People who hate on Everlark, and dedicate their time trashing people who love that ship, are so honestly odd. Like wow, you have to resort to saying that Peeta is abusive and guilt trips Katniss constantly, like okay purr you're just as delusional and weird as your beloved Gale. Like I used to HATE Gale, but I grew to appreciate him at times. So, I just dislike him. But, these past days people have reminded me of scenes and moments that made me want to sucker punch that mf. But I just remind myself about the good things he does and the nuances that he has. But oofff.
And yes, this is mostly about that weird anti-Everlark blogger who says that Peeta is abusive and it's Katniss’s fault, bc she strings poor, poor Gale along. Like idk babes, if your friend Gale has to manipulate that girl into kissing him... she's just not that into him!!! Let it gooo.

sorry gang,
here's what typing quirk I think d2 characters would have
Eris Morn would type normally in professional settings, with proper capitalisation etc, but write all lowercase with no apostrophes when having casual text conversation
Savathûn would type like Kanaya Maryam. You Know What I Mean
Xivu Arath would type in ALL CAPS. ALWAYS. JUST LIKE HER IN GAME CAPTIONS.
Suraya Hawthorne would type all lowercase, including proper nouns, except for Louis's name. she'd also sometimes type "as" Louis and preface those messages with either [ :^ ] or [ :v ]
Crow would have autocaps off, but capitalise proper nouns and For Emphasis
Cayde-6 would use a 6 in place of a B. He'd type completely normal 6esides that
idk this is all I got maybe I'll add more at a later date. my formal apologies to those of you who know my source for some of these

In your Au in the future who is Katniss Nepo Baby Everdeen mentor who is also her duet for her performance is it Haymitch, Effie or is it a capitol student a descendant of Sejanus and Coryo and what is Katniss usually like other than being way happier and pretty much getting everything she ever wanted and needed
Oh, Panem, Horn of Plenty. The crack!AU Everdeen timeline is gonna be a mess.😂
Fortunately, Katniss “Nepo Baby” Everdeen is not gonna be like her super famous crazy singing rainbow bird grand aunt (Lucy Gray) because our ✨Girl on Fire✨ will have the same serious personality as her canon self.
But she’s also going to volunteer steal poor little Prim’s spot (out of spite and for fun) as D12’s official ✨Panemvision Female Tribute✨💅.
Unfortunately, Catnip’s greatest rivals will be Glimmer (D1’s youngest and fairest opera singer), Cato (D2’s hottest theatre nerd and rock whispering prodigy) and Clove (D2’s youngest broadway musical genius).
Moreover, Peeta Mellark (who whistles like a pro) will be Katniss Everdeen’s official “duet partner” because her extremely gorgeous Capitol Mentor, Seginus Cadmus Plinth-Snow-Creed-Price (AKA: the gorgeous grandson of Coryo, Sejanus, Festus, and Persephone) got stuck in a dusty broom closet with poor sensitive Philip Anthony Ravinstill-Anderson (AKA: the wacky socialite grandson of Felix and Androcles).😅
Nevertheless, here are some other interesting “facts” in this weird timeline:
1. Primrose and Buttercup (the crusty cat) are the unapologetically ruthless founders and leaders of the infamous Anti-Katniss Everdeen Fan Club. #antivolunteer #realroseofD12
2. Poor Peeta had to fight a jealous Gale Hawthorne (via dance off battle) in order to defend his “rights” as D12’s official male Tribute for the upcoming Panemvision competition.
3. Crazy Lucy Gray married Panini Panlo for fun. She also had a lot of kids with him for fun.
4. Coryo and President Sejanus are still madly in love with each other even after the birth of their 35th grandchild.😍😂
5. Hilarius Heavensbee is the favorite nanny of Sejanus and Coryo’s grandchildren.
6. Glimmer is a very popular opera singer in D1 because of Facet and Velvereen’s influence.
7. Rue can’t sing to save her life because of Reaper Ash (but don’t ask why).😔
8. Foxface is the “Hannah Montana” of her District.
9. Brandy is still a self proclaimed werewolf.
10. Sejanus is still the President of Panem because of Coryo, Festus, Lizzie, Felix, and Clemmie’s collective insistence. #SejiPieforlife
11. Tigris is still a fashionista cheese merchant.
12. Mizzen the Gremlin and Percy Price are still the ruthless rulers of their Pizza Palace Empire.
13. Festus Creed still dumpster dives with Coryo and Pup for fun.
14. Effie Trinket is half Ravinstill.
15. Haymitch Abernathy’s Capitol Mentor, Cassius Perseus Plinth-Snow-Creed-Price is the oldest grandson of Sejanus, Coryo, Festus, and Persephone.
16. Finnick Odair’s Capitol Mentor, Faustina Pleione Creed-Price is the youngest daughter of Festus and Persephone.
17. Lysistrata is still the proud leader of the SnowPlinth Fan Club.
18. Dill is still the Mayor of D11.
19. Reaper Ash is still looking for “normalcy.”
20. Lamina is still crying because of Lucy Gray, Coral, and Mizzen.
21. Half of Sejanus and Coryo’s children and grandchildren have “Complete Heterochromia” for some reason (one blue, one brown).
22. The Plinth-Snow Dynasty is still the most powerful and influential family in Panem thanks to old scheming Strabo and the Grandma’am.
23. Mags and Mizzen are cousins.
24. Maude Ivory is still busy selling and reselling popcorn balls with Mrs. Everdeen (illegally).
25. One of Sejanus and Coryo’s gorgeous sons (Cepheus) married Panlo and Lucy Gray’s youngest daughter (Poppy) because of ✨love✨ political reasons.😏

