petty grievence, I wish people stopped portraying lizzy as a basic prep girl without ever engaging the complexities in how she present femininity. usually it's just "oh she's just default girl trait"
But we don't ever go into how lizzy herself doesn't believe she conforms to what she thinks is the ideal femininity, especially the strict margins of femininity in the victorian age or how that clashes with our concepts of femininity now.
she strives to become a perfect lady, modeled after her mother, a mature, well-mannered woman, but her wants and needs are always clashing. she doesn't wear high heel shoes for girls her age, envious of them, and instead wears flats to foil her fiancé's mature appearance. she used to consider herself flawed as a girl, for attending fencing lessons instead of dancing halls. she's terrified of appearing scary, like her mother, and disarms herself outwardly as possible.
and the facts are, lizzy's a natural hyper, bubbly girl (and girls being energetic is something to be punished) so even when she's trying to fufill the model of a lady, she's so enthusiastic that it often blows up in her face.
But yeah I guess she likes the color pink and bows... is that all worth investigating???
Like what is she into mainstream stuff? genuinely or does she just follow trends because she's afraid of standing out?
does she like extravagant lolita fashion, overdone with flowers and sparkles and bows? to find comfort in femininity when she has to sacrifice elsewhere? to hide her maturing body in childish accessories?
does she prefer to look like the older women in her life she's admired for so long instead of playing as a "girl" all the time? modest like her mother? mature like her aunt ann? perfect like rachel?
does she actually prefer to wear pants at times because she's gotten so used to it? is she more of a tomboy than what's she comfortable to admit? has lizzy ever presented as she likes?

Hi my name is Jack  M'Talas System Borgsemen Picard Crusher Janeway (the Janeway is silent) and I remind mom of her dead husband (that's how I got my name). I am just 24 but I have perfect golden blond hair without a hint of genetic baldness and I have grey streaks that make me look 41. But I think it makes me look distinguished. And I have icy blue eyes like limpid tears that turn red when I access the hive mind. A lot of people tell me I look like Third of Five (AN: if u don't know who he is get da hell out of here!). I'm not related to Jane Way but I wish I was because she's a major fucking hottie. I'm a borg bio weapon but everyone looked the other way because i killed everyone who would say no to my dad.  lol jk, it was my roguish charm. I'm also a nepobaby, and I got picked over all the hard working academy grads to keep the third seat warm on the Enterprise-G (i destroyed the F in a fit of pique, teehee). I'm a straight white bitch boy (in case you couldn't tell) and I wear mostly black. I love the Unimatrix and I buy all my clothes from there. For example today I was wearing a black corset with matching wires around it and a black leather miniskirt, black exoskeleton and black combat boots. I was wearing black lipstick, nanoprobe foundation, black veins and red eyes. I was walking outside the Enterprise-G. It was in a system i destroyed so there was no sun, which I was very happy about. A lot of academy preps stared at me. I assimilated them.

I'm not sure if you've done her, but I shall still still ask, any Headcanons for kinoko?
Tumblr media
(this color choices in this coloring are so ugly, i'm sorry. i made it like two years ago. back then the idea that two fabrics of the same color can look good while touching each other was beyond my comprehension, and i also haven't bothered to look up how lolita dresses actually look like. please forgive me lol)
as a child she was rather insecure of her quirk (and the interest in mushrooms that came with it) because other kids thought it was gross and weird
however, seeing pro heroes confidently show their quirks to the public and base their entire personas around them no matter how strange they were, gave her the courage to act the same about her own. now she views her quirk as unique and cute rather than weird, and she wants to be as popular as possible in the future - she hopes that maybe some kids with "weird" quirks will also feel inspired by her
in general she tries to express her uniqueness as much as she can, which is why she loves the over-the-top and cutesy lolita fashion
but she'll also wear anything she finds cute, like overalls, the oversized sweater + miniskirt combo, basically anything with polka dots on it...
(she probably hates wearing her school uniform lol)
of course her room is also overwhelmingly cute and girly. the floor is covered with fluffy rugs and there are countless mushroom pillows and sanrio plushies lying around
despite her quirk not being capable of creating it (i think that her quirk can only create mushrooms, not all fungi), she finds mold very fascinating. if it wasn't a health hazard, she would probably keep her spoiled food to see what kinds of mold grow on it
she's a great cook - she can make almost anything... as long as it has mushrooms in it
scrambled egg with mushrooms? easy as pie! regular scrambled egg? might end with the dorm kitchen burning down. somehow.
she also likes gardening, even if there aren't any mushrooms involved. she helps Ibara take care of all her plants, the two of them also want to turn a small part of the lawn surrounding the dorm building into a garden
she's obsessed with romance
her bookshelves are filled with romance novels and shoujo manga (along with mushroom encyclopedias, of course)
and she loves playing matchmaker for her classmates, along with Setsuna, her best friend. they have a special secret notebook dedicated to various more or less ridiculous ships featuring their friends, and even though they don't treat the whole thing very seriously, the notebook's content might just... instantly kill any uninitiated person who looks inside
it's kind of funny because with her Shipper Goggles™ she can see romance literally everywhere while also completely failing to notice Kuroiro's crush on her. she even considers him her type!
acts very fangirly about her favorite idols and pro heroes, definitely runs some kind of blog filled with simping, heart emojis, reposted fanart, photos of her poster-decorated bedroom walls, and aesthetic edits
oh yeah and she definitely reads and writes romance fanfiction about them. sorry not sorry #yourfavelikesrpf
that's all i have for her, hope you enjoyed these hcs :)

