I asked @m34gs what she thinks the Twisted Wonderland house warden's favourite video games are. She answered in this ask and prompted me to give my thoughts. So, here I am!

Here are a few ground rules: I'm going to pick games I've personally played or had experience with. Also, if a game is in a series and I think they're very similar, I'm listing them together.

The House Warden's Favourite Video Game

Riddle - Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland

Wow, I'm really outing myself with how many Kirby games I've played, huh? Well, I'm not sorry. When I was a child I LOVED Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland. I loved the simple world design, the fun, easy mechanics, and the bright colours/music. It's also a fast game. Even as a child I think I beat it in like six hours. Anyways, I think Riddle would enjoy this game for those reasons. It's something he can lose himself in briefly and have fun. I know there are probably better Kirby games out there and newer ones at that, but the childhood nostalgia wins in the end.

Leona - Tetris

I really love your pick of Mahjong for Leona. Honestly, the desire to just go "yeah, what M34GS said" or pick another tactical game like Chess, Checkers, or even Go. But, I decided Tetris is also a good pick for Leona. As you said, Leona isn't one to care too much about video games, so he isn't going for one with story... like I do. He needs a low risk game with just enough puzzling. So, Tetris. It's fun to arrange things, does require some level of strategy, and is very satisfying when you win. Leona can also put it away at any time, so this means he can nap when he's bored or done.

Azul - Don't Starve Together

While I sort of wanted to pick a murder mystery game with Azul, Don't Starve Together has resource management. Which, I think is right up Azul's alley. Sure, the game has a "survive in the wild" vibe, but Azul is there trying to optimize his strategy, gather everything, and not die. He can also play with Jade and Floyd if he wishes, but there is a high chance those two would sabotage him. Azul will take that risk though, and I think those three would have a lot of fun. It's also a casual game, so he can put it away without worry of story or progress.

Kalim - Harvest Moon (any of them)

I agree that Kalim deserves a relaxing, slow game, without much conflict or objectives in it. While I think a game franchise like Animal Crossing also works, since I've never played an Animal Crossing game myself, I'm picking Harvest Moon. I think Kalim would find it very fun to build his farm, befriend the locals, solve whatever problem is occurring, and marry his favourite NPC. I didn't pick a specific Harvest Moon game simply because I only have experience with two: the original and The Tale of Two Towns (I think... I can't check right now). Besides, Harvest Moon all has the same "flavour" so to speak, so I don't think me specifically stating which game is necessary.

Vil - Super Smash Bros (any of them)

I agree that Vil would love a co-op game that he can play with his close friends. I also agree it has to be easy and with low stakes. Sure, SSBs has "meta units" and an entire competitive video game scene with the game, but I think Vil would play this as a party game. It's casual with everyone just picking their favourite characters and stage. There may be some sabotage (a must) and items on (deadly) but in the end, everyone is just playing to have a good time. Who Vil mains is up to you.

Idia - TWEWY/Neo TWEWY

The urge to pick a mobile game like Genshin Impact or an open world game like BoTW or TotK is high, but I want to avoid gacha games in my list and... I've never played BoTW or TotK. Sorry. So, I picked a personal favourite of mine: The World Ends with You and the sequel. I picked this because I think Idia is the kind of person who gets into the story of a game and enjoy the characters. TWEWY has some amazing characters, great story, amazing music, and of course, the essence of Shibuya packaged into the entire game. I also think Idia would love the game play, enjoying swapping his pins out for better ones, and enjoy the extra challenge modes.

Malleus - Pokemon Yellow/Red/Blue (or Green)

Okay, here is the problem: I think any sort of pet simulator game is great for Malleus, however, I dislike pet simulator games. I'm here for story and lore... which I think is the opposite for Malleus. But here is the thing while Pokemon has a narrative and many components it started off super simple: go around and catch Pokemon and go to the gyms. While newer Pokemon games have introduced so many things like Beauty Contests or an open world design, I think the old games are perfect for Malleus. He'd enjoy creating his team and nicknaming them. I bet he'd be delighted to learn that there are dragon type Pokemon in the world too. Sure, he may struggle with some more "meta" components but at least in the older games we didn't have Mega Evolution or newer Gens and BST to worry about.

