new DLC level to release, as at that point it was scheduled to drop later that year. Less than a year turned into three, and by the time the Cuphead DLC launched for a measly $8, I knew we needed to get together again to experience the heights of beating the piss out of bees and carrots yet again.
Cuphead's Delectable Lone Continuation is, put simply, more Cuphead. It didn't necessarily set to light the world ablaze like last time, but as a fun revisit of the mechanics and aesthetic, DLC was everything I could have wanted. We certainly didn't find it as hard as the end of the base game, given we beat everything within two sessions and five hours. But perhaps we have simply grown as gamers, and as men, since our last time at cartoon town.
4. Spark the Electric Jester 3 (PC)
Spark hit the big time this year, notable since it was the first time the Yellow Lanky Brown-Coated Hat Wearing Clown Man has ever hit my purview. Taken on its own, Spark 3 is an impressive feat for a single developer, as high speed 3D platformers are a tough mix to develop for. You have to simultaneously create large, sprawling landscapes for the characters to traverse through, while being keenly aware that the world is often going to be breezed by in a matter of seconds.
But taken as a culmination of developer Lake Feperd's body of work over the past decade, forged in the fangame scene before tackling the challenges and expectations of original IP, Spark 3 rises ever higher. Comparing footage of the game's two predecessors reveals a steady forming of confidence in how to make games that feel and, more importantly, flow like this. With controls that propel the titular character seamlessly to impressive speed, and level design that facilitates such high speed without becoming too much of a straight line. Developers with higher budgets have been treading this line for years, and often fail to hit the peaks of this wondrous adventure.
High speed doesn't define Spark though, as a character and as a game. There's a lot of thought put into how each level fits into the overarching world. You're not just running through levels for the fun of it, these are genuine places that are inhabited by people. If you stray off the linear path to collect any of the colored coins scattered through each level, you'll find each area is fleshed out beyond the point of necessity. The story is surprisingly deep and moving for a game of this style, with twists and turns that call into question the world you've just blazed through. More than anything, Spark feels like a labor of love, and hopefully that love is reciprocated.
3. The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures (Dolphin)
It's easy to take for granted the emulation paradise we're currently experiencing. Nearly every console ever developed has at least some group of passionate hobbyists working to preserve that hardware and software library therein to players and developers for years to come. Even modern consoles like the Switch and PS4 have impressive emulation solutions right now, with undoubtedly more progress to be made in the coming years.
Most impressively, though, is Dolphin. A combined emulator of the GameCube and Wii consoles, Dolphin has been polished to a mirror's shine. Nearly every game worth playing on these two systems have been made fully compatible, with remaining loose ends being closed every day. If Dolphin closed up shop five years ago, it would still be among the most feature complete emulators to this day, but the continued progress is nothing short of inspiring.
No emulation experience has left me in awe more than when me and three other friends played Four Swords Adventures earlier this year. By linking Dolphin and another GBA emulator (mGBA), utilizing the built in Netplay features in Dolphin to connect to each other, and remapping our controls to better suit modern pads, we were able to play one of the most chaotic, insane, well paced, and ultimately fun co-op experiences Nintendo has ever made. While the original game was hampered by insane accessibility concerns (four GBAs for crying out loud!) and has not been ported officially to anything since, this emulation solution has blown the door open for future players to experience this multiplayer masterpiece well into the future.
2. Elden Ring (PC)
There was no doubt FromSoftware's latest game would hit this list, as it has and will do for the lists of thousands of gaming-obsessed wannabe writers over these past and future months. It's very concept left people in want - an open world Dark Souls game with the highest production values and development time in the Soulsborne semi-franchise. These games' following has progressed far beyond cult, as Elden Ring and its impact caused these games to hit the mainstream. Reverberations of which caused me and my friends to embark on our Souls experience in the preceding months. Along the journey, we fell in love with what was on offer - the world, the design, the challenge, the community, and the sense of achievement, specifically on my end, of finally putting a series that I always knew I would love solidly into one of my favorites.
All roads lead to May, when everyone I knew was either already playing or had just started playing Elden Ring. The experience of early Limgrave is something really special, and it remains my favorite part of the game. Truly no path in this early area is the wrong path. Each story and journey embarked is entirely unique to each of the millions of players. Open world games rarely get this unique part of their appeal; playing games like Spider-Man this year only reinforced this perspective. While each player is bounded to come across some of the same things, the pure scale and density of the world is something to behold, and to experience everything requires commitment and time.
