Alternate Universe Serial

These fan fictions are serial works that are not traditionally set in the Feudal Era Canon and are not compliant with/do not feature elements of the Inuyasha Canon.

They may be set in the modern era or in a historical time other than the Sengoku Jidai.

They may retain youkai and miko or make all the characters human. They may feature multiple different tropes like college, celebrities, etc

〔頑〕 :: —— "Look, you stupid mutt! We can't keep orderin' take out all the time! We'll go broke at this rate. It's not my fault you can't cook anything worth eatin'!" Kouga's bellowing only served to further irritate InuYasha as his eyes narrowed. His hand formed a fist, rising into Kouga's face.

"Shut up, you fuckin' asshole! I know how to cook just fine! I just don't fuckin' feel like it!" He shouted back before sneering and stomping to the fridge. Yanking it open, he leaned downward and began rummaging through what the fridge had to offer them. Grabbing vegetables and chicken stock, he grumbled while searching for the soy sauce.

"Lookin' fer this?" Kouga held the bottle by its slender glass neck, waving it in InuYasha's face. The hanyou snatched it with a slight snarl, rising with his arms full before roughly plopping the bounty on their counter.

"Ah, shuddup!" InuYasha mumbled before finding a cutting board and other cooking utensils. Kouga folded his arms, leaning back against the counter with a curious stare. What was the mutt up to, anyway? It had been hundreds of years since they had first met one another back in the Sengoku era. Things hardly changed between them, except for the setting. They had become roommates for the sake of money, agreeing to keep an eye on Kagome from afar in her era. It was clearly before her discovery of the well -- she was younger than when they met her, and blissfully unaware of her destiny.

Watching InuYasha chop up the green onions, Kouga rolled his eyes. "Careful, dog turd..." and right on cue? InuYasha flinched. The scent of blood instantly caused the ookami's nostrils to flare. "What did I tell yah?!" Before InuYasha could retort, Kouga snatched his hand by the wrist. With crisp, cool demeanor the youkai slipped the hanyou's bleeding finger past his lips. His tongue slid along the cut wound, lapping the blood from his flesh as he could already feel the healing effects taking place.

InuYasha's jaw slacked, eyes wide as his face began to change shades. "Wh-What the fuck do you... th-think yer d-doin', wolf?!" InuYasha tried to roughly tug his hand away, but Kouga refused.

Kouga gave one last gentle suckle, pulling the injured finger from his mouth before pulling open their first aid drawer (which was rarely used, mind you). "Stop your howlin', InuYasha." He pulled out the bandaids, working quietly to bandage his finger. "I just don't want your blood in my food, got it?" InuYasha grunted, glad to have his hand back in his possession as he whirled around back to his clumsy cooking.

"T-Tch, what the hell ever..." InuYasha grumbled, trying to ignore the slight trembles his body was giving off. A warmth had flooded his system, and Kouga was no fool to InuYasha's change in demeanor. He slowly smirked, sneering before leaning back to his original place with his arms folded.

Living together had its ups and downs, and this certainly was a side-effect. There was... a certain tension constantly lingering between the two males -- one they both refused to admit aloud.