The Victors of the Hunger Games
So when I get obsessed with a new thing, I literally need to know everything about it, even if that means making shit up. Thankfully, that means I can produce some decent, accurate content, so here that is! I made a list of all of the “known” Hunger Games victors. The canon ones are bolded, but the rest of them are named based on their district (I got the name inspiration from this naming guide).
Huge credits to @one-mopeyboi for this idea!
I know that canonically Districts 1 and 2 have the best chance of having a lot of Victors, so I made sure that was represented, as well as when the career programs began (I have a headcanon that after the career programs were implemented, Districts 1 and 2 went on a winning streak for years). This is similar to District 4, though I think that their “career system” is hugely different than the first two districts, so they probably had fewer victors. I included statistics at the end (how many victors came from each district, genders, ages, etc..).
During the first ten games, even though District 2 didn’t have a career program, I think they still had a lot of victors due to them being the defense and masonry district -- possible peacekeepers-in-training could have been reaped, or just kids who grew up around weapons and fighting. That’s why they appear so much in the first ten years, even though the first ten years were so disorganized!
I also gave some of my favs last names based on my interpretation of their characters, much like Suzanne Collins put a lot of time and effort into naming other characters! I’ll explain their last names when they come up!
A lot of canon victors had a range in which they could have won their games, so take any victor marked with an asterisk (*) is an up for interpretation -- add or subtract five years from their set date in this list and you should still be in the ballpark in which they won their games. Also, the ages at which they won their games are speculated and headcanons mostly, so do with those what you wish!

Enobaria Calypso / D2 / F15 (Calypso means hidden or concealed -- as an Enobaria lover who definitely sees past the whole “brutal” teeth thing, I definitely think that she has a lot of hidden rage towards the Capitol, even though people in District 2 notoriously side with the Capitol. Not only this, but she was seen running with Finnick during the breaking of the arena in Catching Fire, which I definitely interpret as she was either secretly working with Finnick or had some type of solidarity with him to be able to not attack him while running -- meaning she hid this tolerability from her district and the Capitol. I could make an entire post about Enobaria, but I’ll leave it at that.)
Gloss Mirat / D1 / M18 (Mirat means mirror -- Gloss and Cashmere were mirrors of each other -- two siblings going into the games seperately, then immensly regretting it as soon as they won for the same or different reasons. Then, they had to reenter the game together, knowing that one or both of them would die in the arena, but showing the Capitol excitement, anyway, because that is was District 1 taught them to do. They mirror each other and what their district wants them to be.)

