Sharing my daily 5 AM predicament. Arceus pronunciation.
I vividly remember it being ar-see-us. Hoopa and the Clash of Ages is what got be back into Pokémon when it came out, and I swear they said it "ar-see-us." I vividly remember Baraz in particular saying it that way, and I remember turning to my friend and saying "see, I told you, it's ar-see-us"
Rewatched the movie today. The exact same disc I had then. And it was pronounced "ar-kay-us" the entire time. I. What. Huh. Since WHEN. I had the biggest nerd I know tell me off for saying it like that on accident once. Does the pronunciation change throughout the show or something? Am I delusional? Am I insane? Is my entire friend group insane?? Do I need to binge Pokémon until the sun rises to see? Help me I'm going to cry

Just saw Hoopa and the clash of ages for the second time (nice to see my boy Lugia again) and all I saw when Rayquaza showed up was Amethio and the explorers.
Guess I'm just cursed to associate shiny Rayquaza with Amethio and his Ceruledge now.

I found this image on DeviantArt, and I thought it looked kinda cute. I wonder if I'll ever actually meet Hoopa. The two of us could probably become friends!

Since all three Kalos Mythicals are in the game, while everyone else wants Mewtwo to be the next event (okay, that was before Rillaboom’s announcement) I really hope they get given Tera Raid events. I think it would be a missed opportunity otherwise. I might think of movesets, Tera types and stuff later (no promises). Also I’ve watched all three Kalos movies and I swear out of the three, Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel (I think that’s what it’s called, I can remember the others - Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction and Hoopa and the Clash of Ages) was the least memorable
Honestly though being able to say I’ve caught Diancie the Unrivaled, Hoopa the Unrivaled and Volcanion the Unrivaled would be a cool achievement (to be fair, these would probably have to be 5-star raid events but still)
In other news (from the same section of the same page) I just want to appreciate this for a second:

Yeah, I know, me feeling the need to comment on Walking Wake and Iron Leaves being added halfway between release and the DLC but still

Arceus's human form went through a lot of designs, mainly the hair and clothing. It went from long to short to even looking a bit like Damo's style with the long side whisps around the face. I didn't think this looked enough like Arceus though, so went right back to the longer hair, but it made me wonder if the hair wouldnt just get everywhere and his face. Im sure hed hate the maintenance of that. XD I needed some inspiration from the anime itself...
This lead me to pokemon fashion in general.
It's kind of crazy how much the humans sometimes look like pokemon themselves in the anime. To the point its a guessing game on what pokemon they're trying to emulate. I wanted that for Archer too, but not too on the nose. After all, Volo was still around. Arceus's true nature had to be hinted at through accessories. I got rid of the ring in the hair and turned it into a pendant similar to the ones seen on Baraz and Meray from the movie, Hoopa and the Clash of Ages.
Tumblr media
What resulted was a more practical travel friendly look. His hair is tied back, he wears layers, including a scarf, and his pendant is really the only thing tying him to his true nature. He looks very unassuming...which is absolutely perfect for a god in disguise. The layers underneath aren't always visible, but this art captures what's under it. It is heavily inspired by the clothing of ancient Michina, especially the embroidery on the sleeves and lapel, but with a modern twist.
Tumblr media
And before I forget, I actually had no idea what Arceus's gender would be prior to the second chapter. I hadn't planned that far yet. Since the look of long hair and the clothes were very unisex. I actually flipped a coin a few times to see if Arceus would be male or female or whatever. It landed on male more than a few times, so I settled on that, but here's a design for a female Arceus I played around with, based on the scene where they first transformed, but is wearing very ancient looking clothing aka looking like an absolute goddess. Delia would've instantly been smitten with her from the get go. Lol
Tumblr media
Looking majestic as AF...until she tries to walk on two legs.

Somewhere, Giratina is laughing their ass off.