But often, when beholding the monolith of something seemingly insurmountable, motivation is fleeting. Admittedly, after getting through Leyndell and conquering Morgott, I simply ran out of gas. It should have come as no surprise, given I had been gorging myself in Souls content for the preceding months and that Elden Ring on average takes around three times the hours to complete compared to the preceding titles. I took a three month long break from completing its remaining areas, in which even when I got there, I was struck by the quality difference between the early and end game. This is to take nothing away from what Elden Ring achieved, though, and the experience I had playing it. Ultimately, it's an experience I'm glad I had, particularly at the end of my Souls journey. But as the months went on, my experience with Elden Ring was not what stuck with me as the peak of my gaming year.
1. Bloodborne (PS4)
I bought a PS5 to play this game. I've owned Bloodborne for many years, with my first experience occurring in 2015. My time with the game was short, as very soon afterward I was whisked off to college without a PS4 to play with. But much like how the experience of trekking through the Undead Burg and Parish is still baked into my skull even years after first attempting it, I will never forget my first run through Central Yharnam. That packed alleyway full of damned locals wielding nothing but their bare fists and torches to light the way, dimly lit and dankly produced with the pronounced, overwhelming horror of a gothic town gone mad with sickness and death, remains the most striking opening to a Souls game FromSoft has ever made.
I didn't get much further than the Father Gascoigne fight before I stopped playing that first time, but something about those early hours kept drawing me back to Bloodborne. Even when I was pitch broke and jobless in college, I would frequently check for the price of PS4 Slims on Facebook Marketplace to see if I could get one for close to $100. While the PS4 has a great library, with tons of quality titles that I would like to play at some point, only one made me eventually pull the trigger when money was right.
And here I was, March of 2022, having bested Dark Souls 1 and 2 and becoming innately familiar with the Souls series, finally sitting in front of my obnoxiously high latency television that was stating the Bloodborne title screen. At last, I was ready to give this experience another crack. And of course, a master at gaming and gameplay that I am, I still got rocked at this same Central Yharnam graveyard. As I soon learned, knowledge of previous Souls games actually isn't that much of an advantage. You don't play Bloodborne like Dark Souls, a fact I was harshly reminded of going straight from DSII to BB to DSIII. It's been repeated to the point of chronic eye pain at this point, but the lack of shields in Bloodborne really makes a difference in how you trudge through it. This lack of instant defensive options combined with the regain system of getting back health upon hitting an enemy, the insane number of quality trick weapons at your disposal, and the complete lack of things like slow rolling and armor upgrades forces players to approach combat scenarios not so much as a studious, opportunistic Dark Souls player but as a ravenous hound, thirsty for carnage and blood vials.
Which, even in context of the game world, makes sense. You aren't a cursed undead trying to escape a rotten world by resetting the cycle of anguish, escaping this cruel engagement through wits rather than brawn. You're coming here. To this ruinous city on its most vile, violent occasion. The utter definition of eldritch, cosmic horror which unravels slowly and grotesquely as the game progresses. You, in your pride, come here to cure illness. And in your attempt, you find yourself adapting to match the furor and intensity of the beasts you fight in your path. Even if a cure can be found here (it can't), the sickness you receive in return can't be worth the trouble. Beasts all over the shop...
I usually don't think of games like this. I have what my goofy favorite YouTuber NakeyJakey calls goopy goblin gamer brain, a sickness which makes you compare every video game to Super Mario. Gameplay comes first and foremost; it doesn't really matter how it all comes together as long as the core is solid. So perhaps its because Bloodborne quite simply can't get out of my head months after completing it that puts it at the top of my list. The more I think about the experience in its totality, the more in awe I feel of it. Games like Bloodborne are not created by pure artistic competency or raw man hours put in. There needs to be a certain alignment of the moon and amygdala to have something so horrific and beautiful exist on our revolving hellfire.
