No YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND that scene where Hyejin talks to Director Ji (sunbae) after he'd confessed to her made me tear up.
The fact that Hyejin was going through so much while in college and the only thing that gave her a reprieve, a sort of shade like a tree on a hot day was Director Ji.
The fact that they both liked each other at the time and yet missed each other and that Hyejin couldn't tell him she liked him bc he'd seen her at her worst, is one of the most real things ever.
The part where he said he was honoured to love someone who worked hard and never lost herself is so beautiful bc he noticed something that, to other people, was just Hyejin wearing the same pair of shoes everyday. To him, the person wearing the same pair of shoes was someone who was brave, someone who did not ever want to lose herself. The ability to notice that in someone is breathtaking.
Hometown cha cha cha is episode after episode after episode of the reminder that one act of kindness can make a person's entire experience better.
Hometown cha cha cha made me think, "No matter, how small you think your life is, you have to live it. You have to. You have to eat good food and spend time with your beloveds and you have to above all be kind and you just might save someone."

Can we please keep this current trend of men who are emotional, sentimental, expressive, yet respected and respectful in kdramas please because I’m really eating it up well over here bonus points if their backstory is tragic extra points

Hometown Cha Cha Cha was a fucking wholesome ass show
With only the minimal requisite of drama, most of which they packed all into Episode 15… it was sad boi hours from start to finish in that ep (even the bit where I-jun finds out his parents are back together)
They had some nerve doing what they did to Gam-ri after a whole episode of sadness and no on-screen interactions between her and Du-shik before she dies… and that letter??? Affirming to Du-shik that he was always her family… THE SON FINALLY COMING HOME… major sad all around
I’m glad Du-shik could be freed of his past trauma and the air cleared… we didn’t see one of his big grins for at least 1 1/2 eps…
And everything between him and Hyejin was goddamn adorable and cheesy af and the show called them out for it XD
EDIT: lmao forgot about this idk what else to say, just know that I have 3 very specific Dushik-as-he-gazes-at-Hyejin gifs saved on my phone now

I normally can't stand love triangles, but the ones I do like are when either:
a) the two love rivals (especially when it's two men who like the same woman) are friends and are resolved that no matter who "wins" they're not going to stop being friends — which also involves them both having enough respect for the lady in question to let her choose who she wants and not quarrel about it.
b) when it's not really a love triangle and the only one who thinks there's a contest is the loser / a.k.a. when the actual dynamic is: here is the couple and here is the one additional guy who still thinks he has a shot (he doesn't)

Eun-Cheol is so charming in his innocence and denseness bc he’s so sincere in everything he does.. and when paired with Mi-Seon, it’s just so cute…
Rotisserie Chicken guy: she wasn’t rejecting you! That was a sign of approval
Eun-Cheol: *head empty. No thoughts*
RCG: That’s a yes for the chicken. *hands chicken to him* And a yes to being a couple. *hands chicken to Mi-Seon* *turns back to EC* Okay?!
E-C: AH! *head no longer empty. Only one thought* Then are we- *vague gesticulating*
MS: Must I be the one to ask you out too?
EC: NO. *gets down on his goddamn knee* MI-SEON-sshi. WILL YOU GO STEADY WITH ME?!
HAHAHAHA he even thanks her for agreeing to date him XD
Rotisserie Chicken Guy is a godsend for this absolute dope XD

i love how dusik notices all the little things about hyejin despite them always fighting and not seeing eye to eye, or how he doesn’t give up on hyejin not for her sake, but because he sees how much her words affected the townspeople and he doesn’t want them to hurt anymore
where can i find a man like that
