TOP FIVE VIDEO GAMES‼️‼️

I had to do a TON of thinking about this but here we go:

5. Hollow Knight

I actually almost put The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker here, but I remembered this game existed and I slapped it on instead. Genuinely the most pretty and emotional game I’ve ever played, I can’t not have it in my top five LMAO. I have so many thoughts and feelings on this game and it’s the reason I love indie games so much now-I owe it a lot!

4. Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Moon

Similar deal here, these are my favorite Pokémon games and I can’t decide between them. I LOVE the pokemon, the story, and the aesthetic of Moon, but I have a LOT of memories attached to Omega Ruby (and I also love its story LOL). I also use Moon for 90% of my shiny hunting and it’s the game that got me into it, so I have an attachment to it in that way.

3. Don’t Starve Together

I mean. Yeah. What did you expect LMAO

Jokes aside this game has done SO MUCH for me unironically aside from it being a game I have almost 400 hours in. I’ve met so many fantastic people through this game (like you Quinn!) and drawing the characters has done WONDERS for my art skills (aka my human anatomy skills have improved a TON). Not to mention this game is just plain fun as hell and even with the amount of time I have on it there’s still so much I haven’t done in it. Love this fucking game so much.

2. Animal Crossing: New Leaf

This was the first 3Ds game I ever got and it practically raised me back in the 2010s. I have gone through SO MUCH with this game it is unbelievable. Had my first file for YEARS before my cartridge stopped working inexplicably. Got another one that I started a new file on, got SO attached to it and had it when the amiibo update came out and fell in love with the new amiibo villagers. Funnily enough. I actually just reset that town yesterday and one of my starting villagers was one I’ve been looking for for actual YEARS on New Horizons.

The amount of memories I have attached to this game is more than any other game (besides Splatoon) and the charm this game has is irreplaceable. I love New Horizons a lot, I really do, but New Leaf will forever be my favorite AC and 3Ds game.

1. Splatoon (all of them)

I feel like the amount of reblogging and posting I do here could NEVER express how much this game means to me. You might think from my blog that DST is my favorite, but nope-Splatoon has been my favorite game(s) for nearly the past decade. When I say this game was love at first sight, I mean it LOL-I lost every match I played the first time I played Splatoon 1, but I LOVED it. I had never had so much fun losing before lol. This game unironically changed my life and has been there for me through my hardest moments and is genuinely, unironically the reason I’m an artist now. The connections I have for the characters and the love I’ve put into my own OCs and whatnot is unmatched compared to any other game/fandom I’ve been in. Not to mention all the memories I have with this game-from nearly crying when Splatoon 2 was announced, to ACTUALLY crying when Splatoon 3 was announced, getting heated over certain Splatfests in the Splatoon 2 days and freaking the fuck out over the Squid Sisters, it’s INSANE. And even all this doesn’t even accurately describe it.

I’ve been here since the exact day the first game came out and I’m so fucking excited to see where this series goes <3

ok but what's y'all favorite minigame in the trade inn??

so like, when u click one of the birds in the trade inn a minigame pops up and sometimes i just waste my time with these instead of actually playing dst lol

i like this one but after guessing 2 pairs everything mixes up and i lose instantly- i need to focus a shit ton to get a decent amount of pairs

animal jam trained me for this one (thank you 9 years old me) but once you find all the junk is not that motivating to re-play imo

And this one... what can i say, mixing rng with my bland ability to do math mentally is not a good combination- with some luck i manage to get a single egg without filling the board with numbers i cannot mix bc they're too big

my record is like, 3 aggs and that's probably the best i can ever do

I saw that Don’t Starve is one of your fandoms and it reminded me that I used to play that game! I redownloaded it on my phone and was inspired to play it again (albeit with very limited content as it’s just the mobile version)

Funnily enough, I first played Don’t Starve a few years back because a yandere writing blog I liked wrote something about Wilson and Charlie. I had not context for that blog’s imagines on the game but seeing a character named “Charlie the Night Monster” really intrigued me