My "New Year's Rockin' Wish" is for Bloodborne to release on PC, if for no other reason than for my friends to play it. They helped me get over the hurdles needed for me to enjoy this series, so they more than deserve to experience what I believe to be the crowning achievement of the FromSoftware catalog. But if Mark Sony hates God and mocks death as much as I think he does, he will continue restricting access of Bloodborne to a sub-30 FPS experience even on my $500 white rectangle. And for this, my gamer brainiacs, he will go to, and burn in, hell.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey👋. I know it’s have been a short time since my last request. Life has been a little tough for me lately but I’ve returned.
So I was thinking of some platonic AEW wrestlers helping the fem!reader ( a young fan maybe like 16-18 even 19 possibly) with a panic attack (claustrophobia) at a meet and greet.
The wrestler(s) could be either;
a commonly loved character that is a softie with fans( The Bucks, Cody, Jeff Hardy, Skye Blue, Danhansen)
a rougher wrestler that stays in character with fans but once sees the reader, they break( MJF, Mox, Eddie Kington)
the wrestlers that are on the younger(ish)side( Top flight, HOOK, Isaiah Kassidy)
or the older wrestlers( Chris Jericho, Billy Gunn, Sting, Taz)
Sincerely, sorry for such a long request
Ps. I love how you wrote my requests. Much Love🫶🏻🫶🏻
Hi sweetheart, I hope everything is going better for you. (and don't you dare apologize for your ideas)
AEW Stars React To You: Having a Panic Attack
Pairings: Jeff Hardy X Fem!Reader (Platonic), Eddie Kingston X Fem!Reader (Platonic), Hook X Fem!Reader (Platonic), Dante Martin X Fem!Reader (Platonic), Darius Martin X Fem!Reader (Platonic), Sting X Fem!Reader (Platonic)
Warnings: mentions of claustrophobia, mentions of panic attacks, slightly proofread
Supreme Speaks: Thank you to @hookerforhook for requesting and again I hope life is treating you much better as you deserve the best things. As always, my inbox and requests is open for everyone. If anyone needs to talk or just need someone to listen, my dms are open. P.S you are loved and greatly appreciated.

Backstory:
You were waiting in line to meet your favorite wrestler, as everyone was. But it was really special for you as it was your first time going to a live wrestling event. AEW was hosting a meet and greet before Dynamite and you were fortunate that it was in your town and you saved enough money to go.
This wrestler meant a lot to you; they helped you during a rough time, motivated you, and inspired you to do better in your life every day.
While waiting you’re waiting in line, you started to get sweaty palms and immediately started to guard yourself; you’re breath started to stagger and you started to hyperventilate.
Most people would think it’s because you’re really excited. But it was because you were claustrophobic, you couldn’t stand crowds, and you actually hated and dreaded them.
People started pushing you around, meshing you against other people in line. Soon, it began to feel like walls were being built around you and they were cutting off your oxygen.
As you were hyperventilating, your chest started to swell with tightness as you began to shake. But soon…a figure, that you thought you would never meet, saved you…
The commonly loved character that is a softie with fans…Jeff Hardy:
Tumblr media
This man would jump into action and ask the crowd to give you some space
Would immediately give you space while also checking on you
“Darling, are you okay?” (MY MAN WITH THE CAROLINIAN ACCENT)
Would give you water and wait until you stated your name before getting close to you
You were able to skip the line as Jeff really wanted to make sure you were okay
Wants to distract you so he’s rambling about anything and everything
“When I’m up on the top rope, it feels like I’m so free and gone with the wind”
Will constantly ask if you’re feeling alright
After you’re okay, you talk to him about how he’s impacted your life as he signs your picture
He smiles at you and takes a picture with you
Afterward, he would give you a backstage pass, so you have all the space you need to watch the show
The rougher wrestler that stays in character with fans but once sees the reader, they break…Eddie Kingston:
Tumblr media
It has been said by Eddie himself that he suffers from panic attacks so I think he would take your situation very seriously
Would immediately yell at the line to disperse as you fell to the ground, going straight into an attack
He would jump down and use some methods that helped him through panic attacks
This would include naming 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, etc.
Will be completely transparent with you as he is with everyone “You’re okay. Everything is okay. Those idiots don’t understand personal space.”
Will have a heart-to-heart with you about panic attacks (I feel like ya’ll will get so into the conversation that it would feel like y’all just knew each other for years)
“What medicine do you take?….Oh, that doesn’t work for shit…I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST ME!”