8. Favourite BGM/vocal track?

And so you have chosen violence. You likely don't know this, but I am somewhat unhinged when it comes to soundtrack music. Doubly so when it comes to FFXIV's incredible soundtrack. Anyone that's had the misfortune of playing the game with me can attest that I am constantly going "ooooooh I love this track!" "omg this one's one of my favourites!" "this music though!" etc etc. I have a playlist of FFXIV music on spotify that's only my favourites and it is 15hrs long. And that's not even including the Death Unto Dawn or Endwalker soundtracks because they're not on spotify yet. And you ask me to pick a single favourite???

17. Favourite minion?

The Starbird. It's an extremely rare drop from the last dungeon of Endwalker and I got it on my first run. Which I was doing with Trust npcs, meaning that it went straight into my pocket without even needing to roll for it. I've done that dungeon so many times now and I've never once seen it drop again for anyone. Absolute insane luck, and it genuinely felt like the game was deliberately giving me this special gift to make up for all the emotional damage it caused me that expansion. The themes surrounding what the minion represents are also very very very relevant to my own personal struggles in recent years, so I honestly can't overstate how much this little buddy means to me.

22. You obtain one in-game item to use/wear IRL, what do you pick and why?

I would love to have an astrologian's planisphere in real life. Even if I couldn't make it go all floaty sparkly, just having such an intricate and pretty thing would be so cool.

Under a cut cause this is gonna get long, I have so many feelings lol

So I guess basics first?

The campaign is a Giovanni-focused one, because the Giovanni are my favourite clan of all time and I wanted my first game to be something that I'm passionate and know a lot about! I named it "Family Matters" because I think I'm really funny, naming a game about the vampire mafia "Family Matters".

I have five players, which seems like a lot for a first time story-teller, but only three of them consistently... do things. The other two are mostly just here to hang out with us, so their characters typically are comic relief who join in during very important scenes. It works for us, though. (We've got the two serious characters, Cordell Wilford and Akari Matsumoto, one who's serious sometimes but is a total dope, Wolfgang Cullen (because he had to make a vampire with the surname Cullen) and then our comic relief team, Paul Allen (yes that one) and Soup).

These five vampires are the hired help of Miss Mercer, who without getting too much into it is several steps down from the actual E Division, and deals with shit that they don't think is important enough to deal with themselves. Mercer has a wide range of contacts that she'll call up for different jobs, throw into random groups together, and send them off to deal with super natural discrepancies that the actual Camarilla higher ups don't want to bother themselves with.

So anyways, Mercer calls in these five to deal with a sudden uptick in ghost activity in Venice, which normally she would never pay attention to because that's Giovanni territory, but the Giovanni don't seem to be doing anything and humans are dying and starting to become suspicious and the Camarilla can't have that. She only wants them to essentially poke their heads in, see what's up, hunt some ghosts if they can, and then come back and report to her without engaging the Giovanni and alerting them to Camarilla presence in the city.

Obviously this does not happen because this is a ttrpg, and on session fucking 2 they're tracking down Giovanni. Because of course they are.

However. This lets me introduce my next major NPC's!! The gang essentially shakes down Anthonio, everyone's favourite ghoul, to get the locations of his bosses (is there a word for a vampire who has a ghoul?? There must be..) the twins! Eleanora and Rosario Giovanni are so evil and fucked up <3 I love them <3 <3

From there, the party has met Magdalene De Rossi, the twins' sire, Enzio Giovanni, Magdalene's sire, and they're still trying to work their way up the Giovanni chain of power, eventually hoping to meet Augustus himself, I think. Which won't happen, because this campaign takes place in 2016, and if anyone knows their Giovanni lore, well... (The reason there's so many ghosties wreaking havoc on the city is because they were Augustus' little servants and now that he's, uhhh, "missing", they're off on their own and fucking pissed.)

Aside from all of that, each member of the party has their own ambitions regarding Venice, the main two being Cordell wanting to become an ally of The Family and live in Venice, and Akari (who's hooked up with and grown attached to Anthonio) wanting to get her favourite little boy toy away from the twins and out of Italy because she doesn't like how he's treated here.

We've got a few overlapping story lines, with Akari and co. working with Rosario to find a new body for his ghost fiancee in return for him weaning Anthonio off of his blood and onto Akari's, and also the gang betrayed Miss Mercer so she's being delivered to Venice next session, and they're still hunting ghosts on top of it all.