Crazy parallel that just hit me in the face: Carl (Dungeon Crawler Carl) and Gale Hawthorne from The Hunger Games
Both of them are angry against their oppressors which are willing to use people like them as entertainment
They take vengeance against these people to the extreme
They are willing to kill people that are part of the opressing group even if said individuals are innocent/harmless (Gale's detachment at the Nut and Carl's willingness to kill Hunters that are only a part of the hunt because they are in extreme poverty)
Both of them design traps and mass casualty bombs
They are both angry and traumatised and their trauma just makes them angrier and more bloodthirsty
They pick and choose whom their empathy extends to (Gale saves everyone he could from D12 + his loyalty to the Districts as a whole but is willling to cold bloodedly murder those that are Capitol, and Carl is essentially the Crawlers' messiah and leader but will kill anyone that is not/was not a Crawler)
They are both willing to kill their own for the greater mission (Gale's willingness to trap D2 people in the Nut to die, and Carl's willingness to put people like Quan, Maggie and Lucia down for the good of crawlers)

characters that have definitely worked at a movie theater because I’ve been working nonstop for four days and I need to cope-
Robin Buckley
Tumblr media
^ live footage of me at work
pretty sure this was made canon by Rebel Robin and it was the movie theater Steve’s friends vandalised in season 1!! I don’t know why she stopped working there but she just like me fr
hates ushering because of the amount of older people and classmates that are rude to her. box office can be similar but she only has to deal with a rude customer once in a while, so it’s a lot chiller
Van Palmer
Tumblr media
I wholeheartedly believe she worked in a movie theater pre-crash, by sheer proximity of her little video store in the adult timeline. TaiVan movie theater dates are real to me </3
gets sleeby at box office but enjoys ushering and concessions because there’s the most to do. Definitely doesn’t sneak Tai and Nat in through the back of the theater and slip away from work to visit them
Mindy Meeks-Martin
Tumblr media
She would eat UP those free/discounted movie tickets working at a movie theater gives you. She def used that to take Tara and Amber to see Nope 🫶
video stores are dead (rip) so this is the self fulfilling Meeks prophecy (gotta fill out those parallel the original requirements y’know). Had a ill-fated co-worker romance as is tradition
Randy Meeks
Tumblr media
He worked at one for, like, a summer, and decided he liked working at the video store WAY more (why get free theater tickets when you gets discounts on renting movies you can watch over and over again?)
Liked box office the most so he could talk to customers about their movie choices, either complimenting them on their taste or maybe not-so-silently judge them. Stu, Sidney, and Tatum (occasionally just Stu and Billy) would always come to his theater to terrorise him (lovingly)
Richie Kirsch
Tumblr media
also eats up those free movie tickets. felt bad about not giving money to the franchise he loves when he went to see Stab 8 but after leaving the theater furious and disappointed, his tune about that def changed
Richie’s capable of being a charming (if not awkward) guy, so he definitely did great at being a greeter. Richie in the box office is pretty similar to Randy, enthusiastically talking to customers about the movies they’re seeing (though he’s a little more quiet with his disapproval lmao). He’s the epitome of “if you see me at work, do not trust that mf. That’s work Richie. I go to work, put on a smile, and just black out.” me fr
Tabby Hawthorne
Tumblr media
another canon one but she and Mouse are the only mfs I could stand in this show and I can confirm local small theaters don’t do background checks smh 🤦 if you or a person you know has been personally victimized by a weird male employee at your local movie theater you may be entitled to financial compensation
Lester Averman
Tumblr media
I was about to say Guy but then I remembered Averman canonically worked at a theater in D2!!!!
I’m gonna assume he worked at someplace big and fancy like AMC, so he probably shifted between concessions, greeter, and usher. BITCHES about working usher (his co-workers are so sick of him fr) because despite doing hockey, the soreness half way through a shift is real. Gets put up front as greeter the most, snoozes whenever he’s put in box office. He likes working concessions the best (and definitely doesn’t steal food from the company)
Guy Germaine (+ Connie Moreau)
Tumblr media
fuck it, these two join Averman next summer at the movie theater and terrorise their co-workers by being so obnoxiously in love (martial problems? Never heard of her)
Guy is a naturally charming greeter (to Averman’s eternal annoyance) and customers absolutely adore him. Connie can’t be in box office anymore because she refuses to take shit from rude customers (and Guy just gets mildly annoyed, and Connie jumps to his defense). So now Connie just bounces between the different shifts, kinda favours ushering because she finds it (mostly) chill.
Eric Bemis
Tumblr media
^ more live footage of me at work
Eric is a concessions guy and if he works at a big theater like AMC he’s certifiably insane, I hate that part I hate it here. Definitely can get overwhelmed by it but he prefers it over the strain of working usher and the rude people are mostly up at box office and he’d end up so anxious, he’d let minors into R-rated movie. Rip king fly high 😔🕊
will probably update if I think of anymore but thanks for indulging my ramblings