Like Jeff, Eddie will distract you with stories about who he has beef with (also to let out his frustrations)
His heart would grow after hearing how much of an impact he has made on your life
Eddie would definitely have a conversation with whoever didn’t monitor the capacity
The wrestlers that are on the younger(ish)side…Hook, Dante and Darius Martin (3/4ths of The Lads):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, I hope this doesn’t sound bad but I feel like they would freak out first…well at least
But only because they wouldn’t know how how to help
Hook would be kind of frozen to help at first
All of them would ask you yes or no questions to try not to overwhelm you
They would quickly give you water and instruct you to take deep breaths
Darius: You’re doing great
Dante: Do you need more water?
Hook: Here's more chips. hands you a whole unopened bag
Top Flight would try to distract you with music, giving you recommendations
Wants you to stay near their table so they check on you throughout the invite
“We are friends now”
(Call me trying to give you a Y/N moment) But I really do feel like they would become genuine friends with you
I also think they would look up more resources on how to help you and others who might have panic attacks
The veteran wrestler…Sting (his might be short, sorry):
Tumblr media
Sting is an understanding and supportive grandpa and I refuse to elaborate
Anyways, would definitely pull you to a corner (to give you space) and shut down his booth for a little bit
I feel like he would use the RAIN method to help you calm down and have you take deep breaths
“It’s okay kid. It happens to most of us.”
After you’re feeling better, he would take pictures with you, give you a long letter of encouraging words
I feel like even after you leave the booth, he would still check up on you and keep an eye on you
Like Jeff, he would also give you a backstage path
Would definitely post something on Twitter about giving people a respectable amount of space and not shoving when at meet and greets
You would forever live in his mind and he would constantly hope that you’re safe

thank you @sanhaoche for the tag! i love to share my many thoughts on things.
Rules: tag 9 ppl you want to know better
Last song: mikrokosmos by BTS. my “BTS favourites” playlist is literally over 7 hours long because they haven’t made a bad song in their lives, but if i had to pick my ultimate favourite it would be mikrokosmos. shine dream smile x
Last show: i think the last tv show i actually finished was i told sunset about you which i watched because the director of this film festival (who i’m obsessed with) was constantly posting about it on instagram and i was like okay king you’ve got me intrigued. i thought it was so beautifully filmed and the yearning was exquisite. all of those longing gazes! when they’re in the hammock and oh-aew says, “i think you know,” i was shaking crying throwing up. i will say that it gets a bit melodramatic and overwrought midway through episode 4—i was watching it with sarah in the room and after 20 minutes she was like they really haven’t stopped crying this entire time, which, like, yeah. however EYE also started crying when teh and hoon have that conversation in the final episode…. what can i say, i love gays and their siblings. anyway it really does capture that first-love-obsession so well, both in its crazy intensity and also in how you catalogue every single small touch and look and moment. plus i got to read this fic after which was so GOOD.
also if this question was meant to be about concerts my last show was ATEEZ which changed my life, restructured my DNA and had me immediately searching for VIP tickets for the berlin and amsterdam shows. seonghwa being visibly affected by my sign and touching his heart???? yunho saying “i love you” directly to sarah???? no we won. there is truly nothing like seeing a band live at the very height of your obsession with them
Currently watching: god so many things.
the bear! very tonally chaotic but enjoyable.
the sopranos, which abeera has been telling me about for ages and we finally watched the first episode on friday and i fear i’m going to be obsessed. seeing tony squirming in the therapist’s chair not wanting to speak about his family…..relate!
kinnporsche because i simply had to know what was driving everyone so crazy. also hayley sent me a unionisation fic and so really watching kp is just background research i have to do so i can read it. anyway i’m 3 episodes in and if anything happens to porsche i will kill everyone in this room and then myself etc etc
Currently reading: i’m going to cheat because the book i’m reading right now isn’t worth talking about but i recently read I HOTEL BY KAREN TEI YAMASHITA which was perfect. i was telling abeera about it yesterday and started stumbling over my words because i was so excited to talk about it. it’s a book of 10 interconnected novellas about the asian american/yellow power movement in the late 60s/70s, based on archival research into the many activist & community groups that were organising in san francisco at the time. it covers SO much ground: from the 68 student strike to the alcatraz occupation to the black panthers to lenin reading groups to the communist art in the coit tower to filipino fruit pickers. i’ve never read a fiction book that understands both marxist theory and praxis so deeply and so well. it’s about community, solidarity, putting your body on the line; poetry and love and art and food; and ultimately it’s about revolutionary struggle and how to dream it and do it. i cried! twice!