have some opinions/hcs about Nami because i am in the middle of arlong park right now and i really like her backstory, but just realized that i really don't like a lot of the ways i have seen her written in the fandom. which isn't necessarily a criticism of the whole fandom, i haven't read any Nami centric stuff, but boy howdy does she get sidelined in some of the worst ways in a lot of fic about the boys.
-she doesn't sleep in the "girls" room until Vivi shows up. she slept alone for 8 years when she was with Arlong, she doesn't like it, she likes sleeping in the same room as the boys because it reminds her she's not alone.
-i think, especially at first, she really struggles with remembering the rest of the crew is there to help her because she spent so long only relying on herself and having to do everything alone. i think she tries to do literally everything on the ship and on islands they stop at by herself all the time and everyone else just sort of stands there and looks at her like 🤨. i think she struggles to admit that needing help isn't weakness, but slowly comes to change her thinking and starts to rely on others and let them rely on her (in a healthy way!).
-she isn't actually weak... well sure, she's not as strong as the monster trio, but she was a pirate and pirate thief since she was 10, and then she manages to survive the grand line. She knows how to fight and she fights well. She isn't a dedicated fighter like some of the other crew members are, but she is definitely significantly better in a fight than many many people and will totally kick your ass.
-she is (as far as i can think) the only one who on screen self-harms. (i'm not counting zoro because that's from him being self-sacrificing and also dumb) i know when she stabs her arm/tattoo she is experiencing a lot of emotions but she didn't even flinch and personally that makes me think that wasn't the first time she'd hurt herself. even if it was to save her village, she joined up with the people who killed her mom, and as far as she knew her whole village hated her. that does not lead to a healthy mental state, especially for a 10 year old. i think she struggled with self-harm growing up and then begins to find other ways to cope after joining the strawhats and overall her mental state begins to improve a lot.
-i think she likes buying new clothes cause she never got them as a kid, but i don't think she's as much of a uber-girlie shop-a-holic as i often see her portrayed... she lives on a pirate ship with people who are constantly getting into scraps and danger, she needs practical clothes that it won't matter if she ruins. i think she also comes to really appreciate Bellemere's handiness with sewing and becomes the crew appointed seamstress. She patches all the clothes and makes them like new again. I also think she doesn't wear as many miniskirts as she does in one piece (rip to all the women for that one tbh 😩) she wears a lot of plain (but stylish cause i do think she likes looking nice) jean shorts because you can move and fight much easier in those. Running around a ship in a storm in a skirt would not be fun.
-i don't think she likes zoro calling her a witch (yeah yeah i'm gonna stand with sanji on this one i guess he's alright sometimes lol). i think it reminds her of what people called her/how people treated her when she was with arlong and i don't think she likes that. i think she puts up with it for a while and then i think she's like "zoro. this is going to be terrible for both of us... but we need to have an emotionally vulnerable conversation." and then forces him to talk about it and they work it out and he apologizes cause he didn't know and then they are okay after that and he doesn't call her that again.
-i.... don't think she cares as much about her tits as a lot of the fandom seems to think she does. or her looks in general really. She likes being pretty, and yea she uses her looks to get things from people, but i don't think she's particularly vain. I don't think she worries about diet or makeup. I would say she probably wears a lot of sunscreen, one because she's pale and doesn't want burnt, and two I do think she doesn't want early wrinkles from sun exposure lol. But I don't think she would bother with much else. Again, like many other things, it just wouldn't be very practical for someone who grew up the way she did and is now a pirate on the grand line.
-yea she's a lesbian. that's very very accurate. i have nothing more to say about that one lol
-i think she writes Nojiko letters... i think her relationship with her sister is very important to her and it's something she makes a very conscious effort to maintain, even if she is more than half a world away from her. And then I think Nojiko reads them to the village so they can all know about the adventures Nami is going on :)
