Griselda rappers: Every one of these dudes sound different and unique. It’s a “no shit” kind of explanation. This not so new guy on the block- Rome Streetz - is making his mark, spitting heavy East Coast flow making his rapper name very accurate.
Originally hailing from the UK, Rome is now a New York based rapper whose unfiltered lyrics and authentic street energy is much respected by the underground scene.
We can sit around disagreeing about who he may resemble style wise or lyric wise- without anybody coming to a clear consensus, but make no mistake, everybody who’s savvy in the game would have an opinion or if you listen to enough of the music, you’ll say he sounds similar, to whoever you think he may sound like. You can even say that he’s not comparable to anybody else. Style wise, my thoughts were initially Big L mixed with Nas with a slight dash of West Coast rapper- Quik but comparing Rome to those legends, may sound like an overstatement and from what I hear and how long I’ve listened to this genre, I stress the term “slight”…so take what I say at face value. We all have our own opinions as we hear differently. This dude doesn’t have to put much effort into his verses- it’s engrained in him. He can only follow in the footsteps of the originators but he is unique on his own.