Current obsession: do i even need to say ATEEZ? stream guerrilla. the “kpop punk” playlist i have been meticulously curating, which is a list of kpop songs paired with thematically/lyrically similar pop punk songs. the cucumber plants on my balcony. this new LUCY song, which makes me feel like i am a character in a TV show during a montage where i Get My Life Together. a recipe for chicken adobo which is one of the most delicious things i’ve cooked recently. dalton day’s poetry. the moment of the day when It’s Time To BeReal. going bouldering! i just got new climbing shoes which is helping me move up a grade and it’s so satisfying to get stronger! the podcast episode i’m planning with @sanhaoche on mdzs, in which i will inevitably talk about jiang cheng for at least 20 minutes without stopping to breathe. my friends, obviously and always.
tagging @jiminsproof @sportsbrataemin @evakant @perilously @daltoneering @phneltwrites @anakinkendrick @hstylesbians to do this if you would like to!!!!

For those that know me, Adam is not a role I’d normally run to try out. But here we are and we’re going to make it blossom into a deep love, okay? That’s the goal here.
A rather small ‘go-to-info’ for my portrayal that probably doesn’t matter at all:
Austin resides in Orlando, FL.
He is currently signed to AEW until mid 2027.
He’s a gamer. (I however suck and have little knowledge of this, so if you bring it up to Adam I’m probably going to run in the opposite direction.)
Jenkins grew up with an alcoholic father whom was very disapproving of his dreams of becoming a Wrestler. (true story man) His fathers doubts only motivated him more. Unfortunately what came with this is the self critiquing that followed. Now that he lives alone, he often finds himself re-watching his previous matches to mentally note what he needs to do better on which always ends up being the longest list that others eye roll to.
His injury list as of late has been racking itself up. Adam has been fighting to get cleared and stay off the injured list, however each time one situation has been conquered, a new one has popped up or an old one has reopened itself back up. To say he is frustrated is an understatement.
Current Plots:
Exes - @xxbrittsburgh. Adam and Britt dated during his WWE NXT run, however career ventures upon other things crept up and took over. The two remain friendly to this day. Anything seen previously on AEW programming between the two has been completely as friends to play out their story on screen. However this does not mean that Cole in any way has lost feelings. There will always be a place in his heart for the DMD.
Open Plots:
With Adam working all over the place, the opportunities for connections are endless. I would love to have anything thrown my way if anyone has some off-spring ideas! Any further Exes, Flings, Best Friends, Enemies, any other connections are totally open.
I only ship if there is deep chemistry. If I do not have that, it isn’t fair to you.
Please feel free to DM here or Discord me if you have me for any plottings. If you like the post, this does not mean I’ll message you first. I’m a nervous bean always.

G1 Climax 33
I was on the fence about getting back into NJPW, but I decided to check out the first two G1 shows tonight and I’m having a blast.  It almost feels like 2019 again.  G1 29 was awesome back then, but the product really suffered during the pandemic, and I got really sick of the booking.  G1 Climax 30 and 31 really disappointed me, so I decided to skip 32 and I figured I was done with this promotion.
But I wanted to check out Eddie Kingston in this year’s G1, and it’s nice to see a lot of the guys I enjoyed from before.  Enough stuff has changed that it feels fresh again.  SANADA’s the champion, for example, which is great, because I got real sick of the slow burn on that guy breaking through to the main event level.  G.o.D. got kicked out of Bullet Club, but it hardly matters, because they were the only cool guys in Bullet Club.   EVIL’s still around and he still sucks shit, but apparently he hasn’t been winning much lately, which must mean his dumb-as-fuck megapush has finally run its course.
