Listen guys I know I will never be much good* (or even enjoy, tbh) calligraphy, but my mother-in-law keeps giving me old “the basics of calligraphy!!” sets that she finds at goodwill that obviously someone got as a gift in the 90s and never even opened and I enjoy collecting the inks and tiny ceramic bowls and inkstones so, so much ☺️

*this isn’t poor self esteem btw this is clear eyed & serene knowledge of where my skills lay and the answer to that is in art forms that do not require steady hands and good spatial awareness. I like digital art and fiber crafts lmao.

#ink #calligraphy #I love all of the items I find in those kits!!!! #I had to google what the tiny spoons and bowls were for lol but now I get it #I think I might even have a blank seal 👀 #and all the ink bottles!!! ❤️ #I will absolutely be using that ink with either my glass or regular dip pens to write lol #not calligraphy stuff but just regular writing ahah #I have no spatial awareness because of the audhd #to the point where I have never even been able to do these art excercises #where there is a small image in a grid and you have a bigger grid and need to copy the image #can’t even do that lol my brain does not allow me to draw something I see correctly #also my hands shake and I’m clumsy ❤️ #but I can totally write whole books and draw things from my brain so I’m happy anyway lol #it’s just like #at some point you’ll always be happier knowing what art mediums are for you and which ones aren’t #because there is so much guilt that artists get when they can’t master ALL the mediums??? #but I have given myself permission to not feel that guilt lol I suck at certain things and that’s okay ☺️ #anyway love calligraphy like as a concept #and as a provider of tiny ceramic bowls