Every time Savathun opens her mouth to tell me Guardians are hypocritical goody two shoes only concerned with the moral high ground I'm sitting here like. Man the political world building in destiny is so lacking, her comments mostly just leave me sad about what could have been.
And like, it’s so frustrating for me to try and articulate because the issue is so big. It’s the very flawed core of Destiny’s worldbuilding since the beginning of vanilla D2, flaws amplified from fractures in D1's more thematically coherent lore. It’s the neglected story of the Last Safe City and the lack of acknowledgement that humanity still has various settlements outside of it. Shin Malphur’s story ruined for the sake of focusing on shiny weapons instead of his connection to those settlements. Hawthorn’s story ruined through sheer neglect with the added bonus of her introduction being tinged with the unfortunate girlboss ‘ugh men’ when the foundational politics of the City would have been built on Ghost and Risen views.
Wouldn’t that have been more interesting? I want political problems that Ghosts would have faced. I want political problems that Risen would have faced. I want political problems that the humans who lived in their shadows would have faced. Are there Ghosts who don’t want any part of searching for Risen? Are they discriminated against? How do the Risen enforce laws on other, equally powerful Risen without killing them? And with Risen being so powerful, how do they influence the politics of the local humans? Do the humans consider living in the shadow of these demigods to be the lesser evil vs trying to stake it out independently against the Devils?
Like we had that whole thing with Executor Hideo being sexist and I was just like, ‘but you understand right? Where did the Ghosts and Risen, who would have established the big foundation of local politics, pick these ideas up from?’
How did the foundries work and why do they have so much influence when they seem to mostly be focused on making guns? How are local laws made and how much influence do the Risen have over it despite the Vanguard’s desire to separate themselves from it? Is the City a democracy or an oligarchy or something else entirely? If travel outside of the City is banned, is there any way for humans to communicate with the other settlements and how do they feel about this? What is the legacy of the warlords outside of us badmouthing them now and again? Are there Ghost and Risen supremacists? Does wealth accumulate with the Ghosts and Guardians or is there a mechanism in place to prevent it (as in game)?
And all of it, every single piece of it, would have informed us about our relationship with Savathun. Why would the Guardian care about being on the high ground? Where do we stand next to a genocidal monarch when we have no history to put our actions into context? What is our moral standing without said history?
Anyways, to quote a friend: “please get engaged with your municipal politics. for various reasons, but also it will make you a better writer probably”

Do you have any headcanon or fanfic recs about Everlark children interacting with Gale children. I need them ❤ Thank you.
Hi!
I just talked a little bit about this in a previous Johale ask. Go here to check that out! Or, to shorten it here; I see Gale's kids very much seeing Katniss and Peetas as family, and being a handful of years older than the toastbabies. SO they end up very protective of them.
And I'll add a few more here:
-Gales kids also tend to spend summers with the Mellark-Everdeen kids and they all sometimes share a room. When there parents go to sleep, Gales kids will tell them spooky stories! K and P's daughter sees right through this, and snarks back about it, but their son is a bit shaken for a night.
-Gales kids also comfort them about their parents nightmares sometimes. They understand by the time the toastbabies need it that all their parents went through some scary things, and all they can do is let them do what they need to feel better.
-In general, their is a lot of kids things they teach the toastbabies. Building forts, how to climb trees and swim all comes their older Hawthorne cousins first!
-The toastbabies have a tradition of making Gales kids gifts to take him to D2 with them, and the Hawthorne kids keep them very close to there hearts. The younger toastbabies also always are writing Gales kids with the D12 small town gossip.