That is such a fun story haha!! And yeah, Charlie is really special 🤭 One of my favorite facts about her is that her presence smells like roses... Sooo many cool fic possibilities hehe

If you like Don't Starve you should give Don't Starve Together a try!!! It's on sale on Steam sometimes and I love the hell out of it... 😭💕 I got into DST in 2020 after some basic DS experiences and it consumed me for three months straight. It's the only online game I am actually good at. I still play it and I usually go solo - it's all doable, even if it's supposed to be a multiplayer and soloing bosses can be really fun if you pick the right character for your run (don't play Wendy if you aren't cave basing bc she's weak and you'll spend HOURS soloing bosses lol). Playing with friends or just random people is fun too, but tbh voice chat is best for quick and easy communication - trust me you don't wanna stop and type while you fight Deerclops lmao.

But: there is a massive learning curve. DST is very different from DS and you'll definitely have to invest some hours on YouTube watching either experienced players game or looking at guides/advice videos. I usually did the dishes while I watched guides and watched challenge vids before bed haha. One of my favorites is Joeshmocoolstuff, they don't talk during videos but I could watch them play all day. And I learned so so much. Really cool.

Also, consider getting Don't Starve and all the DLCs either via gog (more sales, really cheap, drm free) or Steam!! Especially the DS Hamlet DLC is incredibly fun, if a little short-winded, but it's so different from the base game, it's like starting all over. Especially the normal DS runs on pretty much any PC - and I think I've seen it without any DLCs (although I'd tell you to get Reign of the Giants at the very least, it adds a lot to the base game) for like 2.30€?? That's cheaper than the mobile version in my country haha

Also, the lore drops over the years (via DST and YouTube) have been sooo good. I have multiple wips in my docs that I'll probably never finish but I am down BAD for triumphant!Willow and have had so much fun playing around with Wigfrid's back story. The cast is amazing and fun and the lore gets deeper and deeper as you get better at the game... It just sucks you in 💕

Haha this reads like a total sales pitch but I'm just so excited to talk about DS lol thanks for giving me the opportunity!! (And I hope you get to try out DST one day, it really is so fun)

Who’s ur favorite character in Dont Starve? Also what’s ur favorite part/thing in it?

I love you ok so sorry for being predictable but my biggest dst comfort character is Maxwell, ESPECIALLY during his William Carter era, i used to have like 58394 pictures of William and my favourite portrayal of Maxwell after being freed from the nightmare throne and joining the survivors is him being obviously a narcissistic bastard but with the old William starting to seep thru making him a bit softer but still someone distinctly different (also if i have did maxwell hc no i don't haha imnso sexy). Also obviously Wilson i think it was like the first character I latched into even back when I didn't understand English whatsoever i was fighting for mt life in the Google translate to read Wilson comics on Google images or something he's such a funny sqrunkly etc etc but like Wilson just feels like comfort, something i know very well if that makes sense? almost like an old friend. his hair is so stupid lmao. Also when younger i had the BIGGEST FATTEST crush on wickerbottom especially in her skins Jesus I saw that old woman and went insane i think.

my favourite part is the sense of mystery and the unnerving/uncanny nature of the game (lore/artstyle/mechanics etc). back in thr beta and first releases I was so terrified of thr game obviously I was and am a huge scaredy cat i couldn't play the game at ALL it was too scary for me but like keeping up with the ARG uncovering maxwell's past, spending hours on the wiki reading every single aviable voice line just to understand that weird world a bit better... back when Charlie was simply The Grue, back when we knew so little about the lore, when the adventure mode was all we had to speculate... it all was so mystical and otherworldly like what exactly is Them, what happend to the ancient civilization from the ruins, how did the rest of survivors end up in the constant etc.. now the lore has progressed so much and we learned sm more and that whole mystery kinda lost its magic a bit but that's bound to happend since it's been years since the game launched LOL but even now there's still so much we don't know... goes insane goes crazy
