No but you don't understand this is his face when Penelope tells him she's the laughingstock of the entire ton and of course she never expected him to court her. This boy just got this heart broken because THAT'S HIS FRIEND. That's his FRIEND, more than anything else, and he does not see her in the way that she sees herself (he's not fully ready to truly see her yet) but he is CERTAIN she is miles above the rest of the entire bloody ton and that she does not see it herself BREAKS HIS HEART.

AND she is clearly in pain now and THERE IS NOTHING HE CAN DO BECAUSE HE WAS A PART OF IT. He had promised to take care of her, to "always look after her" and HE DIDN'T. He loves her (just how much he loves her he is not ready to realise yet) and he has let HER down. She was the only person who truly saw him as a separate person from his million siblings and he was never "another bridgerton" to her, and like we talk about Compass!Colin and how he ALWAYS sees Penelope, but he DIDN'T SEE HER, not when it mattered and HE BROKE HER HEART. That's the face of a man who knows he has become no better than the Fifes or Cressidas of the Ton and the BOY IS DISTRAUGHT.

Now excuse me while I go throw myself off of a cliff.

#vashwood #vash the stampede #nicholas d. wolfwood #trigun #trigun maximum #nicolas d wolfwood #my spin on how they started to really fall for each other tbh..... i mean #my hc is that vash fell first --> hence ch 21 -- which is kind of funny bc they had a lot of back and forths and conflict between one anothe #but i Cannot be convinced otherwise that when vash woke up and saw wolfwood bedridden next to him #that expression alone was filled with so much worry and care and i think that feeling of gratitude and knowing wolfwood had survived pushed #the level of affection.... also those few chapters where theyre just hanging out in the ship honestly feels so domestic amongst everything #which is the kind of atmosphere where i think vash thrives upon the most and is able to feel #comfortable and open to relieve any inner buried feelings... #for wolfwood id like to think he always felt a little drawn to vash due to not only his mission but also bc vash Forces him to be worried #all the time so-- he's just always on the mind and coupled with their initial opposing ideologies #i think ultimately in ch 35 is when he stopped having any feelings of doubt in vash and caved to realizing that he /wants/ to protect him #and also just loves him. a lot! #anyway this is so gushy but i love them so much #these thoughts plague me #ruporas art

We all talk about how Penelope is strong in the 3x01 "Mr Bridgerton" scene because she doesn't fold after his shameless flirting but do you know what is true strenght? This moment right here. Because that boy is TOUCHING HER BARE ARM and TAKING HER HAND and he says "you really are very good, you know?" in the SOFTEST VOICE KNOWN TO MAN. And like... i'm sorry. I'm sorry but WHAT THE FUCK. HOW DID SHE NOT IMMEDIATELY FALL TO HER KNEES? Penelope Featherington is truly the strongest out of everyone because sure, she is desperately pining for him - but at least she keeps it under wraps. I would not have been able. If Colin Bridgerton said something like that to me I would have had no choice but to hit my knees and ask him if he would be kind enough as to compromise me immediately.

Im so utterly taken with Wolfwood's eyes in Trimax, y'all. I cannot explain to you how much I love that part of his characterization. So much of him is right there, plain as day.

The way they give him away so completely. Truly windows into the soul he fears he doesn't have.

I can't handle the various themes and meanings in how he tries to keep them hidden. Chapel never could quite beat the humanity out of him no matter how much Wolfwood worries he's become a monster.

That sweet, compassionate, courageous, protective, and so so so terrified little boy is still right there behind those eyes.