12 and 14 for destiny ?👀
had to put this under a readmore it got way too long lmao
12. A ship I'd like to blow to smithereens with canon cannonballs aside from the easy picks (incest and shit) i don't truly care enough about shipping to have any pairings i personally resent or heavily dislike. sure there's a few that are common enough to be a little annoying, but also like. i get why those are popular (they're usually canonxoc pairings) and some iterations are actually kinda neat! imo most ships can be cool if the storyteller can give me a compelling enough reason to care. It's not so much the ship as it is the execution. that's dependent on skill though, something honed with time and practice, where derision is a poor substitute for critique.
14. The character/story arc I find the most compelling
character arcs i don't know about ( i could give a small unsourced rant on how d2's method of storytelling makes character arcs feel messy and inconsistent but for the sake of brevity i won't) as for story arcs i think i'll break it down a bit by type
Expansion - Forsaken, and Red War (ik ik controversial pick please let me explain before you get the pitchforks) Forsaken's the obvious choice, its events have far reaching repercussions, and the story itself is solid. A tale of vengeance for a fallen ally, the resulting manhunt leading into a cursed city full of secrets. Some of the scorned barons are a little forgettable as antagonists but there's also plenty that still stick. Uldren's corruption growing steadily more visible, and Riven!Mara being creepy as all hell is a fun thing to cut back to in between baron fights. I remember freaking the fuck out at the "O Brother Mine" line on my first playthrough. It's just really good. We have a solid reason to be there and to do what we do. Red War is.. well I'm sure it's partially nostalgia talking so take my feelings with a big heap of salt but! I liked Red War, and I think it worked well as an introductory point to the series (or at least it did for me). You start off by showing up to the tower right after it's come under attack by the red legion, then get kicked off a ship and lose your light, then have to flee the city (while one of the most heart-wrenching tracks in the series plays in the background). The traveler's dream sequence is cool, hawthorne is really neat (and im kinda sad she's lost relevance) the mission to destroy the almighty is maybe a liiitle star wars but well, i had a star wars phase, i loved that shit. Sure, sure, ghaul wasn't really the most complicated villain (or a very hard final boss) the speaker wasn't really elaborated on until late in the story ( i had no clue who he was or why he was important the first time i played, until like, right before he died.) But. Red War wasn't that bad from a story perspective. (hot take i know) now you might be wondering, "but what about witch queen? or beyond light? surely those were better??" and i mean?? they were good but i didn't really latch onto them in the same way. with regards to beyond light it was a mix of things. the reason we took on stasis just felt kinda iffy. like it should have been a choice, (or a stronger reason should have been given for us taking it on) but for gameplay reasons it couldn't be, and so the game and the narrative grated against eachother in a way that felt very obvious. Also, that one really cheesy cutscene right towards the end kinda ruined the tone of the whole climax. All the stuff with braytech (fucked up experimence) and the eliksni (hi eramis) was cool though. and like, the mother freakin DEEP STONE CRYPT as a raid is still a super sick concept. (i ran it once and was basically carried through so unfortunately i don't remember much of it. but it was cool) most of my sliding off of witch queen just has to do with me never really getting all that invested in the hive. I've tried, believe me. I've read their lore and stuff, my brain just doesn't latch on to them the way it did with some other factions. (the vex and scorn are kinda in the same boat, it's not that i dont see the appeal, it's just that they don't appeal to me as much as say, the eliksni.) witch queen was good, it just wasn't my personal fave. (there is after all, a difference between things that are good and things i like. i have trash taste sometimes and i'm willing to own it.)
i was gonna do a section on seasons as well but this is already a mile long and there's so many of them
bonus round - looser more nonspecific arc that's more like a theme or trend: As much as its execution has had holes, i've really been a fan of the trend of us turning previous enemy factions into allies. the three way alliance is really cool, and it's a lot of what i've been wanting from canon for a while, as well as something i sort of thought would never actually happen. like, the three factions each using their unique talents in concert with one another to fight back a greater threat is just kinda awesome. It's nice to see the theme of "we are stronger together" applied to more than just humanity. Also it feels right that since the traveler is big on forgiveness and letting things live, we have to take on some of that philosophy ourselves, or risk becoming no different from the servants of darkness.