I have a whole thing planned out where the ghosts have started targeting the Giovanni family themselves, but my players haven't picked up on it yet... idk how much more obvious I'm gonna have to be but that's the next major plot point so we'll see how it goes lol.

Anyways this got rambly but yeah! A basic rundown of my VtM campaign!

It's a lot but also it's so fun. I'm always looking forward to Saturdays, me and my friends always have a good time together :)

Ooh okay a bunch for the echoes ask game, but no pressure tho: 6, 7, 16, 18, 30, and 35!

So I got a bunch of overlapping questions between all the asks, and while I could just link to the previous answers, I decided to add a different answer on top of it, because why not? 6) What’s your favorite song? This one's a toughie, because this game is full of incredible music and I can't just pick one, but the holy trinity has got to be Heritors of Arcadia, Twilight of the Gods and Lord of a Dead Empire, they're all absolutely chilling! Fate gets an honorable mention for being my fav map track and for conveying so many different emotions so well. 7) What stuck with you after finishing the game? Previous answers: Thabes Labyrinth Is it strange that I can't give you a straight answer? It's like the game as a whole stuck with me, but not a lot of individual moments. Doesn't help that my first playthrough has been years ago and my memory's always a foggy mess.

16) What is a line from the game that stuck with you? "..he's lucky indeed. And yet, who do I have left?" This line from Fernand in the final Rise of the Deliverance map just breaks me, that's basically so much of his character summed up in one phrase. Not to mention that it's the start of his jealousy of Clive and overall bitterness, and it says so much about him in a way that hundreds of infodumps by NPCs or even Clive never could. You were right Rose, this DLC really does feed you! 18) Who’s your favorite VA performance? I'm just gonna quote what @heartfeltstories said in their answer and say Ian Sinclair! While every VA does a phenomenal job for every chracter, Ian Sinclair as Berkut is just unreal and singlehandedly sells him. I once made a joke about him setting his wife on fire for accuracy, because he just goes that much into the role! You can feel Berkut's descent into madness that much mainly because of his performance, and I hope he comes back in future titles! Heck, for all I know he could have a role in Three Houses... It makes me so glad this game introduced full voice acting to Fire Emblem, because had Berkut been in even an older 3DS title his scenes wouldn't have been nearly as intense. 30) What’s your favorite non-canon pair and why? Faye/Celica, absolutely!🌸 They're sickeningly sweet together and everyone making content about them is incredibly talented! Heck, despite it being my favourite pair I can't even exactly say what made me ship them so much besides the amazing fan content, I guess they just clicked? There's something about both of them that really works, and it's a big "screw you" to love triangles or two girls fighting for the man's love, which is always a plus in my book! For a more popular pair and with more base in canon though, I'd say Gray/Tobin! I swear, replaying this game made me realize Tobin's likely gay and in the closet and absolutely has a crush for Gray. There's him saying halfheartedly "yeah, I guess I like girls" before approaching the Southern Outpost and their support together is just ambiguous enough that you could interpret it as Tobin being jealous of Clair, not Gray before letting go and outright saying he would rather keep his best friend over something he can't have.

The two bounce off each other really well, and there's a lot of respect for each other beyond all the teasing! They feel like equals and like they genuinely like each other, which is reason enough to make me like it way more than Gray/Clair, to be honest...

35) What’s an Echoes alt you really want in Heroes? (Fallen, Seasonal, Legendary, everything is fair game go wild) This one is so specific it's never going to happen, but a Duo alt of Duma and Mila as kids would make me SO HAPPY Just the dynamic between both would be incredibly interesting, with both of them still being close siblings but also getting to see them as kids without their responsibility as gods kinda like young Tiki? Imagining Mila with short hair practicing healing magic with her own staff and Duma wearing an oversized helmet and wielding his trident trying to look threatening brings me joy and- imagine the potential interactions with other Heroes! Like, Mila looking up to Celica and Silque as mentors and older sisters (and imagine their reactions to this) and Duma challenging everyone he deems powerful to grow stronger, which would inevitably lead to him fighting the likes of Alm and Berkut? And imagine the heartache their adult selves would go through seeing the two kids being so close and longing for a time when they too were like that before they parted ways forever? Oh, and Naga too since by that point in time they were still in good terms. I wounder if they would befriend young Tiki, too? oh gods I'm starting to imagine them in @iturbide's dragon creche and it's giving me diabethes help me