I’m pulling for Eddie Kingston to win the whole thing, although I don’t like his chances.  Haku’s sons are also cool and we have Tama, Loa, and Hikuleo in this thing, which is great.  TMDK feel familiar to me, but I only recognize ZSJ from the group, so I can’t tell if I know the other guys from WWE or not.  Shooter Umino’s another guy I like.  Henare has a cool tattoo on his face, so I’m interested to see how he does.  I feel like I’m forgetting some guys, but the field looks a lot closer to the all-killer-no-filler ideal that “Grade 1″ is supposed to represent.  They still put Chase Owens in this stupid thing, but at least Yujiro Takahashi didn’t make the cut.
Oh, hey, it’s Jeff Cobb.  This is looking pretty nice.
This year they have four blocks with eight guys apiece, and the top two guys from each block will get put into a single-elimination tournament at the end.  I like this layout.  I guess they did it last year, except it was only the four block winners, so there was no quarterfinal round. Also the block matches have 20 minute time limits, and they’re doing eight block matches per show, which is great because it means we don’t have all those pointless multi-man tag matches on the first half of the show.  They probably needed to scale back the time limits just to fit eight matches onto a three-hour card, but it does seem to improve the matches.  Save the epic-length matches for the end where it matters.
I think the thing I learned about NJPW is that I kind of need to manage my expectations with this thing.  I really enjoy the round robin tournaments, but they hold like four of them every year, and they can’t all be good.  And I like a lot of the talent, but trying to follow Dangerous Tekkers during their tag title reigns showed me just how frustrating New Japan’s booking can be.
What I need to do is only watch the G1′s and maybe the World Tag Leagues if they can actually field some decent blocks.  I think I looked at the WTL lineup in 2021 and got so disgusted with it that I gave up on the promotion.  But now they can bring in some talent from other promotions, and maybe get something cool going.  And these days I have AEW to watch week-to-week, so it’s not like I’m stuck with one promotion.  I don’t have to follow them both all year, or really either of them.  I’m a filthy casual, so I may as well approach it that way.

Anthony’s Stupid Daily Blog (434): Thu 25th May 2023
I hoped to finish reading The Bottoms by Joe R Lansdale yesterday but I couldn't because I had Luna so I was determined to press on and finish it today which I did. It was a decent read but I don't think I'd rank it among the best that I've read as part of this challenge. The beginning is very good as is the ending where the sheriff confronts the killer who has been hiding in a cave and has to figure out a way to disarm and incapacitate him before he harms his children. However the middle bit just felt a bit repetitive and uninteresting for my liking. Certainly not bad but not as engaging as I thought it was going to be. I was glad that although I didn't enjoy it as much as I was expecting to, I still managed to get through this book in a day and tomorrow I can move on to the next on: Winter and Nightby T Jefferson Parker.
CM Punk is all but confirmed to be returning to AEW with the announcement that the first episode of Collision will take place in Chicago’s United Centre. The AEW faithful have been sort of split about whether or not they want Punk to return but I have unapologetically been on the side of bringing him back. The guy is definitely a commodity for AEW and while his way of handling frustration in the work place isn't ideal I still think he's worth hanging onto as he offers something that sets AEW apart from the other companies. Although I'm happy he's sticking around I'm disappointed that from what I've read AEW have no plans to capitalize on the heat Punk generated due to his actions with the Bucks and Omega at All Out. Passing on this opportunity to get some buzz by turning the genuine animosity these guys have into a storyline is just foolish in my book. Khan has had nearly ten months to map out a storyline they could have kick started the second Punk returned from injury but it looks like he's just going to sweep it under the carpet and act like it never happened. With my beard gone for the summer I felt the need to come up with a new look for myself. although I like having a shaved head because there's no pressure to wash or style it, it's undeniable that I have an odd shaped head and my hairline is receding in such a way that when the first strands of hair start to grow back after a shaving it makes me look ridiculous. I decided to see what I looked like with my hair slicked and gelled back and I very much liked what I saw. I look like a cross between Christian Bale in American Psycho and BOB from Twin Peaks which I'll be honest is the look I've always wanted..Hell isn't it the look everyone really wants? I tried doing this while o was at school and got laughed at by the whole schoolyard. One boy told me that I looked like Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter and it’s only just dawned on my that i should have said “Well I do dabble in magic. Like last night when I made my cock disappear up your Mam’s arsehole”. Why do I always think of the perfect thing to say when it’s 23 years too late?
