Ingo and Emmet being Rei's and Akari's uncles

I love Emmet and Ingo having lots of friends/family/people like that. ♡

I feel like Akari would already be close with Ingo. I eat up all that cute sweet fluff of her and Ingo connecting over having come from different times. So of course she ends up being close with Emmet, too! She's one of the few people that can keep up with him in battle, so they duke it out a lot. They keep their win/loss streaks carved into one of the cliffs in the highlands.

Rei I always hc as being an orphan, and he has no official family or guardian/caretaker, but Laventon has been looking out for him for years now. They kind of take care of each other. Ingo and Emmet don't quite take care of him in that way, but they still meet sweet shy Rei when Akari brings him along to learn battling. Rei isn't a bad trainer by any means, he made some really amazing progress on his own! It's just that now he wants to get even past that level. Emmet gets pretty excited; he's sure Rei will be good enough to beat him one day! He and Ingo both teach him a lot. And Rei shows them a lot of crafting skills!

And of course Irida. I can't have submas in Hisui without Irida anymore haha. There's no exact word for what they even are. She's not their sister, they're not cousins or anything. They're just each other's people. Emmet is endlessly grateful to her; she kept Ingo alive long enough for Emmet to find him. They might not have reunited otherwise. Irida watches over the twins to make sure they adjust well, and visits plenty because sometimes it's just nice to be around people who don't have all the weight and baggage attached to the title Clan Leader. Whenever someone thinks they can get away with threatening Irida just because she doesn't look tough, they suddenly find the world's creepiest twin gargoyles standing behind either shoulder haha.

And their frenemy/neighbor/coworker Melli. Melli would be loathe to admit it, but he DOES like having their company out in the lonely cliffs of the highlands. It's a lot more lively, especially once Emmet Falls and Ingo regains more of his former spark. It's kind of exciting watching all the battles and being able to just go annoy/hang out with them.

I don't know that they'd be close, but I like the twins having a relationship with Laventon, too. This is mostly hc, but Laventon seems to speak Galarian, which would be the twins's native language since they're from Unova. So sometimes they talk just because it's nice to be able to speak their mother tongues. Laventon helps them with some translations, especially early on, too.

This one is very out of left field, but Volo, too. Volo is Ray's fave and so he's like my fave-in-law lol. Volo is probably the fourth strongest trainer in all of Hisui, so he's one of the only ones that could actually challenge the twins in a match. He goes out there with Akari when he's not investigating ruins behind Ginter's back, and it's the only time Emmet and Ingo can really have a proper 2vs2 and fight on the same side together. When Emmet starts breeding pokemon, Volo is weirdly good at helping out with all the eggs and stops by way more often.

And so many other people! Hisui is on the cusp of a grand change- people experienced with pokemon like Emmet and Ingo would be a huge asset. People would flock to them for help and guidance. So no, they don't have their battle subway anymore...but they have this, and it's still good.
